This zoo had the happiest/most active animals I've witnessed in 3 continents of zoo exploration. The tigers were one of the highlights, along with an elephant dirt bath, and a fantastic kids play area complete with trampolines!

The zoo is big enough to spend a half of day. It has many paths that go up and down in the forest. Most of the animals are seen in almost natural environment and also they have winter shelters. Animals collection is not extremely diverse but shows the significant animals of North and South, west and east. They have giraffes, elephant, kangaroo, ext. Amazing display of interesting facts you can find in each area, as, for example, to listen to the area birds songs or find the fact of how long each animal sleeps. Zoo has a big cafe on its grounds and a few nice kids playground areas with surrounding chairs for parents. The adult entrance cost 10 euro with discounts for students and kids.

Such a wonderful experience, we came around 4.30pm, so we had about 2.5hrs until closing time and it was just enough to leisurely walk through, we also saw sea lions 🦭 being fed at 5pm (unfortunately only 5mins but still a great show), it was also perfect timing to avoid the biggest heat of the day. The toilets by the entrance are nice, otherwise you gave to use the portable ones. We also took a photo at the booth by the restaurant for 3€ and it was totally worth it :) So many animals had babies! We’d love to see more snakes tho. Overall a great day and amazing experience.

It allows you unlimited visits for one year from the day you buy it. I paied 75 eur for yearly tickets for me and my child (adults 45 €, kids 30€). Now I have access to a beautiful place where my son can learn about animals from all over the world and explore the wonders of nature. The zoo is now our favourite place to spend free time.

One of if not the best zoo my family and I have been to. They basically builded this zoo in a hill in Slovenia and kept the natural hikes and trails with minimal structures. Everything makes you feel so close to the animals and nature. The zoo is dog friendly, so your furry friends can enjoy an awesome walk around the zoo and see other animals. They have a restaurant in the zoo with inexpensive food and cold beverages. They also have a couple of super awesome playground for your kids.

This zoo is a nice place to visit for a few hours. Parking was a little hard to find. Purchasing tickets in person was easy and quick, even for our dog. There were water stations for the dogs throughout the park. There was a nice, but not huge variety of animals, not to mention the 20% grade walk uphill to see some exhibits. The playgrounds were fun for the kids. The restaurant there had nice tasting food but they were so busy that we had to wait about 15 minutes before the server even came to our table but once we ordered, everything was quick. The bathrooms/Porta potties were fairly clean. So in closing, this zoo is a nice visit and fun for kids.

Nice and friendly zoo, with a fair selection of the typical zoo animals. Always questionable if a zoo should exist and if we should visit it. Still, this one has reasonable space for the animals and they looked really healthy and shining. Only the elephant was a bit sad and lonely in our idea. Good for a couple of hours walking in the forest and on the hill with a look at great cats and several types of elk, moose and mountain goat. But also giraffe, sea lion and camels were present. Couple of small playgrounds, one nice little cafe in the centre of the zoo. Toilets were clean and sufficient. They sell the vegan magnum at the café. Reasonable ticket prices of 10 eur for an adult, discount for children students and seniors.

Loved it! Had interacted with the Black and White ruffed lemurs that are endangered species from Madagascar! The 2 little brothers were absolutely amazing and so friendly!! 5 stars and even more to Mary at the ticket box office that after a few phone calls to her team, made an exception for me that haven’t booked this experience in advance and got it right on the spot! Thank you Mary, you are absolutely wonderful!You need to prebook if you want an intimate experience with some of the animals weeks in advance. The zoo park itself has a lot of animals to see and enjoy. Not enough staff unfortunately but they all work hard and they are really friendly! I definitely recommend to visit this zoo if you have time to Ljubljana. Worths it!

We went there many times in our young ages 😉 and I must say that on some way I am impressed that they finally started to renovate and that they have some new things in the ZOO Ljubljana. If you compare it to ZOO in Zagreb, Wiena or Budapest it is a small ZOO but also Slovenia is small country 😁 They have also playground for kids and petting ZOO. There are new toilets and finally you can pay something with cards not only cash.

The zoo is of a good size and offers a variety of animals to admire. We did a tour in 1.5h. I would recommend that for tourists description of animals are offered also in foreign languages.

If you think it's flat terrain, think again. :-) It has quite enough ups and downs so it's more like hiking than walking. :-) Lots of wide animals to see and a restaurant with food and beverages. The entrance price is a little bit higher than I expected but it is worth paying for it. Prices in restaurant are affordable...don't change it. :-) The best thing is that there is enough parking lots. The only disappointment is that there is everything just in Slovenian. Other languages are available on Zoo Ljubljana app but when you get into Zoo you want to experience everything live not on the mobile phone. :-(

Great experience even though we went to visit it in late november. 10€ admision price isnt'that high considering you can sped well over a few hours walking the park. Most animals have big enough quarters, but some animals should have bigger quarters - like lions, elephant, bears and especially wolves. You need about 3-4 hours to go through the entire zoo, depending on how long you stay with each animal and if you return to revisit your favorite animals. Near the playground there's a restaurant where you can get something to eat and drink... prices in summer of 2022: daily ticker 10 eur (adult), 6,5 eur (children to age 14), free for children Ounger than 2 years. I really liked this ZOO. It's not small but not too big. You have to take big walks up to the hill to get to some animals but it's worth it. Most of the roads goes through the forest and it's just amazing. Beautiful! There are a bunch of interesting spieces and the animals were very active and healthy. Really brilliant zoo. I’ve never seen so many and such high-quality extra amenities in a zoo. Very wide variety of species. Some of the enclosures are very spacious (e.g. for the lovely Lynx.) I imagine it’s well subsidised (although I used the Ljubljana card). The overall zoo goes up a hill into the forest and it’s a beautiful walk. I went in winter, it was perfectly fine with the snow. In fact there was almost no one there and it might have made the animals more comfortable to come close.

Very nice big place to walk in the forest and see the animals. My daughter had so much fun cause it's also full with playgrounds and different activities for kide all ages. We just didn't see the 🦓. We couldn't find it on the map. There is also a nice restaurant near the playground where they serve different varieties of food. I took chicken with vegetables and it was good for the price. Pizzas and ice cream also available for kids. The parking spaces outside were free.
