Museum Rudana has a interesting collection paintings which give you a nice overview of different styles in Balinese/Indonesian painting. The setting of the museum amidst a beautiful garden and ricefields are, for me, it's main attraction.

At first I called them because of the corona we never know whose open or not?but they are open! Since the conversation on the phone they are very clear and welcome, drive our car inside already some sign from the security where to go, and then not even go out from the car there's a guy that in the end becomes our guide in the Museum, he welcome us and saying Merry Christmas and Happy New year! And then the concept of the museum itself are fantastic! I really love the Gallery too! All nice paintings is for Sale. The Guide know everything and every prices! Anyway, the Art and Nature concept is always nice! We made a video about this place on our YouTube channel too. It's a private Museum, there's a painting is from 1862. Very interesting to see! And not end it there, apparently we are there when they have a birthday party the 26th years of that museum. And thanks to the team and the owner that they give us free entrance, and food and drink too. It was lovely experience for us

(Translated by Google) It's an old but wonderful museum made by the government. Many paintings and wood carvings related to Bali are on display. There are three layers from the 2nd floor to the 1st basement, and I think that all the exhibits are enriched. However, as I can see from the fact that there were no other visitors when I visited and I was in the state of monopolizing the museum, I felt somewhat lonely. Personally, I was able to appreciate it quietly and slowly, so I was happy, but it seemed a little unnecessarily. Probably the biggest cause is the distance from the center of Ubud. It is a distance that requires a lot of preparedness to visit on foot, and if you don't like things like me, tourists who walk in the hot weather for almost an hour will not be. In my case, after appreciating the Alma museum, I took a walk with my feet, but it was far away. That's why it is in the middle of the beautiful countryside, and tourists do not come in despite being a perfect tourist destination. I don't know if that is the reason, but the building is poorly managed and in poor condition. A lot of fine art is crying. All the floors I didn't see were dark and dim. In the annex there are many paintings that are on sale immediately, and it is really fun to see them. When I asked the staff, “A lot of Japanese people came on tour buses about 20 years ago, but recently there are few.” I heard a similar story elsewhere. We could get a glimpse of the impact of the bubble economy in the 1980s and the stagnation of Japan after the collapse on Bali tourism. The man was fluent in English and spoke variously. He kindly told me that he would send me a motorcycle to the center of Ubud, but I was afraid to ride the motorcycle and decided to walk home. The paddy field landscape that spreads out gently from the outdoor garden and the second floor window is worth seeing. It's a really relaxing countryside landscape. It ’s one of the places I ’m glad to come.

(Translated by Google) In itself a nice museum. It is picturesquely situated between rice fields and has also exhibited some beautiful paintings. Unfortunately, however, there is a lack of competence and attention to detail. Unfortunately, the pictures are often hung bad / wrong and we are just leaning against the wall. In addition, the entrance fee of 50k for locals and 100k for foreigners is relatively expensive. The price-performance ratio is not right.

A quaint museum and art gallery with a wonderful collection of Indonesian paintings. It was quite dark in the interior as many of the lights were off.

There are works of art from famous painters, such as the work of Sri Adi Soedarsona, there are also works of art by Nyoman Gunarsa (late) Antonio Blanco (late) and works of other modern artists. I really enjoyed visiting this museum. Amazing work of art. (Translated by Google) The museum was founded by a local art lover Rudana and his wife. It upholds the Tri Hita Karana philosophy of Bali, that is, a world in which the soul, people and nature live in harmony to construct the spirit of space and selection From the details of the main body of the three-story building, you can see the philosophical characteristics of blending with nature, not to mention the collection of more than 400 rich paintings and sculptures from famous artists from Bali, Indonesia and abroad Since the establishment of the museum in 1995, it has received heads of state of China, Hungary, Pakistan and the United States.

Location is not in the center of Ubud that is why not many people knew about this place. The place is huge and had an amazing collection of paintings. You can see live drawing everyday. The garden is beautiful and has a wonderful tropical vibe. A MUST visit place when you are in Ubud.

I did not go into the main gallery/museum as I was looking to buy a painting but the part that was a gallery with paintings for sale has a good selection and good prices for known Balinese artists.

Amazing exhibition from contemporary to older art. The museum features both sculptures, paintings and other forms of art. Some of the large pieces are truly breathtaking. 3 floors. If you are interested in exploring the root of balinese art this museum is worth a visit. The grounds have sculptures which kids / children will find fun .

Beautiful museum. With entrance fee you receive a free drink and some merchandise (a lovely scarf). Some incredible art inside, and also a gallery if you're looking to buy. When we went it was very quiet - we don't understand why as it was an incredible place, but this could be to your advantage as it appears not as "touristy" as other places. Not far out of Ubud.

For those who truly appreciate art, trip here is worth it, closeby goa gajah. For those who want to visit to read about every artwork- description is missing from most pieces. We were also tailed by staff, because no other visitors were here. The gallery also is actually a SHOP where staff reminds u that you can haggle for the pieces.

    - Ubud has a lot of great museums. Rudana is one of them! It's a wonderful museum with both old(er) and contemporary Balinese art. The main building has 2 floors. Outside there are several pavilions with classic and modern paintings. - I was the only visitor (apart from 2 other ones, who flew through the collection), so had the entire museum to myself. - The staff is superfriendly. They sold me a cheaper postcorona entrance ticket. Really 'mantap' (awesome)! Suksma ❤

The collections are amazing. They're come from various styles. You can see some abstract from Affandi, the beautiful naturalist painting to something unique sort as Nyoman Gunarsa painting. And tens other spectacular paintings. Each of them worth of your attention. There's a lot of art sculptures. It's have a good ambience and far from the dark type of museum. Paddy field around the building is other thing that I love. The employees are kind and can communicate in English. I love to spent my time here.

In addition, the museum is about 330 meters away from the Confectionery Odette Café, which is modern and cozy. 👍👍 Very beautiful, amazing. The Royal Palace Peliatan is not located in the center of Ubud, so not in front of the Ubud market. (Tripadvisor indicates the wrong location) No, it is 7 blocks away (about 1500m, in Desa Peliatan)), but this palace is much nicer. The name Peliatan Royal Palace is not known...
