"Loong Teng" the Dancing Uncle. Judging from the lunch crowds from 2 visits it's a popular seafood restaurant right by the beach. My review is from 2 seperate visits, the first in January and the latest one yesterday. 1st visit ordered lotus stem somtam, deep fried squid, prawns cooked with vermicelli (Goong Orb Woon Sen) and crab fried rice. Latest visit ordered lotus stem somtam, grilled sundried squid (Yang Pla Muk Det Diao), fried seafood rice and a kids go-to dish - Tom Jood (clear soup with cabbage, tofu and minced pork balls) which I didn't take a photo off. The food on the 2nd visit seems better when comparing the somtam and fried rice. Deep fried squid was coated in a thick batter so u were eating more flour than squid. I thought it would be like a Hong Kong style salt & pepper calamari. Goong Orb Woon Sen came with small shrimps and not a big prawn as was expected. The minced pork balls in the Tom Jood was strangely pinkish like it was uncooked with a bitter after taste and powdery mouth feel. We concluded that the restaurant bulked up the meatballs with flour and pork wasn't fresh so baking soda was added to prolong shelf life. This could be due to a recent surge in Thai pork prices. Grilled squid, lotus root somtam and seafood fried rice was good and recommended. No crab or prawn review becoz saving it for the night. Overall the dishes are a hit and miss here so 3 stars from me.

Super affordable and amazing seafood. The fish roes curry especially, is one of the most affordable and the best I've had so far. The Ryugyu Fish Roes are typically tasteless and even a little fishy but they are so flavourful and almost smokey here (not a flavour bombs you would expect from something like a Salmon by any mean but they are really a head and shoulder above most shop you can find around BKK) The fishes were also excellent. I ordered a slice of fried mackerel in fish sauce and mango salad, they are crisp from the outside while juicy and tender in the middle. But the best by far is the Fried Mullets, they were so light and crisp that even the head can beaten whole. Every single one of them also packed full with roes. You can actually actually ordered a standalone Fried Mullet Roes as a dish but it run out while I was there, which is a good thing actually because ordered the Mullets whole still give you plenty of roes while you also get to enjoy their excellently fried fishes. The mixed plate of seafood was a let down though. The squids weren't as flavourful as I would have hoped, they taste ok but given that this is a seaside restaurant, I do expect a bit more than just ok for seafoods. Didn't order a crab whole but the crab legs they offered on the mixed plate are also disappointing. You can barely taste the crab, even resembled frozen crab meats in a way which is totally not ok. That said, the price tags were also very affordable, every food items here cost around 150-200THB. The most expensive things I've ordered was the Ryugyu Fish Roes Curry which is 300. I am willing to forgive a lot at that price - and they don't even need that much of them. Overall, highly recommended. It's definitely worth a visit if you happened to travel around Chanthaburi coastlines
