This place is pretty average. The elevator is very, very small, you might need to go up and down multiple times for your luggage. The staff is very helpful. The room is cleaned pretty well, except for the bathroom.. The breakfast is average, there is not much to choose from. The location is pretty good, a 15-20 minutes walk from some historical landmarks. The view is horrible, as you'll look straight at another building across the street or at a building site. This hotel is good if you are planning to stay for one or two days. If you want to stay longer, I recommend choosing another.

Excellent Location and lovely staff! Stayed in May Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Reasonable price rate. Bedroom very clean and wonderful. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent and included in the price. Nothing could not find fault with anything!

Room was clean and spacious. Location is great, it is near park and near the luxurious stores. Beds were very uncomfortable, we woke up every morning with severe pain in shoulders and lower back. The bathroom had a really bad smell, and noise from construction site near by was unbearable. Breakfast was the same every day and had just couple of options.

Same breakfast every morning. Cramped dining room but found a space every time. Had to change once due to not physically fitting between the wall and table. Got the morning started and that was enough. 50 year old family business. Was a bit run down. In the process of remodeling. Great location with interesting things in walking distance in every direction. Metro and bus hub around the corner for farther trips. Recommend the metro day pass for busses and trams as well.

Told us we needed to transfer hotels nearby with no explanation. Had to walk up with our luggage’s and had a hard time finding their substitute hotel which ended up looking like a hospital room. I want a refund. Don’t book with them unless you’re desperate

Location is great! Breakfast is okay and service is good. Rooms are really bad, small shower and windows that won't close. Overall totally worth the money, but the rooms could be a lot better!

Really bad rooms. I first got room 305 and it had a weird smell, sink wouldn’t drain and the toilet seat wouldn’t stay open (the water tank got in the way). I asked for a room change and 108. Nice room but really really small washroom. Hardly space to stand inside. The bath area was so small that I couldn’t take shower without hitting the walls. It was atrocious. I’m adding the pics of the washroom. Staff was nice, amazing breakfast, great location but the room experience really killed it for me..

Certainly an old hotel, but the room was very clean! The beds and sheets were very clean too, which was a huge plus, and personally had no issues with the bathroom. The location can’t be beat, surrounded by lots of great restaurants and luxury shopping.

Had a nice experience in this hotel. Staff was good, the room was nice and warm and breakfast was standard for the price we paid. Only thing I could point out is that the toilet was smelling of damp a lot so they bleached it a bit and when we entered the room it was smelling quite a lot of bleach. After the smell was gone the dampness came. Does need a refurbishment soon. Nothing else to point out.

Rather in need of a total restoration. My room was cramped: no place to put suitcase, minuscule desk, closet not built-in. Banged my head on the television on my way around the bed (which was the only good thing...). Tiny bathroom with toilet up against wall, light switch behind the (badly) sliding door you have close to access, and a small antiquated shower stall, with no place to put soap or shampoo (not recommended for seniors). A colleague had cockroaches in her room and the stench of urine coming from ventilation! However, location is good and street is quiet.

The rooms were very clean despite some reviews I saw. Housekeeping was really nice to me and so was the man at the front desk. He got me a cheaper rate on a last minute accommodation request. There is air conditioning as well. I had a good night sleep. Yes the walls are a little thin and you can hear some cars. For a native city person, this is nothing. It’s always good to keep in mind some of the buildings here are a little older and do not provide the same kind of “sound proofing” as a brand new Hilton hotel. I would definitely recommend this place. The breakfast was delicious. They offered a Classic Portuguese meal which comes free with your stay! Thank you for hosting me.

Hotel got card details wrong and decided to cancel my reservation despite me leaving both email and phone number and saying I was going to arrive very late. Got a room for one night but forced to look elsewhere for the rest of my stay in Lisbon.

Zum schlafen ok, aber leider sehr abgewohnt. Einrichtung könnte erneuert werden aber wenigstens war es halbwegs sauber. Wir hatten eine Baustelle direkt vorm Fenster welches man nicht schließen konnte. Die Lage war perfekt direkt an der Metro. Aber nochmal würden wir das Hotel nicht buchen.

It's definitely In need of renovation. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you're looking for affordable lodging reasonably close to downtown at an affordable price, it's an option. But know that you may be stuck with no view, an outdated bathroom, no vent in the bathroom, etc.

Basic Hotel but very clean,super small bathrooms and a little disappointing breakfasts( not a single vegetable like tomato or cucumber) every day the same food,friendly staff and great access to the city.Area is very loud and all the noises from the traffic can make impact of sleeping quality.Ok for staying for 3-4 nights,I wouldn't recommend for longer stay

The ratio quality price is really good so i indeed recommand to all google internaute to book to his hotel. The front desk make me a really good price for an amazing room .

I had a really nice stay at Hotel Excelsior. Location and staff is what I really want to highlight and that made my stay in Lisbon amazing. Hope to be back next year!

My family and I booked a room for one night in the Excelsior hotel in Lisbon and I was extremely disappointed in everything and in particular the room that we had received. The furniture was old, dusty and broken (including uncomfortable beds, and filthy walls and windows), the water coming out of the sink was a light shade of yellow and therefore revolting and the hotel itself was filled with an extremely unpleasant smell, making it impossible for my family and I to remain in the building any longer than a couple of minutes. The hotel staff showed and offered us alternative rooms. These however were in a similar unacceptable condition which left us with no choice but to leave the hotel and drive back to our hotel ro Algarve. I am very dissatisfied to say the least and would not recommend this hotel to anyone, due to the lack of comfort and poor hygiene which made a stay impossible. Additionally, booking.com, the site I used to book this hotel, was sadly in no way helpful and was not able to support me and the issues we had with the hotel. Defiantly not a hotel that deserves 3 stars and unquestionably a place I would never step foot in again.

Great staff, rooms cleaned every day, great location in the city, but very terrible food. Every morning identically the same food.

I don't know if I'm more angry or sad... Extremely noisy, not only because of construction work on the building during the day, but also because of guys who are literally camping in corridor whole night. This place is more like asylum camp. If you are planning to visit Lisbon for touristic reason, I would strongly recommend to avoid this place. Also to mention strange, dominant smell from the bathroom. Breakfast???

An OK hotel on a very good spot. I liked the personnel, they were very kind. But a bad breakfast and very mediocre rooms keep it from a better grade.

To be closed immediately. Rooms are not as advertised, breakfast is poor not even as level of a 3 star hotel. The rooms are with broken furniture, used shampoos, stained bathtub and the ventilation produces humming noise. The most alarming thing is the emergency exit filled and used as storage for the hotel.

Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms, particularly the bathroom are small for me.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Housekeepers did not respect "Do not disturb" sign, they were in room every time we left the hotel. Reception is ok. Wifi speed is low and conection is unstable. We put a reservation for a single room with family bed, but we got 2 separated beds and some of the walls need reconstruction and painting.
