Great casual place with Great house brewed beers. The new brewer really knows what's she's doing. Now on to the wonderful food. Of you like curry go for the cauliflower. With the jam and mustard. OH YA... Scotch egg was perfect and melted in your mouth. Shortbread cookie was soft and buttery. Great place. Breakfast was also yummy here. Tried the "Brekkie" which is eggs, potatoes, a grilled tomato and wonderful selection of grilled sausages. Owner is a great gentleman and is around often introducing himself. Will come back often.

Awesomely authentic atmosphere, very pub style. The house beer is amazing and I can't wait to try more of their menu when it's available, but for their grand opening day it's clear that this will become a staple in the La Mesa Village. Cheers!

This place is exactly what La Mesa Village has been missing! It's super cozy inside, with a fireplace you can sit in front of with a nice pub ale. The food is great and filling, and the shortbread cookies is to die for. Great selection of traditional pub beers and whiskies. Love it!

Fantastic selection of beer on tap and even better selection of whiskey and gin. Impeccably designed interior that even sports a fireplace nook. Perfect location and really outstanding pub. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful and serendipitous surprise to find in La Mesa. Fourpenny House is full with warmth and amazing atmosphere. What a great a festive place. To some, it would see small but this place is large in experience and ambiance. The staff and service is great. The evening I went it was quite busy but my friend and I still go wonderful service and entertainment. I highly recommend their Hunter's Board! So delicious, you can't go wrong! And I also had their Scotch Egg! Equally hearty and delicious. Just wonderful. And lastly but not least, get one of their famous smoked cocktails. I got their Famous Smoked Auld Fashioned. Absolutely delicious and a great drink. The presentation is great. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for great food and experience.

Just had a nice time at Fourpenny! What a great addition to La Mesa. I had fish and chips, and my wife had some sort of toast apitizer... Fish and chips was awesome! Very light and crispy batter... So good. My wife's apitizer meal was really great too. Some sort of amazing bread and paired with home made preserves. But wait, there's more! I also tried the smoked old fashioned... Get one! That is all.
