We unfortunately had our beloved dog pass away at home late in the evening and we didn't know how to proceed. We called them and they were extremely kind and knowledgeable, we brought him in and they helped us set up his final arrangements. We even received his memorial within days. Thank you for your kindness during our saddest moment.

Our poor 9 yr old cocker mix was dying and our vet determined that she had an autoimmune blood disease, IMHA. Her only chance for survival was for a blood transfusion and long term treatment, but because she was in overall good health, we decided to do the best we could to give her a shot at life. Only vet hospitals are in a position to give a transfusion. Our vet directed us to VE + CC hospital (Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care) located on the corner of W. Tropicana and Durango. After a wait that seemed forever because of our stress over our weak, shallow breathing pup, they got her in and examined her. A nurse came to our vehicle (Covid practice is to receive the animals at the car) and gave us an estimate of between $3300 and 6800, which, sadly, was far more than we as seniors on a fixed income could afford. It was for a three to five day stay. When I informed them that I simply could not afford even the deposit (the lesser amount of $3300), they worked with me by giving her the blood transfusion and necessary tests for basic care and kept her overnight for observation for just under $1000. They gave me numerous drugs and were very detailed as to the care she would need. She did well for nearly a week and then required another blood transfusion. I found family and friends to help financially and the front office worked with each of them to make donations to Jazzie’s care. She is home now, still needing medications and a lot of care and attention, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and VE+CC sees her weekly and whenever I feel she needs a blood count and their attention. The care and medical attention provided by VE+CC has been exceptional. They are pricey as are all hospitals, but they were open to assisting in keeping costs down without putting my dog at great risk and accommodating many means by which to pay for the care. They are NOT a charity hospital, but their approach to helping pet owners get the excellent care needed by their beloved pets was incredibly charitable. Jazzie and I enthusiastically recommend VE+CC to all pet owners who find themselves in need of critical care for their animals and compassion for them.

Terrible experience. People at the front desk were rude. I moved here from Colorado where my dog was getting chemo for an aggressive form of cancer. He was responding well after 4 treatments in 4 weeks. So he was switched to chemo every other week. His 5th treatment was scheduled for a Wednesday at this vet where He was scheduled to see an oncologist. Unfortunately, he started to vomit large amounts of blood the Sunday before his scheduled visit. I brought him in and explained that he had already had been diagnosed with cancer and was getting chemo which was working. I let them know he needed to get back on chemo right away. They didn't care. He needed to go through their procedures. They wouldn't move his appointment up 2 days. He "had" to be admitted and test needed to be run. I pleaded with them to please get him chemo right away. The only one who cared was one vet tech (I wish I got her name) she pleaded with Dr Fernandez on my behalf but the vet wouldn't change her mind. This vet didn't even seem to like dogs. She certainly didn't care about mine. I begged them to give him chemo Monday morning. I told them he had already been diagnosed, and treated successfully. He needed critical care, he needed chemo immediately. He didn't get it. They charged me a $2800 "deposit" before they would do anything. And then they put him in a cage and ran tests. He eventually got chemo on Tuesday afternoon. Same dose , same medicine as he was getting in Colorado. He died Wednesday. I'll never know if he would have rebounded if he got chemo Monday morning but I do know waiting until Tuesday afternoon gave him no chance.

They dont care if your pet lives or dies. They want to run unnecessary tests to make money just like craig road. Don't waste your time or money.

I needed to take my lab to get checked for possible ligament tears and was referred to this clinic. When I got there place was pretty quiet, hardly any people there that I could see. They took me in right away and only waited about 5 minutes before two assistants came in to ask some questions about my dog. They were very nice and professional and told me the surgeon would be in shortly. The surgeon came in about 5 minutes later and was very thorough in her explanation of what they found when they examined my pet. Overall the experience was very nice. They got me in in a timely manner and were professional the entire time.

I came in distressed due to my mini schnauzer really struggling to breathe after recent teeth extractions. Most vet offices are closed due to Christmas and I’d driven a distance to this place for help. The two women up front were so kind and quick to do what they could to have my dog seen immediately. They asked a lot of questions to establish the issue my doggy was having. When the vet tech came out during my explanation, she immediately was looking for reasons to send me elsewhere without any willingness to first establish if my dog was stable enough to do that. So she abruptly rushed me back to a room to begin her interrogation, no empathy and the absolute worst energy. In spite of no one being in the waiting room, it seemed pretty obvious to me that I was a big inconvenience in her evening. Rather than ask me to start at the top, she started making assumptions about what was going on, coldly writing notes. When I corrected her assumptions, she told me she wasn’t doing this tonight so I better stop disrespecting her or I can leave. When I shared that I have every right to be upset that she didn’t hear a word I said before and was the one with the attitude, she stormed out of the room. Under my breathe i uttered an expletive (witch with a B) horrified to be treated this way when I’m clearly upset and frustrated by her poor customer service. She then said that’s it and threw my dog’s medication at me. What a horrifying experience. She then proceeded to storm up front like a child having a temper tantrum to tell the ladies up front that I yelled at her and called her a name. A gross misrepresentation of what happened during our very brief exchange. The women up front were so apologetic and helped me by calling a different location that would be willing to help me. Never in my life have I been to a vet and been treated with such blatant rudeness, attitude or lack of empathy. I will NEVER return here. I have no idea what this woman’s name was but she is a stocky framed middle aged woman with shorter hair. If I was her boss, I would ensure she doesn’t work with anyone navigating an upsetting situation with their fur child. She needs to learn how to treat people with kindness but more importantly, stop projecting her misery onto people who are there to helped and heard.

I had to take my dog here for an emergency late in the evening. I was scared to death, and on top of that, my poor puppy was in so much pain! They took him back immediately. And the wonderful women Chelsea and Amber were great to me and my family. They were so kind and showed us to a room. Dr. Tom took care of my little guy like he was his own. And explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. Also, I know there are a ton of other staff I did not get names of that did an excellent job. I can honestly say I wish regular hospitals handled people with this kind of care and compassion. Thank you for everything, and keep up the amazing work!

My dog was in the middle of a very long seizure when I called this Emergency Vet. Around 9pm on April 1st. After explaining the situation I immediately get hung up on. But considering they were the only vet open that was somewhat close. I asked my girlfriend to call them back while I tend to my dog who isn't recovering from the seizure, and is continuing to twitch and ends up having multiple more seizures. She explains the situation again, and gets out on hold for 24 minutes until she gets hung up on aswell. My dog was suffering and it seemed like no one cared at this place. At this point we realize my dog isn't coming back from this so we called up a different emergency vet on W. Charleston which was twice as far. But they helped us right away, we even called to let them know we're almost outside and they met us at our Car to help with my dog.

Just wanted to give you guys a shout out. You're very awesome people. That day came for us on Saturday, the 9th. We had to bring our 11 year old American Bulldog, Scrappy in. Ended up that he had the stomach bloat and we had to make the decision. You guys were really awesome and my wife and I will be forever grateful..

My Chihuahua was attacked by a stray dog. We rushed her to this vet. Her eye was laying on her cheek. She was bleeding so badly I thought we would lose her. Before They told us what They needed to do They had started an I.v. and given her pain medication. They did her surgery and she is doing very well. I recommend they to anyone and everyone.

Let me start by saying my experience has lead me to file 2 complaints against this business...one with BBB and Nevada vetanary board...we took my son there ( baby kitty ) and left with nothing but hopelessness when in fact after going to another Vet the next day ...found him to be just fine ...So Dr Jessica DeRosa the insensitive smerky cocky jerk did nothing but rack up a bill of 1,041 just to come in and say ...take him to another Vet in the morning and see what they have to say ... because things are not looking good...and I can't really see what's going on with his Xrays ...I would have to send them out to be read ( MORE MONEY OF COURSE ) with that condescending smerk ...so I paid over a thousand dollars just to hear that from her ...not to mention a man yelling at my cat to stop screaming well he was doing God knows what to him ...they can deny this ...but my sister recorded it on her phone...now why would he be screaming if I paid for sedation!!!!!!! ...he should have been nocked out ...I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE GO HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY GROWING ON A TREE AND AND YOU WANT NO POSTIVE RESULTS ! They are scammers 100% ...

My 7 month old Yorkie needed surgery for a fractured knee and I was referred to this location because it was the closest. I called the morning of her appointment to ask some general questions. I have pet assure coverage and asked if they accepted it and they didn't. Asked how much the consultation fee was and if it was applied to the surgery fee, no. Then was asked if I was going to keep my appointment because they can put someone else in my spot. The level of customer service was extremely rude because I inquiring about the services provided. So fortunate that the Tropicana location could get me in and my dog surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.

My puppy was cut open by a groomer and stitched upped at our normal vet, then broke his stitches at night and the doctors and staff were so great and got him fixed up right away and were great. Fantastic service and considering it was 2am they were even more amazing. Will always go here. Awesome.

Doctors and techs were very kind and caring during the most difficult time of my dog's life. They gave clear and realistic estimates, and the front desk processed paperwork quickly. Also very good at communicating with my regular vet's office.

they helped my dog get better and that’s all that matters. they took her right away and while I ended up staying there for almost 5 hours I really can’t complain because that’s to be expected at almost any ER. Also fairly inexpensive, it was about the same amount I would’ve spent at my regular vet.

I’m so thankful for the time and dedication for Diezel . Yes I was there a long time but I would be at any ER. Not only did they see and treat Diezel they listened to me. They was very understanding and explained what was going on in detail. The price honestly was on the lower side I felt . I watched the staff when they would come out to others and they still held awesome bedside/parking lot manners. First time here and I wouldn’t hesitate to return again .

They are unbelievably rude. They are way over priced. When I called them and asked them what the price was they said $200 just to see the vet. I asked them what if you can’t help me do I still get charged 200 and she said yes. They don’t care about your pets. They didn’t tell me bring them in and we’ll see what’s wrong with them. Pathetic I’ll never go there again

I had to put my beloved boy down and the staff was great! Dr. Cooper was so kind to me and my boy and explained everything so I would understand the process. Her empathy for me during this painful process was incredible. She handled it perfectly and with such grace. Thank you for making this difficult process so much easier on us both. I am eternally thankful and grateful. I even received a Sympathy card in the mail. Classy and thoughtful.

Worst veterinary clinic in the world. We brought our dog in for some routine tests and they concocted a story about how she was going into cardiac failure. Of course, we were shocked and panicked and wanted to do everything we could for her. Before they even discussed treatment, they wanted $1800 upfront to admit her and said the bill could be as high as $4400 per day. Over the course of the next 24 hours they nearly killed her. They drugged her up on Butorphanol (a morphinan-type synthetic) and Trazodone (an antidepressant) to the extent that she could not eat, drink or walk for 3 days after we took her home. She walked into that place a happy, pain free dog. There was no medical basis for injecting these 2 drugs except to knock her out and not have to treat her. They wanted to keep her another 2 days and we told them that we were coming to get here immediately and take her home. Once we got to the clinic, they put us in a waiting room for 2 1/2 hours without ever coming to speak to us or bring our dog to us. In hindsight, they were probably trying to get her in some kind of shape to release to us, but they had her so drugged up, they couldn't do it. She was incapable of standing up or walking due to the heavy drugs. They brought her out from the back room on a gurney because she was catatonic. When they did finally send someone in to see us, all they wanted to talk about was the bill. They charged us another $2100 before they would release her. No one said anything about the fact that she couldn't walk or even hold her head up. We didn't find that out until we got her home and tried to get her out of the car. I'm convinced that if we had left her there for even 8 more hours, they would have killed her. It took us 3 days of around the clock care before we could even get her eating and drinking and up on her feet. This place is only out for your money and has no regard for treatment of the animals. Do yourself and your pet a favor and stay as far away from this place as you can. There are enough posts on here stating the same thing that supports everything I have stated.

They took care of my dog. However, the receptionist "Elena" was extremely rude and made the experience unnecessarily unpleasant. After calling at around 10:00 pm in regards to seeking care for my dogs allergic reaction, she asked me "not to be rude, but why did you wait until now to call?" (Very rude, and if my dog didn't need the care, I wouldn't have even came to this vet after that interaction) After I showed up and was quickly placed in a private room close to the front desk, I spent the rest of my visit listening to Elena rudely answer phone calls and then immediately trash talk the caller/customer to her coworker after hanging up. Not very professional, and certainly not the endearing attitude that people who are dealing with emergency pet situations want to deal with. I doubt her coworkers want to listen to it either.
