This is outrageous! The room was not clean when we arrived, there was dust in the cupboards. We wanted to take a shower but there was no water! When we reported the problem, we were asked to wait 24 hours, so we had to insist that they find a solution to the problem! And when we returned at the end of the day's visit, we found that the bedroom door was open, the cleaning staff had moved our things during the cleaning and left the door open with our valuables! This is unacceptable! I would not recommend this place at all!

DO NOT GO HERE - SCAM! In my case I was given a room that did not match the pictures at all. No bathroom, no shower - only a dirty broom closet converted into a toilet. I don't want to complain about the size of the room, if at least it was clean and didn't have any stains or mold on the bed, on the floor and on the walls. For £75 a night I would have preferred to sleep on a park bench because it was just disgusting. "Sorry, there is no possibility to take a shower" This hotel is a scam!

When we arrived, there was no water in the room, I had to wait 1 day to get some. The manager didn't want to call the technician and made us wait 2 days without water. The door to our room was left open, the cleaners didn't close the door and touched our personal belongings. When we arrived at 2 a.m., the person at reception was asleep, so we had to listen for 40 minutes in the cold... they didn't change the towels and the cushions were too big, so we slept very badly. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.

A budget hotel with small but clean rooms. All you need if you're just intending to sleep there. Several terraced houses joined internally with rooms in each. Plenty of rooms, proper reception desk. Looks good outside. Clean. Very close to Kings Cross and St Pancreas stations. All you need.

Absolutely disgusted. Was put in basement room. It was, cold, damp, smelly. Looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned for months. Furniture was damaged and shower head, tiles and floor was filthy. Mould and damp on the curtains! Previously used soap bars were provided for us. Worst nights sleep I've ever had. Was over charged for our stay. Will not be going back here again. I've had to put 1 star just to write the review but it isn't worth it at all!

Nice facilities, but this is definitely a hostel, not a hotel. Why has it been branded as a hotel? Otherwise clean and nice staff

Hotel was peaceful and location was good. Most shops ect was in walking distance. The staff were lovely. Any questions asked was answered and they were generally helpful. The room itself was spacious enough for a family of 5. Only issue we did have was the shower leaked and left pool of water on floor after each use. We ended up using a towel to soak up any water when being used. Over all our stay was lovely. All slept well and had no major issues.

This is a really grim hotel. The only good thing I can say about it is that the location is good, it's really close to Kings Cross station, but the hotel itself is dilapidated and depressing and not well cleaned or maintained. I would definitely avoid this if you can, it's a real false economy.

If I could leave a review without giving a star I would. Awful, smelly dodgy looking lock, dirty, simply shocking- I refused to stay and instead travelled out to family where I could feel SAFE _ SECURE. Booked because I needed to be in the area the following day but found a basement room so poorly kept down some very run down and narrow stairs. On trying to leave remembering which door led to fire exit. The main exit or brick wall was challenging due to incredibly lack of signage. The concierge seemed surprised that I didn't want to stay in such an awful room and offered me to see another but I had seen and smelt enough- The European Hotel's extremely low standards led me to decide I didn't want to spend anymore time in the building. I need a refund!!!

Great value for money in the area for short stay. Havin a TV in the room is an added plus in comparison to other options in the area at the same cost. Only downfall for me was squeak floorboards which meant could heat every time the people in the room above me walked about (including 2am) and the noise of the toilet cistern when flushing but other than that, easy check in, clean and comfortable and great hot water supply!

Short notice £90 per night in Central London what do you expect? Clean comfy bed, hot shower & very friendly helpful staff. Fulfilled everything I needed for 3 nights. It's basic but that reflects in the price.

Basic small double room. Cheaper than any equivalents around Kings Cross area for last minute booking. Not luxury, but perfectly fine with good shower, reasonable mattress and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Recommended.

I ended up stuck at King's Cross at 2 in the morning thanks to delayed flights and the train service ending. I literally had nowhere to go but managed to book a room at this hotel. No, it's not The Ritz, but it saved me from sleeping in the train station and only cost 60 quid (also had a pretty decent shower).

  • 5/5 Rob H. 5 months ago on Google
Absolutely the best value for money in the area. Clean, warm, ensuite and coffee for about 50 quid. Wouldn't go there for a honeymoon but as a stop over in London...spot on. Lovely reception staff too.

A cramped room that smelled of cigarettes which was unpleasant for sleeping. Bed and wall shook from people walking on the stairs. Could hear TV loudly from room next door, and all plumbing/water noises from other rooms. Owners have installed the cheapest rubbish bed and incredibly dated furniture and made no effort to update it in any way. Bathroom cramped and musty but the water was hot. Annoying things like no plug sockets by the bed, no bathroom floor mat, and no bedside lamp. Sheets seemed clean but I was wary of the colourful quilt over top. Location great if you need to be by Kings Cross/transport options.

The WORST NIGHT I had IN YEARS!! Strange bugs stung me in the bed, TINY rooms with a bathroom full of mold and the most uncomfortable bed ever! No wonder this hotel has zero stars. If possible, I would give them minus-stars. I had to change hotel. The hotel next door is cheaper and is better

This " hotel " look s good on the Web site and as had booked on line therein lies the problem, the outside picture of the hotel is correct and the location is of course excellent. I think this accommodation inside represents King's Cross of the 1960s A very small room, one tiny bar of soap no hair dryer and the smallest tv I have ever seen. There are no common areas nor a foyer to sit and relax for a period. The reception area is fully covered with glass which gives the feeling of a police station! The bedroom is " cell like , the [ without breakfast ] cost 116 euros admit peak season but what this accommodation purports to offer should be priced in the 50 to 60 sterling pounds range maximum irrespective of time of year . To be fair I had a good night sleep and staff quite friendly. But the creaking floor s and stairs and general internal condition left one with a rather bleak and sad mindset. The good news is I was alone and so without family or otherwise I would have proberly checked out on arrival sorry to say !

as a as a world traveler and a New Yorker read the fine print when I looked at this hotel, I was looking for something inexpensive, and next to the train station that was comfortable I looked at the pictures, and I knew by looking at the pictures that it would not be a five-star hotel. Set up for those of you that were expecting a five star hotel experience in this local place you need to pay more attention the staff is Lovelace run by beautiful, wonderful Italian family. It is a cheap place to stay in the center of town right next to the International train station, which is what I need to go back to Paris so I will be back here again because you get what you pay for. signora di popolo grazie mille

Budget is certainly the key word here. Was put in one of the basement rooms and was absolutely disgusting. Awful musty smell, dirty bed sheets and overall a disgusting room and experience. Not worth the money and certainly won't be returning.

Very simple hotel. The only good thing about it is the location which is really convenient. But the bathroom looked dirty. The toilet looked as if they had never cleaned it with bleach or any other desinfectant as it was completely stained. And the shower drain was full of hair so water could not flow. I have to admit that, at least, what we asked we got (towels, a hair drier, the hair from the drain to be removed).

Hello European Hotel, do you want a room with mold in the bathroom? Mold on the shower head! Do you want dirt and mold on the sink in the bathroom? Rusty places where there was once metal! Would you like a room in winter where the heating is only turned on in the afternoon? A bed for 2 people with a maximum width of 1.20 is very narrow.

overpriced room for an absent service incompetent staff.. we arrived at 2:30pm and although we were assured the room would be ready for 2pm, the cleaning staff were barely starting.. when we went to tell the receptionist we weren't even taken seriously £65 for a £20 worth room.. smells particularly bad.. we found a band-aid on the floor!! this is honestly ridiculous.. not worth your time.

Very reasonable prices. Clean rooms and enough facilities for a comfortable stay. However lack of lifts becomes a barrier for the disabled and elderly. During Covid situation, no breakfast is available.

I'll definitely come back here. The place is very basic but perfect for two nights. The shower was decent and the Wifi worked well. Very caring receptionist too. Just bring your own toiletries and hair dryer. Also no breakfast because of covid but there is a kettle for tea/coffee in the room.

The room was so clean and convenient for everything. The staff couldn't do enough so helpful. Especially Lucy the receptionist she made our stay extra special. If I ever needed a receptionist I would definitely ask Lucy. Thank you so much Lucy

Ok so first of all, the staff here are very, very accommodating and friendly. They are responsive to emails and happy to help you figure out problems. The rooms leave a ton to be desired, no AC, very small, and none of the trappings of a chain hotel. That being said I need a cheap bed in London with a lock on the door and this hotel provided. It's not the just comfortable but if cost is your barrier, this hotel will suit you just fine and the short comings are countered by the helpful staff

Enjoyed London , but definitely not the hotel , the first room we were allocated was in the basement, couldn’t plug fridge in , this was a small fridge on the floor , the cable wasn’t long enough to reach the socket, the room was dirty and smelt damp, we was then given another room , this too was in the basement ,this room also smelt of damp ,we had to fill the kettle up by using a cup, ( sink was too small to fill the kettle up ) and the best is yet to come !! I have never seen a shower , shower head and sink so dirty , the carpets through out looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for months .

ugly hotel, dirty room, too expensive, it stinks (very very smelly)!!! the staff is incompetent, unfriendly and mean.... why open a hotel if you don't know how to run it properly? dont go there, thats a shame. im shocked😠 65£ for a room worth just £10

Kind manager. But in the hotel, I was surprised that there was a water bottle in the refrigerator, and it filled half of the bottle. Someone drank It and left, but nobody threw it away. The more surprising fact is that the fridge didn't work. Also the bed and blanket were not clean. And too cold. It was the worst experience. There is only one good thing is the location. It is very close to Kings cross at cheap price.

No sleep until 4am due to loud noise in the park across from the hotel. Hotel room faced the street. Loud motorbikes driven up and down the road outside the hotel all night long. Hotel staff said there is nothing they can do about it. I suggested they file a complaint with their local council if they want to keep their paying guests happy.

This was a horrible room. Perhaps I'm just too northern but paying 130 quid for a hotel room that was worth 40 quid at the most grates with me. The benefits were, it was clean and near King Cross. Everything else was bad, paper thin walls and windows, very small bathroom, I wasn't going to use the kettle, old, tired, scruffy. Just awful really. I wouldn't bring a stag do here never mind a family vacation.

  • 2/5 Paul F. 2 years ago on Google
This is more of a hostel than a hotel. The room itself was clean and very simple. It's fine if you literally just need a place to sleep at night and nothing else. Didn't brave the shared shower as looked grim and it was clear the toilet didn't get cleaned in the two nights I spent there. Had to find the shower and toilet myself as wasn't shown where they were. There was a free breakfast but I didn't have it as no one mentioned it when I arrived and given the state of the rest of the place I didn't think I'd be missing anything. If you just need a bed for the night, it's good value but if you have anything approaching standards, it'd probably not for you.

  • 2/5 Johanna G. 1 year ago on Google
Perfect Location, but that is the only good thing I can say. Room was tiny, dirty, matresses rock-hard. No breakfast, although it had been advertised. Cleaning obviously is overrated. So ok it was rather cheap by London standards, but I do like my bathroom clean and I am not a friend of other people's dust bunnies under the bed.
