We stayed for three nights and had a good time. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with the view of the lagoon. The bed was big and comfy. The bathroom was nice with a big shower. It was also nice having the pool to swim in. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I liked that it was walking distance to a pub and Caltex. However, I'm only rating it 3 stars because there were some details that weren't too great. The curtains had black mould on them, the bathroom door didn't close properly, the houses are on top of each other with thin walls so you hear your neighbours (and ours happened to be particularly noisy). There's also a noisy highway nearby. The slanted roof beams meant the shower isn't great for tall people. The sink in the kitchen is an awkward position in the corner which makes it hard to wash dishes. The towels and linen provided had stains on them. Overall we had a nice time, but some details like the towels and curtains need to be ironed out for this place to be great.

This was a great place to stay for our vacation. The cabin was beautiful, and had everything we needed. It was nice and clean, and the staff kept it that way all throughout our stay. The swimming pool was very nice and clean, and a great day to cool off after a day of hiking and adventure. We really enjoyed it here.

My hubby and I had visited this place in 2020. What a lovely experience! We had stayed in the duplex and had a pretty view of the lake. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed and was very clean and tidy. The lodges are located in a tranquil setting surrounded by all the beauty of nature. Hospitality was on point and we will definitely stay there again. Highly recommend.

Good location, great view, well equipped unit. There are two bathrooms which is great, and the unit can be expanded to a 6 or 8 sleeper by renting the adjacent rooms as well. Good parking under the unit. The pool is very handy since the closest beach is not that close. Although the view is great, the immediate area is not that great and the unit therefore quite expensive compared to other similar units in the same area. I probably left my jacket in the room, and when calling afterwards to esquire if they have it, the answers I got was just "Nothing was handed in". Not "we will check for you sir", or "I will ask the cleaning team if they found it" - no additional effort to try and assist me.

Will never stay there again. For R1000 per night you get just enough hot water for 1 person, black mold on the curtains, torn curtains, toilet handle needs to be pulled up everytime and dust on all the surfaces. The lights hasn't been cleaned in months! They say it is in a residential area, but the photos portray a lodge with supposedly good views, it is okay... You just see and hear cars driving passed and hear building renovation noises. Nothing special. Maybe for a few hundred rand per night I would have expected this. I stayed in MUCH better places for just a few hundred more. If you can't find anything better and you are happy with the above mentioned, then this is the best place to sleep and leave. For a wooden cabin you also get a fire extinguisher that is WAY PASSED the service date. No more than 1 night, however, maybe your car would be more luxurious to sleep in than this.

Very awesome Cabin Living, situated in Knysna, the view of the lagoon and Thesen Island is spectacular, everything was perfect at this location, the only thing I would recommend the owner should do, is to place atleast 2 cans of gas for the portable gas stove, we only had one and because it's a self catering unit we made all our food on site, after the first day of our three day stay, the gas ran out and we couldn't cook after that. Other than that I would recommend this place as the top 5 places to stay in knysna.

Very affordable accomodation and really good service. We were accommodated late for check-in. The rooms were very very cute and spacious, and the beds super comfortable. It also has braai facilities which is really nice.

Fully equipped for 2 people. Amazing view and a pool. The shower flooded on the first night there and was sorted soon after reporting it. The WiFi sucks though and when we mentioned it to reception, the guy didn't believe us and argued about it until he came into our accommodation and saw that his signal dropped by which time we were over it and his attitude and therefore didn't bother with it. Close to restaurants. Overall a good experiment 👌

Great view. 2 adjoining apartments so was big. Did get cold at night. Quite exposed in windy conditions which led to a bit of sleep disturbance from noise from windows.

We stayed for three nights and it was all we needed We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with the view of the lagoon and the birds Especially the Guineafowls came and ask for food. The bed was big and comfy but we were sure it had bedbugs BUT can’t proof it just the bites on our back and legs. The bathroom was nice with a big shower but the water pressure was bad and it was challenging for my husband as he is tall. It was also nice having the pool to swim in after a wonderful warm day The manager was so friendly and helpful as for the cleaning staff we can’t say that. The towels was so stained and the next set had jik stains again. The sink in the kitchen is an awkward position in the corner which makes it hard to wash dishes. We were here 8 years back and then things looked better. Overall this property need serious restoration Especially the roof and the garden went from amazing to just ok

Enjoyed our stay very much, was our first stop during our honeymoon, lovely place. Thank you to the ladies who still came in daily to clean and neaten up the place. Highly recommend. Stayed in a double storey with a spa bath! Very spacious, neat and clean. So glad we able to book 2 nights additional from our original booking. Great view over the Knysna Lagoon!

We stayed at the lodge from the 24th- 28th December 2022. We had such a wonderful time that we didn't want to leave. The place is neat and clean inside and outside. It is peaceful and beautiful. We lacked nothing. The cleaning service is rendered daily, where the ladies come and clean your cabin. Definitely coming back for more stays. Thank you. I highly recommend Abalone to reset and rest.

We stayed at Abalone from 5 - 8 Feb in a twin-bedded room and were very happy with the accommodation. It had a lovely view overlooking the Knysna Estuary and was in a quiet neighborhood but close to the Knysna Heads & Thesen Island etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Sheila & Sue.

We had an absolute blast! Abalone Lodge is well situated and had the most majestic views of Knysna lagoon and Heads! We were well rested and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will return whenever back in Knysna.

We had the most wonderful eight nights here. We had a room with a view of the lagoon and were treated to the spa bath in our room. Everything is lovely and clean and the staff are so pleasant. It is also in the perfect spot being close to shops and the Knysna gin distillery. Will stay here again when visiting Knysna.

Loved the cabin and relaxing on the balcony. Would definitely recommend. The location of the place is excellent as its very central and most of the cite seeing items are around you and is about 6-8 minutes away any direction. Will definitely go back :-) The staff is helpful and very accommodating.
