A great day. Stunning views of the Oslo Fjord. Easy journey on the T-Bane and a short 10-15 minute walk (up a hill!) to the ski museum. The ski museum itself was interesting if you are into your skiing history. There is a great themed children’s room with slides too. Be sure to go to the top of the ski jump: stunning 360 degree views of Oslo and the surrounding countryside. Don’t bother with the ski simulator…expensive and poor quality. Take a walk to to troll statue near the base of the ski jump for more great pictures.

Amazing ski museum. The ski hill is visible up on the hill from nearly anywhere in Oslo with its unique and recognizable shape. The museum has lots of artifacts and interactive experiences. You also get to go to the top of the slope and look down it as well as a 360 view of the city and surrounding area. Unfortunately, when I visited, it was super foggy and I couldn't see anything, so try to visit on a clear day.

I’ve loved watching ski jumping since I was a little kid, but have never wanted to do it myself. This amazing structure is the closest I’d want to come. I even chickened out of the zipline down. Spectacular views from all over the venue. Highly recommend.

Small place but really interesting. You don't have to be ski expert (I have never ski in my life) to visit the museum. You will learn interesting, unique things and spend easily 1 hour. It worth heading to the jump tower, as it provides extremely good views of the Oslo city and the fjord. Don't miss the opportunity. Highly recommended.

Went there to see the famous ski jumping stadium. Definitely nice place to see the skis and their history. Also try the tower and zip line at the end! Just before that there is also a ski simulator, it is so much fun!

It's not very big but a pretty cool experience nonetheless.

Although museum was closed until Dec 2023, there was enough to see and walk around to keep us amused for around 2 hours. Easy access T bane 1 from Central Odlo. Keep an eye out for the troll opposite for another photo opportunity!

The museum might not be interesting for those who don't ski, but the ski jump is very interesting. It is a superstructure that at its top has an incredible view of Oslo and the surrounding areas. You can only go up with the inclined elevator where there is a simulator which allows the public to visualize a ski jump in the hill. If you are fearless, dare it.

The museum is currently mostly under construction. We used the lift (costing 140) to get to the top of ski jump bridge. From the top we saw whole Oslo.

Amazing place with awesome views! Zip line can be expensive but they have a student discount so remember to bring your student card. Probably the longest zipline I’ve taken in my life and though pricey it was worth it

Nice place to visit to find out a little more about skiing, but still the main attraction is the top view once at the observation deck. (You need to be lucky with the weather though).

Amazinh experience learning the history of skiing in the museum and then the elevator up to the top of the ski jump with breathtaking views of oslo and beyond - literally on a cold day probably would be worse if it was windy! Would recommend going early when it opens at 10 to avoid crowds and have the top to yourself as well as the museum! It is a little bit far out from the centre, probably 25 minutes on the no. 1 metro and then about a 15 minute uphill walk to the museum but definitely well worth the journey especially as its free with the Oslo Pass!

I’ve never even been skiing and still found this museum very interesting. Beyond just that the ski jump itself boasted some exceptions views of the city. Pretty easy to get to by metro from central Oslo and worth the trip

Unexpectedly amazing for kids! There was an indoor playground that was like nothing I’ve ever seen. Great museum! Though it is a ways out, it is worth the visit. It was one of the only things open on a Monday. Be prepared for the hike of your life if you ride the subway and walk up to the museum. If you’re going all the way up, you have to also go up the elevator to see the top of the ski lift to get the best view of Oslo that’s possible. Don’t pay for the ski simulator though. It wasn’t worth the money. Also, if you like the playground, check out the “City Museum” in St. Louis, MO.

Ski jump is not only a very popular sports but a traditon in Norway. The museum was closed for renovation but whatever we saw, it was breathtaking. The view from top overlooking Oslo was awesome. There was a simulter for people who wanted to get some feeling of ski jump. Also there was a zip line right from top to bottom for adventures people. Worth seeing...

Incredible views and great experience. It’s very steep and has lots of stairs. If you don’t like heights, it will be a rough road for you. If you get dizzy I would not recommend because of the steepness of the stairs. It’s quite amazing and to think people go as fast as they can and jump off is astounding. Best views over Oslo.

We caught the train to the ski museum as it's about 9km from the Oslo central station It's fairly well marked from the station and a bit of a climb up the hill to get there Like many places in Norway it only opened at 10am so we had to wait outside in the cold. It would be nice if there was a covered waiting area and they do have a coffee shop which could open a little earlier If you don't know much about skiing the museum won't mean much. There are a few simulations you can take part in The lift up to the viewing tower is quite steep and you can feel the height. Plenty of places to walk around on top , unfortunately mother nature was not kind this day and we could not get the wonderful views I have seen from numerous vlogs

Very nice museum and a great viewpoint to Oslo. If you have Oslo pass, you have free entrance.

This is the place which, when you visit, you understand how important skiing is for Norway, what is the history of skiing in Norway. In the Holmenkollen ski museum, you can get acquainted with the auxiliary long jump competitions and their prizes, what kind of clothing was used. You can watch the competition and see Oslo from above. I recommend going up when the weather is clear and visibility is good. You can try the high-speed lsalom simulator, during the summer you can go down with ropes, extreme sensations, but safe. In the summer, I recommend going to water the miskontakts, walking or running.

We didn’t enter the museum during our trip as it was closed, there hadn’t been a lot of snow so everything was shut and snow machines were working hard, but we had always seen the Ski Jump from a distance on our previous trips to Oslo so finally made the effort to go and have an up close look. When we return we want to go inside and also up the ski jump to look over Oslo as you can tell the views will be stunning.

I am not a skier but I still found this museum incredibly interesting. The wait for the elevator to the top was well worth it for the once in a lifetime views and the ski simulator was a great feature. We really enjoyed our visit here and would highly recommend it as a stop if you’re in or around Oslo.

Amazing place to go on a crisp winters day, Thought there would have been more about the history of skis and boots through the years but was still interesting. We went by train and it was a steep climb up to the museum. Ski Museum is nice to walk through and view from the top provides great overview over the city.

Very nice view after you take the elevator to the top. Unique structure. The ski museum is nice , very small so quick visit. We walked to Vettakollen from here

Very nice museum with the history of skiing in Norway. Don't forget to visit the ski jump tower with amazing view of the Oslo city. There is also a simulation that is pretty exciting. Finally it has an amazing inside playground for the kids.

Schöne Fahrt mit der Metrolinie T1 Richtung Frognerseteren. Von der Station Holmenkollen kurzer Weg zur Schanzenanlage. Unbedingt mit dem Aufzug zur Aussichtsplattform fahren. Der Blick über Oslo lohnt sich.

  • 5/5 Gabi G. 8 months ago on Google

It is one of the most famous places in Oslo. Very well organised place. Nice views of the city. Ski simulator is also installed there now.

Olso Ski Museum is an historic landmark of Norwegian ski tradition. The ski jump is incredible and offers a fantastic view of Oslo and its surroundings. Inside the ski Jump is located the Holmenkollen Ski Museum.

Must visit in Oslo, great view over Oslo on a sunny day and of course the Olympic Jump

  • 5/5 TheRangeSpy 4 years ago on Google
Can’t believe I almost missed this visit. My wife said this is the one place I want to visit in Oslo. Caught the train out from the city, then a bit of short uphill walk. Definitely worth the visit. Great views from the top of the jump, and a good skiing history museum.

  • 5/5 Chandra Kanth R. 8 months ago on Google
I went in evening when this thing is closed. But the ski jump and other things are pretty to see in evening also. This is far from the main city though so plan appropriately

    Nice day up there.

  • 5/5 Yogita P. 1 year ago on Google
Great place for site seeing. You can see a good view of the Oslo city from there. If you are travelling to many other places in the city I would recommend to buy the Oslo pass as otherwise the ticket costs you around 150nok to get into the jump tower

  • 4/5 Tolga G. 2 years ago on Google
Nice walking spot but there isn't a whole lot to see. Go on a sunny day.

    Great views, amazing engineering

  • 5/5 Paweł G. 2 years ago on Google
The tower is a must - outstanding 360 deg. views with the city panorama. The museum is a bit chaotic, just items on display with no leading concept. Models of the ski jump showing its development os the best part of it.

Worth a visit, 20 minutes on metro from central Oslo. Informative museum with history of skiing, lift available to top of ski jump. You have to pay extra for ski simulator, but was good fun!

  • 4/5 Elizabeth T. 1 year ago on Google
Great trip worth it for the views. However be prepared for lift queues which were okay as we went in off peak. There isn't a lot of room immediately on exiting the lifts but from the viewing platform you can't see the slope. The ski museum was mildly diverting

  • 5/5 Diogo C. 2 years ago on Google
Worth for the visit altogether. The museum, the ski jump view, the coffee shop close to the museum, and all the surroundings. Holmenkollen is a must. And you can go 1000 times!

  • 4/5 Kacper T. 2 years ago on Google
The museum by itself is cool, but not so cool to give 5 stars ;). However the view from the ski jump is amazing. You can see whole Oslo from up there. Student ticket costs 140NOK and for this price you can go to the museum and sku jump

  • 5/5 James G. 2 years ago on Google
Great museum. The trip up the ski jump is spectacular on a good weather day.

  • 4/5 Rodri M. 2 years ago on Google
Great place to practice some skiing in the nearest tracks and enjoy the views!
