We went to El Mercado with local friends and was surprised to see how packed the place was on a Monday night. The restaurant was vibrant with both local and expat crowd. Thus, we had high expectations with especially the pasta and oyster which seems like the highlights. Unfortunately, everything was quite mediocre... I would not call the food delicious but just unimpressive and very expensive for what it is. We order vongole pasta, couscous, oyster and some others. We expected fine dining and this was just average European food. I am guessing the restaurant is popular for its European vibe and the area. The service was good and the atmosphere is definitely nice. Probably won't visit again though.

Great and huge selection of cold-cut and cheese platters. Wide variety of wine selection for food pairing. Tasty pasta and steaks. Plenty of desserts and yet tasty. Pricey but worth paying for it if you like those cheese and cold-cut.

I went there 2 days in a roll. First day was my first time and I had a great time. We sat on the second floor in the AC room and the staff were incredible. We had great food and wine. On the second day i took my sister there and sat on the entrance area on the first floor. The service we received were completely different. There were no one around. And when we found someone and called for help, we were completely ignored, as well as the foreigners sitting next to us. The second floor guests were very loud on their feet the whole time. It was not a great experience for me. Luckily the food was still great otherwise it would be a disaster. I love their food so I want to visit again and see how my next experience will be.

The food is superb, atmosphere is top notch, staff are friendly and accommodating. A wide array of choices for both food and drinks. From salads, cold cuts, cheese, seafood and pasta. The oyster is a must try, as its fresh and tastes like the ocean. One must try the Tuk Tuk pasta, it offers pasta cooked alongside crab meat, one of a kind. Atmosphere is great offering an ambiance that is unique in all of Bangkok. Staff are nice and friendly. Though service may be slow its expected during peak hours.

Very reasonably priced Mediterranean (French-Spanish) eatery. Relaxing atmosphere for your special days. Parking is very limited. (Use your luck or be there early or you can also park nearby on the side in that Soi.) First thing before ordering anything, you may walk to see that day's selection of cold cuts and cheese. You can customise it your own. Anything seafood is fresh and delicious. All pasta menus are recommended. Wine is super well priced and there's an incredibly wide range for you to choose.

The food and price was good. The atmosphere is cute Sicilian picnic. Once we got seated we were able to custom create our own charcuterie board. The lamb was delicious and what I enjoyed the most.

Nice atmosphere, chill out particularly outdoor - love it. Selection of cold cut and cheese are great - LOVE it. Apple Thin Tart is very delicious - LOVE it. Food is good. But one of my orders, organic roasted chicken is a bit disappointed. The chicken is a bit dry and the sauce in the dish is a bit not well- balanced and seasoning. The parking is convenient, just the back door. 👍👍

How does this place not have a 🌟?!?! In one of the most non descriptive areas behind Soi 16, we chanced upon this gem very unexpectedly.... recommended by our shuttle driver, we landed here because our first choice restaurant was shut...and BOY wasn't it the best decision EVER!! The food is OUTSTANDING ! as is the ambience...what a vibe ! As is the service ....this is going to be a regular at every Bangkok trip.... Don't miss it !

Visit here several times. Love the food .. they were amazing as always. 😍 The place is popular for cheese, brie, and cold cuts ..there were wide variety of cheese for you to enjoy. The overall vibe is so European (many foreigners dine in here). But the outdoor space was too crowded and the drainage system on the ground occasionally smell😨. Parking at the back of the restaurant was insufficient.

Outstanding!! Selection of cheese and meats and condiments is just mind blowing. It literally takes you half an hour to review the menus and the selection before making your choice. Gets very busy so you’ll need to book and be prepared to eat and drink a lot. It’s a great destination and dining venue.

Love the atmosphere, and the service is top-notched! The meat dishes are great, the Fine de Claire oysters are yummy but the bulot that came together in the set are not so fresh. Same for the mussels in the seafood soup. (Not sure if this is a thing in BKK, but the mussels we've had everywhere all have this pungent odour?!) We waited really long for the seafood soup, and the head waiter (I think) waived the charges for two of the three desserts we ordered. Will definitely be back again for more.

Gishon was the waiter who served my partner and I and he was absolutely brilliant! Food was extremely overpriced but delicious (for the most part). The Asahi and Estella on tap was an absolute highlight for me, and we enjoyed the ham & cheese croquetas. The sardines tagine was just okay, but the mussel dish (Moules marinières) with white wine sauce was extremely disappointing. The sauce lacked flavour and the texture of the world's tiniest mussels was like chewing a car tyre. The calamari was delightful but still incredibly expensive for what you got. The fantastic service and amazing atmosphere made sure that the evening was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend visiting El Mercado, if only for their cheese and meat selection in their makeshift deli. Just remember to bring a few credit cards and you should be fine - LOL!

The cheese and meat tasting was worth the visit alone. Very friendly staff and cool atmosphere. We got a charcuterie board and the beef Wellington. Both were great. I would absolutely come back. Apologize for the wellington pic 🙃

Visiting Al Mercado restaurant is like a tasteful journey across the Mediterranean while never leaving your seat. The star of the menu has to be their remarkably prepared steaks. Beyond the steak, the Western food offerings are also notable. Each dish is presented with an artful elegance that appeals to the senses even before the first bite. The cheese platters deserve a special mention. With a selection that spans from the classic to the unusual, each cheese is rich, flavorful, and perfectly ripe. Speaking of wines, the selection at Al Mercado is impressive. Their wide variety of wines, sourced from the world's top regions, ensures there's something to match every dish and palate. However, the experience at Al Mercado is not just about the food and drink. The ambiance of the place adds to the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Al Mercado is a must-visit destination for any food enthusiast or anyone in search of a memorable meal. Its blend of Mediterranean flavors, quality ingredients, and a well-thought-out wine list make it a gastronomic delight that's worth visiting time and again.

A good place for all day dining plus having drinks and chilling out! We were there late afternoon and the place was pretty much empty. However, it was filled up really fast. We ordered a few dishes and they tasted great although the menu is quite limited. Lots of good wines and reasonable corkage charge - buy one bottle and free corkage charge for one bottle. The staff was nice. Highly recommend.

I love this place!!!!! A hideaway place of sorts with an atmosphere like that of being in a small outdoor courtyard somewhere in a European city. The food highlights are the extensive selections of cheese, meats with several pasta and seafood choices.

Great place for couples and friends getting together.

Absolutely outstanding establishment. Part bakery, part delicatessen, part restaurant, all good. What's even more impressive than the vast selection of gourmet food, is that everything tastes absolutely delicious. From the antipasta, to the seafood, the meats, the desserts, and the coffees. You simply must dine here at least once. 13/10 will come again.

The ambiance of the restaurant is great for hanging out with friends after work. I love the selection of food here. especially, the seafood platter, one of the most dishes to order for sharing with friends so you can enjoy with evening vibes more while sharing. The variety of cold-cut and cheese is amazing as well. However, I have to say that the price is a bit high compared to expenses in Bangkok.

Has gotten so much busier since 4 years ago. And I felt the place lost the sense of charm. Food is nice and large portion, but some of the food is a little overprice. Would recommend the seafood platter, best thing we ordered. Roast chicken is kinda dry, spaghetti is nice and the paella is just not like what I had in Barcelona. At least I don’t expect there to be a veggie in it.

5 Star Spanish Gem in Bangkok! Absolute amazing this spot! Beautifully seated in a relaxed atmosphere - paired with a super friendly staff and finally of course the food: Welcome to the best Spanish food and variety I could find so far!!! Really!! Such a large menu you may choose from and EVERYTHING we tried was just perfect!!! We are really impressed!!! We would definitely come back if we would live in BKK!! What a GEM! Well done guys!!

My overall experience was great. Nice atmosphere, perfect for a friends gathering, too loud for a date night. Impressed with the variety of cold cuts and cheese and quite enjoyed the ice cream but the rest is pretty mediocre. Anyways, don't order the oyster or seafood platter.

They have an amazing vibe & ambience. Love sitting in their outdoor area, it gives off such a mood. Their outside entrance mask the amazing palce hidden inside. You would never guess from the outside, which looks pretty inconspicuous, that they have an amazing place on the inside They have an extensive menu. And their food is good. They are known for their cold cuts and cheese. They have an amazing collection of cheese and they also make some homemade cheese as well. Tip: Try their Brillat Cranberry cheese, it was really good. 👍🏻 They get pretty crowded even on weekdays night so come early or make sure to reserve a table They also have an excellent array of pastries. If you like any of their cheese or pastries, you can buy them at their store which is within the restaurant too.

Had a dinner with colleagues here. Great atmosphere— a wide range of food options, Spanish, middle retrain and French. Had a octopus salad— portion is slightly big for me, but taste is great 👍

It was good food. Oysters and Shrimps were fresh. We ordered the set for 990 Baht. The Mussels in White Wine was a bit of a let down. Not because of the flavour. Just the size of the mussels. Really tiny. The Paella lacked flavour and the chicken (drumstick at that) was really dry and tough. However, the Croissant was really good. 👌

Food is ok. There is option of buffet breakfast. Most seating are in open-air area. The indoor seating with air condition is quite tight and noisy. Could be a good spot to hangaround with friend during weekend. But for us, overall, it does not quite meet our preference.

Love the ambiance & food here. I ordered Healthy Breakfast and its came with full plate of hummus, apple, quinoa, beans & tomato together with creek yogurt, orange juice & coffee at 290THB. Lunch set just for 390 with starter, main & dessert. We enjoy the food and the vibe there. Its good for people who looking for vegetarians & non viggie dish. Will revisit again.

El Mercado is a carnivore's paradise! The steaks here are a symphony of flavor, perfectly grilled to your liking. The market-style ambiance adds a unique touch, creating a lively atmosphere. The attentive staff ensures a seamless dining experience, making El Mercado a must-visit for those craving top-notch steak in a vibrant setting.

3.5 stars for food and service. Good selection of meat, cheese and seafood. A rustic feels European restaurant run by French and Italian. Recommended to all. $$$

Great place for a chill night. Oysters were fresh and Hokkaido scallop risotto had a nice touch. We also ordered Riesling white wine, which was very smooth and sweet, just as recommended.
