My husband visited here last time he was in Liverpool and said he had to take me there for an amazing selection of cakes. Well I could not have imagined how in love I was with the savarin cake I had! It was incredible and I think about it at least once a week now. It had a delicious sugar syrup all over the exterior and inside was filled with an amazing cream. I would 10/10 go again and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Had the Summer fruits Pancakes and a full English breakfast, both were lovely and very good for the price. Would definately come again.

We have been here for breakfast takeout a few times and sat in once when we had a little more time. unfortunately it’s a little way from work so I don’t come as often as I would like to. I tried my husbands strawberry stacked pancakes and I can honestly say I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I got speaking to the owner on one of our visits last year. They work really hard for what they have achieved and it shows. Hence the reason we continue to return. The cafe has a really chilled and calming vibe and we have never been disappointed with any of our orders. Thank you for great food we will see you again soon. Boyfriend got me a birthday cake from here. It’s the praline cream. I’m not a fan for creamy chocolate cake or anything along the line. But this cake here is just at such a right balance that I finished the cake before I know it! Perfect amount of sponge, cream, chocolate spread and crunchy bits in one bite. It’s probably one of the best! Can’t wait to try more flavours from the place

Popped to this cafe when we first got to Liverpool. Two of us shared a Club Sandwich with chips and the third person had scrambled eggs on toast. We also all had a milkshake each. The food was reasonably priced and the Club Sandwich was enough for two of us (although, we both only wanted a small lunch). The milkshakes were also delicious: I had an Oreo one and it was spot on! There are some amazing looking cakes near the till too, but we didn't have enough room this time around.

Absolutely loved it here! Went there twice and each time we were pleasantly satisfied. The staff was super nice, with a smile on their faces, great coffee and breakfast. Not to mention their desserts, so delicious.

Just wow. I absolutely love baklava and kataifi and this place is the best in the whole liverpool to go to. The prices are very small the staff is extremely friendly! Also their macaroons are unbelievable as well! You can choose to stay in or take away. If you are ever in the mood for something sweet and different would strongly recommend it!

Ordered french toast with bacon and maple, and chorizo scrambled eggs. Both were big portions and tasted amazing!! Great way to start the day. First time coming here and will definitely be back ✌️

Lovely wee café alongside some nice eateries. Came in for a coffee and a cake- wasn't disappointed. The coffee was delicious and the cake was worth every penny. Good space with plenty of tables, inside and out, nice staff and very friendly.

Came upon Wake & CATE by accident, so glad we did. We loved it. Food is made fresh, so it was lovely and hot, not to mention delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back; this will be our place to come to when we come to Liverpool.

One of the best breakfast and desserts I've had. The pancakes were absolutely beautiful. The bread was nice as well. There are a lot of choices for the cakes at a very affordable price.

Well I came across this place one morning whilst looking for a coffee in a place that wasn’t full. It is clearly waiting to be discovered and what a discovery. The decor is ok and some of the furnishings especially the padded bench’s look tired which isn’t a fantastic first impression. But the service is excellent beyond levels that you could expect in a big name coffee shop. The coffee and food is really good too. Very impressed. A little gem in Liverpool. Friendly staff and delicious fresh sweets, cakes and Greek pastries. Not to talk about the iced cappuccino and the iced espresso in the summer. Worth a visit if you haven’t already been. Nice brunches as well. Thank you guys

When I lived in city centre we used to hang out here with my Greek friends almost every day!! Now I still visit from time to time and their already outstanding food menu is getting better and better!! A place like this was missing from Liverpool for years and when they opened in 2016 they made the difference!!

The cake was very yummy and didn’t need to preorder. I was also able to get a birthday message in store.

5 stars for the food - toasted sandwiches are easily the best I've ever had. Only 3 stars for service though - while most of the staff are fine we keep getting the same woman serving us who seems to have a major attitude problem - pretty much anything you ask her seems to get a huff and roll of the eyes - because it's far though trouble to add some onion to a sandwich! But at least the food is amazing - tonnes of amazing looking cakes! So on the whole I'd recommend but just ignore the rudeness if you get this waitress... Update - I've had a reply from the owners explaining about the difficulties with staff at the moment and its made me realise I was being a bit harsh. The food is top notch and most of the staff are nice so I shouldn't really mark them down because of one staff member. So I've put the mark back up to 5 stars which the food more than deserves :)

Nice place the cakes are tasty but coffee was normal. The only thing was the service as we waited a long time before getting served. I know the shop is quite busy but I think they need to look at there service strategy as it's not effective.

So this is a cafe worth finding just off of the main high street. Large comfy chesterfields to relax in and the cake portions are huge.

This place is the best kept secret in Liverpool. Had breakfast today here with my wife normally we just have toast and their delicious cherry jam, but as we had more time today we had the pancakes and greek yoghurt and cherry jam and brioche bun with scrambled egg, streaky bacon and thick sausages and i have to say wow just everything so fresh and cooked to order and latte was so creamy, we also took away feta cheese and spinach pastry pie which my wife devoured for her lunch. So lets not keep the Wake & Cate a secret anymore and lets all enjoy the their pleasant hospitality with their great food together and i would happily queue for table here in the future.

Excellent on all fronts. We ordered macarons which are the best I've had in the UK. A Kinder Bueno mousse which is incredibly moreish, they've really struck the balance right with that one. A couple of coffees of excellent quality which is rare, my Americano came in a sleek, classy mug served with hot milk on the side. The service was outstanding too, staff were full of smiles and very attentive. Credit to the team, so glad we stumbled across this gem!

Excellent cafe. Slightly more expensive than some other coffee shops but the cakes are incredible and really fresh, possibly the best I've ever had. Great choice, very clean, and friendly welcoming staff. We will definitely return. Soon I hope.

Wonderfully friendly staff, soothing atmosphere, and delicious food! Went in with a headache and grumpy with hunger, left well fed and smiling. They warn you on the menu that, since everything is cooked fresh, wait times may vary, so I was prepared for a much longer wait, but it was some of the speediest service I've ever received. Prices are excellent too, I can't wait to go back and try more!

Popped in today with my wife two young girls. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the cafe was nice and bright and comfortable. The options cake wise was amazing and every single one that we had looked and tasted incredible. The photos on the website don't do it justice. You can really tell that someone has really put a lot of passion and care into every one of them. The coffee was good and the prices reasonable, | really cannot fault the place! Well recommended.

My favourite coffee shop in Liverpool. Lovely staff and amazing food. I revisit regularly. Good atmosphere for meeting friends but also for working.

I went around 1pm, when it was quite busy due to brunch. There were still a few tables free so it was easy to take a seat and order some food. I had a full english breakfast which was very tasty. Double espresso was also good, slightly less bitter than I'm used to so may be a good option for people who prefer softer blends. Staff were friendly despite being very busy. Would recommend.

Good basic cafe. Would benefit from a slightly more cosy interior and whilst the food is quite basic it's good quality and reasonably priced.

Great coffee and cake. Toasted sandwich was cold. I should have sent back but couldn't wait for a replacement. I'm sure they would have replaced without a problem.

Lovely cozy place, I went there with my Greek friend and she was totally right - I had to try it! As an Italian I'm quite picky with my coffee and I was pleasantly surprised! The staff is smiling and kind - actually Greek. The place is warm and spacey and extremely clean. I took some club sandwiches to eat at home - totally worth the price, nice packaging, and a ration perfect for a 20 stone guy like me. Recommended.
