I highly recommend the place downstairs, it’s very nice and cozy. The lemonade is perfect, not too sweet and not too sour. I have had the chicken breast with mushroom sauce, others had the veal and the two-person meat plate, soups and it was all really really good. And the apple pie is just priceless, along with the cheesecake. The staff is kind and they speak English. We will definitely return here.

First and foremost the staff deserve recognition for their friendliness, attentiveness, and willingness to help a customer. From manager to waitress, all excellent. The food was delicious. Always judge a polish restaurant by their pork cutlet, this one tasted great. The mizeria salad is highly recommended as well. Only improvement would be an option for mashed potatoes with gravy.

We ate here at the recommendations on Google. We had a 2 course meal (was too full to eat desert). For starter we had the traditional bratwurst and black pudding starters. These were both lovely. For main we had the mutton and boar. The food was nice, but meat could have been a little more tender, more so the mutton. Overall we were please with the food. Would recommend if your looking for traditional food.

It's a nice restaurant with delicious food. It's strongly recommended to make a reservation beforehand. Prices are not very cheap but the quality is good. The staff is very welcoming. I suggest you to try soup in bread.

The pierogi’s are delicious and I really recommend the soups in the bread. We ordered the spinach pancakes and they were just a heavy piece of dough, wouldn’t order again. Also, the pork tenderloin is nothing special, it is okay. The cheesecake is warm and delicious. One important thing: their service can be a bit slow, so if you don’t mind, it is a good option.

I really enjoyed this restaurant, which has a charming baita-style ambiance reminiscent of the sky slopes. The menu offers a delightful variety of tasty Polish cuisine. It has become a popular destination among both locals and tourists, often resulting in a queue to get in. Therefore, I highly recommend booking in advance or considering off-peak hours to secure a table. The staff at the restaurant is incredibly friendly and helpful, offering recommendations on where to find the best vodka in town. The portions are generous and beautifully presented. However, the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the cheesecake. It was simply divine! Unlike the typical cheesecake, it was served warm, adding a unique twist to its flavor. Needless to say, not a single crumb was left on the plate.

Everything is perfect here - professional service, delicious traditional dishes and atmosphere! I really recommend to visit this restaurant to feel the spirit. Book in advance because usually there are no free places, especially for big companies

Such a surprise. Inside is lovely and very unique. The food was outstanding and the beer as well. Staff very friendly and nice. Really recommend. And the price as well very good . 2 starter,2 main,2 dessert and 3 beers 206 PLN (less the 40 pounds).

Nice restaurant in the heart of Krakow. We choose Morskie Oko among the other restaurants in the area because of the good reviews and they are totally true. It's a charming restaurant and very well decorated, it feels really as at home. Regarding the food, we ordered the traditional soup with sausages and egg, some mushroom pierogi, pork ribs and beef. Everything was well presented and delicious. We also ordered the ricotta cake, but it wasn't as good as the rest. The only negative point is that we waited too long between the main dish and the desert, it was just like they "forgot us" even the place wasn't crowded. 2 starters, 2 main dishes, dessert and drinks for 40€ (acceptable quality/price/area relation). Even so, this is a must in Krakow!

We were lucky getting a table hear late on a Saturday evening, indeed doubly lucky as we had an excellent table upstairs, with the most attentive, yet discrete waiter. The food was delicious and hearty, definitely no chance of starving here... the black pudding was fabulous, rich and well spiced. We spoke with the manageresse after our meal to fix another reservation in another of their restaurants to the west of Kraków for the ne to day. Again a very pleasant exchange. It makes such a difference when, in addition to excellent food, you are welcomed and treated so well. Thank-you so much.

Pleasantly surprising that in a touristy area like this you can eat good quality traditional Polish food. Although I have tasted much better analogues in other places for lower price, in the neighborhood this was best for me. Service and atmosphere is really nice when there are fewer people, but when it gets crowded I want to finish my dish quickly and leave. And it gets crowded easily so I would recommend to reserve a table in advance. Overall good but a bit overrated

Quite touristy in a nice spot. We ordered 4 dishes which are below: - bacon wrapped prunes baked in the oven. This was sensational being crispy, sweet & rich - potato pancakes with beef goulash. Massive potato pancake & a lot of beef in a nice, thick goulash sauce then finished with grated smoked cheese. Would eat this one again - pork tenderloin with smoked cheese & cranberry sauce. This one sounded good but was a let down. Pork was slightly overdone & the size of the dish was tiny. Pork is cheaper than beef but the tenderloin was not big enough, in my opinion - mixed salad plate. Simple, fresh & went nicely with a heavy meal to freshen it up Good restaurant but I wouldn’t bother with the tenderloin.

This Polish restaurant lived up to my expectations 😍after 4 years here I’ve developed a love for Polish food and this hit the spot. Asides from the delicious and hearty food, the restaurant is well decorated and we were lucky enough to hear the live band:) I recommend this place for traditional Polish food:)

Our last dinner in Krakow was at this place and could not be any better. I've had Morskie Oko in mind since our first day here. For our last night we decided to make a reservation (really important, especially on weekends, usually it is fully booked). The place is amazing!!! Different levels, very traditional and romantic at the same time. Wooden decoration and furniture, really special!!! Everybody working here is helpful and very polite, always with a big smile!!! Food is super tasty!! Great portions and good prices. I really think that everyone who visits krakow should definitely come here and enjoy the great atmosphere and really really good food!!!

The interior design was cozy, with some background music to set the atmosphere. Unfortunately the waiter never smiled and looked like he didn’t want to be there, when we would like to pay it was hard to get in contact with anybody to get the bill. The food was okay, not the best not the worst, but the price for that small mount of food and beverage was way to expensive. If you want to go, do it for the atmosphere not the food.

Amazing restaurant- MAKE A RESERVATION. I have tried to walk in many times and it never works without a reservation. The place is mountain inspired and serves wonderful polish food. Great for tourists who want a real authentic polish meal. I had the potato pancakes with goulash and it was heavenly. Also had the duck breast and it was very tasty.

A must visit in Kraków. Come for the traditional polish food stay and enjoy the charming atmosphere. Dishes from beetroot soup (simply the best in Kraków) to juicy pork knuckle. The kitchen showcases the best of Polish cuisine. The atmosphere is based on a country side cabin with wooden walls, fireplaces and local charm without being touristy. Highly recommended.

The most beautiful looking restaurant, a string trio playing music, brick walls and a little pond. Very lovely atmosphere. The food itself was delightful- the best black pudding I've ever had! The pierogi were quite possibly the best I had during my time in Krakow. The service was excellent and quick. Very very good value for money especially for how tasty it all was! I would highly recommend coming here, and would suggest booking.

This restaurant was out of this world. It was like going back in time. The design and details were amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. The Polska sausage was the best one have ever had. Visiting this restaurant is a must for everyone looking for a long lasting food experience.

Morskie Oko at Krakow Visited on 27/9/2019 What an interesting restaurant! There is nothing special about the ground floor when I enter the premises, but once getting down the stairs to the basement, it is a totally different "world. The exposed tumble brick wall, rustic timber steps and furniture, yellow lighting, an open fire place, really provide a very warm, and rather intimate / romantic ambience. However, it may suit people with poor eyesight. There are some longer tables that can join together to make them longer to accommodate large groups. May be the lighting can be turned up a bit brighter, because I have to strain my eyes to read the menu and my food. It is difficult for the serving staff to deal with a sudden surge of hungry group. Under such circumstance, our tour group are satisfy with the service. The food is presented nicely on bold, rugged design plates. I enjoy my beef and lamb to be tender, and not so cooked. Unfortunately, the meat has not quite satisfy my fussy taste buds. The basement is definitely not wheelchair friendly, and going up to the rather small toilet requires going up another flight of stairs.

The best restaurant we went in Kraków! The restaurant itself is really cosy and warm, waitress and and waiters are lovely and kind and the food is... Amazing 🤤. It serves traditional polish food (really good) and waiters are in traditional costumes. We loved it so much that we went twice during our 4 days stay! I think it's best to book before going, there are many people coming and we really get lucky both times to have a table directly when we arrived. (Sorry, my photos are not as pretty as it looks like in real life, it's missing dumplings in the last photo (12 in total) and it's also missing the amazing smell of these plates 🤤)

Belting place. Beautiful atmosphere. Beautiful food. Service was first class. We couldn't have asked for more. Maybe be seated a bit closer to the band but that would be nit picking. It's a place we'd visit again. Very reasonably priced and I'd recommend the boar loin.

Enjoyed my visit here. The food seemed very ‘home cooked’ which I’m not sure is it a great thing or not. In general the food lacks some flavour, but I think this is polish food in general but a lot of what I ate I felt I could cook just as good at home for a lot less. I found the drinks expensive. Atmosphere wasn’t as good as I was expecting.

First time visiting Krakow and I was recommended Morskie Oko by a fair few people that had been. If you’re a Foodie, this restaurant has to be on your list of places to go. If you’re looking for traditional home cooked food, this place has it all! The pierogies were tasty and the the apple cake was on another level!

Great restaurant serving authentic Polish food. It's decorated in a rustic fashion and the servers are in folk costume, great ambiance. The ribs and mixed platter were delicious, when they say the platter is for 2 or 3 they're not kidding.

Delicious food, we had beetroot soup and porcini mushroom soup served in bread. We also ordered mixed dumplings which were really tasty but the portion was huge and we couldn’t finish them. My friend and I were visiting Krakow and really loved this restaurant. Walked in without a booking on a Monday evening and they had some room for us. Traditional setting with large wooden tables. The waiter recommended a red wine which was really nice. We got the mushroom soup in the bread bowl - amazing. My vegetarian friend got the vegan pancakes and she didn’t know what to expect but loved them. I got the meat pierogi which was also delicious - you get lots too! We shared the Apple pie for dessert - another yummy dish. The waiter was attentive, polite and had a good sense of humour. We would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a slightly more refined meal with excellent service and lots of yummy options to choose from!

We came across this place while walking around. The place had been fully booked for the evening so we made a reservation for the next night. We are very glad we did! The atmosphere was incredible and the food was delicious. Our waitress Katarina was very attentive. I had the Highlanders potato pancake with beef goulash and sheep’s cheese and it was alright. My partner had the pork tenderloin baked with smoked sheep’s cheese and cranberry sauce, which was the better of the two for sure! Highly recommend the traditional Polish sausage appetizer and soup with egg and sausage. Those were the highlights of the meal. The mulled cider was also fantastic. Overall, for bread, an appetizer, soup, two main courses, dessert, a mulled cider and bottle of wine we paid $110 (~450 PLN/100 euro) which was a steal. Perfect for our last night in Krakow!

This place came up as the best place to eat in Kraków on a few sites, so we were excited when we managed to get a table, as we were told that it was quite difficult to get one. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, the food was average and definitely not the best place to eat in Kraków, especially considering the prices. The potato pancakes were a bit too dough-y, the meat was nice, though. We also had the Żurek in bread - this was probably the best thing there.

Top notch and 5 stars on everything!. We were in town for only 8 days and we ate here twice which says a lot! Highly recommend the chicken with mushroom sauce, all the soups, the kielbasa, potato pancakes, the yummy sides and of course the pierogi assortment. One of my favorite restaurants in Krakow. My Polish father, who never rates anything highly, gave the food a five star.

Great food and friendly staff! Recommended to reserve so you can sit inside which looks amazingly unique! But otherwise you can sit outside. I tried the beef stew with potato pancakes, wow I just love this dish! The portion was also very big and I ordered a fresh lemonade and side dish. Both were also very big so I felt bad I wasted food 😂

The best food ever!! delicious taste, and also service is excellent!! I had ordered a goulash with potato bread and goat cheese I didn’t know about the portions so the waiter recommended me to ask half portion and as you see in the photo is still being big enough to me. Good value for money, I couldn’t take a dessert but I’m pretty sure are really good as well. Decoration very original, in my opinions a little romantic. Location perfect. Clean and warm place.

What a fabulous place in KRAKOW. Been here many times. The only drawback is you need to book as its that good and popular. Yes, the menu is not fish and chips or curry and rice. Its traditional polish and hell Its good. Give it a try and ask the staff to recommend. You will not be disappointed unless you an alien from Mars. Just off the main square about 2 mins walk.

We had a wonderful time at mroskie oko. We ordered the mushroom soup, pierogi, and beef goulash. All were very very delicious and had original flavor. I would recommend it highly. The place is very well decorated as well with ambient lighting, lots of wood, and interesting cushions.

It was my first time coming to the restaurant and I got really impressed. The whole place is amazing and has a very good atmosphere. I came with a group of 15 people and everyone from the staff was great. Food was better than expected! Daniel, the waiter who was attending our table, was brilliant and kind. He made us feel welcome, even tho we were a bit loud sometimes. We didn't speak polish, only English, and Daniel was also there to help us since he could speak great English. He was great! I will return, whenever I come back to Cracov!

As a tourist I do recommend this place. TRY THE BEEF KNUCKLE!!!!! Call it a touristy area if you want but the food is actually really really good. We went with our Polish friends and they absolutely approved it. Be mindful about the big portions if you are expecting small dishes. Pierogis 🥟 🥟 meat, potatoes and farmers cheese, sweet framers cheese with raspberry are a must. I love my sour kraut ribs soup 🍲 and the cucumber 🥒 salad. But the best of all was the beef 🍖 knuckle.

The environment is amazing. It represents an ancient medieval polish taverna. The environment is featured by warm and historical vibes. The service is very gentle and kind. The food is very good. I had a dish of pierogi with meat with a topping of crispy pork. They are delicious. I had a veal with mashrooms dish. This dish is creamy and tasty. I had a local draft bear. I went to this restaurant two times.

We were recommend this restaurant by a tour guide, who said it was a little different because of its focus on foods from the mountain areas of Poland. The decor is definitely wood-themed and light colours, which is a refreshing change from some other places where you're in a dark corner. For starters, we had grilled smoked cheese with a sweet cranberry sauce and a (large) sausage served with cooked onions, mustard and ketchup, both very good. We also had a beetroot and potato soup, which was light in style and refreshing, with a bit of sweetness. We also tried the potato pancakes with beef goulash, which was also good, although I thought the pancakes were excessively salty. Bread was served with the meal, which not all restaurants did on our visit to the city. The wine list was also good, with several Polish wines available by the glass... Definitely worth a visit!

We love this restaurant. We have come here almost every time that we are in Krakow. The staff speaks Polish and English fluently. It may be a little more expensive than other places in the old city, but totally worth it. They have classic Polish foods, like pierogi, and the restaurant is decorated like a rural, southern ski lodge. It's fun, and the food is tasty.

This was our first restaurant experience in Poland. We were so impressed and had a fantastic night! The decor/vibe is stunning. The food is AMAZING - huge servings but we managed to get through it 😜 we had the grilled sheep cheese starter, hunters pancake with goulash main and the ribs. Also had the draught wheat beer which was gorgeous. Service was perfect. Our waitress Aga was so lovely and wonderful, she recommended some amazing regional vodkas for us to try and we were not disappointed. I'm in love with this beautiful country. Thank you! Xx
