Holy smokes, I can't believe I didn't know this spot existed! 😮 We stopped here for a hike after an afternoon picnic at Bertram Creek Park. We went from the entrance of the park to just about the top of Cedar Mountain. The views the entire way are stunning! 🏞️ There is a point where you drop down and walk along the creek which is a nice break from the initial uphill climb. We also enjoyed the information displays along the trail, we learned about vineyards, ecology, and history of the area. I definitely recommend making this a stop the next time you visit Bertram Creek Park!

Steeper hike but a great view of the lake from above! Parking for about 8 cars, pretty full when we went but seems like there are more than enough spots. Not a lot of trees for shade on a hot day. The trail was quite sandy. Going downhill proved to be a little difficult due to the steepness (foot grip from the sand was not great).

Great views of the lake. The ptak trail had a lot of uphill but it's worth the view. Take water. There's not a lot of shade.

Tough slog up up and up some more but well marked and groomed trail all the way to the top. My legs will be feeling it tomorrow!

This hike was out of our wheelhouse, but we did enjoy it. It's very steep, and I now know my heart beats really fast and hard. Breathing that hard hasn't happened in awhile. I guess that means more hikes should be in my future. Once you reach the top, the view is amazing.

Nice hike right off of Lakeshore Drive. You can hike all the way up to John's Family Nature Conservancy if you want. Some of the trail has heavier traffic due to it being beside a residential area. Views on the way up are wonderful.

Every once in a while I like to hike this trail. It's beautiful, overlooking the lake, and has incredible elevation gain for a little in town hike. It's a great cardio workout. Very little shade, bring water.

Such a great and challenging hike, it goes straight up about 400 ft to the top, such a beautiful view looking all over the mission and over the city.

A great place for a hike. For me it was challenging, poles would have helped. Great views and glad I did it. Will try again! Don't forget water!

It showed me how out of shape I really am. Lots of stairs and a beautiful view.

Once you climb the stairs the views are spectacular

It's a good hike for the experienced. For me it was a challenge with the incline and then some trails too narrow for me because of my fear of height. But for others it's probably just fine.

A couple good wide well maintained trails. Moderate to difficult. Bring lots of water. Lots of up hill. Well marked. Would get 5 stars of the trail markers had distances on them. Watch for deer.
