Absolutely Beautiful! It's small and secluded. The swimming aspect is good for babies to strong swimmers. There are picnic tables, a small beach, & grassy areas.

Count yourself lucky if this is your local community park. While there I saw 2 osprey and a bald eagle. Mt. Rainer is visible in clear days.

The good: unbelievable views of Mt. Rainier over the lake. Easy access for kayak launch, so you don't have to use the boat launch next door and deal with the parking there. Lots of space. Nice atmosphere. The bad: Gets pretty packed on any nice day. If you're kayaking, the boats getting their last kicks before returning to the boat launch next door leave some heavy wake. The ugly: Not much ugly. There's a little broken glass and dangerous debris on the beach in the swimming area, but it's not bad at all.

Wear shoes because from the beach, all the way out in the water...is nothing but rocks. I didn't care for this park. There was a woman on the beach wearing jail ankle bracelet, some people in the parking lot were shady looking and it was just a ghetto atmosphere. Sheltered picnic area, ample parking, benches restrooms, playground, and big fields.

Lots of space, shade and access to the lake via beach, dock or boat launch. It gets busy on nice days, but we always seem to find a small spot on the grass. No fishing from the dock is a bummer, though.

Great park! It has toys for kids. Plus picnic tables for food and stuff to be off the ground. Lots of shady spots to get out of the sun, on hot days. Large beach front that is shallow enough for kids to play and gets deeper for those who like to swim. Has a covered cabana area for large gatherings. And bonus* it has public restroom facilities, one for men and one for women. It is also the location of several City of Lakewood Community Events.

Lovely views, great for a picnic. Not for swimming, however, too many ducks. It does have a playground area and public restrooms available.

Love this place! Always fun and a chill environment. It can use more cleaning up but that also goes for the people that go there they need to pick up after themselves. My kids love it and the water always looks clean compared to other lakes around here.

Very nice. Go just to take in the beauty. The playground is kept up nicely for the kiddos. Bathrooms are alright if you really need to go. Bring your own hand soap😁

The lake was absolutely Poppin! It was so much fun, if you love to swim definitely check this place out but unfortunately I Reserved an undercover area for my son's 8 birthday party and it was the grossest area I've ever seen. Like come'on.

This is a nice, clean lake with facilities. I love to bring my kayak here to explore the different areas while watching bald eagles catch fish. It is a well used community park with swimming and space to hang out with friends and bbq.

American Lake is the gem of Lakewood. And it's accessible via this park and the excellent boat launch next door. The park itself is small but offers a children's playground, picnic shelter, picnic tables, a swimming area and ADA accessible restrooms. It can get very crowded on warm summer weekends so plan accordingly.

Nice venue. Beach is a bit small. During the peak summer times, it gets really crowded even with an additional parking lot. With the park being crowded, there's been incidences of crime with the latest one being August. It's a nice quiet park when it's not buzzing with activities. There's not a lot to play with at the playground, your kid could get bored really quickly, like ours.

Great little lake for an evening sunset cruise. Drop anchor in the cove, play some music, and have a picnic dinner. Perfect night.

Good fishing spot and a great boat launching site. In the summertime this place is beyond packed as it's a popular swimming spot. The crowd here can get a little rowdy and the numerous. There is limited space and you can play hell finding a spot to yourself. However, during the colder months and early spring, it's a good spot to relax with a book or watch the ducks play. Not a bad spot during the weeks before summer vacation.

I think this is a pretty area. The park wasn't too busy, but there were birthdays and graduation parties going on. Nice place, not too loud. Very relaxing.

Best time to go in the summer and enjoy the view and serenity, is the evenings from 3pm, otherwise it’s too crowded in day time. Also it might get a bit rowdy as it gets darker, (younger intoxicated groups), so dont stay out too long.

Nice park with a playground, bathrooms and tables. Lots of trees so the grass area is totally shaded. There is a large swimming area for the lake as well as a boat launch area.

Super fun it has shady spots under a bunch of trees and lots of space on the sand for the kids to build sand castles and whatnot. There's a few kids who throw rocks at the ducks when they go swimming just tell them not to and hopefully they stop thinking it's okay to hurt animals. There's also a really nice playground and a couple really nice spots for a bbq with the whole family

Very packed on weekends (people were circling the lot and getting into arguments over spots at midday). The playground is updated and nice, it's best suited to young kids, size-wise. The restrooms were pretty messy, but it was a very busy weekend day, and that may not be the norm at less crowded times. The beach itself is mostly well maintained and although the lake gets pretty cold further in, the swimming area has a nice shallow depth that lets it get pretty comfortably warm. As we sat there for a few hours, police slowly floated by in their boat several times. I didn't see any problems along the water, but the heightened police presence made me wonder if it was the norm because of the proximity to jblm or if there was something going on that warranted the frequent patrols.

I used to live down the street from here in walking distance in 4th & 5th grades. It's a sweet little spot & now they have some more things there for kids at the playground area. This park has memories & a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier & boats and lake activities to watch.
