Met with friends visiting town and staying around king's cross. The Fellow was recommended by a friend and the five of gathered my week evening for mostly drinks. The decore was nice and welcoming and atmosphere was very relaxed and warm. Like a good wine bar with enough space to feel intimate without sitting too close to other parties. We added 1kg fried chicks wings to help down the drinks. The place was busy but not packed. We ordered our drinks (more IPA selection would be nice and few more single malts wouldn't hurt). The service was quite good and food did not take long. Food took about 25 minutes and to be honest tasted more like boiled than fried but between 5 we managed to finish the lot. We stayed for several hours chatting till close time and overall great time between the good company, drinks and atmosphere. So highly recommended for drinks but on food maybe check for specific recommendations they do well.

Very handy for Kings Cross so I've popped in several times when waiting for trains or meeting people. It's a pleasant enough pub and service at the bar has always been quick. £6.85 for a Moretti.

Over £15 for a large glass of the cheapest wine and a small diet coke! Friday at 6pm, relatively busy. Staff served 2 people that arrived after me, (really annoys me when they do this). I ordered a large glass of their cheapest white wine and a pint of diet coke. The coke was clearly flat, I told this to the bar maid, who went and got her supervisor and was ordered to drink some flat pop because me seeing and tasting was not good enough. They agreed it was flat, and went off to change something or other, so the bar maid gave me a small bottle of coke and charged me over £15 for the 2 drinks. Main problem is there is nothing displayed to show the prices - see my photo with the wine list with no prices on it. Is that even legal? I did ask for their cheapest wine. I would not have had a drink had I have known it would be that expensive. I was too embarressed to hand the drinks back. This is by Kings Cross Station in a dodgy area so it should be cheap. That isnt even pub prices thats restaurant prices for drinks. I was in a pub by the Roundhouse theatre in London and paid £5.80 for a medium glass of white wine and half a diet coke, so was expecting a maximum of £10? I doubt they care about this review, as there are thousands of unsuapecting punters they can work their way through.... So if you want to be ignored, play guess the price and have your bank account emptied then this is for you

Didn't eat, just popped in for a few drinks with friends. Nice place, good atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. The guy who served us, (Jack I think, glasses and tattoos) was lovely. Quick with our order and no mistakes or adjustments to be made, polite, welcoming and professional. Well done

This was a great pub in London with some really good food. It was conveniently located close to our hotel which is how we found it but would also be a good place to seek out! The upstairs patio was really nice. The shareable steak and chips was REALLY good!

Lovely pub, great setting and location. HOWEVER, food took over an hour, only came after chasing. 3 meals - 1 was meant to be gluten free (wasn't, had a regular Yorkie, no replacement given) and 2 had missing items. When asked about missing items, was told one was unavailable today and the other was brought out towards the end of the meal. No replacement offered for the missing items. Food was lovely, just a shame about the other factors.

Beware of the “Christmas meals” - This place is a bit of a joke! We booked for 10ppl for a Christmas lunch and paid near enough £50/60 each with a few drinks! Service was ok and staff are friendly, also a nice atmosphere for drinks but maybe not a meal! It’s very very loud music so hard to hear each other and wow they are charging a pretty penny for below par food! We waited 1hr for the mains which were cold and salty, and we watched some dishes sit on the pass for 15mins whilst the rest of the table was being plated! The desserts are an absolute Disgrace! The “winter spiced cherry Bakewell with clotted cream” was actually three mr kipling Bakewell popped out of the tin casing with no clotted cream in sight. Some of the crumbles had no crumble and the “lemon thyme custard” was closer to vanilla flavoured milk! To be fair, they are working with a teeny tiny kitchen but if you’re going to charge £40 for a 2 course meal then serving Mr Kipling Desserts is completely unacceptable!

We came for Sunday roast last weekend. It was good of the staff to accommodate a table of six at short notice when they were clearly busy. The food was fine and the beef was nicely cooked, however someone needs some serious training in the sauce department. It was like water. A good gravy can save a mediocre roast, but unfortunately this deplorable dishwater spoiled an otherwise decent lunch.

I've been visiting the Fellow for a few years now and it's always been a pleasure. Love the atmosphere and music selection, staff is friendly and you can always count for a quick chat or a bit of laugh. The food is great, beer selection too and Ellie's passionfruit martini worth every penny! If you ever in King's Cross area, please do visit the Fellow. Literally 5 minutes away from the station. It's highly recommended by my Friends and myself! Next time I must book a table for Sunday roast- we heard it's top notch!

Definitely one of the better pubs near Kings Cross. Great central location or if you’re early for a train or meeting someone. Good beer selection, friendly staff, got a table no problem on a Saturday afternoon. Simple bar menu; burgers, sausages, chips etc with veggie options.

A great place and chance find. Our son has just moved to the area and we decided on lunch. We walked to the local at tge other end if the street to find they dont do food at weekends. We moved on 200m and stumbled on the Fellow and were greeted by happy freindly staff who could efficiently accommodate us. Good food and beer what more could you want or expect? Will go back next time we are in London

Cracking little pub, always busy - has its pros and cons; frustrating as it’s tough to get a table, but it’s also great atmosphere. A classic first date spot, been on about 5 first dates here. Classic London drinks prices, should expect this as it’s a London pub… would recommend and will probs be back in the future (but not for another first date).

Location is perfect if you are catching a train after lunch. Sadly the Roast beef dinner was spoiled by the pickled red cabbage dominating everything else on the plate, no other flavours were discernable! The Fish and Chips were fine, the Guiness was good, I still do not believe that Coke from a tap works, give me a can or a bottle every time.

Had lunch here on a Monday so not empty but not busy. Really liked the layout and decor and staff were super friendly and helpful. Lots of gin options! Food though was average at best and only one veggie option which was a cold dish. Almost no vegetables on the menu though the person taking my order suggested a mixed salad which I hdn't realised I could ask for. Sadly, nice though that was, it was far too salty. But for drinks its a great venue

Food is lovely. My only criticism is there could be more gravy with the roast dinners and for ease of eating a plate would be better than a bowl. Atmosphere was buzzing, and the staff are welcoming and friendly.

We booked the private dining room for a retirement celebration. The booking process and the service were both excellent, but the room was absolutely freezing. We had not been warned in advance that the room had no heating, so this was quite a shock. Everyone had to spend the night in coats and scarves, which was far from the atmosphere we had hoped for. We asked for heaters, but nothing was available. Had we known the room would be so cold on a January evening, we would definitely have booked an alternative venue. A shame as everything else was great.

Ordered a fish finger sando which was the cheapest lunch option (around £10.50). It was actually really well made, fresh brown bread, well toasted and the whole sandwich was tasty. Didn’t come with fries or salad… pint was over £6. Should definitely do a Mon - Fri lunch deal as it’s quite steep.

Food was really good. This is a popular pub and gets busy, even on a Wednesday at 5:30pm. Reasonable price for London and our food arrived quite promptly. Would recommend for a pub burger meal.

Comfy, big, beer is okay, staff friendly. Not much more than that really, could be any decent pub anywhere, but it's none the worse for that. It's the sort of place you enjoy through who you're with rather than where you are.

We'll always love The Fellow. Towards the end of last year we had a small COVID-era wedding with ourselves and 9 guests, and wanted somewhere to just do a simple wedding dinner. After a change in law 2 weeks before the wedding, we came to The Fellow about their private room and they were so accommodating, reduced the stress of rearranging and downsizing our wedding, looked after us and our small party beautifully on the day, and were one of many reasons our wedding day was so special. Food was fab too, and the private room is gorgeous for small dinners that are laid back and efficiently priced. Long live The Fellow.

Very long wait for drinks and food. We arrived at the pub at 1:15 and didn’t get our roast dinners till 3pm! There were several tables that arrived after us that were served first. Will not be back. Shame as it’s a great location for friends/family meet ups.

Traditional pub close to king's cross station. Ideal for a pit stop if you arrived early to the station or your train got delayed. There offer a great selection of craft and mainstream beer, as well as pub food. Nice staff and great atmosphere.

Went here with family. One person in the family has celiac disease and when we got to the pub we asked if they had a gluten free menu and explained the condition. We were told it was fine, but after we ordered and paid, another person (not sure of it was the chef or the manager), came out saying we couldn't get anything from the menu, because the kitchen was all 'contaminated'. I don't understand why we were not told when we asked or why do they even bother to have allergies menu when they can't guarantee that there's no cross contamination in the kitchen. Definitely a place to avoid if you have any food allergy.

Visited for Sunday roast. We had two pork and one beef. Pros: Good service received via phone booking. Waitress advised us to book our meals, which we thankfully did, as we heard the food ran out when we arrived. Decent beer selection. Sunday roast beef, veggies, puds and gravy were all done properly and delicious. Cons: Pork was horrendously dry. Considering the great quality of the accompanying veggies, this was really confusing. Hopefully just an off day from the meat chef, or perhaps we were unlucky enough to get the end cuts.

This place had really good reviews. Went there for Sunday lunch with my son. Service seemed slightly disorganised. The actual dinner when we got it was like warm, no gravy (maybe it's a London thing) The roast potatoes were white, definitely not roasted, I had beef, I slice of beef with what looked like tinned beef on top of it. After a long train journey I ate the lot nearly out of hunger. For the price I wish we'd of gone to any others round Kings Cross which had queues and for less money. Waiting staff never came round once to ask if everything was alright.

Popped in for a quick drink before our gig in the Roundhouse and accidentally ended up with the best seats in the house for watching the Football (England v France in the World Cup). I dont think it would normally be the type of venue where you'd watch the footy. By the time the game started it was heaving in there. We left after about 15 mins into the game and gave our seats to some people who we liked the look of. The place was generally very friendly and had a nice vibe.

First time at this great old pub and hopefully will return. When I walked in the atmosphere was brilliant and the ladies behind the bar were busy but very professional and polite and just came across as really nice. My table was upstairs and was ready on time. The table was not wiped and despite asking to get this done I ended up doing it myself with a cloth and spray I spotted on the upstaires bar. The sunday roasts came and were superb, wine list was small but all nice choices, I ordered the Albarino which was lovely. I thought it a shame that no-one checks on the table during service but perhaps this is not part of what you do. As you pay as you go at the bar it meant I didn't really get chance to tip which was a shame as I thought the bar staff deserved it. A great London pub and enjoyable lunch!!

Meh. Me and my cousin came here for food and drink. Although I had booked in advance, they had failed to tell me that they had a large party in and would not be able to serve my food until an hour later. They had waited until the food was ordered and paid for before mentioning this (already cost just short of £100 for drinks, starter to share a main each) The “salt fish fritter” (£9) was actually quite nice. Not a fritter, but tasted good. We both got the sausage and crushed potato main (I think £16/£18 each) was awful. Unseasoned, meat over cooked and everything else undercooked. Tried to talk to staff about it but they walked past us without acknowledging for a good 30/45 minutes. Now dessert - 15 minute wait for ice cream (£9) and a piece of brownie (£7.50) Not great but not terrible. The kicker was when we ordered a bottle of still water (£5.15) After waiting an hour, I got up, went to the bar and asked to collect it myself. I spent around £130 for the two of us and was incredibly disappointed. It’s just a run down gastropub with bistro prices. No desire to return.

Not taking COVID seriously enough. They crammed a booking for 6 people onto a table which under the circumstances would be inappropriate for 4 with the people on the ends practically sat in the corridor with people constantly walking past. Wouldn’t come again.

Good food, good beer and fair prices! We got the fish and chips and it was delicious. Fun and friendly staff. They however seem to have had issues with the wings since it was 8$/5 or 30$/15 so the math didn't workout but besides that great time!

Dog friendly, tasty food, really nice staff. Four stars because veggie options are very limited, this should be better for somewhere so established and central. I wouldn’t eat here again for this reason sadly.

I love this pub, just a stone's throw from Kings Cross station, with good atmosphere, and a great little roof terrace. They seem to be managing the social distancing regulations well too, with fast table service and one way entrance and exit routes.

  • 2/5 Diana S. 3 years ago on Google
Beer and the terrace are nice. However, no one told us we couldn’t move up to the terrace so we decided to go check if that was possible and when we sat down one of the staff guys came and started shouting at me that I couldn’t sit there, and saying I can’t just do what I want. I apologised and said we would move back downstairs but he continued to scream at me saying I can’t just do that bla bla bla. Clearly a miscommunication but very violent and scary to be screamed at when I was complying straight away. I get these are stressful times but there are better ways to approach that situation and not display your toxic masculinity with clients.

Nice pub, great location, lovely staff, not too sure about the food. We ordered a few small plates to share ... beef chilli is not a very usual and easy to share starter. Also not impressed at all with the green winter, basically boiled pasta with some sauce and some raw spinach and pieces of cheese on the top.

Was over for the weekend was after coming back from the Chelsea game said I’d go to this place for a roast dinner. My friend ordered beef and I ordered roast chicken . We waited 35 minutes before they came to us. When the food arrived it was stone cold and when we told them they were in disbelief but she took it back and reheated it . The Yorkshire pudding was like you’d be eating a packet crisps was burnt and the roast potatoes were like a stone so hard . The chicken was a disaster . Here is a photo attached of it . Disgusting.

At 12:15 booked a table using the website for 14:15. Arrived to be told no record (showed my email confirmation) as the bookings take 3 hours to appear, we had to wait on various free tables and be moved around as booking turned up until we were eventually we were lucky enough there was a no show. The staff were helpful but the booking system delay is ridiculous. Also zero greens on the roast which was otherwise good.
