The location, with beautiful nature all around. The delightful breakfast and dinners onsite. Most importantly, the "staff", if you would call them that. They eventually become new friends and ones you hope to visit with again. If you are thing about staying in southern France, think about the Provence region and this gem of a place!

We stayed there 2 nights, couple with child. Wonderful setting and an intimate feeling in this paradise that feels like home. You just don’t want to leave! The owner and staff are lovely and helpful, just adding to the family spirit. Don’t expect hotel type service as this is more of a b&b, but if you need anything just let them know and they will oblige. Rooms are beautifully decorated and nothing is missing. Chill in the outside lounge or by the river, and enjoy the bliss of being surrounded by Provençal nature. Location is great as it is relatively close to the main attractions of the area. Also, dinner at the restaurant is fantastic, lovingly prepared by the owner’s son who doesn’t hesitate to engage with his hosts.

Beautiful charming house and accommodations. Large Grounds are studded with sculptures you can explore. A river flowing in the back where you can take a bottle of wine to relax. You can have a picnic right where you stay! Staff are very charming and accommodating for all gluten, nut food allergies. Rooms are spacious and very nice. Bed is soft though. AC will make the hottest provincial summer nice and cool. Staff will clean and replace towels and turndown. Pauline is awesome and shared some amazing stories. Poppy, the owner, also has great experiences to share and is very gracious and caring. Showed us the house and rooms, gave us pointers to places to visit and overall was great host. We had a four course dinner during our stay that accommodated to our allergies and was excellent. Some things you should NOT expect from this place 1. this place is not near stores or other conveniences, so don’t expect it. It is a rural retreat and go for the peaceful and charming country villa experience 2. Not cheap. It is expensive, breakfast is $20 and minimal for example. 3. Not a hotel so There are no overnight staff and front desk. You can come back anytime and unlock the front door. We had a challenge when we were not able to open the door. I had to call out names around the building before some one came by to open. Having an emergency number with you will be good idea. Finally Maya the golden retriever will kill you with her begging eyes!

Just perfect for a few days away from it all. The constant sound of running water from the streams and river add to the calm, relaxed setting. Good food, nice people, amazing art. And a couple of friendly dogs thrown in for good measure

This place is magnificent. Forget about hotels, B&Bs and the like: this is a completely different experience, where you feel you’re a personal guest of Mme. Salinger—a delightful host: smart, witty, ironic. The house is beyond beautiful and full of history and good taste. The pool with its fig trees, the garden with its works of art, the isle between the river and the canal, everything adds up to this dreamy and enchanted atmosphere. The 3 days we spent at the Bastide restored my body and soul, and I’m sure I’ll be back some day!

Good spot for dinner, solid prix fixe menu in a beautiful space. There are art exhibitions and beautiful spaces to check out.
