Would not recommend joining David Lloyd Kidbrooke. Since becoming a member my partner and I have had a very poor experience. The gym is not good value for money. - Over half the club area is taken up by a large cafe and bar. - At present none of the spa facilities are open (and there is no concession for this). - The gym facilities at the Kidbrooke branch are very limited - they have just one squat rack and chest press for the entire club. Local competitors have >3 of each and are >£100 less than DL. - The club does not feel like a community or ‘exclusive’ as David Lloyd advertises. -I have been trying to terminate my membership for over 2 weeks. DL no longer supports a phone line for current members. All emails and calls to reception regarding my membership have been ignored. I not they do have a phone line which gets answered in <20sec for new joiners though! How convenient.. Overall they aren’t a club whom I feel care about their members

This place has really deteriorated over the last year or so. The new management is awful and the average staff age is around 19. They are unable to handle the simplest of queries. They seem to have issues with overcrowding caused by dubious 'members' that you would not see more than once. The facilities are outdated, the place is dirty and the customers veer on the chavvy side. It is also jam packed with kids and unconsidered parents. There are kids running around in the lounge even at 9:30 pm sometimes. I have been a member for years here and am actively looking to leave. What a disappointment! At £1000 or so per year one would really expect better! It does not really matter how much feedback you leave! They simply do not care. I have witnessed several rows in the female changing rooms and this is simply due to the kind of people that have started to frequent this place in the last couple of months, the lack of proper joining instructions to their new members and very bad General Management.

Edited with photos... For the benefit of the non existent gym floor staff.... Not a gym for people who want to lift free weights The facilities and spa are amazing. Loads of cardio equipment and classes. But if you want to lift weights definitely look elsewhere. It's busy here. Ridiculously busy. I've never had a visit where I didn't have to wait for free weight equipment, at all times of the day. Only 2 squat racks and 1 bench. And the worst gym etiquette of any gym I've been to. Weights everywhere, nobody here strips a bar down. And no staff clear them away (not that they should have to). Also, in response to David Lloyds comment that I could train at less busy times: 1. I pay £244 a month. I should be able to train when I want 2. I only train during the day. Never early in the morning, never in the evening. So only at off peak times and it's still packed! Pleased I only have a 3 month membership. This is a gym for people who have a lot a time on their hands amd that don't mind training in other people's mess.

Bad management, bad customer service, limited facilities, it’s just not worth it. I pay 150£ per month for what ? Gym, & swimming pool that was closed for months, no sauna, or steam room, no spa, .. toilets been closed for a month. I tried to book for baby swimming classes for months now with no luck, very few aerobic & strength exercise classes that are always fully booked, & if you book in advance to secure a place & happen to cancel 3 times, they block you for 10 days, classes are over crowded that you’d touch the person next to you during yoga poses ? !!!, they change/cancel classes suddenly which makes it impossible to stick to an exercise regimen. Employees complain about the management, employees try to convince you to book classes with them so that the management don’t cancel their classes & so they get paid, so much of drama in this club, receptionists never helped with a thing, they always don’t know or refer you to the App using which you don’t get help anyways & no one answers your emails. Basic facilitates/ &ambience all around the club.. below basic when I remember the closed toilets, & Yoga studio which is most of the time full of dust & the mats & tools aren’t always clean.

Okay, here’s my story: Was knocked of the pushbike on the way to work by van. Was taken unconscious to Kings College Hospital by emergency services with dislocated shoulder. Asked Kidbrooke David Lloyd to stop my membership (payed annually upfront always for whole year) that finished on 1st March 2018 anyway. 1. David Lloyd operative (Jordan Phillips) stated over the phone that police record will be enough as evidence for them to cancel membership. Was immediately provided via email on 2nd March 2018 15:45. 2. Another David Lloyd operative Fay Smith stated that she need any evidence from doctors (appointment letter, etcetera). Was immediately provided via email on 6th March 2018 09:11. 3. Same person (Fay Smith) stated on email that post trauma letter from Kinds College Hospital is not enough and need medical history records. Was immediately provided via email on 8th March 2018 20:10 (was lucky as my solicitors have it and I wasn’t need to pay £25 to hospital for med records request). 4. Today 19th March 2018 09:21 received another email from different Kidbrooke David Lloyd operative (Jordan Phillips) that my detailed medical history of accident that lead me to ended up in A&E Kings College Hospital with dislocated shoulder is not enough and they need a letter from doctor that stating my not ability to use a gym. Will provide as requested ASAP on Monday 26/03/2018 as have a visit to doctor same day. I can’t describe my feelings on how Kidbrooke David Lloyd personnel is not profesional and absolutely arrogant. Please note that I’ll update this feedback in due course, will forward to head office and spread this information along other independent review websites.

I have been trying to cancel my membership due to financial hardship. The club has no understanding to a single mother that is just trying to cancel a membership due to the rise in cost of living. The worst customer care I have ever come across. Even though I have been very open about it. They even charged a card that wasn’t saved on their system. Absolutely appalling. They took £290 out of my account without my consent money that was supposed to be for bills, and won’t refund me the funds. I will add that this approach of holding customers hostage isn't acceptable and should be looked into. don't join this horrendous health club.

Awful & over subscribed ! Then they do free trials making it even worse for existing loyal members. I overheard staff saying, one of the smallest clubs but one the highest subscribed. Geared to kids. Nothing like the TV advert at all. Nothing serene or relaxing at all. I’m not anti kids or family but my experience is always compromised by children. I’m sat in the lounge now at 9pm and multiple children screaming and no one says anything. The pool timetable is terrible, adult swimming really late which is very unhelpful after a day at work. The gym is good and PT’s are decent too. But it’s so busy I can’t ever get on what I want to use. Rob & spin classes best thing about the club by a country mile. The staff elsewhere consistently unhelpful. I’ve never in 5 years come away thinking oh that was helpful or good service. If you’re ever challenging they become mardy. I wish there was an alternative that’s better than pure gym. No doubt I’ll get the standard response as all the other reviews have.

Cost of the gym increases yearly and the jacuzzi is often out of action. I’ve never had a good experience with Charles Jude - general manager, was extremely rude to me once when sitting down in the chill out areas. Has never said hello or smiled when I’ve seen him. I also had a bad experience where I had my locker cut off one evening. I had been coming to kidbrook for 6 months and would go to the gym morning and afternoon mon- Fri before and after work.I would empty my locker Friday evening. My suit and 2 shirts had been chucked in a bin bag. I hadn’t had any prior notice about this and would always see other members leaving stuff over night. After the black bag with my suit and shirts was returned - which I had to wear to work that day (all needing dry cleaning) I was THEN told I had to pay an additional £100 to keep my stuff in the locker overnight. This was ordered by the manager apparently to be cut off, every Tuesday despite me leaving my stuff in there every Tuesday for the last 6 months. I do appreciate why they would not want customers doing it, BUT don’t chuck my suit in a bin bag. Asked asked cancelling, chucked in the usual 3 months cancellation malarky. Could be a great gym.... but communication from manager lets them down. I would not recommend to anyone moving forward. Was felt much more appreciated at Dartford and Kingshill David Lloyd’s.

It’s ok not nowhere near good enough for the near £200 per month membership. Spa would be lovely if stuff frequently worked but that’s never the case. Gym is decent….could maybe use some new kit but has just about enough providing you come in quiet times. Real mix of staff. The gym staff are always friendly. Spa staff always miserable. Pointless trying to get anything from cafe as takes far too long. They all seem too busy doing nothing than to serve people. If you can go elsewhere I would but I’m sure there are worse gyms (although probably not for the money). Get used to similar photo as shown

Been at this gym for roughly 7 months. The facilities are decent. Decent free weights, machines and cardio set ups. Certainly a good range. My fellow members however, a real entitled bunch. Literally no one returns their weights. Place is left disorderly all the time. Also the changing room floors are so often covered in people’s dirty towels it wouldn’t be a stretch to think the floor was carpeted instead of tiled for they are hidden so continuously by the yard towels of lazy members who can’t put a towel in the ample laundry bins provided. Perhaps not the fault of the gym but I never once saw a staff member tell someone to return their weights. I imagine this would have provoked outrage in the high paying customer who behaved as if they owned the gym personally and the staff were their doting maids. In that regard I feel sorry for the staff members who probably found it irritating themselves. The staff were all pleasant in my interactions, which were admittedly minimal. The price i was paying was £130 for premium membership. They have just hiked the price £10 per month. For this reason I instantly cancelled my membership. It is not worth £140 per month. One could argue It is a stretch to say it’s worth £130. The price was increased not even at the end of my 1 year membership which I found uncouth. The online team handled my cancellation quickly though, so that’s good. If you’re going for just the gym, (weights etc) perhaps there are other specific gyms that are better equipped and cheaper. If you’re going for the all round leisure centre thing, gym, tennis, classes, swimming etc then Perhaps it’s better value. But I am not so sure. If you want to book tennis, they don’t always provide rackets, (£140 per month Can’t cover some rackets for guests who only play occasionally?) The place was clean, no complaints there.

Let’s talk about this wanna be posh gym in “the heart of Kidbrooke center ”. Where should I start… classes are descent, facilites are a hit or miss, sometimes ok, some other time no more heating, broken machines, reception staff borderline rude, food in general is a big NO NO… I am still giving a star for the lovely lady at the reception who does lashes and nails as well as the amazing girls from the nursery. Other people there ? Most members think they’re somewhat special because they are spending more than the average london gym and are absolutely despicable. High school girls mentality. Lets get to the worst part. The aftercare service. The team will be absolutely amazing and nice when it comes to make you sign their membership contract (somewhere above £110 per person and I am paying for my partner and I). If you have any query after that please don’t even think about having some assistance from them, nobody will pick up the reception phone and 90% of queries you have you’ll be sent to their app. TYPICAL cheap gym mentality, guys if you charge that much it’s all in the details and on the customer service, which in your case is extremely is below zero. Now I had the magnificent surprise to get my membership bumped to an extra £10 per person after only couple months, for no particular reason, I did ask them for a cancellation (this took me multiple attempts as you can imagine as they are unreachable). If you read previous reviews you’ll see many members got their memberships canceled but mine…? They simply refused to do so ! 😅😅 Can you imagine how unfair and infuriating this is…? I’m basically Trapped in a contract I don’t want to be part of where they can do whatever they want. That’s their mentality. Honestly sickening to see companies like this succeeding. That’s all for me thanks for reading 😄😂😂

No Jacuzzi - Sauna or Steam Room - However this does not account, in my rating. Jane on the Front Desk was miserable, I understand we all have bad days but still. Also Kids Swimming Lessons are still being put on despite no Adult facilities besides the Gym, which I think is Appalling. The Good Side of this gym is its pool refurbishment however it feels falsely advertised by a billboard right off the main A road bolstering it’s refurbishment despite the only real difference being the Spa-less Pool. Cafe staff were amazing in guiding me to changing rooms and honestly did a better job than ‘Jane’. Will return to this Gym when it is fully finished.

I must have been to probably 20 different David Lloyd gyms as a result of me working around the country, and this is definitely the worst one I've been to. Uneven floors in weights area which is worst possible place for someone to trip and accident to occur. Some attempt at repair has been done using tape?!?. Also general behaviour of some members leaves a lot to be desired. Weights are often left lying around rather than being put back on racks, some gyms are worse than others for this, but this one is easily the worst offender. Get suspending memberships if people cannot follow simple rules. Also the gym is very cramped. Too many machines in too small a space so when it's busy, everyone is one top of one another. Locker rooms with rubbish on the floor, towels left everywhere. If you allow members to treat the place like a sty without repercussions it will only get worse. Another review on here said they pay £120 p/m for their membership, well I pay almost £50 less than that for my local David Lloyd and beats this one hands down.

I’m a diamond member and I signed up mainly for personal training and the much awaited but very delayed spa facility. When you charged members £200, you better provide excellent customer service but that is not the case here. Firstly calls at reception are never answered (after 6 tries at different times). Secondly, after changing my class time as there was availability for an earlier class, I’ve been blocked in booking future classes! I sent my concern via the app but they said everything looks okay but I still can’t book classes! Since no one is answering calls I don’t know where else to get help! Considering I pay over £400 a month between my membership and PT, I’d expect top and quality service, which I’m not getting!

Been a platinium member together with families for nearly two years. This place is getting worse. Watch out before your put your signature's on. OR I am sure this club will catch you in misleading sale. 1 big issue is hygiene. the gent changing room is lack of attention of cleaners for most of the time. benches are wet. floor are dirty. Staff turnover is very high including cleaners. the areas connecting to the indoor pool has disgusting smell. The water in the kids swimming pool looks dirty most of the time. Facilities: the Jacuzzi has been out of the order too often and for too long. The cleaning team now cleases the Sauna room and Wet room during the day hours which cannot be used by clients. Making false policy: I signed up Platinium Membership which clearly states unlimited and unrestricted access to all the services, including using fresh towel. And the club suddenly change to One Towel policy and they claim only one towel entitled which isn't true. I challenge them at the reception several times but they cannot give a rationale explatation, rather than saying this is a confirmation of one towel a time. when chellenged them with my membership schedule, Initially they claimed it is in the T&Cs but I checked the small prints which has no such clause. They never bothered to check their own terms even. This is not about 1 towel or 2 towels at a time. It is about business honesty. as a customer, I am entitled to what I paid for. Car Park: To my biggest suprise, I received a Parking Charge Notice today for staying there for 4hours and 53 mins. They asking for 60 pounds for parking if paid in 28 days or becomes 100. Crazy!!! It is stated on their website - FREE PARKING for Club Members. I got no idea how this happened. I know I had a sunbath the other day, then catch up with friends in the club. come on this isn't a super market and one of your selling point is this is a health club the members do socialize. All these are down to very poor management: it has been rediculous sometimes. the tennis head coach only informed me hours earlier before my daughter's tennis session which it has been cancelled permanently due to lack of staff. To send my daughter to the tennis session, I have to leave work early that day as my wife had things to do with my little one on the day. my time was wasted. and after nearly 2 mths, they still cannot figure out the refund.

I am being harsh because this gym is EXPENSIVE. The spa is great and in my opinion worth the money but the rest of the gym is always crowded and full of screaming children. Classes are great when you manage to get a place but there aren’t enough classes and during the week the morning classes are at 8AM so impossible to join if you need to get to work after but they have loads of kids classes, the balance feels off. I know it’s a family club and totally fine with children having swimming, tennis etc but they can do a better job of designing the restaurant and changing rooms so there are calm adult only spaces and family friendly areas. Usually the first thing you see when walking in is just messy tables and children running around. We never bother staying for a coffee because it’s like a school canteen.

Unfortunately I have to give one star after being a member few time over the years in this club. Because of the health reasons I have to cancel the contract and they not interested to do so without doctors report that I can not use a gym (but it is ongoing investigation and I am the one living with the pain). From my experience they are not interested in your health, just to make as mush money as possible.

Interested in membership I spent a long time trying to get through to someone, web chat was not available and none of the phone lines seem to be either working or staffed. Eventually called club reception and was told the only package they offer is the top 'diamond' tier, and only on a 12 month contract for £180 per month (might be useful for others to know as they make this info difficult to find). Yeah, cheers, I'll be looking elsewhere.

Food is terribly disappointing and over priced. Everything in the salad I had was obviously pre-coooked and had sat around all day, I don't particularly mind this if the price is appropriate for this type of quality. Observed some disturbing occurrences of casual racism also. Checking a black guys card after he scanned through seemed strange... Crying Asian child in the creche had an Asian person brought from the gym who wasn't their parent, this was quite funny but really shouldn't be happening these days. I don't even go to the gym I just pick my kids up so can't really comment on the facilities...

I have been a member at this gym for 5 years + and as the cost of the membership increases year by year, the quality of the facilities and machines gets worse. Since the relatively recent "refurb" a large number of the cardio machines were removed, meaning it is often difficult to get to use the machine you want. To make it worse, around 30-40% of the cardio machines are often out of order at one time. They either go ignored by the club (e.g Stairmaster where the screen has been ripped off and now the buttons don't work has just been left without being fixed or replaced - where another one has faulty buttons leaving only 1 working efficiently, 2 out of only 5 rowing machines are faulty or broken, several other machines have an 'out of order' sign on, which from experience are usually on there for 2-3 weeks before someone comes to fix them.) The machines in the weights sections are either taped up or fixed with plastic tags rather than replaced when they break. The toilets in the ladies often have issues flushing and the sinks are always blocked. There has been a locker with some abandoned swimming kit in for 4 weeks now (I use this gym every day and check this particular locker) so the cleaning team are often missing things like this. There is often a shortage of tissue/machine cleaner which is an issue seeing as 90% of the members who use this gym won't clean the machines after use. The food in the cafe is probably the only part which is okay. The prices are reasonable and the service is quick. I am actively looking for other gyms to join as for the most expensive gym in the area, this is definitely the worst quality. It would be great if David Lloyd could use some of the huge membership fee to provide working machines to this gym.

The overhead panels in men’s showers are mouldy and the ventilation pipes are covered with dirt. There is rarely any shower gel in dispenser. I keep complaining but after standard email reply things don’t improve. The club has no competition in the area. They are renovating their reception and about to extend but I think they are not able to keep the showers in good order. The water in the outdoor pool noticeably colder- I bet they save the cost at the members expense. It is oversubscribed so I don’t think they need too.

Joined a couple of weeks ago and so far the experience has been far from platinum. Timetable isn't accurate so twice I've turned up with my daughter to find it's an unadvertised adult only session. Then the kids activity class advertised for that day wasn't on. Soft play is filled with teenagers with no parents in sight. I've emailed a couple of times with other queries and no one replies. Looking at these reviews a lot of the responses look to be automated or certainly copy and paste. Unfortunately it's very popular so they get away with a poor service for a premium price.

I had orginal given 1 star, due to the gross overselling of the club, while it was being refurbished, which resulted that we had to use another club for 6 months 40-50 min from our house. However although the spa is still not done, I find most fair to rate the club on its own, hoping that David Lloyd will teach there sales managers to be more truthfully moving forward. The club itself is lovely. A nice spacious gym (although could threadmills be moved a bit apart) a nice pool, changingrooms are lovely and similar to a upscale resorts. Clubrooms is very nice, and the staff is very quick, still have to get use to a coffee comes after 5 min vs the 30-45 min in chigwell. The reception personal always seem a bit unattive, but besides Maidstone, I find that to me an overall challenge at David Lloyd. But what really makes the club the nice is the classes and the wonderful studios. Since Kidbrooke introduced more classes, I have been able to test a myriad classses and have thoroughly enjoyed Dance Fitness, Ignite and spirit, the latter might be the reason I give 4 and not 3 star. The energy is good, the trainers involved and good. Kidbrooke have everything to become a 5 star, and I will edit my review when the promised spa which is the reason we signed up in the first place is ready.

This is the worst service ever. And fake contacts. We went last year for a chat to be a member and they told me and my wife you can use the gym anywhere in the Uk. Which is absolutely okay. We went to beckenham as it is 5mins from where we live. And the staff are very rude. We went to use the spa they told us you can not use that. As this is only for members. And I told them I’m a member to. And they said no no we just changed the rules you are not longer to use spa anymore you have to pay more? This is absolutely disgusting. I will never recommend it to anyone.

Stay away! I have unfortunately signed up and I am suffering. I have breathing difficulty and muscular atrophy - I cannot use a gym without a steam room. But the worst part is - as my condition slowly deteriorates, they don't respond to my emails and contact request forms. Absolute radio silence. They are causing mental distress on top of my problems. They are supposed to be good for health. Simply disgraceful. Happy to share emails should anyone want evidence of this EDIT: Now they troll by responding to my review asking me to email the very address that doesn’t respond. I have sent my 7th email with subject “Earth to David Lloyds”

Not let in to SPA, apparently the club moved up a tier in January. No comms, nothing. Another couple, same as us, got turned away at the SPA gate. The Duty Manager asked us to take it up with management and go to another club. Very poor customer care, the duty manager could have apologised for the confusion and let us in this once for the trouble. But no… Same as for the other couple, this club is on our list of clubs. Your tier is a shady system that is beyond customer understanding and even receptions could not answer which club is which tier. Very poor experience.

Do not bother signing up here! Prices have now gone up to £200 a month, if you are going to spend this monthly money join third space. The customer service is awful, no one can answer questions at the desk and no one responds to your emails. The gym has minimal equipment which is always busy, air ventilation that doesn’t work properly, air con never works. communal area always has kids running around. The spa area is nice but parts are always out of service and you have to pay extra to bring in a guest, this is crazy given you pay £200pm. Due to the lack of response to my emails I have had to LinkedIn message the general manager.

Customer service is possibly the worst I've encountered. Requested they change my payment dates on three separate occasions. This was clearly not done, as I now have a bill for over £400. Anytime I have tried to contact them it takes me multiple calls and transfers, and when you actually go in to the reception its always "up to the manager" who is "not currently present". Thoroughly disappointed with the service as this place came recommended.

Unfortunately these guys are asking you to become a member just to use the spa which is unfortunate. You should think about doing day passes as you’ll get more custom I only wanted to spend my birthday at the spa for a day but couldn’t do this as I need to become a member but I refuse to as I will only be going there once as I’m not into gym stuff. It’s a shame as the spa looks beautiful

I know the gym it's self is expensive, but I really get the value out of. There are plenty of classes available. The best class for me is blaze! The instructors really motivate you and put you through your paces but it's fun at the same time

I have just joined David Lloyd and I would like to say how great all the classes have been so far and how wonderful all the trainers are. The staff at reception are always so smiley and bubbly which makes the place feel so much more homely. Brad gave me a tour and immediately made me feel very comfortable like I was a member for years, he was very thorough, explained all the little details and answered all my questions. I signed up straight after the amazing tour he had given me and would like to thank him for his time. I will definitely be recommending David Lloyd in Kidbrooke to all my friends and family!

This gym has been going straight downhill. Personal trainers quitting left and right, showers are getting rusty because they’re unmaintained - there is no soap in the boxes anymore

By far the best Gym in the area, before becoming members me and my partner visited a lot of local gyms and national ones too, they all had some con's and not enough pro's to swing the vote in their favour, especially after seeing this one, the facilities are modern and well kept, the place is nicely decorated and also well kept, the business hub is perfect for working and a quite space away from the younger members who go their with their parents (which means its family friendly too). Indoor and outdoor swimming pools are great, the gym and studios are fully loaded and well equipped for when they are busy. The food is brilliant, the prices are fairly reasonable and the overall experience when eating is quite nice too, there is also seating outside for in warmer times in the year and its quite nice to sit out there and eat/drink in the summer. The staff are also very friendly and professional.

Not sure why so many bad reviews on here. I joined only briefly while I was there for work, and while it is on the expensive side, I felt the facilities and lovely ambiance (I'd even bring my laptop some days and work in the adult office room) was lovely and worth it. The staff was always kind and helpful (except one woman I generally tried to avoid as she seemed to hate her job!) overall I had a great experience and if I lived there would definitely choose here as my home gym

Love David Lloyd, and especially the Kidbrooke club. Lovely facilities with great indoor and outdoor pool. Restaurant staff and personal trainers in the gym are very friendly. The general manager Charles Jude is friendly and approachable and caring. Physios are brilliant. I enjoy the swimming, jacuzzi, steam, sauna, yoga and gym, and great to relax in the lounge/restaurant area and also to be able to work on my laptop in the quiet area where there are desks set up for members to be able to work. I’ve been a member for over 2 years - well worth the money and I highly recommend it

The location is lovely. However, when we got in we have been taken care of by a lady at the reception totally oblivious of the promotion ongoing for us. She wanted to charge us £50 whereas we were supposed to pay £37.5 - another member had to tell her about this special deal. Then, we asked about membership and she had literally NO idea about them ?? My wife and I do not recall her name but this happened today (Saturday 23rd Feb at 6pm). The staff at the bar was awesome, the Jacuzzi is nice and the swimming pool in good condition.

One of the best gyms I’ve ever had the privilege of using! State of the art equipment in the gym & the most beautiful and relaxing spa I’ve ever been to!! The children’s timetable is fantastic, my daughter has made so many friends; as have I with the fantastic community there. Best decision I ever made - 10/10!

Cheryl has been my daughters swimming teacher since she was 18 months (she is now 4) and we are so impressed with the classes. Our daughters water confidence is incredible and her skills are developing really well. The classes are really fun, especially when Cheryl dresses up for Halloween Xmas and Easter! Can't recommend her more highly.

For over £200 a month - I would expect more than one flat bench press! The gym is very busy, yet is sparsely packed with equipment…not good. The gym is not terrible, but for over £200? Go elsewhere.

Joined last week and the club is absolutely amazing! Neda looked after me, showed me around and went over how the club will have so many benefits for myself and my family. The spa retreat has just been built and it has so many benefits which is really going to help my mental health. My kids also have so much fun there with their fantastic DL kids programme.

Just Joined two months ago, Having a good time, semi retired so i make use of the quiet mornings and late evenings. I don't take any blip serious, the staff work very long hours to make us comfortable. I understand the concerns about customers, As a business person the overall overheads can be expensive so DL has to be liberal to allow a bit more members in. At least its not closed down like some high street shops. Come on Be British and support your own! Elaine Hope

I have been a member for many years, and can say that the place is always freezing cold, regardless of where you are in the entire place. Instructors put the air con on during an yoga class! Very uncomfortable. Also some of the instructors are not very experienced, I think they don’t pay people enough. The timetable is inconsistent, and the classes are varied but not helpful for those who work full time as a lot of the best classes are around 9-11:30am with the good classes also getting fully booked, it’s like booking tickets to Glastonbury as someone mentioned here. Reception has improved over the years with more staff available. Please note there are screaming children everywhere. Literally. But what annoys me the most is how cold the place is, I don’t even use the gym anymore as it’s too cold, takes ages to warm up - they need to be reminded that sweating is part of exercising! And an important part. Such a waste of energy as well, why have the air con on when it’s already cold? I agree with many here that the place needs a refurb - and they have decided to do this - right in the middle of the summer! So members like myself who are now off and could enjoy the nice weather by the pool, forget it. They closed it down for the summer (right when people actually WANT to use the area). I’m sure they will put prices up too. I am now considering other options as I don’t think it offers value for money, the cold is bad enough but closing the outside pool during the summer is just a slap on the face. EDIT: I can see that DL has replied to my review. However, no mention is made about their lack of action on the overall temperature of the place. It’s cold. I went there today, the studio was cold when I arrived and even though I asked the instructor to switch the air con off, it was turned back on during the class. By the end of it, it was cold, my hands and feed were cold 🥶. Why put the air con for a yoga class? Makes no sense. Save up on your energy bill and spare us the artic experience.

Good choice of classes and well equipped gym. Cafe has wide choice and good food. My only criticism would be of a substitute teacher for a class. She didn’t seem to know much about Barre and described it as lots of squats which is then what we did. That’s not a quality barre class.

I have changed my review on the below comment because new management was extremely helpful and forthcoming with my situation and helped me to resolve it quickly. (Extremely disappointed with the level of customer service from reception and management, who has been unhelpful and ignoring my emails regarding a recent parking charge that is absolutely ridiculous. Got a charge on a Saturday for staying at the club for 4h 30min. Being a platinum member of the club and bringing money into the business you can’t be charging for parking. Later finding out that this is the new parking rule.)

I just want to Thank Antonio for helping me with my sons membership. He deserves 10 stars ! I don’t use the facilities as I only go to take my son (he has a TBI so I need to look after him as he suffers short term memory loss and will get lost) My son loves this gym and the food here. I was going to leave as there was a misunderstanding on how I was told about the freeze on accounts. Long story short. Antonio was very professional and got to the bottom of our case. He went to the manager and he helped us as our case is complex. Thank you again Antonio.

Crowded, Oversubscribed with Sky High Prices Signed up in October of 2023 and have just been told that my membership will be increasing by 11% in January 2024 to over £350/month for a couple. Classes need to be booked 10 days in advance or they are completely full and inaccessible. The gym floor is always rammed with people and the changing rooms are crowded. Impossible to speak to anyone that can give you real information. This is a horrible "luxury" experience - they should be ashamed of themselves.

  • 4/5 Ralph S. 4 months ago on Google
The new heavier punch/kick bag is so much better. I find some of the staff really friendly. It has a nice gym and spa. - a star for over crowding at times for the price pf a diamond membership... waiting for machines, a matt and some space in the spa. The food is nice and priced well. Kidbrooke is a bit smaller than other David lloyds to cope with extra people. It's great for families kids and if you have a baby and want to spend some time together.

I had a club tour with Sophie Rosembloom. So cheerful and welcoming, definitely showed be the good vibes of the staff. I love the facilities (pool, spa, tennis courts, bar/restaurant, gym). Also...I've always been in love with the Blaze signature class! Lovely place to take the family. Thanks, Sophie! :)
