🚇 Cannonbury
🍺 £5.40
Amstel
❤️
A
welcoming
and
subtly
elegant
pub.
.
The
Lady
Mildmay
is
located
just
off
the
leafy
park
in
Newington
Green.
The
nearest
station
is
Canonbury
overground
which
is
a
ten
minute
walk
away.
.
This
pub
was
built
mid
19th
century
and
was
originally
called
The
Clarendon.
The
pub
has
had
many
monikers
over
the
years,
the
current
name
is
actually
taken
from
the
long
closed
Lady
Mildmay
pub
which
was
situated
just
around
the
corner
in
Wolsey
Road.
.
The
decor
here
is
elegant
in
an
understated
way
with
lots
of
period
features
hiding
in
plain
sight.
The
light
walls
are
accented
by
the
burgundy
painted
wall
panels
and
ceiling.
The
seating
is
made
up
of
traditional
tables
and
chairs
with
a
few
chesterfields
and
church
pews
thrown
in
for
good
measure.
Around
the
walls
are
artwork’s,
mirrors
and
chalkboards
displaying
food
and
wine
options.
.
The
Beer
choice
was
pretty
good
which
included
four
cask
ales
from
London
breweries.
My
pint
of
choice
was
Amstel,
my
pint
was
great
and
reasonably
priced
at
just
north
of
a
fiver.
The
food
menu
is
Mediterranean
themed,
I
didn’t
eat
here
on
this
visit
but
I
have
to
say
the
menu
looked
very
appetising.
.
The
pub
was
busy
on
this
Saturday
afternoon
and
I
was
lucky
enough
to
find
a
seat.
The
atmosphere
was
upbeat
and
there
was
a
nice
buzz
around
the
place.
The
crowd
was
local
with
a
few
young
families
in
attendance.
The
service
was
excellent
and
the
staff
were
personable
and
chatty.
.
The
@ladymildmaypub
is
a
welcoming
pub
with
a
subtle
elegance.
The
beer
choice
was
superb
and
supports
local
London
breweries.
The
food
is
a
big
hit
with
the
locals
and
the
service
was
on
point.
This
is
a
solid
traditional
boozer
and
well
worth
a
visit.
