I'm traveling in the area and went looking for pizza and wings... This is the place I landed on. It was delicious. The waitress (Riley M according to my recipe) needs a raise, go ahead and quadruple her average hourly wage. Make sure to include tips in getting your average and make that her base plus tips on top of that. With that said. The wings were on point. On point! The pizza was delicious even if a style I'm not familiar with. Whatever! It was tasty. Go here. Give them money in exchange for good and services, tip 25%+ at least. Call it a glorious day and retire for the evening into a good coma of happiness.

We started off with the big appetizer with fried mushrooms, fried chicken strip and fried mozzarella sticks. Very good with the ranch sauce but the tomato sauce was ok. We ordered the Supreme pizza thin crust and it was delicious but a little on the salter side! But for the price, you can't beat the great deal!

The last time I was here, I was still in College. My parents came here all the time before they moved away. We came back because of a wedding and after driving all day, Pizza sounded pretty good. My dad suggested we go here and it was pretty good overall. I think the largest surprise for me was the thin buffalo chicken pizza. It was so great! Just the right amount of everything! Just need to find an excuse to visit family again now.

It just doesn't hit the spot that much anymore since they changed the recipe, but it's ok. French onion soup is still legit. Service is good. Edit-in response to the comment left by the owner...having worked at the silo for 2 years previously, when Sandy and Larry owned it, I feel like I should know what the pizza should tastes like. This wasn't what I remember. But what do I know right?

While on vacation our family enjoyed our time in the Illinois area as well as dining at Silo. We were all tempted to try to the deep dish pizza which we all mostly did. It was as good as it looks but not as advertised, dear I say a little over hyped. It pizza on top was good, the crust and base of the pie would have been better is a little more seasoned and less will plain. ( Tastes like water and bread not much flavor). Overall it was a good experience even with our rookie server. He did a great job.

I hate to say but the food is very underwhelming. Years of hearing the hype I decided to make the trip! This was the most flavorless pizzas I have eaten in Lake County. I hear all the people that rant about Lou Malnati's and I believe this is the same crowd that raves about their pizza... Super bland pizza from people that share their coworkers stories about their favorite pizza place. I wish I could stay in line with all the raves and speak highly but the pizza was so bland I took two bites and asked the waiter to box it up. I even ordered the mushrooms to fulfill my appetite and they tasted like water chestnuts. 0 flavor 0 taste. I have to be honest the pizza was totally disappointing. I'm not sure how they made it on Chicago's best? Just my perspective. Hitz, Mike's, Kaisers, Jo Anne's, Joe's and even Quonset dominate pizza in the area. The amosphere was nice and amazing service but I'll never be back. Glad I knocked this one off the list.

Worst customer service experience ever. Would give 0 stars if I could but pizza was actually good so a 1 star is appropriate. Ordered pizza for pickup at 4:30. Was told would be ready by 5. Got there at 5 and was told it would be a couple of minutes. 15 minutes passed with nobody giving an update. Finally asked what is going on and was told it would be another 20 minutes??? So obviously they totally forgot to put the order in but told me it would be a few minutes? At least tell me you forgot and it will take 35 minutes, I would have canceled and left. Food quality alone will not keep a restaurant running successfully, service is needed too and this place lacks that.

A great little local restaurant. The food was good. WE were looking for Chicago deep dish pizza. We were a little disappointed in it. Whilst the topping were ample, the crust was tasteless. It really needed more salt and flavoring. It was very bland. We had the thin crust GF pizza also which was very good and I would recommend. It is a Pepsi restaurant and I am a coke person, if you care. We had the chocolate chip cookie for dessert which came hot and seemed to contain all the salt that should have been in the crust of the pizza. It was good but needed less salt. The atmosphere and staff was great, very friendly and an experience to visit. WE did love the train tracks above our heads with moving trains!

My one star is based on a reservation made for a party of 13. Upon arrival, we were made aware by our server that the manager stated that we were only able to have three total checks for our party of 13. NO separate checks!! So, instead of just enjoying a meal out, we first had to figure out how to divide the three checks among the group. The majority of the group did not bring cash. Therefore, now we have to figure out each person's order, drinks, tip, and taxes. Not what I go out to dinner for. It would have been the responsibility of the Silo to inform us upon making the reservation of their policy. We would have left, but it was difficult to find another reservation at this late hour.

Great establishment for pizza's, appetizers and other meals with a variety of drinks to choose from. The service is fantastic and timely in their delivery. It's best to call ahead for a reserved table on Friday and Saturday nights since they are packed with guests enjoying the food, atmosphere and family members or friends.

Fantastic place! We came here after our boy graduated Navy basic. We went with the deep dish supreme pizza. It was very good. Service was great and the beer was cold and refreshing. Good place to bring your new sailor!

Really good food. If you want deep dish pizza go here. The service is decent until they get super packed (like any other restaurant), and then it gets worse. Thin crust pizza is also really good. Fold over sandwiches are meh, but there are a ton of options to choose from so you won’t be disappointed.

We had our rehearsal dinner here with 40+ people on a Friday night. Several other venues would not take large groups on Fridays, so we really appreciated The Silo’s flexibility. They gave us half of the upstairs, which was perfect for the group. We did salad and pizzas —all amazing as always—and then were allowed to bring in our own dessert. We were also easily able to add a few additional items in the moment to accommodate dietary restrictions. Everyone said the pizza was fantastic, and overall, it was affordable and easy. Highly recommend.

First visit to Silo’s was one week ago. My husband has visited this restaurant for a couple of years while on business trips to the area and this was my first time. We ordered a 14 in Taco Pizza with thin crust ($24.99) to share and it was really really good. Not many restaurants make a taco pizza and if they do, it’s not nearly as tasty as this one. Deep Dish is the specialty in this area but the thin crust on this pizza was perfect. Our server (Kylie) was friendly, very personable and just awesome. The restaurant is really a great environment. There are model trains close to the ceiling, Pennie’s make up the floor in the men’s restroom. The dining room is quite large and there is a nice bar area. We saw several people picking up take out as we were coming in and leaving the restaurant. Out of our whole week visiting the area, this is one of my two most favorite restaurants to experience.

Ordered the appetizer of fried mushrooms. They were quite good with the ranch sauce. Plenty for two - three hungry people. Ordered the Reuben pan pizza, which came with everything you would put on the sandwich, saurkraut, corned beef, cheese, and thousand island sauce. The sauce makes the pizza sweet for me, so I think I would like to sub next time with normal pizza sauce. It was delicious otherwise! You can tell the ovens are seasoned because the crust definitely had its own flavor. I really enjoyed it. The service was great, and the atmosphere was pleasant.

4 5 good 👍. This is a unique place and the food is very good...I will say the highlight was the seafood pizza that's was beyond tasty and if I visit again that's what I want (lol) the combination 1 of wings onion rings and fried pickels this was tasty and great the share, the raspberry Chipotle favorite wings different and good the signature macaroni was just okay...it was cheesy though but not what I expected, I would recommend this place

My wife and I were stationed at Great Lakes and left in April 1979. We had not been back to No. IL until we strayed from a cross country trip to seek out The Silo. The thought of that deep dish pizza was just too much. It was exactly as we remembered it - and the pizza was as great as ever. Cross another item from our bucket list. If your a fan of the "G..." Chicago pizza, it's worth a trip to Lake Bluff for a truly GREAT deep dish pizza.

Great place! French onion soup and deep dish pizza was great! Wish I had room for the dessert.

Service was pretty good despite the busy schedule we had abruptly walked into. Linguini and meatballs were pleasant, my buddy didn’t like the bread provided along with it much but it was fine for me. Beware of the booters.

We went with a party of 11 one of which was a sailor just finishing basic. The food and service was awesome. Our Sailor loved the variety and that she was able to sample all of our food getting a variety of civilian food. I can't say enough about the service my glass was never empty as well as all the food came out correct.

My co-worker recommended Silo's Supreme Pizza and she really hit the nail with this one. The crust is so fluffy and cooked all the way through and the toppings all come together so beautifully, however I did not enjoy my experience there at the restaurant. I placed my order at 6:45 and was told it would be ready at 7:20. I walk in at that time where I ask if the accept both cash and Samsung pay and they say yes. They then informed me I needed to wait until my order would be ready and that they would give me a call. I went back to my vehicle and waited.. and waited.. i called them instead at 7:30 and walked in because they said it was ready.. For my first time being there I was not impressed with the way the manager Hunter spoke to me. I needed to pay both cash and card because I knew I had limited funds in my bank account. I did not realize I was short on money going in and I quickly counted the change in my wallet to see if I could pay the $3.73 balance that was remaining. When I realized I didn't have the funds I apologized to the person waiting behind me and to the lady ringing me up and told her I would have to get a return because I could not pay my balance. She went for Hunter and he spoke to me in a way that was not appreciated. I felt embarrassed and my appetite quickly went away. He still had the audacity to tell me their website had a coupon for $3 that I could use next time. (Please sir, I just wanted to duck and run) I still had to stick around after being told to "bring enough money next time". Having been in that situation makes me want to stay away for a while. The lobby was full and all I really wanted was a return anyway. No one was asking for handouts. I gave him all the change I had and will be giving him the remainder when I gain the courage to go back.
