This hotel had the nicest, cleanest room out of all the hotels we stayed at during our trip to Thailand (newly renovated?). Unfortunately, we only stayed two nights instead of four due to some of the other guests harassing us. There were plenty of smokers around the pool smoking constantly (every 5-10 minutes), and we are very sensitive about smoke. The receptionists told us that there should be no smoking around the pool and also told the smokers to go elsewhere, which some of them did but others ignored. I asked them if they would mind not smoking in the non-smoking area, since they were occupying the sunbeds next to ours. They said that they would mind. Then one of them asked us if we enjoyed ruining other people's holidays, and all the other smokers applauded like little children. After this, we were no longer comfortable staying at the hotel. They suggested to create a non-smoking area at the pool, however, according to their own rules, the whole pool area should be non-smoking regardless. The hotel did not want to refund us for the remaining two nights, so we had to go via booking support, which eventually worked. All of this could have been avoided if the staff upheld their own rules. I think the hotel itself is great, however, the other guests made it difficult for us to enjoy ourselves. Shame.

Our stay at Baan Samui Resort was excellent from start to finish. We stayed four nights and had a delightful time. We arrived and were welcomed with refreshments and very welcoming staff. The whole resort has been renovated and has only recently reopened since they closed down for covid. The rooms are spotless and cleaned every day, the staff were a delight, the pool was beautiful and there are beds right on the beach. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Their attention to detail and customer service was great and it felt like a real treat to stay here.

Have been fortunate to come to Koh Samui 5 times. Each time we stay at Baan Samui, have never been disappointed, their customer service and attention is amazing. The rooms are lovely and they are located perfectly in Chaweng, only a short walk to all the markets, food areas, and other attractions. The recent renovations have only improved on their existing space. The staff are always friendly without fault and the breakfast, bar, and menu is incredible. We will continue to come back. Thank you Baan Samui you are all amazing 👏 ❤️ 🥰

Summary: A good bargain hotel in a great location with suitable amenities and a very friendly and helpful staff. Booking: We originally attempted to book online, but noticed that all rooms indicate a maximum of 3 people, so we emailed them to inquire about our family of 4. They were happy to let us stay as long as we got a roll-a-way bed for 600 baht per night. We paid a total of 4,800 baht (~$160) per night for our stay in the second half of March. Breakfast is included with this rate and they have a decent all you can eat breakfast area with hella variety and a smiling wait staff. Arrival: The staff is nice (extremely affectionate to children) and the location is right on the beach. They welcomed us with pineapple juice and cookies, which was nice. They also carried our bag to the room. Rooms: We got a Superior Deluxe Room on the ground floor. With the roll-a-way bed, the room is a bit tight with minimal free space. Lighting is poor unless you have the window shades opened. Beds are on the very firm side and the linens are suitable. They have a separate shower and bath. Most common hotel conveniences are provided - safe, mini-fridge, robes, etc. Location: Located on the main street, you can walk to a variety of local or western restaurants as well as any shopping stalls you may want to visit. There are two on premise Restaurants - one in front that has a band most nights and one on the beach that is more romantic. There is a decent pool along with a kiddie pool with lounge chairs surrounding and a wait staff to bring drinks. They have happy hour every day from 4-6pm. The beach in front of Ban Samui is cleaner than other areas on the beach and it is quiet at night...great for families like ours, possibly not so great for the young whipper-snappers. Our only issues: Our main complaint with this hotel is that they allow smoking in public (outdoor) areas. For instance, they allow smoking in the patio just outside the rooms in a shared walking area as well as around the pool. The patio smoking was especially bad on our first night which was near intolerable...it seems to have gotten better after that night. Another minor issue was our door would not lock. They sent mechanics quickly, which was nice, but we had to delay our dinner by 1.5 hours to wait for the work to be completed.

The hotel is stunning and located in a simply perfect location in CHAWENG. Located right in the middle after all the bars and parties. The staff is kind and especially the lovely Sue who helped us a lot. You get excellent value for the price you pay. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the room, but we were just pleasantly surprised by its high standard. The only thing that sucks is the breakfast that doesn't have enough choice and it's hot to sit in a non-air conditioned area. The beach is very clean and quiet and I really enjoyed sitting there on the sofas until the wee hours of the night. I will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it.

Very excellent. 1)The food at the cafe is very delicious. Especially the staff Ms Tan is very friendly and her service is very good. 2) The location of the hotel is next to the Central Samui shopping Mall and within walking distance of around 30m. 3) There are many pubs around the hotels. 4) The hotel room is clean and reasonable pricing of around S$80 per night, I will definitely come back to the hotel again for next trip.

My wife and I both really like this place. The rooms are very nice and it is right on the beach. There is a nice pool which we didn't use and a breakfast buffet for one of the mornings. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating. We have not been to Samui in 9 years but if we come back we would definitely stay here again. The beach is very clean and well kept. It is also 2 km to the one end to the South so 4 km round trip and then you can head north away from the hotel as well for another 10 minute walk or so before turning around.

If you are in Chaweng and want to have a great time relaxing Baan Samui Resort is the perfect place. There is a large swimming pool inside a luscious garden, where you can enjoy fresh drinks served by the kindest staff. Khun Tan is really super nice! Our little Leo loves to play in the two children pools. Moreover they are located on the best part of the beach in Chaweng, just a few steps and you are swimming in the emerald sea. It's a dream place indeed!

Amazing place if it’s possible to give six stars they have it from us. All the stuff is friendly. Rooms are new renovated cleaning is perfect. A big thank you to the general manager and to the mother heart of the breakfast. Mrs Tan ❤️❤️👍👍👍 Thank you and see you soon

I had a great stay here - the food was nice, the location was ideal and the staff were lovely. Ing in particular went above and beyond in helping me to get my shoe repaired. At one point a staff member left my door open which let in an insect, and cleanliness could be a little better (dust on hangers etc) hence the 4 stars but I would definitely stay again!

We simply cannot fault this place, the staff are the loveliest kindest people we met in Thailand and made this place very special. The resort is perfectly positioned on the beach, close to shopping and nightlife. The rooms are modern, large and comfortable, well serviced. Great pool, great breakfast, great mini bar, great cocktails. We had the most awesome dinner on the beach in the most amazing setting! We can't recommend this enough! Thank you so much Baan Samui Resort! We will be back!

Stayed for 2 nights and loved it. It’s location was perfect, on a great stretch of Chaweng Beach that is great for swimming, beach massage and fruit vendors stop nearby. Room was very comfortable with a really lovely bathroom and efficient air con. 2 bottles of water provided each day together with tea and coffee facilities. Beach towels provided by pool. Quite a few sun beds available on the beach together with bean bags. Good size pool too. Joe on reception was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning for longer next year with my family.

This place is paradise. I went initially for two weeks and stayed for over two months. Wonderful staff with a special mention to super, kind and helpful Jeed. It was also always a pleasure to see Fah and Joe who I dealt with at the front desk during my stay and all the staff who were very helpful and professional and made my stay a pleasure I loved meeting the always cheerful Tan and all the staff at the restaurant and Nok and the housekeeping staff who were very efficient and helpful. Fantastic beachfront location, super clean, great location in Chaweng. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended. I loved it

This is definitely better than 3 stars which it says online. I would say minimum 4 star hotel. Location is perfect, rooms are renovated and big, clean and the service is on point. The wifi is strong and it’s right on the beach. The only complaint I have is there’s a weird smell from the vent that comes out sometimes but it’s not a big deal.

Amazing venue. We just came to have lunch and drinks and we were able to relax on the day beds and use the pool. The manager was so lovely and accommodating. Had a great day and will return!

Stayed here for 17 days. Comfortable rooms. Easy walking to town centre. Right on the beach, nice clean pool. The staff make this place work, always smiling and very helpful. Great Irish bar next door and superb aussie restaurant opposite. Ground floor superior rooms great, with separate shower.

Amazing experience! I booked this place carefully as it was our last night after traveling 4 weeks in Thailand and we wanted to enjoy the beach and relax. I’m so glad I chose Baan Samui! The hotel has nice grounds and our Superior Room was spacious and super clean. Very comfortable bed, a/c worked great, mini bar with beer for a very fair price. Pool is pristine, beach was clean and a bit wavy from the refreshing breeze. Ocean looks beautiful! Nice beach bar with good food, no loud music. Very good breakfast with lots of options (yogurt, fruits, cereal, breads, cold cuts, omelete, thai breakfast…). Location is great, not noisy and walking distance to all the action. Just outside you can walk to shops, bars, restaurants etc. Good plus, they kindly offered a shower we could use after check out, so we could stay at the beach until our flight time. The staff is incredible, they surprised us with a “happy wedding anniversary” decoration in our room, and sang happy birthday as it was my birthday when I checked out. Extra thanks to Joe, Film, Ing for making out stay so special!! We hope to come back soon!

This is the second December I have spent on Samui staying at Baan Samui. Absolutely wonderful staff here, great buffet breakfast for a great price. Today the power in the community went out. Within 30 seconds the generators kicked on and my A/C is blowing cold. This resort is an incredible value given its centralized and beachfront location.

  • 3/5 L U. 4 months ago on Google
Bedroom and sun beds are average, bathroom is nice. At checkout they thought we took a bath robe from the hotel, so we waited for an hour for the room service to check our room and they asked us to open our luggage and check for the robe. Was really inconvenient and weird

It's a nice resort close to everything. Rooms are remodeled and clean. But the wall between rooms is not all the way to the ceiling. There is about 1 5 foot big gap covered only with thin drywall and you hear everything in the neighbor's room. My friends were in the rooms with a door between the rooms. You can also hear everything. Thankfully all 4 of us were next to each other so there was no issue. Otherwise the staff was great, the breakfast was good and the location is great.

Had an great 3 night stay at Baan samui resort. It’s bang on the beach in less crowded and less loud area. Clean and well appointed rooms with good breakfast. Plenty of great food and drink options within a 10min walk from the hotel on main Chaweng beach road. Service could be better as we had to wait over an hour for 2 bottles of water. Otherwise, well recommended!

Great location to stay at and have day trips from..place is very near a shopping mall, Central Samui, and yet not nearly in the thick of action that makes it noisy and rowdy at night from the night life. I absolutely love the renovated toilets and shower in the hotel rooms, very clean and new for sure. What i didnt really fancy was lugging my heavy luggage up and down 2 flights of wooden stairs with no help from a porter. That was about the only drawback to this place. Other than that, would gladly stay if i needed an inexpensive place for a couple of nights. Good bang for your buck.

We have stayed at Baan Samui 3 or 4 times, including our honeymoon and a recent trip with our 7 year old daughter. The staff are wonderful and really make the whole stay so enjoyable. The premises are scrupulously clean and tidy but it is an older resort and it shows in some of the smaller details. Do not let this put you off - the showers are hot, the pool is cool, the food is great and the minibar prices are very reasonable. We have stayed in a ground floor superior room and a junior suite and love them both. Those clean, crisp sheets and powerful aircon are perfect for Thailand. Located right on the main strip of Chaweng beach, but with enough buffer to escape the hustle and bustle, it’s nestled between the nightlife of the street, and alongside the beach. Special thanks to Tan who exchanged gifts and handmade cards with our daughter throughout our most recent stay. We love it, can’t wait to get back there. Home away from home.

Really enjoyed our stay here, happy hour was a much loved and anticipated part of our day. The pool was great with short walk through to the beach whats not to love. The staff were really friendly and helpful with booking taxis. Would highly recommend going for an ATV tour on your stay as well.

Nice hotel on the beach. The rooms were always clean. The pool was clean and well maintained. Good security Staff are excellent and friendly Easily accessible by car Entertainment every night Food and drink at the hotel are expensive. The best thing for us was to go to the food across the street from the hotel to Chaweng Night Market Food Center and get food there. Would recommend

A great resort to spend time with family and friends. It’s a pretty causal place that is clean and tidy and reasonably well maintained. The rooms and just right, there is a pool and a couple of bars. At night they often have a free band playing, that’s cool. We’ve been here twice now and definitely recommend it. It not a 5 star place, maybe 3.5. But what they do, they do really well. No BS. If you like staying in a casual place with good staff, and having a simple holiday, this is a great place to come.

The resort is very old and has lots of cockroaches in the bathrooms and bedroom walls. The shower took 30 mins to heat up in the mornings and night, we contacted the staff to fix it or move to another room they said they looked at it and that was normal. We set our alarms half an hour early to turn the shower on to heat up the water and hop back into bed. Watch out when using the shower thongs or mosquito spray they cost extra money when you are checking out, they don't mention this on arrival! The beds are really hard and uncomfortable but all are the same. One night we heard a group of local Thai men rummaging through the bins at midnight and yelling out I was shocked no security came to check it out, I called the staff they sent someone 15 mins later, we felt pretty unsafe. On the positive side they had a beach bar with hammocks to lay on and an amazing tropical view of the beach and aqua water, the prices were okay at happy hour. We usually went to different resorts during the day where the oceans are flat and nice to swim. When we were leaving for the airport we tryed to organise this with the staff, this was very difficult and a dead end we were told to wait out the front until one showed up, this can be up to 35 minute wait it was very stressful to say the least.

It's such a cozy, quiet, cleeeean, colourful and beautiful resort with private beach, swimming pool, good food and wonderful staffs! The restaurant people took care of my toddler's needs too! Everything you want is available right outside. The Central Festival mall is just 2 min walk away. We stayed at the superior deluxe room on the ground floor which was spacious and beautiful. The only drawback was the unavailability of bright lights in the room. Nonetheless, we loved every second of our stay there. Will definitely stay here if I'll visit Koh Samui next. I just miss it so much :-(

This place seems really nice at first glance, although they will rip you off in the end. A lot of service charges they don't tell you about until the end. I was charged 17% more than I originally saw on the menu. Really just bad business. It costs on average 80% more to bring in a new customer then to retain a patron customer. They should tell customers that they will have those extra charges BEFORE they spend 6,000 baht at the restaurant, not AFTER. Besides that, it was subpar drinks & food. Not impressed.

  • 1/5 Koh N. 1 year ago on Google
Not a bad seeming spot. Everything was overpriced but that seemed normal for the location. Thing that was awful was the surprise 17% service charge that came afterwards. Not to mention it took 20 minutes for every drink we ordered. We were getting ready to rent monthly at this hotel but now we won’t go back. Don’t go here. Go down the beach and you’ll find better prices and better resorts

The staff are amazing however the rooms have no noise barrier - you literally can hear the next room using the bathroom - freshly renovated and clean it is a shame about the noise

We initially booked for 1 night as we wanted to make sure we’ll like the place. That 1 night has been extended to 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks then 7 weeks, we only left because our visa was ending soon. We enjoyed the place so much especially the staff service. We got so pampered there. We felt so at home and most staff became our good friends. We requested a room on the ground floor so it was easy for us to walk to the pool which is next to the beach and the restaurant. Our room 1029 was newly renovated and everything was perfect. We have been travelling to different countries for so many years now and we take so much delight from staff who are as friendly and helpful as Baan Samui’s. Special mention to Tan who has gone above and beyond with her service not just to us but to all guests there. She shows her love for her job and their guests so naturally! Kudos to you all. We will surely be back! 🤗💖

It's a great place to stay! It's located centrally in Chaweng Beach. The rooms are clean and spacious with hot water and good water pressure. The beds are comfortable and the AC works as expected. The staff is very friendly and helpful and welcomes you with genuine smiles at the check in. The pool is big and clean and its right next to the beach and ocean.

Just stayed here for 5 nights. Love the vibes here. The staff are all helpful and nice. Restaurant staff make effort to remember orders and guests' likes. The location is very good - just few minutes walk to Central Mall. Property is directly facing the beach. Very good. The owner has renovated the rooms which gives it a modern look. Relax and chill place. Will definitely visit again if in Samui. Good work Baan Samui!

A smallish hotel. Breakfast is slightly limited due to the amount of clients. However, you can still have omelette, eggs to order, Thai & continental breakfast. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Located on the beach also with a lovely swimming pool and direct access to the bustling town, shopping centre and night markets. The staff are exceptional in all areas, friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

👍👍 This place really took us by surprise. Walking past along the beach at night, it seemed a bit touristy, however it had just the right balance.
