My
recent
lunch
experience
at
Sitio,
located
in
the
prestigious
5-star
hotel
Valverde
in
Lisbon,
was
unfortunately
marred
by
a
series
of
service
mishaps
that
significantly
impacted
the
overall
enjoyment
of
the
meal.
The
ambiance
of
Sitio
is
elegant
and
befitting
of
its
upscale
hotel
setting.
The
menu
offers
a
diverse
range
of
options,
and
my
friend
and
I
decided
to
order
the
pork
meat
for
our
main
dish.
Considering
my
friend's
pregnancy
and
dietary
restrictions,
we
explicitly
requested
the
meat
to
be
well
done.
Regrettably,
the
dining
experience
took
an
unfortunate
turn
when
our
order
was
initially
brought
to
us
an
hour
later,
only
to
find
that
we
were
served
grilled
fish
instead
of
the
pork
we
had
requested.
The
staff
acknowledged
the
mistake,
and
after
an
additional
40-minute
wait,
the
incomplete
order
arrived.
The
server
instructed
us
to
begin
eating,
while
assuring
us
that
the
chef
was
still
preparing
the
remaining
portion
of
our
meat.
To
our
disappointment,
when
my
friend
finally
received
her
portion,
it
was
not
well
done
as
requested,
displaying
a
pink
colour
inside.
*She
noticed
it
after
already
eating
a
substantial
amount
from
one
piece*.
While
the
staff
promptly
replaced
the
undercooked
meat,
it
was
a
fragmented
experience
as
the
side
dish,
which
was
initially
served
with
the
first
half
of
the
meat,
had
run
out
by
the
time
the
second
portion
arrived.
Upon
expressing
our
dissatisfaction
to
what
appeared
to
be
the
main
server,
we
were
informed
that
the
restaurant
faces
challenges
in
December
and
January
due
to
trainees,
making
it
difficult
to
manage
both
training
and
service.
However,
we
emphasized
that
customer
satisfaction
should
not
be
compromised
due
to
internal
challenges.
To
add
to
our
woes,
I
experienced
digestive
issues
later
in
the
day,
suspecting
it
may
be
attributed
to
the
undercooked
pork
meat.
And
my
pregnant
friend
left
the
place
extremely
worried
if
she
didn’t
get
any
toxoplasma
or
other
virus
from
the
undercooked
pork!
meat
that
could
seriously
affect
her
baby.
This
unfortunate
incident
has
left
a
lasting
impression
on
what
could
have
been
an
enjoyable
dining
experience.
In
conclusion,
while
the
setting
and
potential
of
Sitio
are
commendable,
the
service
lapses
and
the
subsequent
impact
on
the
quality
of
the
meal
were
disappointing.
Addressing
these
issues,
especially
during
training
periods,
is
crucial
to
maintaining
the
high
standards
expected
of
a
restaurant
in
a
5-star
hotel.
Moreover,
independently
of
internal
challenges,
food
safety
and
dietary
restrictions
of
the
customers
should
be
treated
as
priority,
which
unfortunately
was
not
the
case.
