Not uncommon clearly for this establishment and neither is is going to make much of a difference putting this review here, however I will be reporting this place to authorities. On hold for over 9 minutes without communication other than “can you wait a minute” - turned out to be 9 before the phone was put down. Called back and asked the snotty, rude and obnoxious lady as to why she left me waiting without a word for 9 minutes! Intrigued to know her apology? “sorry” and put the phone down! This is not the first time and the food is often cold, unappetising and lacks presentation, for this and the above the rating is very generous indeed. If you want to be treated poorly and eat poorly then go there if not then run a mile. Either way I will be interested to know what Environmental Health will say!

Stingiest Chippy in Maghull .....seriously just been there and paid £2.30 for a portion of chips which were given in a tray and just about reached the top and 6 chicken nuggets which I was charged £3 for ! Outrageous - The chippy by the Coach and Horses far superior and so is the one at Moorhey Road - don't bother with this one !

Under new management lightly battered fish was huge crispy batter pure white fish tasted beautiful Chips were lovely and curry hot and Spivey will definitely be back to try meals Good luck with your business

Oh my goodness! This chip shop has gone so down hill! Left for over 10 minutes to even be looked at for serving with 3 members of staff working, but they all had an excellent conversation between themselves! Their language is disgusting! When I did get served the lady couldn't even switch the grill on. Half way through cooking it she put the burger onto another grill that wasn't even on! Chips were over cooked and had been left there for a while... Will not be going back! As a business owner myself I would be mortified at all of these reviews and I'm sure cliff who built it up for all them years would be absolutely horrified at how its being run these days.

Order Chinese food for delivery recently. Price was slightly in the higher side, but that can be forgiven for the good size portions! Food was very tasty with a generous amount of king prawns in Mt fried rice. Delivery was very quick too. Would highly recommend and will go back again

Been there a few times,usually good. However this time, fish very greasy. Chips looked overcooked, very greasy. Won't be going back there. Very disappointing. UPDATE: Decided to give them another chance after the new management took over. Rang them up to place an order and was spoken to by a woman with a serious attitude problem. Good manners don't cost anything. Things didn't improve when I went to pick up my order when the woman who served me was very abrupt, when I pointed out I'd been overcharged. Admittedly by only 50p, she said "Well you got fried rice". Don't know what that had to do with anything! A smile costs nothing. She looked really hacked off. Not a good example of customer service. She had a face like a smacked ar-e. Despite this establishment being close to my home I will be going elsewhere further away. The food is still very un Inspiring. Meat in my foo young was like eating strips of rubber. Fried rice was full of grease and had a horrible taste. Do yourself and your family a favour and save your money. Absolutely awful take away. Snotty rude woman behind the counter.

Used to be a fantastic chips shop but is not as good. I went in last Saturday, my order was not complicated, chips, fish, sausage and a large curry. When I got back to the house no sausage and a red sauce, think it could have been a sweet and sour but not too sure, but very sure it wasn't nice. 12 months ago it would have been a definite 5 stars but not now

Went to try this again after "new management" for the third time this year, AWFUL I have been so poorly all night and day. The grease that was on my fried rice was ridiculous the sweet and sour sauce had solidified and was like goop how these are still open is beyond me! Reporting to the health board as well.

Awful! Greasy fish batter, could wring fat out of it! Waste of decent fish. Chips also greasy, undercooked and some with “eyes” left in. Mushy peas! … NOT- marrowfat in water! Used this place, until last 6 months, for 12 years. Delighted when we were told back under old management, however, it is not the “old” chippy it used to be. Get some staff who know how to cook properly! Thanks!

The kebab meat is very tough, burnt and dry I would not recommend

First-time visitor and I will be back. The food was great and freshly cooked. Staff were fast, friendly and efficient. Excellent.

We piled in here with a minibus full of kids on a busy Saturday night and they coped admirably. Well organised and efficient. Food was decent too. Thank you.

Food lovely, fish, and chips arrived quickly and still really hot.

Must be said this place won't last long with its portion sizes and quality of some of the food. The large chips was about 1 and a half scoops in a tray you'd think there was a potato famine for near on 3 quid not good when compared with other local establishment portion sizes for less coin. It's gone backwards year on year, owner after owner.

Great chippy and very reasonable prices. They also accept payment by card . I have had a few staff over the years be a bit short with me but this visit was superb the girl serving me was full of smiles and just a dream and nothing was a problem. The food was cooked perfect and great taste and was relatively cheap compared to some other chippies. Will definately be here again soon

Freshly cooked fish good sized portions at fair price

First time using this chippy. My god, bloody pukka food. Hot, served in a nice box. Couldn't fault it.

Go there at lunch time all staff are frendley would recommend the meal deal we'll worth the price.. Hi to the New 👧.

Pie seemed very dry, like it had sat in the range and been heated and reheated until sold, Chips were a bit white for my liking but OK and fresh.

They used to have a brilliant chef who made the best fried rice with all sorts in it but last 3 weeks the food has gone downhill and the chicken fried rice is just starchy rice and lumps of oily chicken, which tasted bland and greasy. The staff are most unfriendly and grumpy. Never a thank you or goodbye. I must say that one man makes the best Donner kebabs.

Had fish and chips from here and the portion size for both the cod and the chips was very large. The fish batter was crispy but could've been more flavoursome. Chips were average - would've been better crispier. Overall pretty good value

Tried here for the 3rd time over about a 12 month period. Each time just as bad as the last. Cold food. Recycled chips.

Always had really good food from this place every time I've ordered/been, kids love it as well

If you want fish and chips at a decent price this nose your place. The fish is great and the chips are good too. I haven't tried their other food but it looks good to me.

The Kabab wraps were great, loads of meat and salad

Had pate for starter bread given was so hard broke a back tooth trying to bite it , left bread just ate pate which although was fantastic, it's supposed to be eaten on toast ,

Busy but better since the new management came in😁 UPDATE 17th September 22, sorry to say but last night's meal of chicken fried rice was just that, very little chicken with lots of cheaper fried rice and a pinch of spring onion, the second meal involved curry, it was too peppery wow it was hot even for me, if I wanted that hot I would have gone next door where they do lovely Indian meals. I had stopped buying meals from them before but I gave them a second chance which is only fair. What a waste, spoiled our saturday evening treat, we threw most of the meals away, would not reccomended or go there again despite being close to my house.

Enjoyable food but long wait for quite a simple order . It wasn't that busy . I find the deals on the side misleading , you shouldn't cater your entire marketing to lunchtime trade and it could be more clear that the offer is for lunch.
