But a particular experience left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Had come in out of the rain to with for my wife and the front desk staff told me in very uncouth terms that I couldn't wait for her in there. We had a dinner date and I didn't want my suit drenched, but I guess I had to leave and that virtually ruined the day for me. Outside this one time, all other visits were memorable!

Went to a function there. Can't book a room as its full of immigrants. Asked after at the bar if we could get a coffee or tea. Apparently 'The Grand Hotel' doesn't have tea or coffee. Just gobsmacked!!!! Used to go alot with my late Mum and Dad many years ago. It was wonderful, like the Ritz in Leicester but now my goodness what a disappointment it is now.

I didn't stay as a guest, we attended a convention there. And the place was absolutely stunning, so many pretty details. The rooms were really spacious, and laid out so disability access was nice. There were lifts as we as stairs, and it was a wonderful day. There were plenty of places to sit and rest as needed.

I have never stayed at this hotel. . My visits have been related to use of the conference facilities. I do enjoy visiting its a shame its not more widely used . It does have a lovely feeling. It would have been a real experience to visit during its heyday

Came here for a course, foyer very clean and tidy. Reception staff are amazing and extremely friendly. Biggest complaint for me was cleanliness, very neglected in other areas we went in lots of dust toilets weren't the greatest and the car park was the biggest let down. Price is good £5 for 24hours but when you slip and injure yourself you expect more than just "oh sorry". Uneven slabs and mud are not a good combination. 2 bruised knees, a pulled muscle to the spine and ruined shoes and trousers. Would have been 3 stars otherwise.

I was there for a gala, and so didn't see the rooms. But it was lovely and spacious with plenty of seating and air movement. Really lovely.

Beautiful hotel within easy distance from the station. The interiors are lovely and in an older architectural style. I didn't stay in the rooms but attended in the enormous King's hall for an event. Highly recommend this location!

A large luxurious hotel with great facilities, especially the conference rooms. The general toilets all seem to be on the ground floor.

Not a great deal I can say I was here on a one day course. On entering the hotel its clean well decorated with high ceiling. The toilets were very clean. Located on a busy street with parking at the back of the hotel. There is a train station 5 minutes away, plenty of food shops.

Went for a meal and show. The hotel was lovely and Christmassy and the staff were polite and efficient. Hot, tasty meal.

Hotel is great and great location right in city centre. The staff were excellent, especially the Manager who looked after us throughout our stay. Will definitely recommend and will absolutely stay again.

At the venue for an event, excellent. Facilities and staff exemplary. For an old school city centre Grand Hotel, no issues at all.

Very nice, clean and big. Went in wedding , also it's good for small gathering, or a family wedding or party.

Was there only for a meeting and everything was well presented. Food was amazing 👏🏾 only parking was a slight problem as limited disabled parking outside the hotel.

I have been to this hotel multiple times. Recently visited the hotel for an event. Outstanding service, very welcoming and friendly staff. Food was excellent as always. Very good arrangement overall. The location is central and the hotel has got a big parking area which saves the hassle to look for a car park. Highly recommended!

I use this venue for training the meeting rooms are nice and big for my needs staff are always friendly and helpful clean and fresh around communal areas thank you

Visited the hotel as taking exams there for my Job in one of the conference rooms. Nicely located in Central Leicester, Good impressions on entry, good and friendly helpful staff. Large carpark to rear.

Lovely wedding. Great food and staff. We have recommended it to all our family.

New Years Eve event, which was fun. However, no champagne, it's New Year, guys. Not a huge choice on wine and other drinks ran out before the end of the evening. On a plus, service at the event was good and the entertainment was fun.

We had our private Xmas party in one of their party rooms and we planned to finish as per schedule given by them but 1 hr earlier their staff came over and asked us to evacuate the room because our party is supposed to finish at that time. We said that's not what we've been told and had to show the evidence. The guy was rude. Then the waiter kept on asking us to leave the room. They spoiled it big time. We ended up finishing as per schedule but the behaviour of them was bad. They were interrupting many times. Food served real slow and the table cleared after a long time so the party started pretty late We never going to have a party there anymore. Not worth the money we pay. Food was average. Staff were not great.

Went for a one day event so didn't see any rooms. Amazing internal architecture and features. Plenty of space and helpful staff. A little on the chilly side. Great central location.

Im gutted i can’t remember names but the manager is an absolute gem here, in general all staff working the night were. I worked alongside them all when hiring an archway to a wedding that was at this hotel and the staff were beyond helpful, helping me carry equipment etc just all of them went above and beyond. It was so refreshing to work alongside such lovely people - so thank you. Made my night x

I went to a work conference, a lovely place, with good food, and fantastic service. I had a good day.

I have been to The Grand many times over the years for work. Came this time with a large party. Lovely Christmas do as ever. We were a little fiesty. Will be back next year if you will have us 🙂!!!

Attended a event, Excellent staff, service with great great food. Fully recommended for future events. Will definitely return.

We were there for our 6th formers ball. Students arrived and we were sat by 7.30pm but it was a further 45mins before we had our starter, over an hour after that for our main and then a further 45mins for our dessert. They were very slow at taking empty plates away. We didn't finish eating till 10.25pm - shocking to be honest. The main lady in our area who was a coordinator was not hands on. Having previously worked in silver service you would support other staff and get the job done, however she didn't. Just stood there with a piece of paper. Even when the drinks bar had a queue longer than the room. Wouldn't recommend to others based on the fact they couldn't handle events well. Another school was there too and they said the same.

I didn't stay here but I had an absolutely banging College Last Fling here 🥳. Staff were very nice and could understand me when drunk 🤣. My one criticism is the line was a bit long so next time you do something like this can you potentially have more than one person on the bar 🍸.

Attended here for a work meeting, did not stay overnight. Staff were friendly and helpful. Catering was very nice, apart from the treacle tart, too sweet.

We have booked a wedding reception here pre Covid which has got put back. We have run into a few problems due to long staying "government guests" who have totalled a lot of the rooms requiring a renovation before they can be resold - meaning we don't have the quantity of rooms we ideally want (big wedding) on our wedding night; however, how the hotel has handled it has been second to none. They have made sure we have been looked after with impeccable care and we feel we have had a "Silver Service level of customer care" that you would expect from this hotel. They even covered the cost of the bridal room at a neighbouring hotel as they weren't expecting the rooms to be in such a state at time of booking, have been upfront and honest with us, and organised a deal where the same rates are honoured at a hotel around the corner. If we wanted to cancel they even offered us a full refund even though it is getting close to the date with no quibbles. Staff and hotel is second to none and you can tell they have great respect for the hotel quality, over continuing to sell us rooms that needed a refresh. We will be staying again when the renovations to the rooms are completed - no doubt! Very impressed with the hotels quality team and professionalism.
