A fantastic Museum in the heart of Konya that is often missed. The Museum has some really Important artefacts as well as the hair from the prophet Muhammad saw.

Don't forget to look up and admire the domes!

Right behind the mosque, there is a museum with beautiful tiles and a tomb.

Great museum showcasing historic Islamic art in an old Seljuk era madrasah. Well worth a visit. Make sure to visit the ornately tiled tombs in a small side room. The mosque connected to the museum is separate but also well worth visiting.

The tile, wood and rug work was really interesting. If you like traditional colors and intricate tile work then this place may be of interest to you. Also, some of the rugs they displayed were extremely old and gave a sense of what life use to be like.

January 2024: Restoration continues. closed to visitors. The museum, which you can visit for free, contains Islamic works from the Ottoman and Seljuk periods. It is the building used by the museums foundation today. It contains beautiful works of art. It should definitely be visited and seen when it is opened. I hope the originals of the works will remain after the restoration.

An unexpected bonus, just round the corner from the archaeological museum. Restored Sufi convent ( monastery?), Kilim collection, saints' tombs..

Very interesting 1200 century's art work .worth a visit.

Nice little hidden gem in the blessed city of the saints. Not busy at all. There are handwritten Qurans and Islamic artefacts belonging to the sages of Islam who visited Konya. I believe there are also two blessed hairs of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ here also. It is free entry and definitely worth a visit.

Limited collection but nice for a short visit.

Nice little surprise we visited whilst going to the Archeological Museum around the corner. Would highly recommend a visit. Contains the Prophet (S) hair and other Islamic artifacts from around Turkey.
