My family and I wanted to see the sights of London and was greatly disappointed by the service from Tootbus. We were enjoying the tour and decided to hop off for lunch but when we tried walking to about 3 -4 of the bus stops we never saw another Tootbus again. (We waited and walked for almost 2 hours). We saw several Big bus operators collecting and dropping off happy customers. I will not use this service again, the experience I had was not great value for money or my time. Better to walk or use Big bus service. Very disappointed Customer

Last day, we purchased two tickets for 2 hours London bus tour in tootbus. We came to London very recently and we are new to this place. I must say the customer service was too bad. . The headset provided was of poor quality, so the audio was not clear. After 2 hours of the journey, we asked the driver, where we need to put back the headsets and which is the next stop. The driver was a lady and her behaviour was very rude. It’s really felt like an insult in front of other co-passengers. Had a worst experience there and also don’t think that it worth the price of tickets. I won’t recommend this for anyone. When I asked her name, she arrogantly refused to say it, so I’m posting a picture of the lady who spoiled our journey thrills. Thank you

Worst hop on hop off we've been on. The audio wasn't in sink properly and didn't really give great info when we went past things. Then didn't tell you what there was to see at each stop... then half way thru we had to get off and walk to another bus. Big waste money wouldn't recommend at all. We went on big bus in paris and was way better in every way. Every other hop on hopoff I n london came every 10 min this one was almost evey 30 min. Hopless

I booked this hoping that it would be a great way to get around and see the sights but unfortunately this was not the case. I booked it for 2 days. First day we only got to use it about 3 times. It ended up by taking over an hour and half to get from stop 13 to 31 on the blue line (should only be roughly be a 10 min drive straight there). This meant we were extremely late to prior arrangements and I heard other people on the bus saying they had missed things they had tickets for. The next day we only got to use it once as every time we tried to catch the buses we thought one was coming on the app and then they would go down the route the wrong way, go rogue off the route or say there was one there but when we got there it “off service” or bus won’t be displayed and so you see them driving off as your approaching. They say the buses will come every 15-20mins depending on the yellow or blue line but every time we waited at least 30-40mins and most of the time gave up waiting and walked instead because according to the app it was going to be a long time before another approached. I wouldn’t waste your money this bus company and instead would book with another company as many of them went past VERY frequently and went more places then the toot bus. Pretty disappointed as this was quite expensive for us (conversion from pound to AUD meant it cost us over $100) and it wasted so much of our time that i felt it ruined our London experience. Even getting the metro and walking places would have been quicker and cheaper. If it wasn’t so slow and actually came every 15–20 mins this would have been a great way to see the city. Audio also pretty lacking and did not match up with the route.

Absolutely terrible! Waited 45 minutes for a bus after being told they were every 15 minutes. Got passed by loads of other bus tours (so it’s not the roads!). Rude staff. Completely full bus, so we couldn’t even sit upstairs, which was the whole point of doing this. £88 down the drain. So annoyed. Just to sit in a dirty bus downstairs. Smelling of fumes. With filthy headsets handed to us. The tour via headphones is sketchy at best and didn’t match up to what we were looking at. Absolutely disgraceful!

Complete tourist trap! It is not a hop on hop off if you don't want to stand around for hours on end waiting for the next buss, all the while three competitors busses and the lokal busses roll by! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR HOLLIDAY WAITING FOR THE BUSS!

Had a 48hr London ticket with one way boat trip included. The app is really useful to see the next bus and we hopped on and off over the 2 days. There are 2 routes, the commentary was useful and we saw all the sights. Best value for money I found at the time.

Stay away and go with one of the competitors!! We made the mistake of choosing this operator over one of the competitors. Why was it a mistake? 1) After we were charged and paid the full price they told us that currently only one of their mains lines is operating due to the corona situation. While this is understandable it is simply unprofessional to demand the regular price and mislead customers. If they reduce service they should adjust price. 2) the quality of the audio guides is very poor. Despite the fact that the speakers are extremely poor quality, also the audio content is quite bad, Mis-timed and not very informative. 3) competition is simply better - other competitors behave more professional and have additional services, such as an app to track routes and buses, for a comparable price. Very disappointed.

Lots of positives, but a couple of negatives too!! Myself and my wife booked online and saved 15% so far so good. Essentially this is a bus ride with Yellow, blue & green routes,we took the Yellow, then the Royal Blue routes. You see so much of London, the top deck was amazing with the best views around. We loved the journeys, you can plug in your headphones, which the driver offers you,and listen to the information. Sadly this is mostly music, but very little information which was a missed opportunity to really absorb London and all it's history. Also it referred to 'Her Majesty' a couple of times despite her having died a while ago. The other negative is we decided to do the Royal Blue line around 3 o'clock, deciding to finish at Trafalgar Square, where we were staying. But at 4 o'clock the driver informed us the tour was finished,at Victoria Station, where we were told to leave the bus and had to walk the rest. Special mention the the Yellow route driver, who seemed happy & enthusiastic. All in all a good way to see London.

This bus was very conveniently located just outside of our hotel. The price wasn't terrible when compared to the other bus companies. In general we found the Toot Buses were less busy so it was generally easier to find a spot when you hopped on / off. I don't know if all the bus drivers are as aggressive as ours were that day. Perhaps it's just the way they have to drive in central London, but there were a few times when I was a bit worried about how they were driving. That's the only reason I gave them a 4 instead of 5. For what they offer they did it well and at a reasonable price. We even had an issue with a missing driver for one bus and they went out of their way to move us to a different bus and then held another for our arrival so we could get where we wanted. Overall were I in London and doing a hop on hop off bus again, I could see myself choosing them again.

After having tried the first Tootbus at Paris I opted for it again at London. It was a thorough classic journey having passed through all the landmarks of London. The live commentary in the bus made it even more interesting when we got to know the details about each and every thing based on historical background. Highly recommended to enjoy the tour on Tootbus which is less crowded as compared to others and the buses are electric which avoids pollution in the atmosphere.

(Translated by Google) NOT RECOMMENDED!!! I have not seen such an unprofessional company anywhere. Early start tours are not timed. There is something else on the internet than in the brochure. Would have to wait unnecessarily. Meanwhile, at least 20 buses from the company BigBus drove past us. And that with all 15 a bus was unfortunately not the case at every stop. The guides are not helpful at all, as long as you do not buy a ticket from them. (Original) NICHT EMPFEHLENSWERT!!!

At first our experience was good, with an informative and open air ride on the top deck. But on our second ride the driver stopped for 35 minutes to chat with a friend. We thought it was just traffic or a driver switch, but when we asked what is taking so long, he started driving again. On our second day we began our journey at the Yellow stop #16 on Park Lane just south of the marble arch. We arrived at this stop at 9:15am and waited 45 minutes for a Tootbus, when the app said 36 minutes. But that Tootbus was the Yellow line when we wanted the Blue line. At this point the app reset the Blue line bus to 43 minutes! 9 minutes later a Blue line Tootbus came along, culminating in a 54 minute wait on a Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, we watched at least a dozed London Big Buses and four Golden Hop on Hop off buses make stops in front of us. Can’t say we would recommend Tootbus to anyone.

Great value for money and definitely the best way to get around as a tourist. The times were a bit hit and miss, and the live tracker on the buses wasn't always correct. As long as you're not in a rush then it's great. There were free headphones available on all buses for the pre-recorded commentary and the occasional live commentary which was a treat.

This is a great way for a tourist to get a sense of London. Take a hour and ride a loop, then go back and visit the areas you want to explore deeper. Then repeat with another loop. Don't forget to take advantage of the included Thames River Cruise all the way down to Greenwich and back - a phenomenal way to see a part of London that you wouldn't otherwise see. But the way your ticket is good for 24 hours from the time you start using it.

I would give zero stars if I could. You only get any commentary if you plug super cheap headphones into the provided jacks. The commentary isn't even good and it is prerecorded so most of the time they are talking about sites that you aren't even looking at. They cram the buses full of people so you are lucky to even get one of these audio jacks. Oh and on Christmas Day they left an entire bus full of people stranded...the bus driver got off for a quick break and never came back. The entire bus had to move to a different bus and none of the employees seemed to care

A great way to get around and see London in a day. Multiple tours that visit different key tourist locations across the City of London. Probably the best way to get your bearings. Tour guides and drivers were all courteous.

The tour bus service is good but needs improvement like live guide in all buses, a representative at all stops and increase frequency. I was new at the place, but when I looked the way other tour service providers work I got to know they offered more features like they had their staff at every stations and had more frequencies in all routes as well.

Words are inadequate to describe how woefully bad this was. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BUS COMPANY. These guys have so few buses they’re too full, too infrequent, stop too often for way too long and when they do eventually move they drive at a snails pace WITH NO TOUR GUIDE COMMENTARY!!! You’d have a way better experience even just using normal London buses at only £4.50 a full day.

BEWARE! NO MULTILINGUAL COMMENTARY! In spite of what the website says there were no multilingual commentary on their buses. Since majority of our group doesn't speak English we invested in good headphones in preparation for two hours long tour. It was only on the bus when we realised the audio was off. Our driver suggested we get off at the next stop and wait for a next bus. We agreed as we really wanted to make most of our only day in London. Next bus came, we asked the driver, he said "not on my bus, but the next one is definitely multilingual". Imagine our frustration when we discovered that the next bus had its audio off too! At this point we decided to stay on the bus until we see a stop with a member of staff on it. We found one at the Tower of London and he told us that audio is off on all buses all day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Why wasn't this info on their website? But more importantly, why did they do it? What is a point of this strange decision? Anyway, we were very disappointed by both the unfair marketing and the incompetent drivers because of whom we lost more than an hour of our precious time in London waiting for the "right bus". UPD: it gets even stranger. The "owner of the business" replied to my review implying that the problem was on some buses and some stops. We tried three consecutive buses and the audio was off on ALL buses and ALL stops. Moreover a staff member whom we found at The Tower of London stop at about 2pm on Friday 11th of September, told us that the audio is off on all buses every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So either an "owner" is less informed about their company than the average member of staff or the company is even more shambolic than I thought.

We went on the bar bus tour this weekend with tour guides Shane and Peter. We had a fantastic time, social distancing was followed and we felt safe at all times. The sights we saw were wonderful, the music was great and Shane and Peter were both extremely knowledgeable. Thank you both, we're looking forward to coming back for the Christmas lights!

Disappointed with our booking with the Tootbus. Wait times were long and unpredictable. We ended up catching the regular bus for nearly every trip during our time in London. You are better off doing a walking tour of the city, the information we received from those were much better than the commentary on the bus. I gave it two stars because the boat ride was worth it, in hindsight we would have booked the river cruise individually and skipped the bus all together.

Went for the kids' tour, and it was great. Jez was great with the kids and gave info that both them and the older kids(the adults!) could understand! Got to see all the major places in London and although the traffic was busy the tour flew by.

  • 2/5 Peter C. 2 months ago on Google • 12 reviews New
The idea is good but in practice things just don’t pan out. The main problems are firstly the traffic in London (which means it takes literally more than hour to get from Trafalgar Square to Tower Hiil, unless I assume it’s a weekend), secondly the lack of buses particularly on the green route (which makes switching routes time consuming) and thirdly that it would appear certain buses don’t have their gps switched on and therefore don’t appear on the app (which makes switching routes a gamble as well as time consuming). Other than that, the explanations over the earphones are skimpy, (nothing said of Westminster Abbey on the yellow route) and on occasions untimely due to road work diversions. Lastly, we also took the tower of London and the Thames excursions, which were fine, but there was no information on how to get to the entrances etc, which when you’ve got young children in tow, is very useful. In summary, a lot of money to pay for one day when in my opinion there’s no way to do the two main routes in one day, never mind the green commuter route. We ended up taking a cab to cover most of the blue route the following day, which was far more comfortable and better value for money.

10/10 experience on the kids tour! It was the perfect length of time for my 2 (nearly 3) year old to stay entertained, we had an excellent view of Big Ben (I’d reccomend sitting on the top left hand side, facing forward for the best view). Also, very easy and straight forward to find the meeting point. Despite being caught in a bit of London traffic (during which Jez kept everyone entertained with a quiz), the tour wasn’t cut short and we saw everything! It was excellent value.

The tour (yellow line) stated we would see Buckingham Palace. We didn't!! The tour also now operates an audio channel which you need earphones to listen to. We were not advised of thus or afforded the chance to buy some if there were any available. I did finally download the app but even the audio was our of sync. Not great value at all.

We went on kids tour today only us and one family on the bus. It was very clean and the guide Tim was excellent and made it a fun trip for the children. I would recommend to other families..40 min trip and you see all big major attractions and points of interest.

Windsor: Bus runs fast around route and if you’re on the top deck you’re likely to get swiped by tree branches. The audio commentary is 9 months out of date because there are references to the Queen and she died 9 months ago.

Perfect way to simplify seeing the main sights in London! We booked online easily the 24 hour tour. So here is how it went and what we did that made it great: Download the app, once they activate the pass from your email you see the buses in real time, there are a lot of them. Makes timing hop ons much easier. There is a free map as well we got on bus that saved the phone batteries when we just wanted the overview. Go to any stop and look for one of their employees. If none are there just show the email to the bus driver. They activate the pass and give you a receipt that acts as your on-board pass. Keep that handy! On the bus are free headsets to listen to tour audio. We didn't do that but it's in several languages and plugs in at the seat. One bus just played the audio over the speaker which was fine as well.

  • 2/5 Benjamin Cory J. 1 year ago on Google
The buses didn't run as often as stated. They also didn't run as late as stated. The buses were dirty and unkept. The audio guides were lacking in information and often missed their gps queue. The tootbus app also didn't show live locations and the information in it was different than the map handed to us by the employee. It was a less than pleasant experience. We bought a 72 hour pass and only used the bus for maybe a total of 2 hours. We probably stood waiting for buses for a total of two hours because they wouldn't show when they said they would. Spend the money on one of the other tours.

So disappointing. Booked for our daughter to sight see and yellow routes ran really late/no bus arrived on a baking hot day. We gave up waiting. No recourse to get a refund Update to your reply tootbus. You left my wife and daughter with no buses at midday. They waited and waited and no bus turned up. Not on, will you refund for providing no service?

Waited well over an hour and 15 minutes for a bus on the blue route. If you decide to use them, go into central city of London to catch them. Very few buses on the blue route. App is glitzy with few details like a schedule of when you could expect a bus to come. Don’t bother with river boat add on. No staff to direct you where to catch it and signage very poor. Gloucester road stop doesn’t list Tootbus on signage. Saw way more Big bus and Gray line tour buses. Audio tour has lots of music and not so much about attractions. Audio quit halfway through Yellow route tour. Driver not even aware it wasn’t working. Save your money and go with one of the other groups.

  • 2/5 Val N. 1 year ago on Google
The busride was very enjoyable but the audio was dreadful. The speech wasn't in synch with the journey and we'd passed most attractions before they were mentioned and very little info given. Far too much music. Tower of London wasn't mentioned and surprised we only passed the exit of Buckingham Palace. Staff very pleasant

  • 1/5 Marsut M. 9 months ago on Google

Extremely-shockingly little audio content! (almost no audio descriptions of visited places - only music played on cheap earphones), big prices. I warn new customers! A total waste of time. Most of the time the bus is stuck in the traffic.

The yellow Tour is worth it. We did it with the kids and they liked it too. But the organisation could be better. We waited for an hour at Trafalgar square without any useful information before the ticket selling guy came to pick us up to the next stop just to take the same route. Quite surrealistic. The website contains too much information and it's difficult to find the simplest tours when you are overwhelmed by too much commercial information

Jumped on at London Bridge to start our tour of London, given headphones to plug in to hear all about the places on the tour, very informative ( could do with updating now we have a King) with the added bonus of comedy. Couldn't always see what was being described as we were stuck in traffic quite alot but they tape continued. Two great routes Buses were regular. Does the same routes as some of the more 'expensive' tour buses. Option to buy the boat tour aswell

Worst bustour ever! Our driver took a wrong route so we missed a few highlights without any explanation. Later in the afternoon we tried to take the bus again, 30min later... Still no bus. We downloaded the app and saw two busses driving past in another street but not driving towards the stop we were at. No information at the stop why it wasn't being used. At that time it was to late to walk to another stop. Waste of time and money. Never again. Wouldn't recommend this service at all.

Lovely staff and a comfortable way to look at the city. Yellow route is fine. Blue route 25 minutes waiting for bus. Terrible information on where to locate bus stops - we spent nearly 30 minutes going up and down the street trying to find the Kensington Park one. Their app is useless. Never got to use river bus because of diversions and delays (not their fault) that took us forever to get thru traffic so can’t comment on that part.

  • 5/5 Maya O. 11 months ago on Google
We took the yellow route for recommended important locations, bought the tickets online so conveniebt to go on the bus near our hotel to start our day. You get earphones to listen to touristic explanations while the bus is moving. We also purchased through the guy at one of the bus stops discount tickets for combined entry to St. Paul cathedral and London Bridge tower. There are other options as well. There are 3 routes available, you can see on their website the exact road and stopping points.

This tour was simply bad on all fronts. Didn't label that stops were closed, all stops much later than advertised, bus even went in the opposite direction stated. I would like to say the employees did a good job but that would be a lie, they were extremely unknowledgeable and unhelpful, with all the useful knowledge coming from workers in the competing tour groups. The pre-recorded narration came off like a low-grade commercial for businesses along the tour. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT give this tour company your business!

Not a good experience. First off their US partner did not follow through with proper tickets. One of the OT reps did that get sorted. That part was not their fault. I want to make that clear. However, while their people were polite enough, we often got confusing and/or incorrect information about changing buses and where to get off. A couple of their people were actually helpful. But that was the exception not the rule. The worst part happened today March 3, 2020. We were trying to get from the Tower of London to Gloucester station. We found that to be confusing in itself. One young lady helped us get to a bus that took us to where we could transfer to an Original Tour blue route bus. We were eventually dropped off at Hyde Park at approximately 445 pm. We were told the blue route bus would be along in about 5-6 minutes. That seemed reasonable so we waited. The last buses run at 5 pm. Five pm came and went and no bus. We started to get concerned because it was a 2.1 mile walk to Gloucester station. Since it is March in London it is rather cold and windy. The 5-6 minute wait turned into 35 minutes of standing in the cold and windy conditions. During that 35 minute wait no less than 10 buses each from other tour companies, Golden Tours and Big Bus, came and went. We were about to give up and call Uber or just start the walk. But the bus did finally show and we were on our way. Next time we will use one of the other companies. They may not be any less confusing but they seem to have many more buses and we wouldn't have had to stand in the cold.

Fantastic way of seeing all the sites without having to kill yourself walking! Would recommend.

We were excited to experience an open top bus in London but could not hear the live commentary! We could initially hear the automated commentary through the speakers but as soon as the man sat at the front started speaking we could only hear music through the speakers! The sights were great but disappointing not to see the front of Buckingham Palace from the bus. The Driver that took over was lovely and stopped to let us off for the included river cruise with City cruises which was fantastic and the highlight of the package. Would highly recommend that part! Make sure to allow plenty of time!

We had a tour guide named tim, he was so friendly and polite, he knew his facts about london and had a lovely personality, he talked us through the bus and why it had stopped on a few occasions as we was early to stops, we were the last people on so his last stop was where we wanted to go, (so nice) he even made sure we knew how to get to our hotel from where we were too, lovely man, made our experience amazing, cheers tim!

We got to see everything we wanted to and were able to get off at Buckingham palace. Visit the albert bar too and hop back on, we caught a tour guide on the way back which was much better than listening to the earphones and pre recorded voice. Their services are cut short because of covid including the river tour which which was a let down.

The posted schedule was incorrect therefore were left standing at an inactive stop for an hour. The bus also ended abruptly at 4 and we were told to take public transportation.

Don't always get a tour guide. Great when one is on the bus. Bit naff if not.

Bad points: I had received Leisure Vouchers as a birthday present and wanted to use these to pay for the tour. The chap selling the tickets insisted they didn't take them, and asked all the rival tour operators if they would take them! I then showed him the website, and he phoned the visitor centre who confirmed they did take them, by which time the bus had gone & we had a 20 min wait for the next one! On Saturday lots of roads were closed due to protesting, so we spent 2 hours on bus going no where as the roads were gridlock. Good points: the river cruise was amazing with good views. The yellow route we managed to do before the road closures was very informative with funny guides. Don't think it was worth £34 as we didn't get to see much on Saturday before our ticket expired.

(Translated by Google) Excellent staff with a nice tour both by bus and by ferry, too bad that there was no Italian language on the ferry, I recommend the ticket online as in the shacks sometimes they get it wrong (Original) Personale eccellente con bel giro turistico sia in bus che col traghetto, peccato che sul traghetto non c'era la lingua italiana, consiglio il biglietto on line visto che nei baracchini a volte sbagliano

(Translated by Google) For an express trip, a bus of this type saves a lot of time and allows you to see many places in a short time 😉. The bad experience was that even if you buy a 24-hour ticket, neither on the web nor the guides inform you that the last bus leaves at 18:30 to return ☹️, I think that in summer the schedule is more extensive, but better check it before 🙃 .

(Translated by Google) We took our tickets in Picadilly station helped by the ticket machine who spoke excellent French. We regret the lack of explanations at the beginning because we have been looking for 30 minutes to stop the yellow line. In addition, a woman holding a kiosk near Picadilly misinformed us and was more than unpleasant (bitch)! For the positive, we loved being able to visit London and see the lights from the bus floor. For the negative: we are warned to pay attention to the bus stop time but we are not told that we are abandoned anywhere without telling us the nearest metro (2 times!). Finally, the tour is sold with the guarantee of a French translation gold on the yellow line, we were told no from the start and on the boat (the tour includes a trip on the Thames) either!

We had a stellar experience. Two adults and two kids. Kevin was our guide and her ensured our time was we'll spent. The cost included the water tour as well which was great considering the price and weather. 4 stars because when we hoped back on we got the headphones instead of a guide and that was not as entertaining or informational.

Literally get any other bus service but this one! This was unfortunately the second time we used this bus service and was disappointed both times. They advertised bus wait times that were not accurate because in the off season they don’t run as many buses. We were told 15-20 minutes for the Yellow line that turned out to be 45 minutes to an hour. They also close stops for various reasons that you have to download the app to find out about otherwise there is no way to know. Drivers will choose to skip some stops on their own accord that are not closed. My family and I waited at a stop for 30 minutes and watched a bus pass right by us. Someone from another company told us that we should go to another stop because our company frequently skips this stop. Please stay away from this company. We saw so many people complaining to drivers about the same issues.
