Stopped by Trapper's on a weekday for a Team dinner reservation. We were a party of approx 12 and we were promptly seated. We ordered the shrimp tempura, veggie tempura and fried calamari for starters and ordered the Trump, Samantha, Rock & Roll, Phoenix and a few veggie rolls of which I remember Cryssi. Out of all the rolls we had here the BEST was the veggie roll - Cryssi. It was great and had amazing flavors. Imagine coming to a sushi restaurant wanting to eat some good fish and liking the veggie sushi roll? Speaks volumes right? I honestly did not enjoy any of the rolls except for the Trump which was okayish good and the veggie roll - Cryssi the best we had that night. The shrimp tempura was amazing and the shrimp would just melt in my mouth it was that delicious. The rest of the rolls did not taste fresh, the sauce did not add any flavor and they were all so meh. The fried calamari was okay and the veggie tempura lacked seasoning. We ordered plenty of drinks too and the drinks were too sweet and did not taste alcoholic to me either. The sake was also okay. Service was super slow. We walked in at 4:45 PM and walked out around 7:20PM and ended up eating for maybe 30-45 mins this entire time while the rest was spent in waiting for our food to arrive. All in all I have had way better sushi else where and I would not recommend this place. I had a terrible experience and the same was shared by my colleagues as well.

A nice place to visit for a quick sushi lunch or dinner. Service was fast and exact. It was a bit pricey, but for a birthday celebration, prices do not matter. 😊

I have eaten here once and it was delicious. I had the Skywalker Roll and the biggest bowl of ginger and wasabi I've ever had! Great service and good prices for the sushi.

This place has got to have one of the best sushi in town, a little spendy, but it's worth it in the end! The sushi you see in the picture is the Rainier roll in case you're curious. 🍣

My favorite sushi place around the area. And even thought you do not eat sushi, they' so delicious that even though you don't like it you will end up liking it. Staff is friendly and they will give you examples if you ask. They are a little bit pricey though but honestly it's worth it. 2022- lunch buffet is perfect 🥰

Trappers sushi is so far my favorite sushi place in Olympia/Lacey area. It's modern, clean and the food is pretty good. We ordered the steak teriyaki, sashimi, calamari, tuna and salmon ningiri, and a couple of sushi orders. They were all delicious.

we absolutely love you guys! but very very disappointed when after a long work day we just want some amazing sushi delivered via door dash... and we get someone else's order! we ordered 3 rolls, Skywalker, thrill, and warrior roll... we got a surf and two Rainer rolls... we literally didn't finish the smurf roll because apparently it's a vegetarian roll, it was horrible, and 5 bucks cheaper than the one we ordered. we ate the other two because I sure as heck wasn't going to drive into town to get the order fixed and be eating even later than we wanted. if there is any way you can fix this experience it would be greatly appreciated.

Had the all you can eat with my family. Worst sushi I’ve ever had. I’ve been to most of the local sushi restaurants and this by far is the worst. Soggy sushi, poorly seasoned rice, rolls falling apart, tempura batter not fried all the way, improper cooking of fish, the list could go on. The waitress was very nice and attentive. However, very expensive for the lack of quality of sushi. The kitchen staff claims to be “sushi chefs” as I heard them say over and over to themselves when in reality it is just a bunch of young kids who have no clue what cooking and sushi really is. I used to be a regular here back when they first opened up and things used to be very good. -10/10 As a fellow chef would not recommend anyone go here if you’re looking for even decent sushi. Better off going to Safeway deli and grabbing that instead. Never going back again.

Sushi is amazing here. This place deserves 5 stars. Amazing all you can eat. A little high on the price but the sushi is definitely worth it. The people working at the sushi bar are very friendly and always helpful with deciding the rolls. Place is awesome. Reason for 3 stars is the waiters/servers are absolutely awful. Never check in. Every time I am there I have to wave them down just to get a refill. Sometimes I have to wait 10-15 minutes just to get my check to leave. I recommend bringing cash so you can tip the sushi bar people separately. Been there 5+ times and have never had a good server.

If you like sushi you're gonna love Trappers sushi! They are a region restaurant with multiple locations throughout Washington and expanded regularly it seems. Their rolls are packed with fresh and delicious ingredients. If you're adventurous they offer and all you can eat options to attempt to sample a portion of their unique and large selection of rolls to choose from. Price is comparable to other sushi restaurants I've tried I believe their all you can eat lunch is around $25 and the dinner option is $35 while individual rolls cost vary. Would highly recommend and plan to keep coming back time and time again!

An absolutly amazing place, the best sushi i had ever had. The staff is amazing, and kind, the food was perfect, and the experience of the all you can eat is like nothing else, and the fish was all fresh! A fantastic experience. And Josh was an amazing chef, and very personable. He talked to us the whole time, and was very kind.

Not too impressed with this location for a Saturday evening/night. Had sushi at this location on a weekday for lunch, before; food was great and service was decent. This time however; seemed like they were a lot more concerned with getting the delivery orders out. Sitting near greeting station you tend to hear too many things... After waiting about 25 minutes for a table, then to be told that it would be a 30-40 minute wait for sushi... really, it's your primary product. After hearing this decided to order off the teriyaki & tempura menu. That was a disaster: horrible cut of steak (tasted like liver) and salmon; both were overcooked and, along with the tempura barely above room temperature. And, don't even get started on the calamari: just above room temperature; like it had been fried and waited 15-20 minutes for the rest of our order. One would think as an appetizer it would have been brought out well before the rest of the meal. Definitely overpriced for the quality of food. Summary: might be a great place for lunch but, avoid as a dinner experience at all cost.

The waitress was helpful to let us know the wait time before we ordered and also steered us away from sushi with avocado, based on their avocado quality that particular day. They have continued to meet their high quality standards in both food and service.

Today was my first time eating sushi. Came here with a few friends and had a great time and great food! I personally had the rainbow which consisted of tuna, salmon, and yellowish sushi. It was very fresh tasting and had excellent flavor. I'm not recalling 💯 on what my friends ordered but I added photos of theirs! I recommend coming here and I'll definitely be back! Side note they do have a small teriyaki menu for those that don't like sushi, but want to take their significant other here that does.

Loved the food. I have never been to a place that offered so much raw fish for the price! I would definitely recommend. Probably the best sushi place I’ve been to in a while. The only thing I didn’t like was how they watch you while you write the tip. I’m sure it’s probably policy but I just don’t appreciate the tactic. Their tipping levels are also 18% 20% and 25% which I found a little high. Other than that great place.

Went at happy hour and they have 3 rolls (with the exception of 2 specialty rolls) for $33 …literally had less than 10 minutes to be seated, look at menu and place the order but the wait staff got it done…friendly, fast and so accurate…food was fantastic…will go back next time I’m in town…!

Always a great experience to do all you can eat sushi at Trappers! Love their Nigiri and rolls, they don’t list it on the menu, but you can order the rolls as hand roll, and if you like seaweed, those are amazing! Highly recommend Mount Si and just simple Salmon Nigiri. The chefs are always very professional, helpful, and accommodating. Servers are always attentive and speedy. A+ team they got at the Lacey location. If anything I have to pick on I would say it’s always freezing in there, I think it’s partly to keep the food safe for longer after it’s prep. So just remember to bring a jacket with you, even if it’s boiling hot outside.

My husband and I had a fantastic first experience at Trapper’s Sushi. Our very friendly server, Alister was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and provided us with great recommendations. We were impressed with Alister’s attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond to make us feel welcome was greatly appreciated. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the restaurant offers military discounts and was grateful for the acknowledgment of my husband's service. Overall, we had a wonderful time and look forward to our next visit!

My wife and I came here for a date night and got the dinner portion for the all you can eat sushi. Absolutely amazing. A bit pricey of course but in our opinion, totally worth it! The couple of guys that served us were also a lot of fun and very friendly. Had a great time and will definitely be back again.

My wife hated Sushi up until this place. Now she loves it. Not what you'd expect in the area with it being tucked away but surprised how good it was. Staff was friendly & professional.

Fantastic lunch happy hours specials! Delicious food. We sat at the bar, and our server/bartender was really great in all areas. Attentive but not annoying, and she did a great job with making recommendations and advising clearly what was on the happy hour specials and what wasn't. Everything we ordered was great! I loved the tuna sashimi and tempura vegetables the most. Gyoza were also great!

Sushi is decent, lunch menu is ok good, but comes out to about 2-3 rolls for the price of AYCE. If you’re not that hungry it’s not worth the cost since you can’t take any leftover rolls with you, and there’s a notice of a charge if you can’t finish it 🤷🏻‍♀️

We love Sushi and had visiting family from Los Angeles, and so all 6 of us went to Trapper's Sushi in Lacey for the 'all you can eat Sushi' -[which wasn't cheap ! ].The reason for our '2 Stars' : #1] the atmosphere, / ambience sucked...inside, it was minimal in color, decoration or warmth, #2] the lighting was extremely dim inside ,[like they were trying to save money on their light bill or something !]..and this made reading the menu challenging and difficult - and also to really see the differences in all the different kinds of sushi's that we ordered, as they were served to us.... #3] The seating was uncomfortable-- a sort of 'counter set-up' with a high barrier between us and the person making the sushi's in front of us. It was very noisy the night were were there, so we had to rather shout our orders over this 'barrier' in front of us at the preparer- [with him often saying: 'What is it that you want ?] We ordered a large variety of many different sushi's that were on their menu, and after awhile, -they were pretty much all tasting the same - [pretty low on the list of the quality of ingredients being used]. We were very disappointed and agreed that one visit @ Trapper's was enough. We had previously been to 'Sushi Train' -off Martin Way in Lacey. The atmosphere there was bright, & cheerful with a waitress taking our individual orders and the Sushi there was Excellent.!!.. We truly wished it had been the same @ Trapper's..

I went here for the first time and we all got the all you can eat. Which includes 2 pages of sushi, appetizers and soup. The service was a little slow at first. But rolls were amazing and unique.

Always a family favorite stop! We were lucky enough for the Chef to share his creativity with us creating a pumpkin. His attention to detail on all of our plates were awesome 👌 thanks to the whole crew, helped make or Sunday together extra special!

The sushi 🍣 was good but it isn't the best quality I have had or presentation. But it was good enough for a second trip back in the future. Atmosphere was really aluminum all over. Too much metal which made it feel more like a come in and get your food and leave type of place. Overall if you want sushi come here I guess.

Went to Trappers yesterday for my first time. I had an amazing and wonderful experience there! I got to sit up and eat my lunch near where they were making the sushi, it was awesome getting to see it! Got to talk to one of the people whom were making it, he was helping me out with what sushi to try as it was my first time ever having sushi. He was very helpful and very kind! And the waiter that I had was also very polite! Definitely giving this place five stars!!! Not only did I have an amazing experience with the people who work there but also the food was amazing! The place was very clean very tidy and I really enjoyed my time there! Definitely going to come back!

Absolute horrible service from the hostess. Getting seated is by no means a priority for them. The great chefs are the only reason it’s even getting two stars. I got on the waitlist for the all you can eat sushi bar and was told that they would call me when it was my turn to be seated and I did not receive a call and they had skipped me in line and despite there being an open and already cleaned spot at the bar they waited an unnecessary amount of time to seat me. The food was good and the chefs do a great job but the hostess not so much.
