This pub is huge. It also has a great history dating back to the 1550s. Originally an inn that burnt down in the Great Fire. Rebuilt and converted to a bank in the 1900s. Now, of course, a Wetherspoons. It has some beautiful fixtures and fittings, a large domed ceiling, and wonderful marble pillars. Lots of seating here, which still gets filled up. The service is good, so long as you use the Wetherspoons app. Great choice of beers, wine and spirits and a very lively atmosphere.

A fine establishment for the brand. Perfectly decorated for a proper typical wetherspoons. There are some renovations currently bring undertaken so as long as it doesn't ruin the atmosphere then it'll be kept up to date. This had been as part of our 20 spoons I one day. More to come throughout the day

We stayed at the hotel next door (check out my review of CQ Hotel if you're looking for a good value hotel) and rather than pay for a breakfast there, we decided to go to The Crosse Keys instead. They serve breakfast daily until 11.30am. It's a large building with lots of space, plenty of tables and a central bar area at the back of the premises. It was very clean & the staff were friendly. The lady who served us was wearing a body worn video (BWV), because like many other places, they'd experienced a number of spikings. So the introduction of BWV is designed to help stop this from happening, so I think this is a good move and Weatherspoons should be applauded for this 👏. We arrived late morning and ordered a porridge, two traditional breakfasts at £4.95 each and one large breakfast at £6.95. Each extra item was 65p. So not bad value at all as all came with a hot drink with free refills. The food arrived promptly, was piping hot and was exactly what we'd ordered. Condiments were available from a central area and the hot drinks dispenser the same. A convenient stop for breakfast. Both Embankment & Bank underground stations are both easily reached inside 5 minutes on foot with the Monument landmark & sky garden also nearby, and the River Thames and the Thames Path about 10 minutes.

Amazing place to have a budget friendly beer and food in the heart of London city. The place is very spacious but crowded. You need to come early or wait to get seats. Good was also good in quantity and tasty. Highly recommend when hanging out with friends 😊

Food is relatively cheap. They say you get what you pay for. In this case i think not. I always know what to expect from Wetherspoons and that is just average quality. After last nights 'meal' i will never eat there again. I'd rather pay a few quid more and enjoy my food. It rarely comes to the table hot.

Newly refurbished 'spoons that looks remarkably similar to what it used to look like. The ceiling looks all wonderful and new with new anti-pigeon meshing- not sure if this is finished or not. Lots of efficient staff about covering these large space. A couple of smaller areas upstairs in the back of the pub. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar.

Absolutely loved this weatherspoons!! They sold Laphroaig and at a great price..the building was very clean and very impressive. The staff were as always very helpful and cheerful. The food as always was really good and prices not that more expensive than Manchester. Id be back again. They had a huge TV screen too.

Best Wetherspoons in London….Hands down. The food was delicious and quick. The staff comes check up on you and says “enjoy your meal” and “how is the food”. I am mind blown. This is crazy great service in a London Wetherspoons 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Not to mention it’s also in an old bank building. The lighting was not harsh, the ceilings were tall, tables are spaced far apart and it’s not loud. What can you ask for more????? 😍😍😍

Big Wetherspoons, absolutely packed for a Wednesday at 4pm but managed to find a table. Service was super speedy, staff were constantly on the move clearing empty glasses and bringing out new drinks. Food was alright, nothing mind blowing but cheap and cheerful. The one complaint is the other patrons! It was very noisy (typical), but people were just rude and pushing past chairs rather than saying excuse me or asking for seats to be tucked in.

Great location, high ceilings, the building history beats other Wetherspoons. Obviously, prices same as other branches and foods average, tho the spicy pizza is pretty punchy. We had at least 3 drinks per person plus five plates of food among four of us, a bargain in this part of town.

Spoons Christmas Dinner was sublime. Beautiful building, wide variety of patrons and quick to get served at the bar

Stunning building and entrance very grand, came here for a quick lunch. It was quite busy, which is usual for weatherspoons but plenty of seating. However, there was a quiet room to enjoy some peace, and the toilets are downstairs.

A cool Wetherspoons, one of the most interesting ones I’ve been to! Staff were attentive, however it took us 30 minutes to order food as most of the menu was sold out due to an issue with delivery! Managed to get 2 burgers, which were cooked well!

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF THIS PUB WAS NOT GREAT THANKS TO THE SECURITY. did not enjoy my time here...not coming back... The only pros were the bar staff, they were nice and quick service. And the pub has a nice interior. I got to the pub at 10.15pm as a pre drink location with a friend. there is SECURITY staff - 1 outside and 2 inside. My friend arrived at 10.30pm. She rang me that she was REFUSED ENTRY by the security staff stationed outside. I asked the security staff to let her in as I have bought drinks for her. His SOLUTION for me was to either down it or find a plastic bottle/cups to take with me outside... 2 other people came to grab their belongings the security staff did not let them in either... my friend and 2 people were refused entry (and potentially myself aha). After some RAISED VOICES and PUSHING. Another security staff inside saw the commotion outside, he finally let us in. I ordered 2 cocktail pitchers and a bowl of chips for me and my friend. The chips were meh. My friend and I quickly downed the pitchers (woo woo & S on the Beach) only for it to taste like JUICE... The same security staff outside came in and was ON OUR BACKS TO FINISH OUR DRINKS EVERY 2 MINS...

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Table service via the app. So nice to sit inside with friends and have a cold draft pint in a glass!! Oh the simple things in life...

The Crosse Keys is a typical Wheterspoon pub where you can find the usual drink and food options but I liked the place and I consider it a good choice if you are looking for a cheap meal or a place to have a drink with some friends!

One of the best interiors I've seen in a Wetherspoon pub and restaurant. Ordering wasn't too bad, order off the app or await table service. Enjoyed a Doom bar and a Shipyard. The food was better than expected, I shared some chips and onion rings. Would definitely go back when the restrictions are lifted 👍 💯

This Weatherspoon is located in a magnificent building, which previously must have been some kind of city trading house. It has plenty of artefacts to see, grand high ceilings and plenty of space to sit and relax. There’s loads of bar space at the circular bar and a good selection of several real ale beers

A very good pub and a brilliant Weatherspoons. Beautiful building in a fantastic location. Somewhere you can get a half decent pint in the city without it costing a fortune.

Brilliant picturesque pub in the city with beautiful architecture. Although it is a spoons it does have a certain quintessential vibe in decor (for a few seconds) however this does fade. Beautiful prices (pints under £6 in central??). One drawback is lack of outside drinking.

This is a large and unashamedly Wetherspoons pub, situated quite close to the Bank of England in the heart of London's financial district. In my opinion, it's ideal for meeting with friends and colleagues for a drink and/or a meal after work, as long as you accept that this IS a Wetherspoons and the food will be simple and traditional "pub fare" and not "gastro-pub". Food and drinks prices are competitive and there is plenty of space to enable socially distanced socialising, even though there is currently some internal remodelling taking place. This was my first visit, but I had a good evening, together with friends.

Cool pub and decent for a Wetherspoon's. Decent food, decent drinks. Loved the breakfasts. Really handy right next to our hotel, they let us in via the hotel. It used to be an old bank so the place is really nice inside. Nice staff, quick service. Can't complain! Would defo go back

As pubs go this is OK BUT the food is very average (at best), we ordered scampi (nothing special but ok) and an American burger which frankly was very poor. To be honest the burgers at a national and well known fast food place run by a clown are bigger, better, cheaper and probably more nutritional. Fortunately we found some condiments to supplement the lack of attention to creating an edible burger. Atmosphere, it's an after work pub so busy and noisy but fine. Staff were very helpful and bar service fast considering how busy it was so good work there!

Beautiful spoons huge pub. It is actually gem to have spoons in the middle of London. Spending less with great choices of beer is we all want now. Atmosphere was great. Their app ordering and delivery time were great compared to other spoons. Walking distance to London Canon Street station. Plenty of food and snack choices on the menu. Must visit.

A wonderful cavernous building! A great pub, well done Wetherspoons. Another visit, I have never been disappointed here. Great beer, great staff and many a bacon butty for breakfast. Always great value from the bar, also great value to all for taking the building forward.

Cheap Food & Alcohol in the City!!! 😁 The only Weatherspoons Pub in the City! Great for lunch and after work drinks, great prices for the City too as they still have the standard Wetherspoons menu & same prices. Large pub but gets very busy so if your planning after work drinks I would suggest you pre book a table. The food is good too! On this occasion I had the steak deal which comes with a glass of wine. Quick service at lunch time too! Good cut of steak and nice chips too! Overall great place to hang out 💃🍷🍹🍽

A huge Spoons in a former banking hall. The acoustics mean it can be a bit noisy and the tables are a little too close together for my liking. Food is good value for the area, especially the dishes with a drinks deal. Great pizza.

Not bad for a central spoons! Good prices, great range of food and drink, lots of space for everyone to find a table, great staff... the only down points would be the hall-like nature of the place... it's just one huge room so can be loud and echoy. Its never going to be THAT clean or THAT atmospheric cause it's wetherspoons.... but for what you pay and where it's a good bet.

went on a Saturday lunchtime. was quite busy but this place is very large it didn't mater.Plenty of places to sit and very clean toilets. Drinks here are more expensive than most spoons pubs, but it's in the heart of the city, so still cheaper than anywhere else around.Ordered the breakfast and it was served quick and hot.

Food was nice for a Spoons - I had the curry with no Naans. Staff were very friendly, and it was actually quite quiet!

Nice clean spoons pub in the heart of the city. Taking off one star as service at the bar always seems slow. The prices are higher than other spoons but I suppose it’s due to the location of this spoons. Overall, a decent place to pop into when I’m Town.

Nice to have it open again and on our doorstep. Love the chicken wings, my default go to with their food. It's a Wetherspoons so you know what you will get . Not too busy so we got served quickly. The app is good and be would recommend using it.
