Lovely and huge now compared to my first visit 25 years ago. Beautiful ambiance in open air setting, but the mosquitoes were more voracious than I was. Next time will opt for the indoor, aircon dining room. Limited vegetarian menu, but they will accommodate if possible. Delicious food and great service. Expensive but well worth a visit. AND they still have baskets of FREE condoms after all these years. I grabbed a handful!

What a great name and restaurant. This restaurant is themed and fun. From their great breakfast and lunch menus to their ice cream options. Overall a great meal! The staff were friendly and always happy to talk to you. The service is great and the ambiance is chilled. The restaurant is super clean and the menu is full of nice meal and drink options. The quote that’s been installed to me by the restaurant…. Our Food is Guaranteed Not to Cause Pregnancy!

Strange name aside, this place is an institution. It’s a restaurant I always make a point to go to at least once while I’m in town. Solid and consistent Thai food, that always has you leaving satiated and glad you went.

This establishment has become my go-to place at every visit to Bangkok. It is that good! The local dishes (definitely indulge in the green curry) are all delectable. The service is perfect, the ambience is serene, the climate indoors offers an oasis from the sweltering Bangkok heat. Bring the family or a colleague or a partner here. The food will never disappoint and you are guaranteed of a delicious evening!

People love this place, and the food is good, but it's about 3 times the cost you can get at a local Thai place. It's for tourists who don't know better. But you don't know better, so just go here, the food really is excellent. I brought someone on a date here once and it turned out she had an abortion at the clinic next door a few years back. Bonus star for having good conversation starters in the neighbourhood.

Amazing Gem in the middle of this big city. Located in a side alley. Seating in garden possible or AC restaurant. Huge and special Menu with treats you cant find elsewhere. Quality and quantity of Food is really price worthy and I will and have been coming again and again!

This was a surprisingly good dining experience. Despite the name, this place does not go overboard with its theme, leaning on it like a crutch. Rather, their charity work and sexual health promotion is talked about openly, but in the background through little artwork and lighting details. Their food is in the higher price range, but really good. Service is good and their drinks good value for money. We came for the laughs, stayed for the good times and delicious food.

Interesting and fun concept. It’s a theme restaurant with nice decoration/exhibition of condoms. There’s also a souvenir shop in front with some interesting stuffs. Food is ok, but pricey.

Very long time for our experience. But still remember how excited are we for the first time over here. Location was easy to reach. Thai cuisine dishes are good. Price were high, but that maybe a fee for decoration. Service staff were nice.

Food was good, especially the dips. The venue is nice but it was very quiet during our visit - hope the crowd will be back soon!

One of my favorite restaurant chains in Thailand! I went one in Pattaya several times and loved it, Bangkok one is just as good if not better… Food is really good, staff is very accommodating and nice and prices are great for the quality of the food! Definitely going back for more Thai food!

A brilliant and quirky restaurant, offering all dishes you could imagine! The service is fantastic - quick serving and friendly staff. The decor is certainly unique and funny, but with a positive effect. The restaurant is PDAs public health restaurant promoting the use of Condoms to prevent pregnancy and HIV/AIDS. Good value for money, with tasty food and all for a worthy cause!

Staff didn't seem too interested when we asked just for drinks. Took us to one bar, spoke to someone then took us to the top bar with no one in. Asked could we sit outside as plenty of tables free which we did. Around 5-8 mins walk from Asok station. Just had cocktail each which was nice and reasonable price.

Great area, definitely recommend visiting at night. HOWEVER For me it is overrated and overpriced. Atmosphere inside is confusing. Scattered with Condoms and Condom subjects. Mostly a guy environment. Prices for the area are rather high as I am sure they are banking on people coming in for the name. Coffee shop during the day looks decent. Looks to be a lot of new condo buildings going up in the area. Glad I went to check it out, would not bother again!

Came here because of its’ name and reviews. Ambient : 4 stars Food : ZERO STAR ! It’s a shame if they represent Thai food. This is the worst Thai food I had ever had in Bangkok. I hope the chef or kitchen will really look into it. Apart from lousy food the environment wise is cosy and kinky. If you are a foodie, DON’T COME HERE!

We ordered a selection of Thai food and don’t understand why anyone would order western foods here. We had chicken satay, fried spring rolls, papaya salad (spicy), vegetarian dish, shrimp cakes and whole fried fish. Everything was excellent. Only regret is that we didn’t discover this place earlier!

It is nice to combine a social mission with a business model. However, it is not so nice to offer over-priced food with average quality. We opted for this restaurant as we saw many good reviews, like other we were also impressed by seeing a condom-themed restaurant that caters to a good cause. However, the primary reason to eat at a restaurant is to have a good food at a reasonable quality and price. This aspect was not satisfactory.

Typical tourist restaurant. The food is quite expensive for what it is, and toned down for tourists, but it's acceptable. The main attraction is the restaurant itself and its decor. Condom themed. I found it very cold inside. Very popular with tourists none the less.

Food is really nice, the atmosphere is fun, unique. Staff service is ok. Cleanliness of plates and cutlery could be better.

As most people, they come here for the condoms. Seems like they are giving up as nothing looks to have changed much since they been doing this. Food is catered to Westerners. The patio is pretty nice though. Bathroom was spotless. Once and done kind of place.

You are going to this restaurant mainly for the theme, and not the food. I can’t say much, but if you want an athletic Thai dinner, you’re better off somewhere else. 19:30 and 20:30 on Monday and Wednesdays are traditional Thai dancing show. (I wish I knew this before I went) You get a condom instead of mint at the end of the meal. I ordered the chicken stay, average. Fish dish, Morning glory, Noodles. I don’t have the motivation to get the actual names of the dish. It was all average and nothing exciting. Service was fine, and the atmosphere is fun. I won’t go back nor recommend it to any of my friends.

I’ve been coming to Cabbages and Condoms for years. I always visit when I come to Bangkok and have previously always loved it. Yes, it’s more expensive than other Thai food, but it was worth it for the lovely environment. This time the food was really not good. It was all massively under seasoned. All heat had been removed from what should have been a spicy salad, and the pork in garlic had been pre-cooked so long before we ordered it that it was dry and tasteless. The only thing that was really good was the cotton fish. They also had so many large parties in at once, seemingly tour groups, that the atmosphere was much less good. I am so sad to be writing a negative review of this place, but I fear it’s no longer worth a visit.

It is definitely a unique themed experience. Most of the food I tried was quite good, I had to skip the cabbage and condoms salad, it just didn’t look that appealing. There was a big group of us and I ordered a coconut juice, it took about an hour after my friend reminded one of the waitresses. There are still rooms of improvement for services.

A must visit when you’re in Bangkok. Good is delicious. It’s a bit on the pricier side compared to the other restaurants in Bangkok but it’s for a good cause. Liked it and would recommend

It's been there for years. Every tourist comes to try. Menu is big and good food. But it's a Massive space. When we went to eat, we were the only ones. It was so empty that we didn't enjoy. Food tasted good but the environment wasn't good. We were left out alone l. Staff is humble too. Maybe I will give it another shot. Before you leave, take your free condoms.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant many times. The atmospherics are a little strange initially, because of the “condom theme,” but the interior is very comfortable. The staff are pleasant and attentive and the service is very good. There is a wide selection of different Thai dishes. I get the impression that the food is somewhat finessed to appeal to a broad customer base and might lack a bit of authenticity. However, I’ve sampled many of the dishes and everything I’ve ordered to date is VERY good. Prices are quite reasonable. Highly recommended. 4.5 stars.

Rare to see resturant a with social responsibility cause but also delicious food and a nice space. Super friendly staff and live Thai music in the evening.

Delicious food, worth it. The restaurant is well signposted, both outdoor and aircon areas available. Extensive menu, everything was delicious, if you want chili ask when ordering. Pomelo salad, sweetcorn fritters and the chili whole fish were particularly good. They can make an espresso martini (not listed on the menu). However the pink lemonade is very sweet. Note VAT and service charge at base of menu

Unique restaurant, food is good, place is more for tourists than locals. Food took a long time to serve,I recommend the fish. (Picture)

Quite disappointing food and service. Nicely decorated garden with condom men at the entrance and condom lamps hanging from the greenery. The food seems to be adjusted to foreigner's taste as it was a bit flavorless, we missed the Thai note with reasonable seasoning. This could be the reason that there were practically no Thai guests. At least one dish was clearly not prepared as commonly known, major ingredients missing: The C&C Miang Kham had leaves prepared only with roasted coconut and peanuts, you could add chili and of course the sweet sauce. But there should be lime, galangal, shallots and dried shrimps as well. The result was a stale taste with the coconut as predominant taste (unless you take more chili). Besides the food, Thai restaurants are also known for good service, filling glasses as needed and offering more bottles if empty. Not so here. We sat with two empty glasses, thinking about making ourselves visible until we decided to leave it as is because we wanted to leave soon anyway. Can not recommend the restaurant unless you are after the free condoms offered as "desert". Can't believe they have a Thai cook.

Good food but the design and vibe of the place is quite unique. They even have “souvenirs” that they ask you to take a few. Only tried the Massaman curry which was quite sweet, but would definitely be back to try out the other ones. Service is so sweet, they even offered me some snacks and water while I was waiting for my takeaway. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Heard about this place from colleagues. Welcoming was not that warm for Thailand, considering that I was the only client in a large hall (came @4pm). I had to ask for napkins, as they were not on the table. 🤔 Liked the interior design, was funny 🙂. Ordered: papaya salad and small portion of Pad Thai. Surprisingly, they brought my order in less than 5 minutes 🧐. - papaya salad was ok, but I had much better ones. Waitress asked for the spicyness level (👍). - pad Thai was not tasty and not fresh for me. The noodles lost their shape (kept long time ready?) There was annoying fly. It could be good if they had a fly catcher. Anyways, I will not come back.

The food was good, better than the last time (6 years ago). Prices are okay, but definitely on the higher side. You do get good service and an experience, so it is definitely worth it, once in a while. Don't forget to bring some mosquito repellent when you intend to sit in the outside area.

Food was pretty good, definitely not the best or most authentic, but good for the price and atmosphere. The entire theme of the restaurant is hilarious and very entertaining, but despite being condom-themed the restaurant has a really great ambience with its colorful decor, especially in the evening (and around Christmas time). The service was excellent and it was surprisingly not very busy when we visited even though Bangkok was full of tourists!

The staffs so friendly and polite, they 'Wai' so frequent. The coffee is ok, have no chance to try the sweets which also looks ok. The cafes' decor still keep their famous theme. As always a little famous souvenirs for every guests. Over looks it's unique theme, this café are is a good place to have a easy afternoon drinks and sweets.

Very great place with a professional staff and good food. The purpose of this associative restaurant is laudable and they did a creative work at using contraceptives as decoration.

Very nice and authentic place 😊 we got only positive emotions having lunch here! Reasonable prices, a big assortment of food and drinks☕️they have the shop with their own production - a lot of goods for every taste. I definitely like this restaurant💓

The ambiance in this restaurant is all the reason you need to enjoy this restaurant. They treat their very serious mission with a terrific sense of humor. We were there just as Bangkok was opening up, but I imagine I would give five stars when things get back to normal.

  • 5/5 Nick M. 2 years ago on Google
Despite the potentially jarring name and décor, it is a very nice restaurant. We had a nice meal and the staff was very friendly. There is a small café and gift shop in the front if you just want to check it out.
