The staff who clean the rooms do a very bad job. It’s quite disappointing. Rooms are small. Didn’t enjoy my stay at all. I won’t recommend. Their restaurant staff are more professional than their front desk and room cleaners

My recent stay at the VIP Executive Zurique Hotel was acceptable. This hotel has so much potential, and some more attention in a few areas would go a long way in transforming this property to one of a higher quality. The service was excellent. Employees were all compassionate and professional. In addition, the food offered in the hotel’s restaurant was of high quality. Prices at the property were fair. From a value point of view, I expected a bit more. I paid €439 for my eight-day stay. In addition, dinner was expensive and extremely limited. More specifically, in terms of amenities, the hotel boasts a beautiful outdoor pool area. Unfortunately, it was often overcrowded and littered with garbage. More attention to detail would remedy these issues. Wifi was available, but weak in certain parts of the hotel. A bar is located in the lobby, but opens late and closes early in the evening, making it inaccessible. The gym was closed during my time here. That was also unfortunate, as images and descriptions on websites were misleading. I stayed in an Executive Single Room during my week here. The room itself was contemporary and updated, however, housekeeping was inconsistent. Some days, my room was cleaned impeccably, others, housekeeping was abysmal or nonexistent. Towels oftentimes had rips or stains on them. The curtains had small rips and were stained. In addition, one of the blankets was stained. The provided toiletries were good. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows were very poor quality. The hotel did not specially publicize a smoking policy. Oftentimes, the corridors reeked of smoke. Cigarettes littered the pool deck and common areas in the hotel. Staff worked hard to keep surfaces in the lobby disinfected, however, their efforts were undermined by thousands of guests utilizing these areas. I do believe the hotel is understaffed. The hotel would benefit from having maintenance and housekeeping readily available and on call for assistance. When I necessitated maintenance, I was told I would have to wait for the following morning when the technician would be available. While the rooms were updated and contemporary, the bathrooms were rundown. The hotel shows it’s apparent age on the exterior, and in the elevators. Some surfaces were cracked and not functional. I experienced difficulties in the elevators. They stopped working at times, leaving me stuck. Again, better maintenance would remedy these concerns. The location of the hotel is a positive. It is surrounded by transit options that provide direct links to cities all across the country. This is ideal for all visitors. Overall, the hotel served it’s purpose. I do believe the hotel is ill equipped to handle the high volume of guests that stay here. Housekeeping is marginal, and must be improved. Maintenance needs to pay closer attention to the aging property. Finally, security here is lacking. I have some concerns as it pertains to safety. Front desk staff has no control over people entering the hotel. It was a free for all most of the times. Many guests had parties in their room. Hallways were loud at most hours of the night. My safe was inoperable. I heard guests complaining about having items stolen out of their rooms. Considering COVID-19 related protocols and restrictions in Portugal, I was disappointed by the lacking security and cleanliness here. I appreciate the VIP Hotel brand, and was pleased by the staff’s swift response to my concerns.

I stayed here for 5 nights with my girlfriend. The staff were superb. Our room was cleaned daily to perfection while we explored the city. The hotel is situated right beside 2 metro stations ensuring fast travel into the city. The pool was fantastic, well maintained and never overly crowded. To top it off the reception held our baggage all day after we had checked out. Would thoroughly recommend this property.

I have never had such a horrible meal in a hotel it really to be honest tastes like trash and the pool was very dirty. We were two weeks here and we had gone in every hostel and it would be better than this. The only good thing was the bed because it was pretty. On my last day I want to order my deposit it was 50€ and they don’t give it back to me because I lost a piece of paper. They told me that they had ne payment in her system that I payed it but the only answer from them was no sorry we can’t do that. That’s like that they robbed me for 50€. Such a rib of. I really can’t recommend that hotel in a good way.

I stayed at this hotel for a period of three months. It's been wonderful for me. Rooms are super clean. Staff is helpful and wonderful. a 5 star for me. My only comment was currency exchange rate is a bit off chart . I would recommend to use Maxpay in campo Pequeno.

No kettle and coffee in room. No iron just only have laundry service. The big problem is the elevator is inadequate, slow, broken, unable to use. can contain a small number of people despite being a five-star hotel.

We were on a bus tour so didn't have to use the metro this time in Lisbon. Stayed near the airport and could see planes coming in with their wheels down, which was pretty cool. Clean rooms and good beds. Not near any attractions or places to see and not near restaurants, tho we were near a Lidl supermarket below a train station which was good so we could get some fruits and snacks. Didn't use any svcs other than continental bkfst and they were strict at not taking any food (sandwiches or anything else) out - they didn't have any whole fruit to take, so that whole experience was not welcomed. I guess they would rather throw the food away if customers take it but then have to leave it behind (or maybe they reuse the leftover food?). Rooms were good, bathroom was a little tight for two people due to the door couldn't open further cuz of the bidet that are in most rooms, but this was first hotel that actually had a shower curtain in the tub/shower, so water wouldn't get all over the floor - a Plus in my opinion, and they even had a grab bar!

I booked on Booking.com and was told I could cancel free of charge before midnight. When I called before midnight, not only could my booking not be located at all for at least 20 minutes, but when it was the hotel said that they could not cancel the booking... yet Booking.com said the Hotel were the only ones with the power to cancel. After a LOT of insistence and attempts from the front desk staff to 'wash their hands clean' of the situation and not respond to my e-mails (Bruno, in particular, seemed quite set on deflecting and pretending like "nothing can be done") when I asked for written confirmation that they were powerless in handling bookings, the hotel ended up contacting one of the many agencies they partner with and telling them to cancel my booking at no cost which is what I was entitled to. However, it has now been over a week (I would've checked out yesterday if I had checked in) and I'm out of nearly $500 for a stay I never stayed in as no one has issued any sort of refund. The hotel simply says "from our side we have done our part" - so, sending one, 4-line e-mail and not following up to ensure the process goes through successfully is the extend of the customer service they're willing to provide here.

The staff does not have enough training to provide good customer service. The receptionist informed me the breakfast schedule was until 11am but that was incorrect. Therefore, I had to find a place to get breakfast. Also, I asked for a taxi, and I was very specific that I would pay with a credit card. When the taxi drive arrived, she told me she doesn't accept credit cards and started yelling at me, saying that I had to pay $5 euro because she drove to the hotel to pick me up, a total show and the receptionist didn't show any intention to resolve the issue.

2 positives ; 1.Shout out to Luisa (she works in the lobby shop) she helped us tremendously and was super nice during our stay. 2. Location Negatives : After a very long bus ride to Lisbon we must've waited about 30+ minutes to get to our room because the elevators were so slow! Later to find out one of them broke. Our door in our room didn't close smoothly and had to push the door extra hard to shut it. The bathroom shower was a bit slippery in fact my traveling friend almost slipped while in it. The breakfast buffet was the worst! First of all Lisbon was our last stop from a 20 day trip. I have never on this trip or any other trip had to wait on line for breakfast. Huge line to get in because apparently there aren't enough tables for the amount of people they have staying. Once you've waited about 15-20 min, you finally get in, no utensils on the table and you're rushed to eat after spending all the time in line otherwise you'll miss the bus for the tours. Waiting on line for coffee was brutal as they only have two coffee machines. One of the two machines will break down and so now you will have to wait even longer. Hot water for teA from the machine looked cloudy. The "juices" were tasteless and not drinkable. Seems to me everything is breaking down and place needs major update. We did not get any "VIP" treatment. Very disappointed.

This 3-star hotel is worth the value for money. It is really clean, they have decent breakfast which is always filled up by the staff even if it is already near the closing time, and the location is near the metro station which is very convenient. In addition, the staff are very polite and helpful. The only con is the absence of coffee/tea and water bottle heater in the rooms but I think it is universal in most EU hotels. And there was no pool as it is seasonal Other than that, everything was excellent! It was our first time in Portugal and I would say that our stay in the hotel was overall wonderful.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights on our honeymoon and were unable to get any rest. The A/C wasn’t working on what seemed like our entire floor. We sweated walking to our room and never stopped sweating. This forced us to open the window, and our room was right above the railroad tracks AND airport runway. Our choices were to sweat while sleeping OR to listen to planes and trains scream past all night. Both were unbelievably loud. The hotel is basically 2 miles away from anything to do in the city. Also, it’s .5 miles away from any restaurant (even McDonald’s). We ordered room service and both hamburgers were basically raw. We couldn’t eat even half of them. This is where our bus tour of Morocco, Spain and Portugal ended; it was easily the worst hotel we stayed at. Everything was clean and updated enough, but could not get any rest between the heat and the noise. Also the raw burgers made us sick. Breakfast wasn’t much better.

This is not a VIP hotel. The rooms and halls were like being inside an oven. I believe I got sick because of the temperature changes (the street is freezing because of the winter but your room is like being in the Sahara desert). The food is not variated and it doesn't have a good quality. The wi-fi connection was weak and intermittent. The location is near the offices and the financial center of the city but far from what it's interesting for tourists like me.

This is my preferred hotel in Lisbon, affordable and very nice, not a magnificent luxury hotel but just good enough to be very comfortable, huge breakfast, super staff

The hotel is dated... Nothing much, would not kill them to have a kettle for tea or coffee in the room. For the price it is extra basic... Stayed for 3 nights in January 2022. Needed to print, I guess it was 25¢ a page ...the lady was very "polite" and charged on the hotel's behalf 6 or 8 Euros... Had printed before at a graphic station for 3¢ a page... So all in all, I hope not to return...

Great service and good breakfast. The rooms are clean and staff is very helpful. Actually I had an issue with WiFi, I complained to staff, as it was Sunday, they told me to wait until next day or I can change the room. I opted for a different room and they gave me a new room with no additional costs. Hospitality is at good level. Breakfast is yummy and I love it. The swimming was not allowed as my stay was in November month. Very near to CP train station.

Hotel review Hotel very accessible into centre of Lisbon and all historical sights but not the best service at all. Had a very rude receptionist called Ashley, as soon as she heard my English accent she was just not hospitable. Initially chose the hotel due to the good reviews and the fact it had a pool - however the pool is under renovations until the end of the year. I had to go to the sister Hotel just opposite that had a decent pool but whoever built the hotel placed the pool in the most shadiest part possible. It doesn't stop there, hotel is supposed to be a VIP hotel but has no iron for guests to borrow, I then had to pay for the ironing service that done a horrid job of ironing my clothes as all creases where still visible. Was not impressed! Only 1 lift working at any given time. Would not revisit which is a downfall given the central location.

Not very good price/quality ratio. Near public transport. A bit noisy (airplanes pass just above in their way to the nearby airport every minute), elevator machine sounded a lot in our room too. Towels were old.

We were there for 5 nights. Hotel staff were very gracious and helpful. The room was passable...it needed attention.. Carpet was stained, headboard was faux leather & was severely torn, just not inviting. It was a reasonably good location. Shopping, restaurants and bars are closeby and the metro was a short distance away to go to the waterfront. Breakfast has a very good selection of foods.

roöms were clean, standards were met, mattress were very hard, as were the cushions, 2m short. Very forthcoming service, easy parking. A bit loud due to ongoing construction in the neighborhood, the nearby airport and the railways.

Cheap but very sad. Where 2nd hand hotel towels go to die. Only one lift worked - 13th floors - many many people walks up/down stairs including very old people. Some staff had no idea what was going on. One staff member was friendly. Cheap but very very sad.

Rooms have been renovated, so looks a bit updated. Reservation staff were helpful and friendly. Housekeeping was accommodating and cleaned up the room well. Did not try breakfast or other meals in the restaurant, so cannot comment. Pool was small for such a large hotel, but when I visited there was only 1 person - so perhaps it's not used much being a business hotel. Location is convenient as there is a train station close by, lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance and also a Lidl supermarket. Would stay there again!

Just ok accommodations. No early check in. Waited several hours for a room. Sort of understandable since they were very busy. Rooms clean. No air conditioning. Poor circulation. The breakfast buffet was good. Lot of variety and choices.

The hotel maybe a bit out dated but it brings you back to reality of how things used to be. Goncalo Matias was amazing and very helpful! Asked for a quiet room and we was given a quiet room. Staff were very welcoming. Lovely place to stay.

More or less what you'd expect from a low level business and/or tourist hotel. This place caters to low end business travelers or package tours. The rooms themselves have been updated and are OK enough. The bathrooms are dated, with mold in the grouting . The hotel itself is a bit dated and has seen better days. It is situated in a parking lot and you have to walk through the parking lot to get anywhere. The swimming pool overlooks the parking lot and there are no parasols or covering to keep you out of the sun. The plus side was that the Wifi was good. The breakfast buffet has an abundance of food, but none of it is good. The meats and cheeses are all of sub-standard quality, and the coffee comes from a demonic machine that turns the beverage into a sad foam. The staff are harried and either overworked or apathetic. When I arrived, it was before check-in time. That was OK. But instead of welcoming me, giving me wifi access, and asking me to wait for a while until the room was ready, they were rude and sent me away. My husband left things in the room after we checked out and despite numerous attempts at calling and even returning in-person to the hotel to ask about the items, the staff claimed that they items hadn't been found. We suspect that they never even bothered to look.

The rooms are very confortable and 5* to cleaning, the wi-fi is also good and at breakfast we have a good variety of food. The only thing that could improve is having gluten free food and vegetal milk.

Positive : - Only 10 min with Uber to City centre. - Nice outdoor pool area - Clean rooms - Cozy bar area Negative: - The breakfast buffet was horrible. Rubbery, overcooked scrambled eggs, soggy bacon, burnt buns and green hardboiled eggs. Constant lack of cutlery and glasses. A lot of food, but none of it was good. - The Staff could take a smiling course, they seemed sick of their jobs, both in the reception and dining area. - No handsoap in the bathroom - Just one flat pillow per person - Noise from traffic, train and airplanes

If your coming here for business great location for the airport train and city, if your looking for home from home don't come as its not a hotel to relax in other than the pool it has nothing going for it, total miss mash of a hotel, most staff need a course in hospitality as its lacking most of all, where if all were like nuno it would be great 👍 won't be returning hope to see nuno in another hotel.

Could easily be 5 star rating but.... needs more attention to bar service. Needs more attention with customer requests... and more attention to customer happyness. The hotel is nice and should be a 4 or 5 star rating easily.

Perfect location (close to the metro, approx. 30 minutes by metro to the center), decent rooms. The only downside is the terrible breakfasts that taste like they've been lying for a few days.

  • 2/5 Amanda 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is very dated and it could be more clean than it was. Most of the days I've stayed there, the towels given to me were either dirty or they had holes in them. The breakfast lacks fresh fruit. The staff is very kind and willing to help.

  • 4/5 Chris P. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is very close to the airport. The rooms are clean. Friendly staff can drop off your bag for the day at the reception. The food isn't the best so would suggest eating somewhere else. But overall a great place to stay!

  • 4/5 Maria T. 2 years ago on Google
Reasonably priced hotel. Close to airport train station and metro. The lounge area and conference floor is modern and great to work or chill in. The rooms however are a bit old and our original towels had stains in them but we got them changed the next day through housekeeping. Walls are also thin so you can hear you neighbour showering or flushing the toilet (at 6am). Breakfast is average.

  • 4/5 John C. 1 year ago on Google
Good experience overall except check in which may not be the hotel doing as we were part of the tour. Required individual check in which was unorganized and time-consuming. Perhaps the tour could have improved the process and was not the hotel fault.

One of several VIP hotels in the vicinity. The room was comfortable, but a bit small. Comfy bed and an amazing shower with great water pressure. Spotlessly clean and crisp. Nice bonus - a roomy balcony. Great wifi. Overall fine, but somewhat dated premises and a restaurant that needs a do-over.

I chose this hotel close to the airport since my flight left early the following day. Since this is a three-star hotel, my expectations were low. However, the receptionist could have been much more courteous when we arrived. The entrance hall and the bar area could be more inviting. Further, the waiting period for the elevator was long since the hotel has just two elevators for too many people. We wanted an aperitif and some snacks at the hotel bar when we arrived. However, the bar's menu offers just burgers and pizza, which does not meet our diet. Therefore we checked the hotel's restaurant. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not provide "a la carte" food but only a buffet. Since the buffet could have been more inviting, we favored going to our room. After a long trip, we looked forward to a hot shower. However, the warm water did not work all evening, and we had to go to bed without showering. In the morning, the warm water worked again. The staff offered a complimentary breakfast as compensation; however, since the buffet could have been more inviting, we favored having breakfast at the airport. The rooms are small, which is ok for one night. Since the hotel is close to a train station, near a highway, and airplanes fly over the building every five minutes, the rooms should be soundproof, but they need to be. So it was difficult for us to sleep. As per information from the hotel staff, the hotel offers "private and protected" parking. However, it is public parking at a charge in front of the hotel, and there are no dedicated security measures for the car. To sum up, I would not suggest this hotel to my friends. Like all of my reviews, of course, this review is related to the type of hotel, the hotel's hospitality objective and classification, the overall hotel quality of the respective city, and the general context and needs to get compared to similar types of hotels.

Needs a bit of polishing, it looks nothing like the photos, fix the aircons, the wobbly lift, etc... The staff are nice and helpful, they do what they can with what they have. Stay only if you're desperate. PS, don't drink their coffee

After reading reviews from other users I was worried at first but after arrival to the hotel I was pleasantly surprised. The elevators were both in service and they were fast. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a room situated on 4th floor, directly across the train station and with the windows closed (there are double windows) there was a silence in the room, even with airplanes flying nearby. Overall good value for the money.
