This Hostel is really dirty. There is mildew in the sleeping rooms, right next to the pillow. The showers and toilets are moldy and dirty. A really good thing was the evening dinner. It’s included and you ate with all the people from the hostel. On the other side there is just toast, marmalade and Nutella for the breakfast (but the breakfast is also included). All in all I will never go back here!

Most of the top ratings are probably brought by a coffee capsule that they give if you put in a good review. To get breakfast and dinner you have to be right on time otherwise it's all gone. Not that it's anything much, breakfast is basically a watered down porridge and freezer bread with nutella :P The community showers/toilets are barely working and dirty. The main issue is that the staff comes and goes into your room moving your stuff without warning and in total disregard of privacy.

Very good hostel! Very nice staff, dinner included, lots of activities and amazing place to meet new people. Only the location in Tel Aviv is not that good, but overall, I can definitely recommend it!

Cheap and very good for the money. There are events every night, breakfast and supper are provided, but are vegan only. There are events every night and discounts on drinks. Rooms are just big enough but lack lockers or storage. Smelly rooms and only maintained by volunteers. Bathrooms are nice and spacious. In general a good choice but a little pricy for the rooms

Stayed here with my friend 4 days before going to Jerusalem for 2 nights, the day we came back to book in for another 4 nights, we arrived the owner was in my friends face shouting about Sudanese and Lebanese stamps on my passport, although I stayed here no problems before, my friend had clearly had some drinks that night so I don’t think threatening/antagonising behaviour is ever going to end well, my friend who caused no harm replied with some snidely remarks as he was confused to why this was happening.. they told me that our booking had been “cancelled” because of this even tho they have still charged me 155GBP for my accommodation, when I WhatsApp the staff they tell me a different excuse every time to why we were kicked out and refuse to refund my booking. Don’t see why anyone should be treated in this way so would not recommend this hostel to anyone.

My first ever hostel experience and it was epic. The atmosphere in the communal area was so great that one didn't even need a reason to go out anywhere. Friendly staff and tenants made this place one to never forget. Clean bedding, showers and rest rooms. Most importantly, the price per night includes breakfast and dinner. Can't go wrong with that. Thank you Jungle Jaffa

Woke up to the sounds of drilling nonstop and hammering and construction work. All night people are in and out of the room. If you are a female you will have at least 5 to 6 thirsty desperate guys scouting and scoping you from the minute you walk in AND they work there. They charge for towels. You get a tiny sheet to cover up with. If you want to sleep in you wont get to enjoy breakfast and if you get up early for breakfast it is old toast with jelly at best or they will ask you to pay for breakfast. Never once was able to eat dinner they alwaye say they already served it but that i can purchase dinner sigh...They told me they were out of pillow cases. Had to use a sheet for a pillow case because the pillow was utterly disgusting and ripped and torn..The cockroaches in the lobby, room, and kitchen were absurd. Helped clean and even brought them additional customers , they overcharged my friend double what I payed and after being friendly and kind to everyone was asked to leave for no apparent reason with absolutely zero explanation. I don't understand how anyone gets rest in this place.. finally was able to fall asleep at 530 am just to be woke up at 8 am to loud construction work. I recommend finding another hostel.

Great hostel experience! Lively social atmosphere all the time and organized events each and every day made for a lot of fun. The beds were comfy, with curtains, with functioning AC, warm showers and a nice kitchen —although I hardly used it because the hostel provides free breakfast and dinner daily. Only downside was a lack of lockers for luggage in the rooms. Would highly recommend!

The community of the hostel is amazing! Many people volunteering and being active in the hostel. The right place for solo and couple backpackers. Every night there's a great vegan food, served with love, ☮️, and positivity.

Had a great stay at Jungle Jaffa Hostel. It’s a beautiful hostel in a very safe and fun location with easy access to public transportation. Even people on a business trip or students will also have a wonderful time there because of the strong wifi and quiet atmosphere/place to study. The hostel is well-taken care of, clean, organized and neat. The whole place is equipped, and stores and markets are within walking distances. The hostel staff is like family…very hospitable, nice, respectful, professional, generous, thoughtful, kind, helpful and welcoming. I felt like home. Will always return there for every visit. Highly recommended!

Rooms were not clean when i checked in, toilets were broken, staff were drunk or high all the time and did not know what they were doing. AC was not working in some spots and couldn't be controlled. Highly recommend to spend a little more and stay at a better hostel which I ended up doing. One thing this hostel has is a nice rooftop but they have no clue what to do with it. If you are looking just to spend a night or two it might to the trick.

What an experience! Let's put it this way, if there's any way of pardoning this hostel from your travel plans, I do strongly encourage you to do so. My points as follows... The overly loud and rather 'courteous' staff seems to show zero concern in the world for the comfort and enjoyment of their imposing guests. The managers kept on blasting ear-piercing tunes on the rooftop into the small hours to spread the fun around, neglecting the fact that this was meant to mainly be a pitstop for backpackers who could really use some sleep in between their daily excursions. The overall experience left loads to be desired and was far from frictionless. Whether it's the over-the-top abrasive and unprofessional attitude you get from certain staff members (I.e. the locals). One of which, a hippy-looking fella, offered a handful of snappy replies, and two minutes later tossed a towel my way and gave me a stern yet careless look saying, 'There you have it... Now sod off'. Almost rolling his eyes as he went about it. How dare I welcome myself to the reception desk he's manning to rent a towel from him at cost and intrude on the texting convo he was so engrossed at. Shame on me! The shower facilities are, dare I say, more akin to what I imagine prison accommodation was like in the early 90s - hardly functioning and poorly maintained. Bucket list item - ticked. Having hot water or decent water pressure is not a given in this establishment - enjoying a hot shower after your taxing day trips seems more like a first-come-first-served luxury, and to taunt you further, they put up passive-aggressive signs urging you to keep your shower time to a minimum (mind you, there's no shortage of either audacity or water sources in Israel at present). The astronomical nightly fees, which scrape the lower end of Airbnb private room rentals more than factor in their running expenses, I should think. Aircon wars were a repeated theme. A fun game that involves slang matches, watching guard, sweating like a hog, and a refreshing form of entertainment to keep you on your toes throughout your entire stay. Surprisingly enough, this was the highlight of our stay! Now, on to the lovely mystery meat/food that they have the audacity to present paying guests with... Meals that make hospital food appear as gourmet in contrast. I bet even stray dogs would sneer at the questionable atrocious gunk on offer, growl and simply walk away. This is amateur hour if I've ever seen one. On the plus side of things, though, let's be fair, the location is relatively convenient. A 20 min walk away from the old city of Jaffa and the central station. And the volunteers were rather friendly and respectful. If only the managers could pick up some of their manners (possibly work in progress?) If you're either a masochist seeking particularly grim times ahead to feed your kink or looking for a party hostel full to the brim with inconsiderate college party animals, then congrats, you've found just the place! Otherwise, perhaps give this review a thumb up, and give Jaffa Jungle a wide berth?

Great place! Amazing rooftop parties, and great staff Owners might slap you if you are too cool! Kitchen has all the tools you’ll need and bathrooms are great, sometimes cold showers help with hair grow! 🥶 Really close to all touristic attractions and five minutes walk to the beach! What else can you ask for?! Many events that make you interact with each other and not be an introvert. For example rooftop parties,🍕 pizza nights, hummus nights, even haircuts 💈day sometimes! Depending on the guests 😉. I had a very nice time while I was in here and I would very much recommend this place to everyone if you want to have a great time as I did. Not to forget that there is free coffee ☕️ , for you to start your morning and wake up 🌞 10/10

First of all, people are very nice and welcoming. Depending on the purpose of your visit, you will have a totally different experience. If you’re coming to party and enjoy the night life of Tel Aviv = great place to stay. If you want some calm, don’t go there. The room I was was recently renovated, but half finished, no curtains, and the sound isolation is terrible. I do not really understand why the 2nd floor new rooms are in the middle of the common area with such a bad isolation…

Good points- Great! Amazing hostel with a good location and really helpful staff. Lots of leaflets on things to do, and there is free breakfast and also dinner every day! Whilst a basic dinner, its the highlight of the stay, as its not only free, but fresh, hot served in a huge cooking pot. It was great to pick up a plate and then sit with other people and get to know people and make friends! much harder when there is not this kind of thing. Also Tel Aviv is so expensive so this is really handy! Nightly there is happy hour, so two beers for 20NIS, which is great. There are nightly activities (Night out, roof top party, karaoke, live music in Jaffa, a 50% off bar) depending on the day of the week. Whilst it feels like a party hostel, it can also be chill and the rooftop party doesnt really intrude should you want a quiet one in. Good clean hot showers. Lockers in the hallway so out of the way. Chargers on every bed. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Bad points · The breakfast was ok, could have increased the variety with a value box of cereal or something, but this is a minor issue. Rooms were ok but not too many places to put your things, a little crowded, and no curtains on the top bunks. A few shower curtains and more hooks would be handy so things dont get as wet when showering. Location good but not the most obvious where the hostel is, a big sign would be handy, as I couldnt find it originally and ended up sneaking around some random building near the burger place! Following my GPS too much. Great!

Amazing vibe , good location (15min walk to the beach and old Jaffa) The room was clean, with AC and new mattresses, pillows and super soft duvets. The hostel is overall quite clean and I love the fact that it offers breakfast AND dinner plus a bunch of activities to hang out at night and meet people. The staff is kindy and helpful with everything you need. Thanks!

I love this place. Everything about it! We'd had a disaster when we arrived in Tel Aviv - the apartment we'd booked was beyond terrible. Unable to change flights, and short on cash as we hadn't received the refund from the apartment, we were on a budget. And this place ticked the box. We couldn't have made a better choice. From the moment we arrived, and were checked in (thanks Daniel for the friendly greeting) we loved this amazingly welcome, fun and comfortable hostel. The beds were the best hostel beds we'd ever slept in. The bathrooms were modern, the hot water was plentiful. But it was the ambience, the people, the culture and the welcome we received that made it outstanding. We met so many cool people here - the hostel nurtures a spirit of togetherness, so all guest chatted and co mingled (and drank!) together. Breakfast and dinner were included in the price, which was an unexpected bonus (and delicious). We met friends here from Argentina, Canada, Columbia, Sweden, the Netherlands and other places we can't wait to see again. Thank you for an amazing stay.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever been to, incredible location and considering the included breakfast and dinner and activities the price was very cheap. The staff was super friendly and it’s a great place to get to know new people - in the future I’d consider staying in a female-only dorm though (which they do offer), because there were only men in the mixed dorm which made it feel a little unsafe to me personally.

Amazing atmosphere, extremely social and events organised everyday. However the only downside was the recently 'renovated' rooms which are not fully finished. The beds weren't anchored to the wall (think about that when someone's climbing up), new showers did not have hot water (so had to use other bathrooms), no mirrors on the wall, and small things like the toilets not having toilet paper holders. There was also a noticeable raw sewerage smell coming from the new bathrooms. I'm sure it will be great once the renovations are completed however the rooms should have waited rather than renting them out mid renovation.

One of the best hostels I was in, great people, awesome location and the vibe in general is splendid! A lot of hostel activities to spend time with all the hostel people, and dinner and breakfast are included. I would highly recommend, had such a lovely time there. ♥️

Staying at Jungle Jaffa was an amazing experience- great people, great location, great vibes! the food that’s included is lovely and they have quite a decent selection. All around it was a great night and would 10/10 recommend it for people near tel aviv.

Amazing hostel, great atmosphere, friendly volunteers, wonderful dinner included! Can’t fault anything just wish I could have stayed longer! The hostel is also well located, very near the beach perfect for a few relaxing days :D I would highly recommend this as a base for Israel and this was true for many traveler's as I met people who stayed there multiple times! The rooftop and lobby are great places to chill out and the social scene within the hostel is top class very easy to meet others and enjoy the relaxed vibe of Jaffa! A special shout out to my man Frieder who was there to help with anything I needed in the hostel! Keeping the place in good shape and preparing a killer breakfast 🙌🏻

Love this place! I had never been to Tel-Aviv before and this place absolutely made my stay even better. They offer hostel group activities. Their happy hour is great! Rooftop bar is fun. The owners are great people, interesting and very nice. All the staff are great. They're from all over the world. I live in Norway but grew up in Virginia so imagine my surprise when the front desk was an American from North Carolina! You really like part of a family when you're here. Check it out!

Best hostel I stayed at in Israel! Fantastic staff who are friendly, helpful and always up for a chat! Everything was really clean and tidy. The communal spaces had a great atmosphere and there were always events happening on the rooftop. I couldn’t recommend Overstay enough.

The place is good located and most popular places in Jaffa are reachable by walking from the hostel. The free breakfast is very good and variated, it includes eggs, bread, cheese and vegetables. There are free water and hot beverages all the day. There is a nice rooftop where you can drink a beer or a cocktail. Prices are not cheap but it is common in all the city. Concerning the dorm there are a lot of beds in a small room and the space is very limited and the lockers are very small.

This is by far one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in and that is exactly why I keep coming back! The atmosphere here is so friendly and the volunteers are so involved with the guests. There are many events planned such as beach activities, sunset yoga and dinner on Shabbat. The best part is honestly the rooftop bar. They also give free breakfast which is vegan friendly. The location of the hostel is quite good as well, walking distance to the beach and Jaffa centre. I definitely would recommend, I cant wait to come back myself!)))

Great hostel with loads of community activities to take part in each night. The kitchen/lounge area is spacious and the bathrooms/ showers are very nice/spacious/and clean. There are lockers just outside of the showers which is convenient for storing your toiletries. Rooms are a bit small especially with luggage, but a very minor inconvenience as the beds are very roomy and have outlets at each one. Very close to the beach, jaffa city, and other shops.

Having a good trip experience is more than only choose a hostel e plan tours. You have to find good people along the way. My experience on this hostel was outstanding. Adir and his team def. do a good job on hosteling people. Hostel atmosphere is really amazing. I strongly recommend.

  • 5/5 Tobias M. 1 year ago on Google
I really liked this Hostel. Especially the free dinner is pretty awesome. If you go on trips to explore Israel, which basically takes the whole day, you are highly welcomed to join the community for having dinner together. Also the staff is really nice and helps if you need anything. It's a pity that I couldn't join the pub crawls cause I stayed only for 3 nights.

First time in Israel and first time travelling by myself to a hostel. I was terrified at first and had a hard time finding it, but once I got there I didnt want to leave. The vibe is fantastic, its chill and homey without being too much and the people are incredibly nice. Location is the best and the quality is the best for the price.

Excellent Place. The whole staff are really helpful and kind. Probably the only disadvantage is that the shower hose is to short. Thank you "Jaffa Jungle" for some memorable moments in your place. We <3 TelAviv!! 🌊🌊

I both stayed and volunteered at jungle Jaffa, and I loved it. The volunteers and staff have great vibes. The hostel is clean, well-managed, and generally occupied by very cool people. Having dinner and breakfast provided is a huge plus!

Location is excellent. Very close to the town centre and the beach. Rooms and facilities are not the cleanest, but it was ok. Too noisy during the night The staff was very friendly. I didn't like the breakfast they offered with the room. Bread, nutella, cucumbers and tomatoes. Nider I like dinner. Rice with tomato and potatoes, and raw cabbage.I don't know who normally eats these kind of food combinations.

My stay in Jungle Jaffa was amazing, special thanks to the german volunteers Elisa and Ksenia. They were really welcoming and provided good recommendations around Tel Aviv and the night life. In general it is a really social hostel that you should consider when visiting Tel Aviv.
