Mensagem was surprisingly good spot and with reasonable prices. We were seated on the balcony, which must have really nice views during evening time. Staff was super friendly and exceptionally professional. The only thing I was a bit dissapointed was my steak. I ordered a medium and it seemed like medium rare or even a rare. So, I suggest to order well done to get a medium. Overall, it's 9/10 place, however as I don't have ten point scale, I granted 5/5

Wir waren zu dritt hier, weil mich die Bewertungen im Internet neugierig gemacht haben und die Location so gut aussieht. Auf den Punkt gebracht: Das Ambiente ist mega! Alles andere leider nur mittelmäßig. Wir hatten Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte und ich muss ehrlich sagen, das 3 von 6 Gerichten leider gerade nur so "mittelmäßig" waren. Das hätte ich in dieser Preiskategorie (Gesamtrechnung über 180€) nicht erwartet. Der Service war zwar bemüht, aber teilweise mangels Englisch-Kenntnissen etwas überfordert. Der Platz in der Nische ist toll, mega Aussicht auf Lissabon, aber eine der Bänke, wo wir drauf gesessen haben, war wackelig und machte quietschende Geräusche. Das geht einfach in dieser Kategorie nicht. Da wird das Restaurant dem eigenen Anspruch nicht gerecht. Wenn man nur einen Drink in der Rooftop-Bar nehmen will, der tollen Ausblick genießen will, dann ist das denke ich mal in Ordnung, aber das Essen ist leider nur mittelmäßig. Alles in allem: Keine Empfehlung!

Everything about this restaurant was nothing short of spectacular. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing and the food was delicious beyond what I could have imagined. I tried the salmon and it left me wanting a second trip back. I highly recommend a special visit.

Me and my wife recently had the pleasure of dining here for celebrating the birthday and I must say it was an extraordinary experience that left a lasting impression. From the warm and welcoming ambiance every aspect of our visit was truly remarkable. Me and my wife were greeted by a friendly and attentive staff though we reached late the table was kept ready. The staff members were attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. They were quick to offer recommendations, explain the menu in detail especially Amit. Throughout the evening, we felt genuinely cared for and valued as a guest. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented. Overall it was not just a meal; it was an experience that we will remember. I highly recommend to anyone who comes to Lisbon, you must visit for wonderful views, best food and it is worth every penny.

Beautiful rooftop patio with a view of the castle. Right next to the convent. Great food. Wonderful service. Salmon was delicious, burrata and green salad were great. Best shrimp I had in Portugal! Dessert was amazing!

Great restaurant! I love the food quality and service. Very fine dishes, quality ingredients, and care preparing you meal! Loved the desserts as well! Very attentive staff with the quality of a high standard hotel. Even if the restaurant is sometimes to quiet, the views give you a great atmosphere. I’ll be back!

The ambiance: Hilltop view of old Lisbon from the terrace, inside is mid-century style wood paneling on the walls and formed concrete ceilings giving it a modern edge. The service: Our server Ricardo was splendid- friendly and professional. Having been to 3 Michelin star restaurants in Lisbon, these dishes at Mensagem are just good, if not better in authenticity. Bravo to the chef (and Ricardo for his excellent personality) The food: Unexpectedly delicious and under appreciated. The octopus carpaccio was perfection, fried prawns in garlic are a delight to have. The Iberian pork cheeks look pedestrian but one bite convinced me that it is the most tender piece of pork you can ever have. The rustic dessert Sericaia is an absolute must for any visitor. It’s soft, mildly sweet, crepe-like texture with hint of cinnamon IS the essence of Portugal.. Wow. How Mensagem did not make the Michelin gourmond is a mystery to me. What a hidden gem!

This restaurant will remain in my memory during my trip to Lisbon. The location is amazing. Almost all the tables are by a window. We sat at one of them and the view of Lisbon, or rather Alfama, was simply amazing. The tables are all separated from each other in small open spaces. So you are always guaranteed privacy with your friends/family. Daniel the head waiter and Rafael one of the waiters served us really well. I can only recommend this restaurant. PS: a tip is to book in advance.

Christmas Eve dinner, really really good food (omg, the parmesan icecream with carpaccio), super staff always ready to refill wine and water. Beautiful terrace with an amazing Lisbon view !

Amazing food with an unbeatable view! Our server Beatriz was wonderful and helpful, provided some great recommendations. Another waiter Amit provided excellent service! Came over to automatically refill our cups and gave the ladies at a neighboring table blankets when it got too windy! He was very nice and amazing! Great smile too! Food was spectacular! The garlic sauce for the prawns was so tasty! We also tried the Solero Exotic mocktail and it was delicious 🤤!!! A must try! The main attraction though, was the Tomahawk, shared between two people. The meat still has plenty red but it was not super chewy, so it was quite acceptable. It came with three condiments, salt flakes, chimichurri and compound butter. Also included was a big serving of fries cooked to perfection and a bowl of salad greens. Now I did mention no onions but the kitchen slipped up on this. Beatriz did offer to replace it but no harm done. Luckily it was only a few slivers of onions that I can pick out. She was really great. Call Michelle

Such lovely food with an amazing view and the perfect hosts. We shared the burrata then had pigcheeks, chicken supreme, and ides of vegetables, salted potatoes ( which were amazing) and potatoes with bacon. It was all perfect.

My husband and I visited this place few days back and it was one of the best restaurants I have ever been. The food was wonderful and very delicious. This was our first time at this restaurant and we will definitely visit again. The outside view of it was amazing and we could see the castle as well. Also I should mention that the restaurant staff was super friendly and so attention. They did their best to make our evening memorable. They always came up with good recommendations as well. I highly recommend this place to everyone and you should definitely visit this place if you are coming to Lisbon.

Had roof-top drinks before dinner. Nice view and the resturant looked beautiful, but the rooftop itself was quite small and a bit dissapointing. No music or good vibes. Go here if you want a quiet space. Service was also a bit slow, even if there was not that many people.

Really good food and view at this restaurant. We enjoyed it a lot! The cabin style gives a lot of privacy which is really nice. The service seems sometimes a little chaotic but overall was a really good experience. The food was really delicious and the waiter recommended and told us a lot about the food.

A very pleasant surprise! With this amazing setting, we expected prices to be quite high, but it was actually fairly affordable. The service was very caring. The atmosphere is relaxing and intimate, and the view is surely something! We got the pork cheeks and they were delicious!

Memorable experience watching the sun set on the pretty city of Lisbon. Reached at 8pm on a weekday just for some drinks and were seated immediately. The small terrace has an iconic 180-degree view of the city, a DJ playing chill beats, and excellent servers delivering good drinks. No complaints, highly recommend this place!

We went for drinks, red sangria, and appys, fish and wonderful chips, octopus ceviche, and burrata caprese. Bruno mixed wonderful drinks, get the "jar" of sangria. We stayed for great views as sun set, and the house dessert, a very cinnamonie cake, with mousse and ice cream, and terrific orange cake with kumquat slices and sauce.

Beautiful restaurant with a great view. Friendliest staff and they really tried their best. HOWEVER, our experience was unfortunately not good on so many levels: Something as simple as bread took forever to come and not only that the bread itself was so small, the portions are tiny and the quality was not good (African chicken was overcooked with tomato sauce that tasted like canned food), some of the food we ordered in the beginning was forgotten such as a salad…we kept having to remind them. Lastly, they charged me twice on my credit card when I showed them that the first transaction already went through. I even showed them my bank statement, they insisted that they charge me again anyway to make sure. I should have listened to myself and told them no. So now I have to deal with filing a claim to remove this extra transaction. I won’t be coming back. The service was terrible although the staff really are very nice. There needs to be more training.

I am going to give this restaurant an overall 5 star rating. Go a little early and have a drink out on the smallish outside bar patio area because you can see for miles in several directions, and the view is quite beautiful. Our dinner was also quite delicious and the outside view from our table was also very pretty. The restaurant service was a little bit disorganized. So great view, and pretty good everything else.

Amazing restaurant for a date, so romantic and intimate with great ambiance. Be sure to ask for a table by the window! The food was superb. Every single bite was divine, from the starters to the dessert. All of the staff was kind and friendly. A truly wonderful experience, a must if you’re in Lisbon!

Frantastic - one of the best experiences. My wife and I had dinner here a week today and it was just fantastic. From the amazing views to the delicious food it was just great. The staff too were just brilliant nothing was too much. My wife and have eaten at some great restaurants before but this was up there with the best. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to a very high standard. They also have an open kitchen which j always think is a good sign. Also the views from the balcony which the staff encourage you to go and see are just stunning. We are going to recommend it to family and friends when visiting Thank you once again

A pleasant surprise, let's start with the views from the two terraces "sublime views from the city center" a good choice of signature cocktails, try the spicy basil delicious, decor simplistic but modern, open kitchen is a plus, and delicious menu with a twist of traditional and modern, highly suggest the 62 C egg starter and the Turbot for the entree. Service attentive and unobstructive. Location difficult to find need to get a uber or taxi

The service personnel rushed us to order and generally rushed us throughout the meal. Waiter switched our knives while we were still eating previous dish (?) And gave us a menue but not even 2 min later asked us to place apptizer order before even offering a drink menu (?). The entire mean took close to an hr. Drinks looked snd tasted good. Apptizers were nicer than main which clearly were made from frozen fish (cod) and giant prawn was tasteless. Temprature of dish components varied greatly as well. Overall presentation trumped taste. Would not go back there even for the view.

Food was amazing. The Tuna starter, Steak & Octopus were all sublime. I just had to take away 1 star because of the really slow service. We were waiting an hour between courses. I think they need an extra staff member. The view is pretty nice too!

The view: exquisite. Food was really nice (we were starving hence the lack of food pictures (: but we had chicken and pork and both were amazing ), the atmosphere was , everyone around seemed to be having a good time as well. A big big thanks to Daniel who made sure we had the best experience! Well definitely coming back just because of how good we were treated by staff, the star being Daniel.

It happened to be the first restaurant I went to when I arrived in Lisbon and I was surprised by all the references throughout the building to the poet Fernando Pessoa - a cultural and gastronomic experience at the same time. The two times I was at the restaurant the service was excellent, from the hotel reception to arrival and services in the restaurant space. The staff are kind, attentive and super agile. The food was wonderful, from starters to dessert, including the cocktails - simply fantastic! I highly recommend the orange pie and the prawns. Not to mention the view from the window, whether day or night, you can see Sao Jorge Castle in the background of the landscape. The outdoor space on the rooftop is also very cozy. I will definitely come back more often!

We had an incredible time at Mensagem for a large party of 40 people. The colleagues and waiting staff were quick to attend to every request and the food was delicious. Great value for a large group especially and the surroundings of the rooftop were stunning. Highly recommended.
