One of the best spots to eat in Kiama. The burgers are top notch, and chips and sweet potato fries cooked perfectly! Burgers are a tad on the expensive side but well worth it.

Amazing! If I could have eaten here every meal I would have! The service and very yummy food sets this place head and shoulders above nearly all cafes I have visited in Australia. We also had an infant in a pram and they were very accommodating. I know some people have said the wait time was a little long but I actually think it was quite short, especially considering we visited around new years. The service of the staff was second to none, they are very attentive and work as a team.

Found this little place by accident . Absolutely lovely. Dog friendly. He even got his own water bowl and lots of free pats. White horse coffee was fantastic. Love white horse coffee. Loved the latte art seahorse too Food great too. Staff very friendly. Will be back next time we are in Kiama. Thank you

Nice and relaxed outdoor space with an easy-going vibe, great service and fantastic burgers. The "Bad boy" with its crispy bacon and onion rings was just divine. Next time would try the same with the spicy monkey sauce in it!

Great little cute cafe with lovely coffee and good array of cafe foods suitable to vegetarians and vegans alike. STAFF: Came at the end of the day and the staff were still super lovely, accommodating and helpful. FOOD: Nice array of varied food, I can't a little late but will definitely be back to try more. LOCATION: Centrally located in town, with ample street parking and chairs and tables outside, good for those with dogs, kids etc. OVERALL: Would recommend and will be back.

Such a lovely place to dine ! Situated at Kiama, just few shops up from the Masonic Temple opposite the Main Street . We had a brunch here for the first time and the food was amazing . The menus contain great healthy choices for all day breakfast . The service is great .Despite being a busy place we were served almost immediately . The staff are keen and polite . Nice little shops close by for shopping if preferred . The challenge would be parking since the closest one is only small and always full but there’s many other areas to park and walk a few meters .

The Hungry Monkey Kiama provides some quality dishes! We visited the Berry joint and was blown away, so we wanted to check out the Kiama one. The breakfast roll is still amazing here, and the chilli eggs are a great brunch kick! While I love my spice and have a high spice tolerance level, I felt that the chilli overpowered the dish, but given it was a cold morning, it helped to warm me up. The brewed chai was amazing like the Berry joint, and the service here was lovely. The staff are super busy on Monday, so things were a bit slow, but for me that didn’t diminish the experience because you could see how many people they were tending to. It was such a great effort from them, and the quality food and friendly service is worth coming back for.

Delicious Coffee, Yummy food, the bacon & egg rolls are so nice. Friendly service from the staff, great prices, even on a public holiday we hardly waited for a table, served really fast too. Highly recommended this place. A great holiday vibe to it 😊

Very popular cafe in Kiama, for a good reason, one of my go toos’s when I head south. Friendly and attentive service even when extremely busy!!

Very filling and tasty burgers. The Deeez nuts was fantastic. Fries were also crispy and yummy. It took a while for the order to arrive but then it is a very busy kitchen, and the wait was worthwhile. They have plenty outdoor seating and very few indoor seating. Courteous and hospitable staff.

We had the zucchini fritters and breakfast bowl. Really delicious and a bit different to the usual fare. Just needed a sprinkle of salt imo. Kids had the burgers off the kids menu which they really enjoyed, generous servings with soft buns, cheesy and tasty, served with crunchy chips.

Before I stepped into the cafe, I had a really bad filming experience. Luckily, one of the staff, Alex, made my day. Alex provides professional service with passion. I appreciate what Alex has done for us. The food is as good as the cute guys here.

Nice little book .. great food but usually very busy. So be prepared to wait for a while.. the sweet potato fries were amazing and so was the burger.. I did order a Benny however I don't usually like it with a hash brown which I did not notice and was an unpleasant surprise but other than that can't complain. The staff is really good and helpful

Good service, and outdoor seating felt perfect in the sun & breeze. Bad Boy burger was honestly quite dry, though. Not bad, just a bit disappointing.

I tried their Bad Boy and Royal Burger, and it’s incredibly flavourful. French fries also crispy and seasoned awesomely. I truly recommend it. I also give five stars to their service. They make sure our needs are met. I will definitely come back again

Had a beautiful late Sunday lunch here with my family. The food was absolutely delicious! I had a mouthwatering Eggs Benedict, with sides of halloumi, chorizo, bacon and mushrooms, it was unimaginable to leave any of the food untouched! The sunny side up cocktail was super refreshing which was perfect for a summer afternoon! Best part was having one of the lovely chefs, Josh come out to greet us, both him and the staff were very upbeat and accommodating despite how busy they were with all tables being full! I can’t wait to go again! To the staff, thank you for the lovely meal and service, you’re all doing a wonderful job!

I really loved this restaurant! The staff were all dedicated and friendly, providing us with a five-star service. The dishes served were all very delicate and beautifully presented, and they tasted great as well. The portions were generous, and it was likely that one person couldn't finish a meal alone; each of us left feeling satisfied. The prices at the restaurant were not high, and for less than $30 per person, we could enjoy such perfect food and service! A big thumbs up for this place!

What a wonderful place in Kiama for breakfast. Just off the main street, it’s worth the look and you’ll be sure to be met with friendly customer service!

  • 1/5 Georgie H. 6 months ago on Google
This is my first ever review anywhere, however I feel the owners would like to to know about our experience & how the staffs customer service relating to our complaint wasn’t taken seriously. We were in Kiama and seen how busy Hungry Monkey was so figured it must be good. We ordered 2 coffees, eggs Benedict and the royal burger. My eggs Benedict was good, however my partners burger had a soggy bottom bun and fell apart, my partner ordered a side of chips which came with the smallest portion ever. But the complaint was about the wait time for our coffees. I can appreciate it was busy but after asking the waitress 3 times if our coffees were coming we finally got them, we had already ate our food and was ready to leave. I mentioned this to the lady when paying at the counter and she tried to tell us that they had a big order of takeaway coffees. We had seen 4 tables around us who were seated later than us and had their coffee so we wish she would have taken ownership and admitted they had forgotten we would have appreciated that way more. Bad customer service and no sincere apology. For $70 I won’t be back. Day light robbery.

The burger is fresh and yummy, lots of people who enjoyed there sunny Sunday here with family and friends around, and of course with their little flurry ones.

We were very fortunate to have the Hungry Monkey Food Truck cater our Wedding Recovery Brunch recently in Kiama. Jack and the team were absolutely awesome!! The food & service were exceptional! We would definitely recommend the Hungry Monkey Food Truck to anyone looking for a unique catering option for any event (be it a Wedding, Wedding Recovery, birthday party or otherwise). It was great value for money (much better than other food truck options) and exceeded our expectations. The convenience of having the Truck come to your preferred location & the team sorting everything for you was priceless. Massive shout out to Jack & the team for cooking up a storm & making it an awesome event! 😊

Waited over 40mins and was wondering why our food was taking so long. Asked and our order was never put in. Another 20mins later our food still hasn't come. Over an hour of waiting and demanding to leave. Our food is finally made. Ridiculous! And it wasn't even good.

The burger is really nice, if you’ve been to Queenstown in New Zealand and love Ferg’s burger, this is the closed we’ve tried so far. I ordered Bad Boy with sweet potato chips👍coffee is also great perfect for a sunny day

Came here following great Beanhunter rating, mainly for coffee. You never know if the food is going to be good when you come for coffee. Hungry Monkey does both very well. Amazing food with extremely friendly staff!!! Highly recommended if you’re looking for a place to grab a bite. Music was nice and lots a shade and plants! Highly recommend the chilli eggs, seasonal avocado and paradise juice!!! 5/5😊😊😊

Super busy place in kiama. Despite the fact that this place is famous, I don’t feel like it’s a must go brunch place when visiting Kiama, there are so many better places to go to. The good service is worth mentioning.

What a hidden gem! Our food was excellent, fresh and tasty. The customer service was 11/10! Also one of the best coffees I’ve tried in a long time and I’m very fussy. We came down for a weekend away and we are definitely coming back here! Thank you for the amazing service and food☺️

Sorry Hungry monkeys. Rather would stay hungry!! Unfortunately didn’t hit the spot for me😟waited 1 hour for and soggy, blackened, leathery not-cooked-well eggplant and a spoon of coleslaw. Lacked flavour, seasoning and quality. Paid too much and they missed my drink order as well. My sons burgers with meat and chicken had the same issue. Paid less for 2 course restaurant meal… fresh ingredients and quantity and quality that the burgers lacked. Over rated and disappointed. Sorry.

Very busy but expected due to the great service and tasty food. Burgers were very delicious and worth the wait. Juicy burgers and not at all dry. Perfect size burgers and not packed with a million pounds of filling like a lot of burgers these days. We also had fruit juices which were refreshing and super tasty. Will come again. Highly recommended

Been here a few times and food is usually good but today pretty disappointed - ingredients weren’t fresh and stingy serving. Especially after waiting 45 minutes for a table :( Friendly staff and quick table service once seated though 👍🏼

Amazing food and drinks … we had the Purple Toast and a selection of 3 sliders (haloumi, pulled pork and grilled chicken) and onion rings. After which we had their Nutella hot choc and oat cap

The Hungry Monkey is a Kiama institution. With its casual vibe paired with reasonable prices and comprehensive menu, including all day breakfast, we can see why it’s so hard to get a table - (especially al fresco on a sunny day) so plan ahead or get there early. Alternatively take away is a great option, too. Famous for its burgers but with so much more on offer you’ll find something for even the fussiest eater. Finally, try the cocktails: Space Jam is the bomb 🍹

👍👍 The food is delicious and the staff are super friendly - the chef actually came out to have a chat and to explain the items on their special board to me! 😠 Went there on 17Apr2022. They have nice view, but I’d avoid it. Here is why: Food. They were average, I wouldn’t say terrible but definitely not worth the price; the egg white omelette looks good but barely had any taste. The chilli sauce and egg & avo don’t go well together. Coffee was a bit burnt...
