A sense of decrepitness. There is nothing much to the room and facilities. Clean, no argument there, but a bleach smell lingers. The double bed has a mattress that probably was left on a sidewalk by a previous owner who upgraded. However, cheap. You got what you paid for.

Disgraceful customer service booked a room at agreed price two weeks in advance (confirmed by text) called to confirm booking two days in advance told room available on arrival called and was told room not available but could have a different room at higher cost

Lovely little guest house not too far from the city centre where there’s lots too do, my only real issue was the shared bathroom as we had someone from the floor below coming up to use the bathroom on our floor so at times made it difficult to actually go too the loo with and with 2 other rooms on that floor if everyone needs the bathroom at the same you can imagine how annoying that can be even using the loo and on the floor below but otherwise it’s lovely and the staff are very polite and friendly

Moving to UK for the first time was hard but the cordial welcome and stay at Glenfield Lodge initially made me feel better. The owners and staffs were so kind, friendly and good. The service is excellent and location is near to city centre. Rooms and washrooms are clean and tidy. The place felt so safe.

My other half has stayed and being on call to him to see that the bedding has hair and had a whole as if a cigarette has been put out on it,, the kettle is mouldy,, I personally believe that this is outrageous,, so unhygienic 🦠

The OWNER KATHY met us on arrival with a friendly welcoming introducing herself to us ! She then shown us to our room which was beautiful decorated and very spacious with en-suite bathroom which was a good size very modern and spotlessly clean nice white fluffy towels Kathy cooked us a delicious Full English breakfast and there was a variety of other alternative to choose from fresh fruit ,yogurts ,toast, croissants etc 😋 Location was perfect few minutes walk to the town centre and harbour and coast we went in a couple of local pubs which was very friendly! I booked the lodge for my children and they stayed there comfortably for 8 days. Mr Bob has been very cooperative throughout. I strongly recommend others to stay there.

Considering it's affordability and size, Glenfield is an unusually clean lodge. I especially like how friendly and helpful the staff I met was. I can't recall his name but he was a slim, tattooed white man who made this extremely tired guest feel comfortable in the first minute. About services, my only reservation was how cold it became sometime in the night, the heater must have gone off. I was too tired to know when it was fixed but it was. I woke up feeling a lot warmer. Also, no one answered the bell at the first/second ring. This must be a recurring problem as there was no response until I called 'Bob' whose number was attached to the door. Fix the heater, fix the bell and Glenfield is a perfect lodge for any weary traveller.

Great location. Only a mile from town centre. Plenty of free parking. Check in was smooth and efficient and made to feel welcome. Rooms clean and perfectly adequate. Great price!

Lumpy bed and toilet seat not fastened. Feindly staff member took 7 min to answer the door even though he could see me. Strange stale communal stench.

Fab hotel, hotel and service were very good. We had all we needed and more. Twin room was a good size and very clean and comfortable. We stayed 4 days and will be sure to book here again next time.

I recently visited this guest house situated in Leicester whilst a friend was staying in the area. We were immediately greeted on arrival by the loveliest gent called Bob. He was very courteous and helpful in showing her to her room. Bob makes you feel very welcome and provides everything you need. The location is ideal as it is central to the city centre but quiet enough to get a good restful sleep.

I loved it!! Room clean and tidy, the sheets and towel were actually white, bed suuuper cozy (i slept better than home), toilet and shower fresh and clean. Plus that was nice and quite and i could focus on my studies. I would recommend it to everyone!! And congratulations to the people that are doing the cleaning. They're doing a very good job!!

Lovely place to stay. The owner Bob could not of been more welcoming and friendly. Does everything he can for his guests. Booked a single room for 3 nights but upon arrival was shown to a lovely double room as it was available. The shared bathrooms and shower room are all modern and up to date. Would recommend and stay again

Lovely place. The triple room is very comfortable and spacious with heating matress and with self service kettle and teas. Clean and quiet. Dave welcomed us to the property and we couldn't ask for a more charming and friendly host. Thank you so much!!

We reserved a twin room for two nights at this lodge and we were assured that it would have an attached bathroom but the room we got was completely different and had no attached bathrooms. The lodge has the feel of an old student accommodation. Cleanliness was terrible. No room service or toiletries were provided for two days. After check-in, when we tried to reach them to complain about the issues they were not available. We tried contacting them even after checkout but still unavailable. It was a horrible experience.

Great hotel for an overnight stay! Really easy to get into town, easy to get in and out of the building (with a key of course). Check in and check out was super easy and the staff were helpful. For their prices of course don’t expect total luxury but the rooms were comfy, clean, and had everything you’d need for an overnight stay! Shared toilets and showers unless specified otherwise but I never had any issue. There was always a toilet or shower available as far as I saw. Perfect for students or post-grads coming back to visit, affordable but still comfortable and safe. Would definitely stay again!
