Opera house is the iconic building of Oslo which is made in a theme of Ice Berg. The structure is beautifully constructed and there is a steep slope which you have to go through and reach the top. Don’t worry it is not slippery and you will enjoy walking there around. A nice and good tourism place which also offers beautiful views of the sea, ships, cruise and many beautiful buildings around.

Great place to see the views of Oslo with free roof access. Great place to watch the sunset over the city and water. Not busy and the architecture is super interesting. Great location in the city centre across from the library and by the central station. Quiet and peaceful place to relax. Good shows inside with a cafe and coat check plus a small gift shop. Very interesting just to look around.

Beautiful inside and out. We didn't see a show, but walked around inside a bit and of course, walked around the outside. It had amazing views of the harbor and a beach and play are for the kids right there. Highly recommend.

It is an excellent piece of architecture. It's worth seeing the way it's constructed not only for the audience coming in the theatre, but also for visitors who just come to enjoy spectacular view. It's located on the seashore and one can walk right up to the roof top which itself was a great fun. We had the chance to go inside and it looked magnificent. Worth visiting…

Great view over oslo here! Such a cool building, we wanted to watch the cliff jumping event, but sadly all tickets were sold. We will definitely come back after covid to watch another event or even an opera! In the evening it’s really calm and not crowded at all you can really enjoy it there! A must see in Oslo! Very cool rooftop! You have to go on top and just enjoy the view. I can just recommend it.

Oslo truly gets identified with this one of the new architecture masterpiece. Opera needs to be grand and this architecture made believe that it is grand and unique. There are many words to describe how beautiful it is but it will always be less. I would just suggest just go , visit, explore, relax and take all in. Best time to visit during day is afternoon when sun is setting, sky is colorful and believe me you will have a best view in Oslo.

This is peobably the best place to be when you are in Oslo. It has some different vibes. Peaceful, scenic and so much more. If you are having a bad day, just go there and enjoy the beauty. Sunsets are the best here.

Beautiful, building! Just an amazing experience. You're able to walk, hangout and just enjoy the view around you. Loved the architecture of the building. The building is very easy to climb (depending on health) and it's not slippery. You do have to watch your step!

The Norway Opera and Ballet is not only an impressive modern building, it is a place with a heart and soul, which you can discover when participating in a one hour guided tour through this House. You will be visiting the backstage and some of the workshops where artists create the decor, the costumes or the hats for the different performances. It is impressive to discover the different workshops involved in creating a fabulous opera or ballet experience. I would warmly recommend you to put a visit to the Norway Opera and Ballet in Oslo on your shortlist of places to see when coming to Oslo.

Very beautifull modern building at the heart of the city. Nice for a walk as it has amazing views of Fjord and the city. You can walk on the roof, just rake time and enjoy the views.

The Oslo opera house is absolutely stunning. When my family and I first saw it we thought it was absolutely amazing. The architecture is so gorgeous and allows for many cool photos at many different angles. One cool thing about it is you can climb onto the roof of the building and look at the entire Harbour of Oslo. Also, when you walk around to the back of the building you can see each room inside. You can watch the people make sets and create costumes. It is absolutely amazing! I 100% recommend that you see it if you come to visit Oslo.

A beautiful building. There were lots of people. Seems like a common meeting spot. Bring shades the cement/marble floor is very reflective. The view of the harbour is breathtaking. We didn't attend any events, but, definitely you'll take lots of photos. Enjoy!

Nice opera house to visit! There is a lot of space around the area so you get to see the city in many vantage points. View is amazing especially in a day with blue skies and sea. Good to go inside the opera house to see the interior architecture. There is a cafe inside, also some restrooms.

I was in the second last row of B stalls but as I had an aisle seat I had a perfect unobstructed view of A Swan Lake by Ekman and I was easily the closest to the bar during the intermission. The acoustics are great, the atrium is amazing and the show was magic. The building is amazing and would be fantastic in winter. Even the surrounds is worth exploring - too bad the gift shop is so limited and closed after the show finished!

The Oslo Opera House is a true architectural masterpiece! From the moment you approach it, you're greeted by its stunning, contemporary design that seems to rise gracefully from the waters of the Oslofjord. The building's sleek lines and pristine white exterior make it an iconic landmark in the city. Inside, the elegance continues with its spacious and modern interiors. The use of glass, wood, and stone creates a harmonious blend of form and function. Whether you're here for a world-class performance or simply to admire the architecture, you won't be disappointed. What's truly remarkable is the rooftop, which is not only an architectural wonder but also offers panoramic views of Oslo. It's a fantastic spot to take in the cityscape or enjoy a leisurely walk. The Oslo Opera House is a testament to the city's commitment to art and culture, and it's a must-visit for anyone in Oslo. It's not just a venue for performances; it's a work of art in itself. 🏛️🎶🌟

We walked up half way and could see so much of the city. We went inside the opera house to use the toilets and the inside of the building is just as stunning as the outside. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the food looked amazing as we walked past on our way out. The toilets are very fancy. It's great that the outside is open to everyone and it's a really nice atmosphere of people there to view the sites and also people just hanging out taking in the vibes.

We hadn't known about the spectacular Oslo Opera House building until actually seeing it, and were blown away with the architecture. Absolutely a must-see when visiting Oslo. The fact that the building design means you can climb to the top of the building and walk across the roof was incredible and so unusual.

I recently visited the iconic Oslo Opera House and was absolutely enchanted by the experience. Not only is this building an architectural masterpiece, but it also houses world-class performances that will leave you in awe. The moment you approach the Opera House, you can't help but be captivated by its unique design. The sloping roof, constructed from white Carrara marble and glass, not only appears as a giant iceberg emerging from the fjord, but also serves as a public space where visitors can walk, relax, and enjoy the stunning views of Oslo and the surrounding water. This truly sets it apart from other performance venues I've visited. The interior of the Opera House is just as impressive. Its spacious, modern design and attention to detail create a welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complements the various performances held within. The main auditorium is not only visually stunning, with its wave-like wood paneling and comfortable seating, but also acoustically exceptional, ensuring that every audience member can fully appreciate the artistry on display. The Oslo Opera House is a must-visit destination for anyone with an appreciation for architecture, design, or the performing arts. Whether you're a seasoned theater-goer or just looking for a unique experience in the city, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this incredible venue.

Extremely crowded with so many people, idk why but I feel less safe around this place especially during rush hour. But thanks that they have a free toilet, people talent show, and great guide tour experiences!

An architectural marvel with stunning views of the city. The performances are world-class, and even if you’re not attending a show, it’s worth a visit for the rooftop alone. A must-see in Oslo.

Lovely place to visit to enjoy the rooftop views and relax on a sunny afternoon by the water, in addition to visiting for an Opera! The building is unique and carries on the tradition of creating beautifully architected landmarks at the center of the city. It is surrounded by a vibrant street scene and restaurants…

A very nice looking building with great architectural flare! I only walked up to the highest point and took photos of the panorama. A bonus when cruise ships are at port. The surface up can be dangerous if wet and near impossible to get up if you don't have soft sole shoes. I didn't see any lifts on the outside ( I didn't go in) so disabled and wheel chairs may have problems going up to the roof top. I only went up in the day, but im sure the night view would be great

The building itself is a masterpiece of architecture that worthwhile be visited. Climb at to the rooftop is the must. There, you will have a view of all the harbour. The architect made the building be an experience for those who interact with it. Inside, the opera works . Clean toilets are available inside. Installations are clean and organised. Guided visits are available. In the rear sides of the building the costumes departments are exposed through glass. It is possible to see how the costumes are created for the opera.

If visiting Oslo don’t forget to stop by here. One of the top attractions. The architecture is incredible and they built an open-roof near the sea. The view there was amazing.!

The Oslo Opera House offers great scenic views of the city and the seas around. It is unique in the sense that one can climb on top of the Opera House (there are no waiting times or tickets to get on top). We were here in autumn and the floor had some good grip, though I can imagine it must be an experience in winter :) We happened to see some families with their prams and it must have been quite an effort to get on top. It is quite popular amongst tourists and is definitely one of the strong recommendations of Oslo.

If in Oslo make a point to not just visit and photograph the exterior of this remarkable edifice by the harbor, but get tickets to any event and enjoy the inside. The seating is great, good acoustics, dark wood paneling beautiful. Tours, drinks & snacks are available.

Came here during the summer a few years ago when this was newly built and it was so crowded. Now that I am back to Oslo for a visit, I took the opportunity to pop by and was delighted to see a considerably less crowded space (even during an evening with performance). I enjoyed the warm interior design and it is such a contrast with the cold motive (the building looks like a floating iceberg from afar - to me at least). The exterior is also very chic, with clean, sharp lines in all the right angles. Despite the cold and biting wind, I braved the elements outside to take some pics and marvelled at the beautiful design. Then, I took a stroll inside and there were some pretty interesting designs there as well. I was amazed at the vast and spacious cost room being just 'out there' and also the rows of lockers for personal belongings. The high ceiling and glass panels gave plenty of space and natural light, even in the gray of early winter. For a floating iceberg, it gives off a very welcome vibe indeed!

Start your Oslo walking tour here. Come out of the Oslo main train station and the magnificent Opera House, horde of ship and ferry, await you here. An architectural masterpiece, and a representation of modern Scandinavian architecture, this place was extremely soothing even with hundreds of tourist around. The clean city views, striking colors of Oslofjorden, and cleanliness, it's a place for the soul.

A must see if you are in Oslo, and affordable by London standards. Less than half the price of the Royal Opera House. Don’t just walk on the sloping roof, come and see a show. I saw the Nutcracker and the ballet productions invariably receive 5 star reviews from the international press.

Beautiful architecture!! I wanted to go there for so long and I was not disappointed. We walked on the roof, took pictures of the city… The inside is as impressive as the outside! There was an exposition in the hall that we were able to see for free. I wish I could have stay for an opera but that was outside my budget at the time.

Nice plat for a stroll , on a sunny day you will need sun glasses as the marble shines quite bright. Small little beach area outside although water looked a bit dirty. Nice and clean toilets that are seemed free to use

The Oslo Opera House is a safe place that definitely worth a visit, especially at night. Located not far from the center of Oslo, it is an attraction for both tourists and locals. It is spectacularly lit and from its roof, which can be reached relatively easily, you can admire much of the city of Oslo.

It's a marvelous building to see, totally accessible and "alive" during the day or night. As a Greek, it completely surprised me the fact that people in the wintertime, swim in the waters of port! Crazy

I asked the receptionist from the hotel what I should see before I leave Oslo and he recommended the Opera House. He was right. Such a beautiful building outside and inside. Very modern. Love that you can walk up to the roof to oversee Oslo. The whole harbour is a nice place to walk and just enjoy the views. Also a dive in the ocean at the "beach" is also recommended.

Nice view to the Oslofjord and the city, also a beautiful building, it should remind the melting glacier in the sea. You can walk at the top and enjoy the view - it is for free. Inside in the building there are also free and very clean toilets.😉

wonderful place . great idea . . everything clean, tidy and you can see that people take care of it and do not destroy it. Oslo's main attraction and well worth a look. a beautiful opera house with a unique appearance, very modern, on the top there is a beautiful view of the entire city (photos show it). also a beautiful view of the sea. the perfect place to spend an evening with art in the capital city of Oslo. a place worth recommending and seeing. interesting interesting. close to everything, gallery and train station nearby, the only drawback is literally crowds of people, but you can bear it

Beautiful architecture in the city. Captivating attraction in front of the Harbour (havn). Free entry to see the building around, but there is an entry fee for some events and some sections inside the Opera house. Oslo central station also very close (Just in front of the opera house). Great place to make good pictures and don’t miss to walk around and above the building and you will get an amazing view of Oslo city from top of the opera house building. Don’t miss to visit here.

The architecture is simply impressive from outside and from inside. Probably the most popular attraction in Oslo since seems to be flooded with tourists. Incredible sightseeing from the roof top. Best place to see a sunset. And lots of seagulls!!! 100% recommendable.
