We ordered almost everything from the menu. The food is creative and delicious. Mostly came from local farms. You can tell the owner treats food respectfully. The portion might be somewhat small for people to share, so we ordered 7dishes for 5 people, and we were full and satisfied. The waitress was very patient to introduce every dish for us. Only one thing to complain that we could’t get the inside seats eventually when it’s getting colder outside and there were still empty table inside.

Wonderful interpretation of classical Portuguese dishes, extremely fresh ingredients and creative combinations. FOME has it all. I went with a friend there around one year ago and I still think of the food we had. It was so delicious. The prices are good and the staff extremely friendly. I give my full recommendation if you want eating to be an all around pleasant experience.

Short version: great affordable portugueuse food in a lovely atmosphere and with a really friendly staff. Absolutely recommend and would love to come back! Long version: The menu is short and sweet . You'll get to choose between about 13-15 dishes and they recommend about 5 dishes for 4 people or 9 dishes for our group of 7. We ended up going with 10 or 11 dishes that we all shared because everything was just so good. Here is a list of what I remember and I'll mark our absolute favorites with (+): fresh oysters to start with, then braised tuna with black eyed peas puree (+), mackerel, tomato soup, clams and polenta (+), slow cooked beef pasta (+), blood sausage with pineapple and I think a couple more I can't remember. They also had a good selection of wine and cocktails, and for those that prefer a non alcoholic drinks, we can highly recommend the melon-mint smoothie (super refreshing and tasty!). Finally, as desert, we shared a lemon cheesecake that was excellent and a chocolate carrot cake, where both the carrot cake and the chocolate frosting where excellent individually, but just not our favorite together. Regarding atmosphere, the room is long and thin, so you'll usually just have a couple larger tables set lengthwise. The decoration was simple but clean and welcoming. When we were there, we shared the place with families with kids, groups and couples, and everyone was taken care of rapidly and seemed very happy with their food.

This restaurant used to be my very favorite in town. It re-opens yesterday after few months of closing but it has nothing to do with before. The cuisine used to be very creative and every dish was amazing. Now the proposition is very simple and not even good. The fish escabeche was not possible to eat. Such a disappointment :(

Traditional Portuguese Dishes - Re- Invented! A variety of delicious dishes in a kind of "petisco style" are allowing to join the creative kitchen crew on their journey through the world of portuguese classics. Really a great experience to re-discover already known tastes in a slight different way. All dishes are cooked freshly, with love and are served with a smile by the very friendly and attentive service. We will definitely come back for another "trip"...
