I had a very negative experience with one of the women working for her. I just wanted a Pap smear but because I am widowed she tried to treat me like a mental patient and push psychiatric drugs on me even though all the grief experts and my therapist say not to take anything for grief. Grief is not a disease. It’s a process. Also she recommended getting a pap only every 3 years instead of 1 year. When I tried to explain why I’m more comfortable with every year, just like my insurance pays for, she just kept interupting me and saying “it’s science” no it’s not science. It’s a medical policy. There is a difference. Then they barred me from returning for complaining! If you have Tricare just go to baptist health in marathon. Robin Neville is the best! Or Pat Perry with Dr Grider on Big Pine. Don’t believe this is the only Tricare gyno in the keys. PS the pap was very painful and I bled a lot the next day. Not gentle at all

Worse care ever. Saw the nurse practitioner. Don't contradict her or ask her questions. You will get attitude and ridiculed. I was coerced into signing up for colonguard even when I was not interested. I completed the test and waited two weeks for a call. When I finally called the receptionist told me she could not give me any information over the phone. I had to take time off to go to the office and when I got there I was told they did not have any results. I just turned around and left. Called colonguard directly and they advised the results had been sent electronically over two weeks ago. I was able to get the results directly from the company and sent it to my GP. In addition, I told the NP about a pain near my kidney. She began to educate as to where my kidneys were located and laughed at me because I had pointed lower. Turns out I had a kidney stone that was traveling from my kidney south. Ended up having surgery to remove the embedded stone. Please listen to your patients, don't laugh at them instead provide a professional atmosphere. Never once met the real doctor but if her office workers and NP are this unprofessional then not interested. Am going to Dr. Santiago now.

I agree with all of the other previous posts regarding rude, insensitive staff. I addressed this issue with Dr. Ward recently, and it is disappointing to see this is nothing new. I realize it is difficult to find friendly, competent staff here in the Keys, but when it comes to healthcare, there should be zero tolerance for this behavior. When compared to Baptist Health, and how friendly, and helpful every single one of their staff are, I’d give 0 stars!!

Multiple bad experiences with this practice. First, I was scheduled a diagnostic test that the Ultrasound tech told me was not needed, thank god my insurance completely covered it. Second, I called to schedule an appointment for removal of the Nexplanon rod. I had checked with my insurance regarding coverage of the removal and potential new Rx. I was told I would need an initial visit to 'decide what I wanted to do and check the coverage from my insurance' and then another visit to remove/prescribe (each visit costing $75). When I requested to speak to the provider regarding the fact that I had already decided what to do and also had checked with my insurance regarding coverage, I was told no because that would be 'wasting the provider's time'. But they are ok wasting my time and money. Would absolutely not recommend.

I received a phone call from a collection agency an entire year after my appointment(that I payed for by personal check). I had to file a dispute with the collections office, fax in proof of payment which I did. Only to have the collections agency say oh yeah this was all payed for you need to reach out to island women’s health. So I did, apparently someone in their office did not record my payment properly, it’s all taken care of now..... after the fact that it’s already reported back on my credit and my score actually dropped cause of this. Pathetic.

I only went to Dr. Ward once. Her staff seemed too busy to welcome a new patient, other than rudely pushing the medical NP info clipboard at me. That attitude prevailed throughout the visit. I've worked in a large hospital for an OB/GYN clinic and I do not expect to be treated by the doctor if there are qualified Nurse Practitioners available. But you're only a new patient ONCE and if you took the time to chose that particular doctor, you should, at the very least, meet them. I could bump into Dr. Ward in the grocery store and wouldn't recognize her. After my appointment, I waited for 10 minutes to speak to the receptionist while she placed a lunch order. (I left) Patients seem very unimportant to this office.

went in feeling worried and anxious and was told I would get blood work done because I might have a serious problem. Well I was not informed of results until a WEEK later. when I checked in 3 days after the tests they said my results were in but since it was Friday I might not get a call from the doctor till Monday... they do not care about their patients and also I was told I didn't have an issue anymore that I have been dealing with for over a year with another doctor. I spoke to my previous doctor and was informed to not talk to this doctor again because they are obviously incompetent and possibly dangerous.

I held off on making an appointment with Dr. Ward for years because I heard nothing but negative things from multiple people about her and her staff. I am so sorry I waited! She is one of the best doctors I've ever had; definitely the best OBGYN I've ever had. She is personable, accessible and extremely caring when it comes to her patients. She spent 20 minutes on the phone with me, talking me through a procedure that I was stressed out about. Called with the results when she was technically on vacation, because she didn't want me freaking out for the next week, playing the waiting game. I received a handwritten card in the mail, with details of every test I had, along with an explanation of all the results and recommendations for follow up. Her staff is top-notch, as well. Friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Dr. Ward.

DO NOT GO HERE! THE DOCTOR ON STAFF IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST PERSON ON THE PLANET! SHE'S VERY RUDE! DOES NOT LISTEN TO YOUR CONCERNS! VERY AGRESSIVE AND DISRESPECTFUL AND DISMISSIVE! The doctor in question is not Dr. Ward. I do not know THE HORRIBLE DOCTOR'S NAME, she never said it.

I have been going to doctor ward for about 6 years. She is absolutely wonderful. She will sit and talk to you and figure out what's wrong together. She doesn't stop until she figures it out. And makes you feel better.

I LOVE Dr. Ward. When I first switched to her, she fixed an issue that had been giving me pain for years that my previous doctor kept misdiagnosing. She spends a lot of time with you, and she is extremely knowledgeable and addresses your overall health, not just gynecological. She makes you very comfortable and is easy to talk to. The office staff is great too. I'm very grateful to have been referred to Dr. Ward.

Asking for an appointment with a specific provider, got there and they switched who i would see. That provider couldn't help me, but said the surgeon would be able to do a zoom call because I live 50 miles away. When i went to make that appointment i was told they could not. When i asked for the medication i was also denied. The point of the appointment was to get the medication but because they couldn't communicate i was not able to get it. Communicate in the office needs to improve. I would recommend going to another place that communicates. Womankind is much more helpful and on time.

Extremely pleased with everything about my visit to this office. I saw the nurse practitioner and had the most thorough care as I have ever experienced on the island. Would highly recommend !

I have been going to her for over 10 years. She’s amazing and has the best bed side manners. Her office staff and nurses are also great!
