A true five star hotel in the middle of the best part of Jerusalem. Very convenient.

The hotel boasts a lovely inner pool that's perfect for relaxation. I was particularly impressed with the massage services offered. Its proximity to the city center and restaurants is a major plus, and being near the old city adds to its charm. The location is truly picturesque. A recommended stay for those visiting the area.

Been a guest of this hotel, just asked the security guy and other staff members to let me in to the lobby (I am with my baby boy 2 months old) They didn’t let me in. Stay away! Garbage hotel and garbage staff! Probably they think they’re higher standards than the waldorf Astoria. Pathetic losers

Absolutely a lovely 5 star experience . Special thanks to all staff including MONIR at the restaurant TAL LEVINE, Fadid, Ahmad the chef who served us at the Rosh Hashana. Amazing Service hotel in the middle of entire action center in Jerusalem. Staff are very very informative, professional and caring. Herbert Samuel Jerusalem and its Staff plus Restaurants are the best hotel in Israel and Jerusalem with a unique ambiance and great service. Arrived before the new year a week ago and they have proven their value. The hotel was almost fully booked and in fact there was no option on the website to reserve anymore. Awesome SPA experience. All the managers are absolutely amazing (Thank you!!!) together with entire staff during Rosh Hashana at the reception who turned every stone with great care to succeed in finding a room for us.

The rooms are not that bad I was staying there for 5 night's and the rooms are very small and very old the smell wasn't the best I was in the 8 floor and for Shabbos they were giving me a room on the 3 floor The front desk were very helpful and nice we was putting down our luggage for the whole when we changed the rooms and the food for breakfast we didn't try but looked very good and the pool and spa was also very good it's just 2 flights underground

Clean and well-kept with staff who is friendly and accommodating, the Herbert Samuel Hotel is centrally located. The old city is within walking distance. It is also surrounded by various shops, cafes, and restaurants where you can enjoy the local cuisine. Our room is spacious and, situated on the ninth floor, has a lovely view of the skyline. Although I prefer my bed softer, that's just what it is a personal preference. The air conditioner is reliable if not a bit noisy. I like that they have a Nespresso machine in the room also so I can enjoy an espresso upon waking up. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Location is great, room was spacious, breakfast is a must- delicious. They also have bikes you can take out and explore the city or the nearby bike trails. Easy to access via the light rail and walkable or a short bus/ cab to most attractions

I don’t usually write reviews, but this hotel was of such poor standard, I had to share. My husband and I arrived at the hotel and were greeted by what I can only describe as a grunt. No welcome or customer service at all. The staff are the rudest I have ever come across in a hotel ( e.g. housekeepers would block the elevators to talk to one another). The room was filthy (including dirty bed sheets), as well as the pool area. We then went to the evening buffet, which was stated to open at 6pm. By 6:40pm they still had not opened (no update), so we left and ate elsewhere. The food at the breakfast buffet was stale (it appeared they had served food from the day before!). Our stay was brief but I can honestly say this is the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel, particularly for the price - stay away!!

We had a great weekend at the Herbert We stayed at a top floor suite The staff is very helpful and are very approachable The room had floor to ceiling windows with amazing views, to bad the glass itself was not clean The food is excellent, we had to wait some time until we were seated for dinner, the dining room it self has a unique design and is located in the top floor, note that half of the tables are on the balconies and this is less convenient/windy at night, however these tables offer magnificent views during breakfast I was missing some high end products during the meals, like better cheese, more salmon offerings, and better deserts. The underground spa area was nice with heated swimming pool and saunas I complained about the AC settings in our room but this was not taken care of during our stay.

Very classy and well done top to bottom (top is the restaurant and bottom is the spa and pool). Elevators are quick. Rooms and hallways have a great smell. Breakfast is absolutely super and fantastic coffee bar too. We will definitely return.

i do not recommend it. They stole my belongings from my hotel room suitcase and espite the fact that I file a complaint, no one took responsibility

The staff isn’t very welcoming, half of the staff doesn’t speak Hebrew nor English. Meal times would often concern the time of the dining hall opening and not the actual time the dining hall was ready, every morning we would wait for 20 minutes from opening till the meal was fully ready. The staff knocked on our door 3 times while the “Do not disturb” switch was turned on. The concierge that manned the bar was too busy selling extra service to another guest than giving us a menu. The receptionist that checked us in disappeared mid check-in without saying a word. Very very disappointing. We will not be back.

All around excellent service from start to finish. Our family has been visiting Israel for generations since the early 1970s and we've stayed in a wide variety of hotels, from executive suites in well known 5 star chains to hostels and even kibbutz! So, it says rather a lot when this visit to Herbert Samuel Jerusalem Hotel may well be the best hotel experience we've ever had in Israel! On this occasion I was travelling with my relatively elderly parents so the attention, thoughtfulness and service from all at this lovely hotel, was very much appreciated. The staff were all superb, very friendly and attentive. Check in and check out was smooth and efficient. The quality of our rooms, facilities, food and drink, the spa... pretty much everything was excellent. Above all though, it's the great quality, friendly and attentive service from everyone at this superb hotel which made our stay so enjoyable. The hotel's location is very central and ideal for most of Jerusalem's main attractions. Perhaps the only real room for improvement would be if the hotel aquired backgammon and chess sets for guests to enjoy. The next time I stay in Jerusalem, this hotel will be my first choice and am delighted to recommend it.

The service was great! the staff was helpful and welcoming. Good size room and very clean. Dinner and breakfast were varied and very tasty, recommended to eat at the hotel. Hotel location is at the city center, 10 min walk to the old city, Maheane Yehuda Market, nearby stores and shops! We had a fantastic vacation and will certainly come back to stay again in our next visit!

We stayed here for four nights. The day we arrived our room wasn’t ready so they we had to leave our luggage’s with the front desk. Instead of placing them in a secured place they placed them by the concierge and we were not given a slip . After a long 23 hour flight I didn’t realize the faults . We ended up getting our room and on the 2nd day of our stay we realized my husband’s laptop was missing . We filed a complaint. Aside from the language barrier the security man told us he checked all the cameras and didn’t see any laptop, he also told us that where our luggage was placed for storage by the concierge desk there was a blind spot, how convenient. After we checked out I called again to see if someone found the laptop or any update, I left my information and they said they were going to call me back but no one did. At the end I feel like my complaint was not handled properly and I strongly agree someone stole it from the ‘secured’ luggage storage . I was never given a follow up . Update : I understand your side but you still haven’t understood mine . We called the airline immediately once we checked out and they said they found no laptop . I called Herbert Samuel once again after being checked out to relay the message and I was told I was going to get a call back but I never did . We were shown all the security videos but not the one where the laptop was stored . You guys clearly said it was a blind spot and we have to fix it . I am only warning future hotel guests from my experience since I read reviews too .

Super friendly and accommodating front desk, excellent location if you’re on foot. Room was clean and modern. No complaints at all. Bar in lobby makes a great iced coffee when it’s hot out!

Amazing hotel in the holy city. A team of Jews, Arabs and Christians giving a great service to a group of tourists that I lead. Big thanks for Rafik, Fifi, Rafek and all the personnel from reception, bellboys and restaurant (i dont remember all the names!). Big thanks for responsiveness and mostly for their smiles in every area of the hotel. 10000 stars.

They really make an effort to take care of the guests. I had an accident with my laundry where a couple of my shirts got ruined from the dry cleaning service that they had. They took my shirts back and made them almost brand new again. Thank you for the effort. Shoutout to chef Tarek Abasí!!! The breakfast was delicious. Thank you for making some wonderful food:)

Great place in the heart of Jerusalem. Lovely and helpful staff. Great spa treatment: Emily was wonderful. Nice indoor pool and nice views for your breakfast. The spa is not stepfree, unless I missed a ramp or another entrance but you do have disabled access in the pool, which is located on the same floor. The area is fantastic, within walkable distance of the Old City, Mahane Yehuda (or two light train stops) and a great selection of restaurants and bars right around the corner.

Herbert Samuel takes hospitality to the next level, attending to the guests' personal needs and circumstances, and providing over-the-top attention to excellence in all the facilities and services (rooms, check-in and out, lobby, restaurant). The Israeli breakfast is to die for - it is an international gourmet selection of fresh foods that I have not seen in any other hotel's Israeli breakfast - this is your one meal for the whole day! All these amenities and services make the guest feel warmly welcomed and pampered, which is huge, especially when you are in a foreign country.

They charged my credit without asking me or letting me know! for An extra for breakfast that I never asked for and never eat, I called for a refund 2 times and they said someone would call me back... They also charge me 17% extra even though my partner is a foreigner, we came around 4pm and they told me the room would be ready around 7pm Terrible experience!

We upgraded our room and we got a wonderful suite on the 10th floor. The view over the city is very nice. Jerusalem has it!!! We loved the breakfast and the dining room staff was great headed by the manager Ali Abu Diab and Chef Farouk. It's definitely a good place for a short vacation!

A well located hotel, easy walk to the old city the light rail and many restaurants close by. The rooms are very comfortable, a good size and our room had an enormous shower! Staff at the 24 hr reception were always friendly and very helpful. We did keep getting whatsapp messages from the hotel though, mostly in different languages which was a little strange, but no harm done! Definitely stay there again.

Charged my card repeatedly for extra nights we did not stay. Have tried to call them but don't pick up. Have never had any other hotel repeatedly charge my card for no reason. So far they have taken over £400 extra for no reason.

Entrance is in a weird location on a side road as opposed to having a main entrance from the main road. Breakfast was nice but there were flies in the orange juice which is NOT what you want to see. Room was nice but the bathroom makes no sense. They have no lights or the shower so you basically shower in the dark. And no it's not that the light wasn't working but there is actually no bulb in the shower. The room itself is nice with lots of rooms outlets and very good wifi.

Outstanding hotel, but for the fact that the room was not made up for 2 consecutive days, when i returned in the evening from my day trips in the city. This was rectified, but I find it most unacceptable for a 5* hotel. Otherwise everything was perfect

Nice hotel, clean and excellent location. No parking for the hotel guests Except the receptionist waking us in the middle of the night for no reason, it's a good hotel

A very classic, traditional hotel with a mature and rich cigar club feeling (in the best way possible!) Jerusalem as a city is a bit of a dump (sorry) but this hotel is a beautiful break away from the chaos and noise. Rooms were huge as well, if I'm ever in Jerusalem there's no doubt I'll be staying here again!

The hotel is definitely a recommended one! I have enjoyed the stay . it has a perfect location, it's close to old town, mamilla, mahne yehuda shok... A lot of restaurants and coffee shops besides it.. also beneath it there is somekind of a yard where each day some musicals played. The service of the hotel was outstanding, a guy named Hisham received us very kindly and gave us the room before the check in formal time, it was much appreciated. Room was clean, bed comfortable and nice view to the city.

Really good value for money, for a family and for a couple. Not a luxury hotel, but still good rooms and services. However above all is the location, right in the city center. While getting to the hotel with your car might prove challenging, it is close to awesome restaurants, the light rail and just excellent vibes
