BEWARE of this hotel! Although it is beautiful and claimed as 5-star, I had over $4k USD of items stolen from my room by housekeeping. The management looked into the issue but did not offer any other help in recovering the items or even reaching out the following day to update the case or send me an official report as they promised. I had to change my travel itinerary to show up to the hotel in person after checking out to even get them to start an investigation. None of my expenses were covered and the hotel made no attempt to amend the damage. Do not trust this hotel!

We are a couple with a baby, and we came to celebrate my wife’s birthday. 5 stars look alike, but missing the real thing to make you enjoy it. Why not: - the pool is nice but it felt like you are expected to work, no staff to take care of things related to the hotel. - people are SMOKING next to the infants pool and you as a guest should confront them and ask them not to smoke (it’s forbidden by law). - you can’t get food to your place at the pool. - the umbrellas (that are being opened by the guests (no one to take care of it) fell twice next to us until we decided to move since its just too dangerous. - and last, every time I called the guest service they were just unpleasant to talk to. They gave the answers but spoke very disrespectful and with 0 patience. The good things (the reason for the 2nd star): - The hotel’s lobby is nice and clean. - We got a room with double bad, while explicitly asking for a king size (not separated) twice - thats the bad part. But after seeing the room and asking the manager to replace it they provided us a room with a king size bad. - we got a cake and champagne for my wife’s birthday

I had the pleasure of staying here, and I must say, the location couldn't have been better. It's conveniently situated within a walkable distance to everything, making exploring the city an absolute breeze. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Breakfast served here was very good and offered a wide variety of pastries. The pool and its view added an extra layer of relaxation and charm to my stay. I recommend staying here if you are planning to go to Jerusalem.

This was my second time staying in the Citadel. Everything about this hotel is amazing! Rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff are warm and welcoming! Breakfast is out of this world! Shout out to Said for always serving the best coffee and orange juice and getting whatever we needed! The hotel is in a great location and easily accessible to the train. Definitely would recommend!

What an absolutely amazing experience! Everything about this hotel was so over the top. The rooms were amazing and beds were sooo comfortable. The food was unlike anything I have experienced. There was a huge variety at both breakfast and dinner and everything was tasty and fresh. The front desk and concierge desk responded quickly to all requests within minutes. Room service was good and fast as well. If I return to Jerusalem I will certainly be staying here again!

A shambles of a hotel. They keep your deposit money for 21 days. Outrageous, shoddy and abusive treatment of guests credit card deposits. Rude replies to messages by Dima Zaben, Michal Galili and Muñir Salman. They should not be running a hotel claiming to be 5 stars. Stay away. They have ruined a family holiday.

Gorgeous hotel inside and out located in a PRIMO location in Jerusalem. We came here as a part of a hugeee group and they did a fantastic job accommodating everyone. Staff was always pleasant and eager to assist. Meals at the hotel were fabulous! 5 star hotel experience during my last Israel trip! 🤩 highly recommend as you’re booking your next travel / vacation to the holy land!

SIMPLY AMAZING!!! I’ve visited Israel numerous times over the past 30 years, and David Citadel is THE BEST hotel experience I have ever had. Not just in Israel, but anywhere! The amenities and location are second to none, but the staff is of the HIGHEST caliber with special thanks to Said, for taking such great care of us every morning during breakfast. I highly recommend David Citadel for anyone who wants white glove treatment at a 5 star hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem. The hotel is located in the heart of Jerusalem, walking distance to everything, including the Old City and its historical sites. The views from my room were beautiful, overlooking the ancient walls and towers. The service was great, from the friendly staff at the reception to the attentive waiters at the restaurant. The lobby and amenities are stunning, with a large swimming pool, a modern spa and a fitness center. The room was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, with a balcony, a king-size bed and a pillow menu. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of dishes to suit every taste. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Jerusalem.

The first night we arrived at the hotel, it was after a long flight of 15 hours, but when we woke up in the morning, I felt at breakfast time that I was in heaven! It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had in my life, without a doubt the serving, the service and even the coffee was very good. I highly recommend the hotel and especially the staff who were there throughout our meals at the hotel.

We were there for 3 Nights. It was the best Hotel I ever stayed at. The rooms were clean, and were cleaned every morning. Just to sit outside on the porch in the morning and drink an iced coffee was a dream come true. The staff and receptionist were extremely nice. I can't wait to visit Israel again and stay by David Citadel.

Horrible hotel we checked in on a Friday after noon right before the holiday me and my family usually stay in the Waldorf hotel but this time we decided to stay here everyone always talks about how great this hotel is and how good the service is let me tell you now they lied! We got two rooms and both had problems the ac didn’t work in the suite and in the regular room poop was coming out of the toilet this is completely unacceptable and a horrible way to start the new year we definitely won’t be returning nor referring this hotel to any friends they just lost loyal costumers and referrals this is incredibly gross please beware!

This hotel was so nice, everything from the room to the service to the food. I was in Israel recently for a trip with my church and a tour company handled everything. We stayed at two other hotels while in Israel and this was by far the best. Our huge group of over 100 had 4/5 nights here. The rooms were beautiful, service was excellent and the food was amazing. There was just so much of it and the desserts were fantastic too. The location is within walking distance from Jaffa gate and an indoor and outdoor mall.

Incredible experience, worth every penny! From Isaac in reservations, to Zayn as our server at the pool side restaurant and Sammy who welcomed us, we were treated with such professionalism and kindness that it made us feel right at home. Beautiful location of coarse, but it was the beautiful people working here that made our trip truly memorable. Well done David Citadel 🙌🤩🇮🇱🎉

The David Citadel Hotel is a luxury hotel located in Jerusalem, Israel, near the Old City and the Tower of David. The hotel is situated at the intersection of King David Street and Mamilla Avenue, a popular shopping and dining area. The hotel features over 300 rooms and suites, many with views of the Old City or the Mediterranean Sea. The rooms are decorated in a modern style and feature amenities such as free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and marble bathrooms. The rooms are large. The shower is small but has a great water pressure. It’s just perfect. The hotel also features several restaurants and bars, including a rooftop lounge with views of the Old City, a poolside bar and grill, and a gourmet restaurant serving Israeli and international cuisine. The breakfast is absolutely the best. Literally has everything and anything you heart could desire. Other amenities at the David Citadel Hotel include a spa, a fitness center, a rooftop pool, and a business center. The hotel is a popular destination for both leisure and business travelers visiting Jerusalem. The view from the balcony. Breathing taking!!!!

After staying here, I don’t think we’ll be able to go anywhere else:) We had a family room so was quite large. Lots of closet space. Roomy bathroom with a soaking tub and walk in shower. Wonderful breakfast included in the daily price. Very accommodating and courteous staff. The kids room downstairs was a bonus. Most important was the location. Super central and we walked everywhere. Mamilla mall is literally across the street. Jaffa gate is a few min walk. I do agree with another review that the poolside menu pricing was def over the top. Decent burger for $30…

The rooms were average and would need a bit of renovation, especially the wardrobes. The reception, check in and out and their" online" application service is a catastrophy. The difference between deposit and payment is a total confusion. When we checked in, we were informed that the pre check in on their site a day earlier didn't go through. OK, so we paid at the front desk after 3 people checked the status and every one said something else. Then I was informed that I needed to "deposit" 4500 shekels for "extras" which I did. When we checked out we were informed that only 700 shakes were "changed" for extras, and I needed to pay the difference of the 700 shekels to the amount which we spent. There is a huge lack of professionalism in their staff at the reception. The breakfast, dinner, pol, view and SPA were amazing. But starting and ending a hotel stay with this mess of payments leaves a bad vibe.

We stayed for two night. The rooms are amazing, the hotel is very nice but the prices at the pool snackbar are just pure theft. 110 shekels for a low quality burger, came Well-Done and I had to convince the waiter to change it, he claimed I asked for it even though I was never asked how I like it. All the other food in that place is just overpriced to a level I cannot stretch enough. It is really insulting to ask for such high prices for such low quality food. Taking advantage of tourists who knows nothing about the actual prices of stuff.

Never in my life have I ever seen a 5 stars hotel with such a bad service. After waiting more then 2 hours to get my room ( we arrived at 4pm), when I enter my room the bed has not been made and there were dirt all over the floor. When I call the reception they tell me that they will take care of it. But instead of fixing the situation they just throw some sheets on the bed and told me I had to do the bed myself ! Complaining to the hotel manager was useless as he seems to be completely uninterested about the clients opinion. The personnel is very rude and the hotel is dirty. It is a huge disappointment for a 5 star hotel. I will never come back

Very classy hotel Here got a weekend and we live bed it. Very close to the old city. Very easy to walk. Lots of shopping. Lots of restaurants. It’s in the prime location and the service was excellent. Can’t think of a better place to go in Jerusalem very close to the old city to. I highly recommend.

We arrived at the hotel and we are a couple that really likes cleanliness and that everything smells good! This hotel puts an emphasis on cleanliness in a very meticulous way, the cleanliness and breakfast are at the highest level and I have no doubt that we will return there next year!

We were here on the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia Israel 75 Mission, so we can't comment on price as our hotel stays and meals were included in the total Mission price. I'm sure that we paid less than the rates you see on the website. Nice rooms, dining rooms, and pool. Very helpful and friendly staff. Close to Jerusalem Old City, Mamilla Mall and other great shopping streets, many great restaurants and not far from Ben Yehuda Street and the Mahane Yehuda Market.

We stayed at citadel back in February. We live in Jerusalem but wanted to get away for the night. It was a perfect getaway. Room was clean and comfy. Pool and gym were great. And the breakfast! Oh, the breakfast! It was so good. An amazing array of so much deliciousness and the waiter service was superb. They even drew pictures and our names in the milk foam of the lattes. They were so attentive and providing. Speaking of service, I was blown away before I even got there. I called the night before to confirm my reservation and check that we were all set. The guest relations rep that I spoke to, Carren, was the most inviting and warmest service person I think I have ever spoken to in any establishment. She expressed so much excitement for our little getaway. When I told her it was our anniversary she got even more excited for us. She told me she would arrange for a special treat and champagne to be sent up. She also graciously offered us early check in. When we got there the check in agent, whose name i forgot, also was very very nice. He upgraded us and took his time going through all the available rooms to find the one we would enjoy the most. He told us the room he gave us had a great view plus the most sun on the porch in the afternoon. He was right. Then by breakfast, we were approached by none other than Carren herself. She introduced herself and asked how our stay was going. We ended up having the most wonderful conversation for almost a half-hour! She was just wonderful. Then as we were leaving breakfast she came back to us and informed us that she had given us another three hours of late check out so we can enjoy a little vacation just a bit more. Her graciousness, ability to connect with people and ability to perceive their needs is unsurpassed. The Breakfast was so good that we went this week again just for breakfast. They didn't disappoint, once again. Thank you Citadel and Thank you Carren.

Lovely hotel. Perfectly located. Decent pool. Impressive new kids room. Biggest downside was the Friday night rip off dinner. 400/adult 300/kid. But the buffet food menu hasn’t changed in years. One station cutting dry veal. Lamb was 80pc fat. V unimpressed

One of the greatest hotels in Israel in general and in Jerusalem particularly. Rooms are big and clean! Breakfast is so accurate! Food is fresh and the variety is super great! Our experience in the pool zone will be remembered as the hotel's calming and quiet zone (don't know how they did it as there were more than a few families with small kids). But on top of everything comes the Service! Reserving a room was a bit challenging at start, due to covid19 restrictions. Having Manuel guiding us all the way, being there for any question/issue through the stay, it actually made this stay one of the best. So thank you David Citadel for a great vacation, a great vfm (value for money) and for providing your guests the best stuff! As long as you'll want us, we will surely come back :)

Super nice hotel, the location is everything! I didn’t put the 5 stars because the food is not excellent for lunch, and very expensive. We were there on a Saturday so didn’t have much choice and even there they would serve any hot dishes, only salads or sandwiches. The pool is great, the service also!

We arrived to celebrate a birthday that on the 1.7 What a mistake was to come on these dates. The lobby was full of children that runs and screams, unbearable noise in all areas of the hotel, in the corridors, stairs, we did not dare to visit the pool that was exactly like a low class public pool, tell me more about your "luxury hotel". Not to mention the dining room experience, kids threw food items at each other and drop and break glasses and plates. The older people also decided to behave very similarly and felt the need to check every loaf of bread by hand, like every low cost grocery store. Again, the unbearable noise in every corner of the hotel, screams and shouts, from the staff and guests. A month before the visit, I called to schedule a massage on the visit date. The day before, the representative from the spa "Akasha" called me and informed me that they don't have any free therapist on this dates because she is "abroad". The receptionist laughed at me when I called one month in advance, even a year in advance wouldn't help with their lack of caring and chaos. The room was outdated and falling apart, the air conditioner was making noises all night. A single elevator that functions as a Sabbath elevator going down to the parking lot, summed up our trip with 3-story descent on foot with our luggage. A "luxury hotel" that does not embarrass any low grade country club.

We had adjoining rooms facing the pool and the view was absolutely spectacular. The room was comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. A hair dryer was provided, along with USB outlets for those of us that forgot our outlet converters. The staff was friendly, with the concierge even taking the time to walk us to a place of his recommendation, which we enjoyed very much. The food at breakfast and by the pool was delicious, drinks were tasty, and overall we enjoyed it very much.

I stayed here w a small group of Iowans back in 2019 - just stumbled across this site now and can't resist singing the praises of the hotel. It was an incredible experience for all of us - by far the nicest hotel most of us had ever stayed. It was beautiful, w a fabulous pool and a great breakfast, and we were so close to all of the amazing religious landmarks. The entire trip was unforgettable and the hotel fit right in.

SUBPAR HOSPITALITY IN JERUSALEM - Horrible experience. Came to this hotel to meet a tour operator. Doorman was incredibly rude and refused to allow me inside to wait, or use the restroom. I have never been to a 5 star hotel and not been allowed inside the door. A first. That’s Israeli hospitality for you. INFLATED PRICES, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE

The first thing I remember of visiting this hotel was the smile of in the entrance and then it’s continued with the friendliness of the staff especially the receptionist and the people in the concierge were super cool. It is well known that the Israelis are super warm and that’s exactly what we’ve got! Good vibes, great atmosphere and quality people.

AVOID THIS HOTEL!!! Hotel is generally overrated, but location is very good. The horrific part is the Theft that is going on at this hotel. Cleaning crew stole money from my room. The next day I set a trap and left a small amount of money, this time in a small bag on the desk when leaving for the day. Returned to room and money was gone! Reported to security who said they take theft seriously and I would be notified of their 'investigation'. Heard nothing a month later so reached out. They then respond that they were still 'investigating'. A few days later received email saying no money was stolen. Simply WOW! My wife felt violated that someone touched her bag and stole from our private room. I Always stay at the Waldorf, but traveled with some families that happened to book at Citadel. I will never stay here again and neither will the families that we traveled with. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Waldorf a few hundred yards away - it is way nicer and no systemic theft rampant in hotel.

It’s been over 15 years and The David Citadel continues to be a favorite of mine. The service is incredible, particularly familiar faces at breakfast like Said who makes sure me and my family have everything we might need and always with a smile. The food is excellent, pool is great, amazing playroom for kids. Look forward to returning many more times in the future.

Welcoming the guests and the first impression and is one of the most important to me! Especially when it comes to traveling for spending some time with friends! I remember our entrance to the hotel and the employees at the front desk, they were very kind, helpful, professional and knew how to take care of every matter and answered every question! I remember the staff and they even remembered my name and I felt like I was in a warm and loving place.

I have to admin that we build a sukkah every year at our house, one that always hosts everyone! But this year we decided to take the whole family on vacation at the hotel! I must point out that they know how to receive guests, host and create a very magical holiday atmosphere! The sukkah was very festive, decorated and one that knows how to receive guests. We were happy to meet more families, be in good company and enjoy the holiday atmosphere.
