It's an outdoor leisure park mostly quiet during the day time. It has some historical features. In my opinion, for what it's worth...I think it is not very well managed. I hear parties with live bands take place in the evenings. Overall, it's an ok location for a mini picnic or for a walk.

It’s an outdoor leisure park which has some sort of significant history to it. It’s got quite a big space. Great location and easy to access. It’s mostly quiet, except there’s an event going on. It’s perfect for family/friends hangouts, picnics, concerts and other semi-large gatherings as well. I wouldn’t suggest it for a date though because I believe people walking around can be distracting (personal preference). There are drinks and food for sale, few domestic animals for beautification and props that explain a bit about the history of the park. All in all, you’d love it there - I believe.

A place to have fun and enjoy Lagos away from the hustle and bustle. You can enjoy some drinks and barbecue at the park. Gate fee is N500. From Obalende, board a bus to CMS and alight at Freedom park. If you drive, it is on Campbell Street. Be careful of driving against traffic though. Pictures were taken at the Park

A very good place to unwind and relax....away from the hustle and bustle of the busy lagos stress during the day, It’s a good place for lovebirds to sit and have a chitchat and in the evening ....Enjoy the live band performance There’s a gate fee of #500 per person. Lastly, arts are placed on display right inside the museum, ponds and gardens can also be seen....not to forget, food and drinks are made available by various restaurants and bars.

Freedom Park is not a new hangout but spending some time away gives more perspective. I enjoyed walking around and viewing parts of our history. From the sculptures/figurines to the busts of different individuals who had an impact in leading us to where we are. I love also the stamps on display and got to see the Ameyo Adedevoh one for the first time. Postage stamps are a thing of the past but looking at them made me wish I could take up philately (just kidding!!) Either way, you can come for the culture or just come hang out, they have quite a few food options... proper food, grills, etc. There is live music and a stage for events. A fish pond (hmmm), snooker table, name it.... Entry isn't free but a very reasonable price. Oh. There was an exhibition going on while I was there. Something called iphotography? I will share some pictures but the artist is great as well.. I have one word for this place... AMAZING.....

Was here for the Lagos book and art festival [LABAF]. A historical park with a reminder of African culture and art especially of the Yorubas. The pool is strikingly amazing. Freedom Park is a beautiful place suitable for hangouts, book readings and birthday celebrations. It has a soothing atmosphere. So Yeah I recommend it for a little leisure and a little rest.

I visited the Freedom Park on a Sunday. On getting there, I paid for the entrance fee, which was #500. Frankly, during the day, there was nothing really much, just the flowers/garden, the pond and the crafts. But while it was getting dark and we were being entertained by some music bands, it got so interesting. Nevertheless, it’s a perfect spot for love birds who would like to have a time for themselves and have fun. Moreover, one can as well get foods over there, as there were varieties of kitchens and restaurants to choose from.

Freedom Park is the ultimate artist delight. Converted from a prison ground at Broad Street Lagos into an open park with strong art slant, Freedom Park has a lot for the eyes to see. From an open bar to exhibition rooms and monuments, there is so much I had to see. And I couldn't see it all. I will have to go back again and again. For writers, it's the perfect place to hang out and write. In most cases, if you are driving, you will have to pay for parking. And there are instances when you have to pay for entry or access to some areas. My friend, Lucia Ikediashi helped with these awesome pictures.

Asides from having laundry, unavailability of tour guides and a state-of-dirt water and fountain systems, it’s really a great place to sight see. The art works are original and intriguing too!

Our visit to Freedom Park during the Lagos Theatre Festival (LTF) was nothing short of delightful. The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with the diverse range of activities, made for an unforgettable experience. Watching the live screening of "Before I Let Her Go" was a highlight of our day. The entanglement love story had us hooked from start to finish, leaving us with much to discuss afterward. Additionally, exploring the hand-made accessories available added another layer of enjoyment to our visit. Overall, Freedom Park offers a rich tapestry of entertainment and cultural experiences that are definitely worth exploring.

I needed to host a mini scrabble competition and of all the places that came to mind, this was the perfect fit. Freedom Park is an Open space, airy, field-like with seats and tables, memorable and historical with nearby relatable food spots. Perfect for small meetings, games, friendly banters, lovers, and family alike. Plus, the historical background of the place makes it a perfect place for plays and theatre performances which happen fortnightly.

I really enjoyed this place. Though just a park, it’s a historic landmark really embedded with fragments of our cultural as Nigerians. So, whilst you have a park to walk, somewhere to eat and drink, you also have beautiful things to see if you find your way to the right places.

Freedom Park is one place I've always heard of but never got an opportunity to visit...and we eventually decided to visit and were not disappointed..its a very cool place to sit out and hangout with friends. Also you tend to learn about the history of how this place was once a Prison for Her Majesty's Prisoners.. such a sad sight... glad ot could be turned into something beautiful now. There is a gate fee of 500 naira on others days when there are events, it is higher.. about 1,000 naira. There are several places you could buy food from, as there is a food court there and a nice sit out area. One nice sight was the Fish Pond, I never expected to find such here.. so much fish..Snappers and some Catfish too.I will definitely be coming back here.

I always enjoy visiting the park; it's like a fine blend of history and art, with a neat and quiet (when there are no events) environment. Vendors here sell food and nice art. If you are around Lagos Island, Freedom park is a great spot to meet with friends.

It's a beautiful park with a few greens and ponds. It's a park with historic significance; it was built on a former prison site. There's a gallery that displays some art and historic artifacts. There's a play stage and two other stages for events. You can also get food and drinks there too.

Freedom Park sits on the grounds of what used to be a prison yard. There's a museum, a play area for kids and a handful food courts. It's a nice place to sit out and breathe a different air if you need a break from the stress of Lagos. If you're a lover of art, you'll also find the sculptures interesting. Entry fee cost 200 Naira for adults and I was told cameras weren't allowed.

Why are they collecting money in freedom park. Imagine just because someone want to relax you have to pay (#500) five hundred naira is not that they will serve you food or drink. Action has to be talking against it
