I stayed here for a week. this place needs some improvement even though the prices are lower than average for paris, what i didn’t like: 1. First night my light was broken, I let them know and they told me we can’t change your bed tonight but it will be done tomorrow, and nothing happened,I stayed with broken light 2. The “door” of shower doesn’t even close, when you shower the water comes in the main room! All the ground gets wet 3. There is no kitchen, just an overpriced vending machine that STOLE my money, I payed and the money was out of my bank but the machine said an error happened 4. Actually I really expect that a hostel with reasonable prices doesn’t offer free towel, shampoo,.. and I wasn’t surprised BUT THERE IS NOT EVEN HAND SOAP TO WASH YOUR HANDS, I found it really unhygienic because even public restrooms have it Overall, if you have other options for staying in Paris, it’s better to choose other places (especially solo travelers because the location is a little unsafe in night and also so far from everything and a 10 min walk away from metro)

Cons: - Check in is only in french. Needs reservation number for each guest, but we only got 1 in the email. - No hand soap in bathroom. - The toilets and showers doors don't lock. - Air conditioning did not seem to work. Windows are locked. The room gets really warm at night even if it's only 20 degrees outside. - Very noisy curtains Pros: - Electric locker that can be opened with the pass. - Shower was clean and water was warm. - Curtains do blackout the light and are nice for privacy. - USB ports and lights available in the bunks. - Bed was comfortable. - Available by metro Overall, this hostel did the job, but I wouldn't visit again.

I stayed there for 2 nights, the toilets were very dirty, the sound of the door when closing was so loud that you wake up, the space in the room was very small and there was nothing to heat in the room, so I got sick from the cold, and the blanket that They had given it to me, it had not been washed and I could feel it I suggest you to take soap with you because there is no material to wash your hands. I asked for hot water because my throat hurt and they told me I could get hot water from the toilet.

I stayed here for 6 nights. Location is not bad, metro is 5 minute walk away. I feel this hostel has enormous potential to be excellent but unfortunately (intentionally) lacks too many basic amenities so I couldn't recommend it for more than a night or two. While I don't expect a full kitchen the common room is just a big wasted opportunity and really lacks what travellers require. It is literally only has 4 microwaves and overpriced vending machines which take your money and don't work properly. It lacks a fridge, sink, cutlery and boiling water. You are forced to fill water bottle from the toilet sink and eat junk food, at a restaurant or just what you can microwave bearing in mind no sink, utensils or fridge. It has clothes washers and dryers - even on the longest drying cycle your clothes are not dried properly and as it is token operated you can't just put another coin in to get them completely dry. No irons available. The rooms are ok but not enough attention to cleaning - my blanket smelt a bit and there were cotton ear buds down the side of mattress. Shower filled with old towels and toiletries that don't belong to any current guests. Shower needs a good clean. Rooms have locked windows and are stuffy, a staff member opened the window for me on request. Privacy is good with curtains on each bed, lights and power outlets were nice and big lockers. The toilet has no sink in it, the sink is in the shower room so having a separate toilet is utter useless as you need to be able to wash hands. Most frustrating and petty of all us NO HAND SOAP IN TOILETS they will not provide it. I asked staff and they dismissed it saying it gets stolen like really how disgusting to not provide hand soap. They book large school groups of teenagers so it's very noisy with doors slamming all night and early in the morning. As mentioned it has potential to be excellent but until the owners choose to provide guests with basic facilities such as sink, fridge, kettle SOAP IN THE TOILET I will not return.

Mixed feelings about this place. Rooms: decently clean, well air-conditioned, comfortably big beds. Nice foam textured pillows, not too soft not too hard. Lockers were big enough for a suitcases and a backpack, and as long as the keycards were correctly matched they were easy to use. However, there were some mix ups with the bunks assignments and lockers that caused some confusion. We (ourselves and our fellow guests) easily resolved things ourselves, but it should not have happened in the first place. Bathrooms and toilets: there’s a private shower room (separate shower and sink/mirror) and toilet for each room, both are spacious and very clean. However, there’s no sink in the toilet, so if you want to wash your hands after and the shower is occupied, you’re screwed. There’s also no hand soap provided at the sink. No shower mat, so the floor gets wet very quickly when someone takes a shower. Amenities were minimal but what was provided was good enough. Location: a little too far away from the centre for this price, as it was a ten minute walk from the nearest Metro (we paid 36 Euros per bunk per night, and booked 2-3 weeks before). Hard to find for Uber drivers, which can be tricky. However, supermarkets, bakeries, and restaurants are nearby, so your daily needs won’t go unfulfilled. Staff: the ladies on the staff we interacted with were all helpful with our questions, but unfortunately we cannot say the same for the gentlemen who had the night shifts. During check-in (we checked in around 11pm), the security guy and front desk staff were a little too close and “helpful” as we used the the check-in machine. Credit cards and passports are required, and we did not comfortable that they would reach for our documents too hastily move the process along, even though the machine was simple to use and we did not ask for assistance. At one point, later in the evening, the front desk staff physically took my girlfriend’s debit card from her hand to “explain” how the vending machine worked. Why? It is a vending machine. There should be no reason for him to literally take a card without at least asking first. During check-in, as is standard procedure, he showed us to our bunks and explained how the keycards worked. When we arrived, there was already a set of seemingly used duvets and a charger on one of our beds, and he casually took both things and threw them on another bed (this would later contribute to the confusion with our roommates, who were supposed to occupy that bed). He made no mention of this action, as if it was normal. New duvets were in our lockers, however, given the way this staff member handled this, I cannot be certain that each guest genuinely gets a new set of clean bedding. Other: we did not do laundry here because it is ridiculously expensive (7.5 euro per cycle). The vending machines were also expensive. There is no kitchen nor fridge, so late at night the guests have almost no option but to buy from the vending machines. In conclusion, not the best but also not the worst hostel we’ve ever stayed in, wouldn’t necessarily choose to stay here again but it is a decent last-minute option for budget travellers.

We had a good one night stay a few days ago prior to an onward flight from Paris. The rooms were very good size, the bedding was clean (and really smelled clean too), the bed was really comfortable and I liked the privacy curtains and reading lamp + light and mirror that was individual to each bed. There was also netting on the pod walls to put your items in without losing them and a little shelf too for small items. The luggage space for each pod was extremely good sized - I could have fit so much in there! I also liked that you could rent the additional luggage space near the check in desk as this is what we did for 12 hours when we had to check out but still had a full day before our flight for us to go sightseeing. It was very handy to not have to take our huge bags around and we managed to fit in 2x 40L backpacks plus coats plus 1x 16L backpack all into the same locker for only 2€ for the whole day! The location wasn't amazing for the closeness of touristy bits but the metro line is so quick and reasonably priced that this didn't phase us at all. Our one main con was that we arrived and left at about 11pm on both days. There was no reception desk which made it more difficult to get help as quickly as we needed. There was a bell to press for someone to come down but they took quite a while in all instances that we needed help and looked a bit annoyed that we needed help when they did come. Overall, I really liked the hostel but did think it was quite expensive and that they should have a reception desk.

From the reviews read when booking, you would think it’s a great place to stay. It is not. We had a whole hostel room to ourselves, but without any convenience of having a room to ourselves. We are adults, we should be treated like adults. If you want an experience of Paris pay the equivalent money for a hotel closer to the center of the city and be able to enjoy the getaway like you intended to book. Also not being able to be in the lobby from 12-3 because they are “cleaning” is a joke. There wasn’t cleaning going on.

We´ve been there for 3 nights and it is a solid and very new hostel with resonable prices. We even had a balcony, but we had to ask for its key. Only three problems: My locker was very dirty inside, the blankets were dirty as well and it‘s not possible to turn off the A/C, which led to sore throats

Good air conditioning (was very comfortable inside when it was insanely hot outside), a very clean and modern place. Check-in was easy on a machine (in English) and there was someone to help. The beds were really good and while the location is a tad bit far, the area is completely fine and it doesn’t take that long to go to the center. Bonus points for a really big security locker that you can open with your keycard.

I deleted my previous review cause I don’t think it was fair to the whole situation caused by a person. But… Points to improve: 1)Trust in what the customer is saying and don’t say right away that maybe they will complain again without knowing. 2) Check how many nights the customer will stay before waking them up asking them to leave. Same thing happened to me in april, this time I went to the reception and the girl told me “ sorry its my job” I won’t stay again in this place because they try very hard to give you the french rude experience. The only exception is Leticia, who was very kind both times.

Stayed here for 4 nights, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and there were even a charging port and light next to each bed. The hostel had a place to wash clothes and there were vending machines. One big issue however, our door wouldn’t lock so it meant anyone could just walk in. Also some of the lockers in the room wouldn’t lock either.

Well placed to travel into central Paris, rooms were well kept and secure lockers were a good touch. Showers did leak under the door as they were slightly difficult to lock properly but I wasn't that bothered.

  • 2/5 Marek W. 11 months ago on Google
Bad experience... -The shower door didn't close and the water leaked to the rest of the bathroom and outside of the bathroom. I asked for a mop or an extra towel- but I didn't get anything. In general the shower is designed to leak as it's base is almost flat -maybe one centimeters deep. -BROWN MARKS IN THE TOILETS- in mybroom, the toilet for the floor and the common toilet downstairs... -THE LOCKERS WITH THE BEDSHEETS HAD TO BE ACTIVATED BY STAFF -one roommate came in late and as she couldn't find the staff downstairs- had to sleep without blanket. - MALE STUFF GIVING OFF AN ANNOYED ATTITUDE 🙄 The lady on the other day was nicer tho. -at the end I accidentally locked in my locker ticket together with my luggage. As a result I had to pay 20€ for the receptionist to just open my locker with a key. I see they want to charge extras on whatever they can as a hostel- but at least I would appreciate if it didn't take 15 minutes ... of debating, finally deciding that I will be charged and then waiting for the termination to work... The sleeping area itself is nice as for a hostel- you get a bed with curtain for privacy, your own mirror, electric outlet also USB type. So generally it's okay, I wish they paid more attention to customer service.

The only good thing about the place are its rooms and bathrooms, the rest leaves much to be desired. It doesn't even have the basics of cooking, just a microwave. Check in is quite slow and it is outside the place, we froze for 20 minutes.

The experience of staying in this hostel was rather negative. 1. No kettle, dishes or cutlery. The vending coffee machine didn’t work properly. 2. The doors and the bed curtains are super squeaky. Whenever somebody comes in at 3am, you instantly wake up. 3. Most of the staff are rude, which is typical of Paris I guess. 4. Checking in and connecting to wifi is a struggle.

It was an awful stay. Lost a lot of money. I needed to change my stay because after one night spending over here i barely could live for the rest of the day. It was very dirty, it smelled so bad, people were keep coming in and out the whole night, the doors were very loud, the water of the shower flooded every time and there was a man (someone from outside) in the local room having some vague story asking people for money. I'm used to hostels but this was much worse than I've ever been to.

On getting there, the check-in system was not working, so I had to ring the doorbell to be let in. The reception clerk took her sweet time to finish a call before attending to us, and that took almost 28 minutes! I was able to forgive this as I was in no hurry. I couldn't check in earlier even though I was going to pay because the rooms were not ready, as I was told. I paid for a storage box (3-4 euros, i believe) and stashed my luggage as I had booked a city tour. By the time I returned after check-in time, the system issue had been rectified, and I had a seemless check-in. The room was clean, and the bathroom was spacious with 2 showers and toilet stalls, which I liked (no bathroom hugging, at least). I was on the top bed of the bunk. I would've preferred the bottom, but I don't think guests get to choose. The bed unit was equipped with basic needs like storage, charging ports, and lighting as well. The duvet was thick and satisfactory. In all, it's a great stay if you don't mind hostels. Each bed has a draw curtain, which covers the entire bed for privacy, so that's a plus for this particular hostel.

Probably the best beds I had in a hostel, very private and super modern, I would have loved a normal hostel desk with someone doing your check-in (you have to do it yourself), no towels nor soap, and the lockers are paid. The man who’s there in the day time is the loveliest person tho

Hot, no air conditioner. Super far from everything. At least a ten minute walk to and from the station. Child screaming and I thought kids weren’t allowed in hostels. No soap. No towels. No hand dryer. Awful. Just don’t book.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Based off the photos we were excited to stay here. When we arrived it took a long time to check in because it was all automated. There was an issue and there was no staff to help us. The location was great. The hostel was clean and undated. The sleeping quarters were nice and the beds were comfortable. There is not really a cooking area. Just microwaves. Based off the description we were lead to believe there was more than that. The atmosphere was terrible. All the other guests were older males that were very weird. In the room me and my female companion were in, there were two older men. They would walk around in their underwear all the time, leave the door open to the bathroom when using it, and just stare at us all the time. We asked for a different room but they told us this is what to expect when booking a shared room. Overall the location and building are good. But they lack of staff presences, lack of kitchen, and very bad and weird guest atmosphere. I would not recommend staying here.

Fabulous, very clean, awesome facilities, electrical plugs and USB everywhere, very modern and comfy. Despite it is all computerized, workers there are always here and open to customers. Easy to tell things, can't emphasize enough. Location is not downtown but very practical to go to all places in Paris and quiet, close to supermarket and restaurants/fast food ... The best for me.

I stayed here for 2 weeks. There is only one staff, asian, who offered great service. Not to mention the evening of 29 Dec, the wc has been closed for 2 days so we have no access to water in the louge to wash hands and take water to make coffee. When I asked the guy in the night shift to leave the door of the kitchen open like during the day time, he argued oike he is fighting " you paid 25 euros (which is not true) and that is not open to customers, you should just go to the room upstaires for water".... I asked why the hotel didn't rembourse the access of wc and deduct the room charge as it's included in the hotel facility ? The personnel is very cold and attentive to nothing.. there has been no towel paper, the public WC has been dirty, the loung has been dirty...etc most of the time no maintenance at all. To avoid

The only good thing about this hostel is the bed itself. The location isn’t the best, although it is near a station. Check in was a nightmare because it can only be done on the machines. The common space could not be used to eat past a certain hour. Attempted to do laundry, was told there was no soap. Then we went out to buy soap to use and then were told we couldn’t use it because it was actually the coins that they didn’t have. Staff is friendly, but with the amount of people staying in the hostel they need help, seems unorganized and chaotic.

  • 2/5 Stephen F. 6 months ago on Google
A self-service hostel. Rooms are clean and tidy and the place in general feels new, but the absence of people to ask questions to and little issues (no kitchen, limited towels available for rent, no water taps) make it less than ideal.

  • 1/5 Shreyas G. 11 months ago on Google
The staff was extremely rude and hostile, stereotypically Parisian. The hostel was too automated, to the point that it was unbearably inconvenient. The rooms were the only saving grace. The place also had no kitchen or cutlery.

Took a group of students here on a school trip. Staff were excellent - very accommodating and friendly. Room facilities were modern, clean and practical. Location isn't great but it's still accessible if you're looking for a budget option.

Rooms and bathrooms are clean and get the job done but don't expect a single amenity. No towel, hand soap, body soap or anything of the sort. All cost extra and are available if needed. Common space was good and staff was helpful when needed

The staff's there are life saviours and are super nice and friendly. I went back to Germany and left my keys with Hosho in Paris and the staff helped sent it back to me all the way to Germany. If I had not gotten my keys back, I would have to pay a massive fine in Germany. I don't need to bother trying other places to live in when in Paris because I already know Hosho is the best. In terms of facility, modern decor, cleanliness, air conditioning, pricing and being fully equiped. The staffs are always cleaning the place and floors. That is my respect. The beds are super well built, modern and super comfortable. I will always recommend Hosho, but I must vouch that I lived in a 4 person room with 3 other friends so we did not share with others. If there is one thing that can be improved, it would be please provide shampoo and body wash. I don't remember but the rooms only came with one. So the only flaw is not having enough soap.

  • 4/5 Aaron O. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice and affordable place to stay. My only qualm is that there was no kitchen area or a kettle available for guest use. If you’re visiting Paris with a large group of people or you have a big family, booking a whole room makes the most sense. I stayed here with one friend and it was great, they even have lockers next to your bed where you can lock your valuables and also plenty of food places around.

    1. Cons: — Everything is automated but it's so hard to use that you always need to call an employee for help with tech. — Checking-in is time-consuming. — Staff isn't very helpful. — No social vibe at all. You can't meet any travellers in the hostel. — No kitchen. There are only vending machines with junk food. — No Parisian buildings nearby. The neighbourhood is kinda corporate, but still seems safe. — No soap. No towels (you need to pay for them). — The coffee vending machine didn't work for 2 days, but you still got charged! I got charged twice. Asking the staff, they just replied: "Well, so it doesn't work." 2. Pros: — New, well-designed interior. — Transportation to city center is quick. Although the nearest metro station is 10 minutes walking. — Clean facilities. — Reliable Wi-Fi. 3. Bottom line: — Choose another hostel.

The place is very modern and WiFi connection is fast. Need to make sure to bring all toiletries and a cup/spoon (microwaveable) as it is not provided but to purchase. When we were using the toilet at our room on the first night, we realize it’s smelly although it looks clean. We went to inform the staff and they manage to fix it the next day. Staffs were friendly too! I don’t mind coming back here again :)

Not a great stay. Attendants were not very helpful, check in and check out were both difficult. 7 Euro to do a load of laundry, clothes did not dry fully and we had to buy another 7 Euro laundry packet because the attendant was unable to sell us a dryer token separately. No hand towel or paper towel in any bathroom, no soap in room bathrooms. Location is not great, but price is about right. Beds were fairly comfortable and pods were usable.

  • 4/5 Sheyla A. 1 year ago on Google
The best: tech hotel. The check in is done in a machine. There is no reception table but there is always someone to ask for help. Every little thing has a price. Like towel machine dispensers, food machine dispensers, even soap, shampoo machine dispensers. You mustn't arrive before 4pm because they wouldn't even let you keep your luggage there. Rooms are modern and clean.

Very abusive, miserable experience. Racist, queerphobic, snobby quests. Staff were bratty and constantly passive aggressive. Even antisemetic comments from other guests. Don't touch the vending machines, they will overcharge your card.

Nice little Hostel in Paris - not directly in the Center but easy within a reach (Walking about 45 mins or by Puplictransport). I felt it’s one of the cleanest Hostels i’ve ever stayed in.

DON'T Bathrooms doors don't lock and people that "works" here won't solve nothing. They are all rude. Literally they'll tell you "that's what you payed for, should've gone somewhere else" I'd advice spending an extra 20€ a night for better, more private accommodations

The hostel is not very welcoming or friendly. After staying in a number of hostels around Europe, the automated system of this hostel made me feel isolated and meant that I struggled to find staff to speak to about queries. There is no communal kitchen, bar, events etc. Food can only be obtained from an overpriced vending machine. The location is abit far from the centre of Paris considering the cost and does not feel very safe. This meant that as a woman taking walks around the hostel wasn’t an option for me, I was stuck between either staying in or commuting (40 minutes) into Paris. The room was fine but left much to be desired. It was not clean, upon arrival there was toenail clippings in the sink, water all over the floor, damp on the bathroom ceiling, urine stains all around the bathroom etc. I would venture to question whether the sheets are clean aswell. The shower doors are obscenely squeaky - to the point of waking up everyone in the room when opened. The toilet and sink are also not in the same room. Hand soap is not provided nor are bath mats. Despite the overall modern “look” of the hostel scratch slightly beneath the surface and it is unclean, inhospitable, and uncomfortable. I ended up ending my stay here early and booking into somewhere else last minute because I couldn’t bear staying there any longer. If this review can put even one person off staying at HoSho I will be glad of writing it.
