The rooms are basic but good although rather expensive for what they are. Don't fall into the trap we did and order an economy room if you want an en-suite bathroom. The reception staff were a little unfriendly and very arrogant when we had a question about the cost of the room and "city tax". A great place if you like long walks between your room and the facilities. I would not be able to recommend this to any of my friends.

Receptionist has to inform about room. There was no hair dryer in the room. Before when I stay in your hotel and that time hair dryer war in the room. After shower I notice it and it was too late.Telefone was not working. I call the reception from hand phone. I lesen that I should go to redemption to take it. After shower in this cold wheather very difficult.

If you don't have high standards and hospitality isn't important for you, then you'll be happy here. We booked 2 double comfort rooms, which obviously should give you comfort. It didn't. The beds made squeaky noises, and we found a hair and stains on the sheets. When we arrived and checked in, the receptionist wasn't very talkative and answered our questions very vaguely. There was a person who was the kindest and we met her during breakfast, she welcomed every guest in the dining room with the biggest smile. The place was stunning. It's nice to see how they were able to preserve it. But it wasn't worth the money. In my advice, don't book a room and visit the place as a tourist and do the guided tour they offer at the reception.

The castle is amazingly beautiful. The food has high quality. However, the rooms are decorated in the modern style, don't have the feeling of historical building at all. The view outside of the room window is also super nice.

Room wasnt what we expected from photos on Social deal and website. Didnt feel like a hotel room. More like a dorm bed. Had a room with a shared bathroom so didnt expect much but still to less. Dinner was oke luckily was included in our deal wouldnt have paid €40 a person for the food we got and just 2 options per course. Breakfast was amazing and staff was nice and helpfull

What a great place to stop over and just unwind for a night. Great hot showers, loads of parking space all be it I did not see any clearly labelled disable parking, but I am sure there is. Very friendly staff and the price was excellent. I tour all over Europe, and there not many places I tend to save on Google maps, but this location I have. Secure parking for motorbikes. Just a fantastic place. I'm I can do basic and elegant so decided to take a simple room with dorm shower. Yes I will be back in the not so near future.

Outstanding Hospitality, Super helpful front desk, Great terrace and Restaurant. The restaurant is on point Head Waiter keeping an eye on everything, managing the crowds. Food was spot on and the cheese plate was epic... Watching the chef at the pass plate those fantastic dishes in a calm manner was refreshing. Everybody keep up the great work. Abby Biers, especially the Dubble simply fantastic...

Wow, just wow. Beautiful area and very peaceful. The room (deluxe) was large and luxurious. The buildings were beautiful, and the beer was great. Both breakfast and dinner were good. The cafΓ© located in the cellar had a good atmosphere and the bartender was very friendly. My compliments to the staff!

highlights: Beautiful building. Own brewery. Other features (e.g., breakfast, room, service) are normal. bit disappointing: no hairdryer in the room. we deposited 20 euro at the reception and got a broken hairdryer...

Bad stay. No solution offered. Hotel did not give me the booked comfort room but a budget room. Even refuse to pay back the price difference or give a response on my email

You will go there for the vibe , not for the room. The room sometime has its own shower. But usually commodities are shared and common in the corridor. They are clean. The room is small and just ok to sleep. But it is really worth its 4 stars for the vibe. It is quiet. It is authentic. It is like if you were to meet a monk at each corridor . There is a small zoo . A forest to walk. And one can rent bikes . This is a restful location

Beautiful former monastery hotel with gorgeous gardens, a church and a vineyard. The rooms are very simple but with good beds. We had a breathtaking view though. Nice restaurant, lush breakfast buffet and good wifi at the premises. Large parking lot with two electric chargers for EV’s. Recommendable.

Quiet and picturesque setting, worth the visit. Do ask for a guided tour to see the history of the Abbey and its artefacts. Rooms at the top floor are too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, avoid them if you can. Also, the bar closes at 9pm, after that only a limited choice of beverages at the reception. Breakfast starts only at 8am.

Used to have annual meetings/conferences at this place; I think it was around 2003-2005. Nice place with medival feel and great surrounding for a walk. And, oh yes, the beer! Used to get drunk a night before the program began :) I am not sure it the monks are still making the beer now.

Super nice hotel in a historic site used to be 12 century abbey. Situated in a quiet area, large clean hotel room and good breakfast

The location was historic and beautifully laid out. The modern upgrades are in keeping with the spirit of the place. The halls are tastefully decorated with Zimbabwean stone sculptures that are very similar to the famous Tengenege sculptures. The dining staff is very friendly, and check if the guests are enjoying their food. The dinner is well presented and adequate. The breakfast buffet has a lot to offer. The economy rooms are clean and have character. I took a star off for the cocktail bar being open but not staffed during the first hour it was supposed to be open. When it finally did open, a very friendly waiter served the tables, lit candles and basically put the few guests back in a good mood. I strongly recommend a night at the Rolduc. Do not go away withough visiting the beautiful church and Crypt that holds the remains of perhaps the person whose name is ascribed to this beautiful place.

A massive monastery built at around 1106AD. Very beautiful architecture. There are many rooms for a building of its size. Several restaurants too. The food is very good. We had a choice of preselected or Al a carte . There are beautiful gardens. Stone paved walkways. There is also a brewery that brews their own beer. The only matter that needs their attention I that there was nowhere other than the rooms to sit, relax, have a drink or even host a visitor as their bar was closed. Their excuse was that the bar staff tend to the dining areas. All in all, worthy of a return visit.

Poor service! The waitress told us that our drinks have already been included in the package we bought on Groupon, so we do not need to pay extra for the drinks. But the repection insisted that the drinks are not included and asked us to pay for that. After arguing for more than half an hour, the reception still thinks it is our fault because we do not know what is included in the package, and the hotel and the waitress are totally ok. Unbelievable poor service and unpleasant experience. I will never go there again. I really wish the 'eloquent' lady at the reception will also encounter such disgusting things in her life.

Beautiful and amazing place, the staff is friendly. The view from the hotel room was truly marvelous.

The food was still semi-raw. Suffered the consequences of food poisoning and none of the staff had the common decency to at the very least apologize for it. The rooms are very noisy and the staff was unfriendly. Worst hotel experience ever.

The monastery complex is beautiful. Service is great. But the rooms should be renovated and they were not very clean (dust, dirty floor). If you sign up for a breakfast at 10, you will have a problem with eating what you really want (the warm meals and vegetable plates are empty).

The place is peaceful. Nice visit although the majority of the rooms are closed and one cannot see much. The curch with the crypta is interesting. The room was cozy and spacious for two people. Breakfast buffet was very abundant and there was plenty of choices also for vegetarians. Not the same can be said for the dinner. We made a reservation for a dinner buffet specifying we are vegetarians. They said no problem but then: first of all turned out not to be a buffet at all and whats more, we left the dinner starving... We got a two course meal plus a dessert, but the supposedly main dish was smaller than the appetizer. It consisted of 3 asparagus, a 3cm diameter potato and one cherry tomato with some pesto dressing. Very disappointing. We had to wait more than half an hour between each course.

Our room was NOT as nice as the ones shown here! πŸ˜‚ Our room was in the roof, and was a twin room, even though we wanted a double. Also, toilets & showers are communal. The place itself is every bit as beautiful as shown here, though! 😍

The place looks amazing inside. Having a Beer in the courtyard of this place was the highlight of the day for me.

Amazing atmosphere, wonderful beer, the room however had all the coziness of a jail cell. I guess this is what the nuns endured
