Wow, wow, wow, if you love a home cook meal (comfort food), you have to visit Mason Jar in Dona Vista, FL. We have eaten fried fish in many restaurants, but their All-you-can-eat fried fish special on Friday was the best we have ever eaten. Generous portions, delicious sides, and food was nice and hot. Our waitress Nicole was awesome (btw, all who were there serving were very nice). She took care of us for sure, but what we loved the most was her happy disposition. We will definitely visit Mason Jar, and you all should too! PS. We went back on Sunday for their All-you-can eat fried chicken 🍗, just as delicious as the fried fish. 😋 and the Coconut Pie 🥧 to die for!!!

The establishment had a ranch theme ,which was interesting. Staff was exceptional, onion of it for sure. The food had a great taste and were large portions. My only thought( and only one) was I had the blackened fish sandwich. Great flavor, but the bun was a soft bun, and the fish was really tender. I was afraid to put it down,as it would fall into many parts. Next time, I will ask for toasted bun. My husband had the open faced beef. He also had the wedding soup, which was outstanding. Really large portion, but he ate it all. Lol. Compliments to the chef. We didn't have to wait long for our food, even tho they were very busy.

Great breakfast. The staff is exceptional, friendly service. Biscuits and gravy were very good! Got a piece of banana cake for our friend. I’m sure it’s wonderful too!

One of the better breakfast restaurants in the area. Service is always pleasant, food comes out quickly and the coffee is constantly refilled.

Stopped by this cute little place after attending the Mt Dora Craft Fair. Our party had chicken parm, spaghetti and grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and coleslaw. All meals were good but my mom wasn't impressed with the salad. We also had desserts including cherry cobbler a la mode, coconut cream pie and chocolate peanut butter pie. Overall this gave me Cracker Barrel vibes. Good southern food. The staff was friendly and refilled drinks before we had to ask. After a long day in the sun it was a great choice for a quick bite before heading home. I would recommend bringing a sweater. I don't typically get cold but it was a bit chilly.

The service was great and the atmosphere was cute. The food however, left a lot to be desired. We ordered spaghetti, fried livers and a Philly with a variety of sides. There was no flavor brought to the table. Everything has a very *straight out of the can* taste. The only thing seasoned was the fries. And while the spaghetti was pretty to look at it had to get sent back and replaced with a different entree. Our server was wonderful and the staff was extremely attentive and gracious in replacing the spaghetti with something more edible. So I'm not just giving one star that I wanted to give.

The place is always packed when I drive by and decided to stop w my hubby on way back from a weekend away. We really enjoyed the country feel and forgot to take pics of food. The staff is very kind and food is delish, we had biscuits/gravy, pancake platter and french toast. Literally ate it all before we realized!

This place used to be pretty good, I tried them again after years about 4 different times. 3 for lunch and 1 once for breakfast, and my God has it changed. The prices are ridiculous for the food served, my first two lunches I tried I got the cheeseburger, for the price I was worried about the portion size so I asked and they said it was huge. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures, but 13.99 for a burger and fries where the patty is smaller than the bun and toppings is disappointing, although it was decent. The 3rd lunch I honestly don't even remember what I got so I guess that says something. More recently I took breakfast to go, (Corned beef and hash with eggs) and Jesus is it some of the most bland food for 12 bucks I've ever paid for. I should've gone anywhere else for the price and portion size of the food. No salt or pepper on the eggs, biscuits and side of gravy seemed uninspired or from a can. Eggs were cooked perfectly other than being bland so I give them that but you can't mess up an egg. I'm skinny guy and the portion here still left me hungry. Also not a fan of asking if I want to leave a tip on a TAKE OUT order. I get someone in the back cooked my food and all but that's still outrageous, no one should ever be asked to leave a tip on takeout/Carry out meals. I'm not being serviced, im not being taking care of. If the food was being delivered or if I had been dining in then sure. But not when I spent my own personal time/fuel to pick up my food on top of already paying the high prices here. Will probably be back eventually if things changed but I don't think they will. This place reminds me of Bob Evans food, it's for old people.
