A good spot to chill and hang out. Gets especially busy during the Kobe Luminaire in December. A short walk from Merekin Park and Motomachi JR Station. Takes about 30 mins from Shin Kobe Station.

A great park with water playground for kids, a cafe, toilets and seats to relax.

Gathering spot for two major events that memorialize victims of the Great Hanshin Awaji earthquake of 1995: Luminarie and an annual memorial service on January 17, the day of the earthquake. Open year-round and accessible from all directions including an underground passage. Located ocean-side of the Kobe City Hall and a 15 minute walk from JR, Hankyu, and Hanshin Sannomiya stations. An earthquake memorial is located at the far end.

The Annual Kobe Luminaire (held in and around Higashi Yuenchi) is worth to wait for. The last one was in 2019, and hopefully this year it will be held again. Look for the weekly Kobe Farmers Market, a very interesting gathering.

Very peaceful, my partner and I stumbled upon this spot on a weekend, front the outside you would see a lot of hardcore pokemon Go players and as you walk to the center of the park you would notice people doing yoga, kids riding their bikes and family having a good time. It’s very relaxing to sit in the pop up cafe with decent coffee while looking at the locals bonding with each other. It was one of our favourite part of town

It's a very nice corner in a busy city. Not just open space, but also a coffee shop and a book stand in the park. It's only a couple of blocks away from the super-busy Sannomiya area, but with a completely different vibe. It's quiet and calm here, even at the rush hours when office workers and students passing through, it still offers a good atmosphere of relaxation.

There are a few statues of naked people placed around a park. I didn't guess what it means...

I went during the luminarie replacement event. It was beautiful and the performances by local artists were great.

Fun park with a large open grass field. Was full of families and kids playing, looks like a nice place to go with a family for a few hours.

Splendid experience of participating Kobe Luminarie lighting in this season of December. A must visit for your stay in Kobe.

Nice light up. But this is so 1980s? Nothing fanciful but still a nice relaxing walk with the illuminations and the winter chill but this is very 80s. Needed to update it. Maybe more floral and fauna to make the lights up more interactive.
