The location is great. The rooms are really small. Do not stay there for more than two nights. Rooms are suited for a single person. The whole bathroom gets really wet when taking shower. The glass window for toilet is no privacy at all. Not a comfortable stay. Travel light with no big luggage because there’s not enough space in the room.

Let me start by saying that in Central London, the Z Hotel Soho is great value for money. It's location is perfect for any tourist trying to squeeze a lot into a short time period. That said, our room was tiny and the bed mattress was hard. Nevertheless, I slept well enough! If I was staying here again, I'd definately go for an upgraded room.

I saw other reviews about the beds being poor but I figured those reviewers were more sensitive than me (I can generally sleep anywhere). Nope, it’s intolerable. It’s a very thin, impossibly dense futon. Last night I slept on the pillows and towels instead. It’s a shame, because everything else about the hotel is great. But until they change the mattresses, I would avoid at all costs.

We picked this hotel because of the great location in Soho! Keep in mind you are sacrificing peace and quiet. The lift was broken when we stayed, we understand but be prepared to hike your bag all.over the place. Also, could have been just our room issue, but sewage smell leaked out from the shower- had to constantly keep the window open to get fresh air. Bottom line, if you want a location that close to the party, stay here. The staff was nice

We stayed for a night in October. It’s the worst £243 I’ve ever spent. Positives: The location is superb, in the heart of Soho, with a plethora of fantastic eateries on the doorstep. It’s a short walk to theatres too. I loved the compact design of the room and the shower was particularly good. The staff were brilliant and so helpful. Negatives: Our room was a trek to the third floor (I walk with a stick and requested a room with easy access). There is a lift, and an outdoor spiral staircase, which was not an option when pouring with rain. The bed was rock hard, the duvet ridiculously heavy and the room so hot, we were sweating (the AC wasn’t working, which appears to be its default state). I had also requested a quiet room. It turned out the Queen rooms are on the noisiest side of the hotel, according to the receptionist (despite being pricier), with vehicles continually driving over loose, loud metal drain covers all night. There was also no wifi. After zero hours sleep at 3:30am, I went down to reception to request a room change. They were incredibly helpful, understanding and apologetic (I got the impression they might be used to regularly apologising and offering complimentary breakfast and late check-out). We were moved to an accessible room, far more spacious, quieter and with a super-comfy bed and lovely, light duvet. However, the room had a tang of the drains and the window was sealed shut, which was particularly unpleasant and the air con wreaked of stale water. We were offered a free breakfast, but, even with our late checkout, we ran out of time. We had to cut our London break short and travel home early, being thoroughly exhausted after only two hours sleep. Never, ever again!

The staff are friendly and welcoming on arrival. This is not an expensive hotel but fantastic for central London and right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Soho. We’ve stayed here a few times and had various rooms, this time we had a larger room with 2 windows which made it feel slightly airier and looking out onto Shaftesbury Avenue (it can get loud into the night on a weekend though). Our room didn’t have much storage or walking space but a big shower area. Not that any of them are very private l!

I have stayed with Z Hotels before and like their locations and the compact design. I also like the members' cheese and wine twist. I chose a different location to usual, this time. It is the original one, apparently. The design is cute. The rooms are standard for Z Hotels (you like them or hate them, I suppose). I arrived and wanted a shower before heading to a work event. It was humid and grim out and so I really needed to freshen-up. But there was no hot water. At all. That was early evening. I notice others have encountered this problem before. I mentioned it on the way out but was told that there was a boiler problem that was being fixed. These things happen but warning me upon check-in would have been helpful. I could have boiled the kettle and used the sink, at least! I asked upon check-in about the cheese and wine times. I was told 6.30 til 11/1130. Off I went and came back at around 9.30, hoping to have a little cheese and crackers with a glass of red. Nothing. No staff in the back area and no signs of any food or drink. This was not my most enjoyable stay at a Z Hotel, I am sad to say.

Wouldn't call it a luxury hotel by any means, but I've been regularly staying at this hotel for the staff friendliness, closeness to everything and cosiness. I travel for business and work out of WeWork so I'm not needing a lot of space. The hotel has recently renovated and created suites/flats which are massive compared to the other rooms. They have a full kitchen, desk, separate bathroom with actual walls and massive fluffy bed. Ask for this room if you're needing more space, but I got lucky and was upgraded to it for my recent visit. The unfortunate thing is those newly renovated rooms are not accessible. You take the lift to the 4th floor and then have to take a few narrow sets of stairs to reach them. My room was technically on the 1st floor so seemed a bit bonkers that I had to go to the 4th in a lift and then take stairs back down to get to the room, but that's just the set up and trade off. The staff are super wonderful and kind no matter what hours of the night or morning. I've never had a poor experience or felt unwelcome with them. The location is amazing and steps from everything you could need in the fun Soho district. Unfortunately this also means you hear everything so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. If you book directly through the hotel and sign up for their free membership, you get a discount on the rooms and free wine and cheese on check in.

Do Not Stay Here! Under any circumstances! The entire hotel is overpowered by a disgusting odour that seems to be coming from the carpets on every floor. The only thing that can be done to combat the overpowering stench is to have your window open all night in the middle of a central london letting in noise, rain and cold. Other issues encountered in my stay included unclean bedding, no wifi and room key not working. Hotel is in a fantastic location with staff who are trying their best. If you want an pleasant, easy and comfortable stay. This is not the place.

Warm and friendly welcome! One member of staff on giving very helpful tourist advice and when his colleague saw we were waiting immediately invited us to the counter. We were checked in swiftly and in our from with in 15 minutes. The lobby had complimentary water and apples and the cafe/restaurant was open 24 hour. Hot chocolate tea and coffee in the rooms complimentary and the room was very clean! Bed super comfortable. We had a no windows room and which suited me as it was only to sleep and shower in. Speaking of showers. The bathroom and shower hide no secrets so make sure you’re staying with someone you are comfortable with! I’d happily stay here again and the location is perfect to get to most of London! Thank you

Absolutely dreadful experience. Small, tired rooms that smell of the previous occupants, poorly maintained fittings and worn mattresses. The only good thing about this hotel is its location, but the price is far above the quality of the accommodation - avoid!

The good: * Location is incredible - right in the middle of Soho, so loads of places you can simply walk to. And for that - the price is very fair. * The breakfast is pretty nice. There's bread you can toast, cereal, a few pastries and make-your-own yogurt. It's not free, though. * The corridors have a new car small. I don't know how they did that. * Room was spacious enough, nicely designed and very clean. * The bed was pretty firm, which I like. However, it was kind of dipping towards the middle? The bad: * The walls are very thin, so if someone is taking a shower in the next room, you will hear it as if it's in your room. * Can't change the AC fan speed * The shower + toilet are closed off with frosted glass. While you can't see into it from the outside, you have to be okay with hearing your travel partner poop. Perhaps even smell, as there's no external ventilation. * When we visited, the room Wifi was out of order. It was planned to be fixed within a day or two, so it probably won't affect you. * When we visited, the lift was also out of order. If you're reading this long into the future, then it's probably not an issue either.

Amazing location with theatres walking distance, rooms were small and I was unsure in the frosted glass ensuite. No real privacy when it came to the bathroom! The food facilities downstairs was good and cute little café.

Great location for the West End, Covent Garden etc. Held our bags for free prior to being able to check in which was a bonus. Surprisingly quiet in the evening. Would visit again and would recommend.

The rooms are way too hot in the summer and the air-conditioning dose absolutely nothing I couldn't sleep a wink, the tight rooms make you feel suffocated. Wouldn't stay here in the summer again. But the location was great and staff friendly.

It is very strategic for the central position and often offers affordable pricing if compared to other structures in Soho. Counterparts are the rooms which are definitely small . I would recommended for a short stay or for people who do not mind staying in a small room. The rooms however are extremely functional and clean.

Tiny room but smart, modern, clean and has everything u need. Fantastic location near theatres, pubs, Denmark St (if ur a guitar freak) & Chinatown & Soho. In spite of this, bedroom was awesomely quiet. Great breakfast too. Highly recommended for a budget stay in a brilliant location.

I’m not particularly fussy, I’ve slept in some pretty strange places before, so when I say this was underwhelming, I really mean it. Pretty sure my bed was just a mattress topper on a wooden box. I’d have checked, but the room was so cramped every time I stepped out of the bed I was immediately standing in the shower. As it’s London I’ll forgive the cramped conditions. However, continually throughout the night a close by washing machine would hit peak spin cycle and send bass frequencies throughout my weary chakra - this was less than ideal. There was Cum on the curtains?! 2 stars because the hairdryer was wicked good and the staff are nice.

This place is great value for money. The rooms are spotless and modern despite it being a budget hotel. Right in the middle of soho, everything on your doorstep. Will definitely stay here again

The management and staff were absolutely first rate, they couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, and in a brilliant space. Really comfy pillows, which is rare! We come to London regularly and will always stay here. Highly recommended 🌹👏🌟

Lovely hotel but be aware the rooms are very small. Also walls between room and bathroom is only frosted glass so when sharing you might see more than you bargained for. Staff are really good

A true sample of excellent and outstanding hospitality. I made a small request prior to the arrival with Omar at the reception, and not only he did it, but he also went the extra mile. His attentive and helpful behavior truly made a difference in the stay at the Z Hotel, which has beautiful rooms, friendly staff and a perfect location!

The staff members were really helpful and accommodating when my flight got cancelled and I had to book at last minute. The room was very comfortable, exactly how it looks in photos. Location excellent too.

In the heart of Soho, what else do i need to say? We were given a complimentary upgrade on arrival (yay, lucky us) into a 3 floor flat with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. This place was superb, well appointed, clean and close to everything. Walking distance to Westminster and the British Museum. Stumbling distance from the bars and restaurants of Soho.

Fantastic location if you are heading to see Harry Potter and the cursed child. You couldn't be any closer! Room was small but we had a good night's sleep. The front of house were very accommodating and let us check in very early which was great. All in all would highly recommend

I stayed here over new years and overall had a good experience. I saw some reviews that mentioned this is a luxury hotel, but I would say it’s more of a comfortable budget hotel. 3 stars for the rooms but 5 stars for the service! Location: almost unbeatable as you are in the heart of Soho so everywhere we went this hotel was in the middle of it all. Also very convenient walk to nearby tube stations Rooms: probably the smallest hotel rooms I’ve ever seen (and I thought NY hotel rooms were cramped). I stayed with my partner and there wasn’t even room to open both suitcases so we had to pack up all our stuff everyday which was a pain. The bathroom is only separated by a glass wall so not much privacy when using the toilet/shower. The steam will also make the room soooo humid even with AC on so be prepared for that. The room somehow seemed to get super dusty very quickly and the TV was constantly not working properly Service: Omar was truly exceptional!!! We noticed he was still a trainee but wow he was incredibly attentive, hospitable, and eager to help us! Most of the staff was also very helpful to resolve any issues, but Omar really made us feel welcome and looked after. It was also a lovely surprise to be offered free wine and cheese since we booked directly with the hotel!

No iron in room, rooms are so tiny there’s no room to move. Aircon/heat system smells. Not impressed for the money, only plus is that’s its in the middle of soho so loads to do. Won’t be staying here again.

The bed!!! horrible! it was like sleeping on the floor. Never slept in a worse bed at any hotel. But other than sacrificing my back the staff are great and excellent location. Small rooms but to be expected from a z hotel. Don’t think I will be going back to this z hotel.

This was a great hotel when it first opened many years ago, but sadly, standards have slipped so far that we had to request a refund after a recent one night stay. Our Queen room smelt of cheese, which the management tried to mask with chemicals. There was only one other room available, but this room smelt of sewerage - which the manager acknowledged. So reluctantly, we spent the night in the cheesy room, only to find that the shower was luke warm due to a broken tap fitting, and the mattress was so worn that it was flat and hard. This is not good enough at close to £200 per night. The location is great and the staff are friendly, but the company is clearly not reinvesting and keeping its standards up, and we will never stay at a Z Hotel again.

Can only describe the constant noise like a generator running above my room. It would have been better to sleep on a running washing machine. Rooms are for single person only with no space to move. Fine if you’re staying for a few hours.
