There were 2 chefs serving us. The first one was quite good. He tepanyaki'd the prawns so good. All of a sudden, the first chef was asked to go away by the second chef. The second young chef did not follow through the procedures as we could see on other tables. This chef just cut the precious Kobe beef very roughly and randomly, and tepanyaki'd the beef like making fried rice. He way overcooked the beef. I told him that's not right as I preferred rare but not overcooked. He was not happy and went somewhere to get another piece of meat, which looked like a piece of blackened scrap. That piece of meat didn't look pinky fresh like the meat they cooked before. He then shouted to me "Rare? Rare? Rare?..." Repeatedly. I didn't dare to eat the blackened scraps, although I paid for and went to another restaurant. Fortunately I found another good Kobe beef restaurant next to the Chinatown street, otherwise I might thing Kobe beef is just a scam. This guy would have damaged the reputation of Kobe, and Kobe beef.

As a tourist, I have been to few Kobe steak restaurants in a couple of years. Tried the moderately priced special Kobe beef set in this shop. Beef was tender but not those melt in your mouth. Just feel like a fast food restaurant so ordering the cheapest lunch set would have been more appropriate. Otherwise, slightly dearer traditional restaurants should give you a better overall experience.

Had a disappointing experience. I don’t usually leave 1-star reviews (in fact this is my first 1-star review) but this place unfortunately fell below our expectations. Beef is good, but seafood is far below standards. Scallop is not fresh and octopus is VERY chewy. Ended up chewing on a single cube of octopus for around 5 minutes and we still couldn’t swallow it! That’s for multiple diners at our table. Spoke to the chef and he mentioned our octopus is undercooked so he recooked our octopus again but still ended up with the same chewy texture. Chef insisted that this is their normal standard and the quality of ingredients is assured. In response to our feedback that the octopus is still much too chewy after the chefs recooked our remaining octopus, we were told to leave a poor review online if we want… Overall, a let down which is quite a pity because I was looking forward to try the food after seeing the positive online reviews

Really nice dining experience and great Kobe steak. Came here for a late lunch at about 4PM and we're seated with no wait. Storefront is a little confusing to find, Google maps had us going to the 6th floor steak land next door, the one you want is on street level. My wife and I tried the 2 Kobe beef options on the menu, both were good but I would recommend spending the extra to get the more expensive cut. Steak was fantastic and it was a cool experience having it grilled in front of you. Did not need to wait at all for the food.

MUST TRY! We ordered extra tenderlion Kobe set as well as the normal Kobe set. FOOD WAS HEAVENLY but do note that even though yhe restaurant opens at 11 am when we arrived at 11.03am, it was already packed and we had to wait for at least half hour! However the food made the wait worthwhile!

It's a gamble to come here. Since there are a lot of people coming here for lunch, 1 chef has to cook many steaks at the same time. I ordered medium rare and my steak came out as medium. Nonetheless, this is a good restaurant. I would love to come back when there are fewer people.

In June 2023, we came for lunch at this restaurant and have to make reservation list which took about 20 minutes. The place was nice and the staff were friendly. We ordered Kobe beef steak set and shrimp and scallop but unfortunately the shrimp was not available which upset us somewhat. The steak set was very good and scallop was fresh. The price is reasonable but not cheap. Good experience

I recently had the opportunity to visit a popular restaurant that is often hyped up among tourists, especially those from Thailand. Despite the expectations, my overall experience here was fantastic and I believe it is still worth recommending to others. The dining atmosphere at this establishment was refreshingly simple and practical, allowing diners to focus on the food and enjoy a pleasant meal. One aspect that truly stood out was the service, which was not only efficient but also incredibly friendly. The staff made me feel welcomed and ensured that my needs were met throughout my time there. If you are visiting this restaurant specifically to try the renowned Kobe beef, I highly recommend ordering the Kobe Steak Lunch. The 150g portion provided was more than enough to fully savor the experience, and still leave room to enjoy other Japanese dishes in Kobe. It's worth noting that the entire dining experience was relatively quick, with the total time spent being less than an hour. The Kobe beef itself, certainly lived up to the hype and was truly worth trying. I had it medium rare, and it instantly became one of the best beef dishes I have ever tasted. The meat was incredibly tender, flavorful, and left me craving for more even after finishing my meal. To avoid long queues and crowds, I would suggest arriving at least an hour before lunchtime. However, one minor inconvenience I encountered was the lack of storage space for jackets. I ended up having to hang my jacket on the chair, which unfortunately resulted in a lingering smell afterwards. Despite this minor setback, I noticed that locals were also dining at this restaurant. This reassured me that it is a reasonably priced and worthwhile option for both tourists and locals alike. So, if you're on the lookout for a memorable dining experience with fantastic Kobe beef, definitely consider giving this place a try.

Highly recommended and will go back again. Steak is fresh and asked to be cooked medium rare which was perfectly done. Chef speaks English and you get some sides too. There’s a place to hang your coat. They have a wide range so you can choose more affordable cuts if you want. We tried the special and special tender. Of course tender is softer but the non tender one is good enough.

We have looked for numerous options for Kobe steak and this restaurant is quite affordable and with good quality beef. You have many option for Kobe beef and we ordered the 180g premium grade Kobe for 4400Y. They ask you the temperature you want your meat and ours were cooked perfectly. If you want to try good Kobe Steak at a good price come here. Try to come off peak time so that you don’t have to wait long.

We ordered the Special KOBE BEEF steak set and Wagyu beef steak set. The sets came with rice/bread, miso soup, vegetable salad, grilled mushrooms, and either coffee/juice. Kobe Beef was soooo soft you won't need much chewing - almost melts in your mouth It was also so savory that you only need salt&pepper. They also gave us a garlicky sauce which made it even tastier. The wagyu beef steak set was soft but not as melts-in-your-mouth soft. I rated 4/5 for service because we weren't seated directly in front of the chef cooking the steaks. I don't know if we could request better seats. I was hesitant to ask because they place diners directly next to an occupied seat. So I thought they don't want to skip the seating arrangement. Kobe beef was so fatty and juicy that halfway through the meal, we felt some dizziness - probably because of increased blood pressure. I highly recommend you bring medicine just in case - I had to take one. 🙈 I also hope they place tea as an option for the drink. It would really help. 😅 Overall, it was a great experience to taste one of the best quality steaks in the world! Date visited: 2/21/2023

Ordered the cheapest 150g steak lunch set. It was really affordable and the beef was of a very high quality. The set came with soup, pickles and a drink. However, I do not recommend the Kobe tender beef for 4500 yen as it only tastes the same as the normal beef and not worth it. The beansprouts were juicy and good. This place is amazing, I would have given six stars if possible!!

Never tasted a steak this tender. Like others say about Kobe beef, it just melts in your mouth. There was a 45 minute wait but worth it for the food atmosphere and fairly reasonable price.

A really great meal for around 3000 yen. The rice was unlimited, and miso soup really tasty. The steak was tender and juicy, but do not expect a melt-in-the-mouth experience at this price point. There are more expensive sets available.

It's my very first time having Kobe beef and boy was I not disappointed! I preferred it over wagyu as I didn't feel jelak (overwhelmed) after the meal. This meal would have cost me more than twice the amount back home in Singapore and it is definitely value for money to enjoy this fantastic meal. Service was prompt and the young ladies who waited on us were very friendly and cleared the used dishes promptly. Even the chef introduced himself and explained what he was a out to do before he prepared the dish, Teppenyaki style. The only drawback is that everyone around me in the subway will know what I have eaten for my dinner! Haha 😄 Definitely recommend beef steak lovers to enjoy it here!

Unique experience at this place for Kobe beef meat. Affordable, perfect service and tasty meat. We took the Kobe meat steak set for 5300¥ per person. We have loved to see how the cooks work in front of us!

First time here! Their Kobe is very very very delicious 🤤 I love it so much! I went during lunch time and the price is way cheaper compared after lunch. We have a set lunch. We got order Kobe beef set lunch that comes with drinks and side dishes. Freshly cooked in front of you. I’ll be there again!

I'd give this a 4.5 if Google allowed. I came to this restaurant for an early dinner. I got here around 5pm on a Saturday, and the restaurant was fairly empty, with maybe 8-10 other people in the restaurant. However, more people arrived soon after, and the restaurant was pretty full by the time I left around 5:45-6pm. I got the Kobe steak set, which came with 180g of steak, rice (or bread, if you choose), salad, a beef and vegetable soup, and various grilled veggies. Even though I didn't get the highest grade of beef, this was still one of the most tender steaks I've ever had. Cooked medium rare, it required little chewing and was buttery and delicious. The steak is cooked in front of you, teppanyaki style, along with the vegetables. The overall service was nice, but did feel quite mechanical and like an assembly line, with staff quickly clearing your plates for the next course. It made me feel a bit rushed. I'd say this is still a good place to try - their beef quality is top notch.

Many tourist but beef was good. Arrived 5 mins before opening and they welcomed us. Staff were friendly and polite. Enjoyed the meal though it was slightly pricey but you’re paying for Kobe beef which doesn’t come cheap.

Had a fantastic Kobe beef meal here. Came here around 2pm+ when the lunch set was no longer available. Ordered the special Kobe beef set at ¥6400 which came with a more marbled 180g steak and the 160g Kobe tender at the same price. The former is a better choice for a sufficiently marbled Kobe beef experience. It doesn't quite 'melt in your mouth' but for regular meaty Angus steak eaters, it's good enough. Service was prompt and friendly. The chef will ask for the doneness preference and will recommend medium rare. Please don't order regular wagyu when you're already here (in Kobe) and just fork out the bit more for Kobe. It's worth every penny and you'll likely not going to get such a better slice of Kobe for the price where ever you're from.

First time eating Kobe beef. Did not disappoint. My beef was tender and melted in my mouth. I should’ve known it was going to be good after the delicious shrimp that was cooked while still alive in front of my 👀. Would love to come back some day.

Wow, the meat just melted in my mouth!! We got Kobe tender steak and it was fantastic!! Best beef I’ve ever had! They cook it right in front of you so you’re not just coming here to eat, it’s an experience as well. You won’t be disappointed 🤤

注文/order: 神戸テンダーステーキ/Kobe tender steak 値段/price: 4500円/yen It was very good and a very popular restaurant. I had to queue 30 mins when I arrive at 11:15am. So, it's best to come eat at off-peak hours. They have lunch sets ranging from 1200 to 4500yen options and I opted for the most expensive one (definitely the most worth it one too). My sister had the Kobe steak (3500yen), and both of us agreed that it is definitely better to pay 1000 yen extra for the tender option. I would definitely recommend this place to try out Kobe beef.

Great price for Kobe beef. I went for the ¥4500 set which included the tender beef steak. Can’t afford the A5 Kobe beef so this is the next best thjng. It was very good! I had it medium well done and it was still soft. Highly recommended

Reasonably priced Kobe beef. The queue was only about 30 minutes when we arrived at around 6pm. If you're looking to try Kobe beef for the first time, this is the place. The "Special" Kobe is A5 grade wagyu while those without "Special" are A4 grade.

  • 5/5 Hiranya S. 11 months ago on Google
When we arrived, there was already long queue, wait around 30 min. The lady receptionist was quite good organized. We ordered Kobe and tender Kobe beef. It was our first time trying Kobe beef and that was super delicious! Recommend!

Ordered a JPY5400 kobe beef set. Beef was very tender and you do get the melt in your mouth quality, at least mostly. I suspect to get the complete melt in your mouth taste you will have to order the special kobe beef set that cost about JPY9000 for 180g.

  • 5/5 D B. 1 year ago on Google
Arrived at 1pm. Waited approximately 90 minutes until I was seated. Well worth it, excellent value for some of the best steak I've ever had 🥳🥳 lunch menu is significantly cheaper!

Recommended to go get a number or queue 1st...and note that kobe beef and wagyu beef is different..if u plan to go for melt in your mouth..go for wagyu set...plan to taste the meaty texture and fragrance of meat..then go fot kobe beef... Teppanyaki style restaurant where customers sit around the chef and let the chef do their work

  • 1/5 Melanie P. 1 year ago on Google
The Kobe beef was ok, but the chef we had was lacklustre, had no finesse and seemed really stressed out. The accompaniments to the steak were pretty ordinary. The grill, kitchen area and exhaust fans were filthy. We had a much better experience nearby for a similar price.

  • 5/5 Yoshio H. 1 year ago on Google
Honestly, I would really recommend this restaurant for a good experience and good Kobe beef. The price for the Kobe Beef Course is not bad. You may find better quality Kobe beef elsewhere but, the experience and the price make it worth it if you aren’t prepared to spend a fortune. I will be coming back :)

  • 5/5 Jean-André M. 1 year ago on Google
As far as food goes, this was a religious experience. And the price is pretty good as well. And how could you pass up having Kobe beef in Kobe? Also gave me some cooking ideas of my own in the one dinner. Best steak I had in a long time!

  • 5/5 Julia V. 1 year ago on Google
Wow! Best meat! Tender and delicious. Also sitting in front of the chef was a great experience. 10 out of 10

Food was ok, not a fan of kobe beef but satisfy the taste buds. However, the restaurant was smokey as hell and their floor were super oily! A friend almost fell on the way in. Everyone is expected to order AT LEAST one menu item (not drinks). As tourists, we just wana try lots of different food so the rule turned us off a little!
