tl;dr
-
fine
flavors,
good
service
but
focuses
too
much
on
offering
"meat-like"
dishes,
under-delivers
on
those
and
the
result
is
not
great.
I'm
not
a
vegetarian.
Definitely
a
different
take
on
"vegan
restaurant"
but
I
wasn't
impressed.
I
frankly
enjoyed
the
dinner.
I
had
of
the
polenta
fries,
mushroom
calamari,
stir-fry
pineapple,
"steak",
seitan
shawarma
and
the
brownie
sundae.
The
flavors
are
good,
and
whenever
vegetables
are
involved
-
they
are
superbly
prepared.
The
main
dishes
are
huge
-
if
you
aren't
super
hungry
they'd
satisfy
two
people,
sometimes
more
(the
"shawarma"
specifically
would
be
a
nice
medium-sized
dish
for
4
people).
The
reason
for
the
low
score
is
two
fold
-
first,
this
restaurant
focuses
heavily
on
"vegan
takes
on
common
dishes",
with
complex
twists
even
when
more
common
vegan
alternatives
would
work
great,
and
it
is
often
to
their
detriment.
For
example,
the
polenta
fries
are
excellent
-
they
look
kind
of
like
potatoe
fries
and
have
interesting
texture
and
work
great
with
the
vegan
aioli
(the
spicy
aioli,
not
so
much
-
it
is
kind
of
tasteless)
-
but
doing
the
same
preparation
with
potatoes
would
have
been
one
of
the
best
potato
fries
in
Tel-Aviv,
so
instead
of
a
great
side,
you
have
an
OK
entree.
Second,
when
they
try
to
do
"meat"
-
it
is
completely
wrong
and
*off*
in
a
way
that
just
doesn't
work.
Seitan
is
gummy
and
doesn't
feel
anything
like
meat
-
the
"shawarma",
which
works
the
best,
is
heavily
flavored
but
chewy,
and
is
piled
on
a
base
of
flat
bread,
tahini
an
roasted
potato
-
which
is
actually
great,
but
the
sum
of
it
is
that
its
just
not
good
shawarma.
The
"steak"
is
more
mildly
flavored
but
also
looks,
tastes
and
feels
much
more
unlike
what
it
is
supposed
to
mimic.
Its
not
bad,
but
its
not
good
either
and
starting
with
the
concept
of
"steak"
you
are
bound
to
be
disappointed.
That
being
said,
the
"steak"
is
lying
on
a
heap
of
expertly
prepared
vegetables
that
are
very
tasty.
The
stir-fry
pineapple
with
tofu
was
good
but
could
actually
could
use
more
flavors.
Finally
the
brownie
was
dry,
flaky
and
had
a
flat
flavor,
but
the
coconut
ice-cream
on
top
was
very
nice
(if
you
like
coconut
flavor).
Summary:
see
above.

in
order:
brownie
sundae,
"shawarama",
"steak",
stir-fried
pineapple
tofu]
