We spent £700 at Nobu and we’re about to order more, bearing in mind we were 20 minutes into the visit, when the waiter came up to us and said that no more alcohol could be served on our table because we “appeared too drunk”. For context, we were a table of 7 and we were sat in a secluded corner and had only had 3 gin and tonics and 1 bottle of sake ordered to the table. We were then watched constantly and made to feel incredibly uncomfortable. Never going back. Never felt more shamed and uncomfortable in a restaurant ever and considering the exclusivity and price of this establishment, it was absolutely shocking. We all even offered to take breathalyser tests. Very unnecessarily embarrassing and unnecessary experience.

If you are an events planner and are looking to host at this venue, I would strongly advise against it. There were communication issues with the event planner in advance, during the event, and even still now (event was in Sept), causing last minute changes and additional costs incurred due to not following through on promises made to deliver on. There were little to no efforts made by the planner to rectify any of the issues caused, despite that fact these issues were of their own faulting. I have been chasing a refund for months now and have found the team to be extremely unresponsive, again failing to follow through on items they promised to deliver on, in writing.

Used it as a base to recharge my batteries over a coffee (and brownie) while doing a few work calls. Bar service was very good, my table had several plugs near it and it was quiet enough to hear myself think while still having an atmosphere. Will definitely use here again

Nobu is a really amazing hotel. The outside is a very interesting shape which makes it unique. The rooms are very modern and the bathrooms are wonderful. The staff are really nice and the sushi is very fresh and tasty. The bar is really good and the rooms come with complementary drinks the only thing is that you have to pick the drinks off of a separate menu. If you have breakfast that is included you can only pick certain things which is not very nice as they are the same price as everything else on the menu.

Beautiful restaurant beautiful staff beautiful food. Everything was stunning. The black cod and the baby shrimp in the sauce and the special which was some sort of huge prawn with caviar all were amazing. Had such a lovely experience

Extra Special they went over and above for my friends birthday suprise. I booked 1 night, we had beautiful massages muscle melt at the spa and dinner at Nobu restaurant. Stayed here with a friend for her b-day and it was absolutely amazing! They made a complimentary bday cake that was waiting in our room. All the staff at every stage across hotel, spa and restaurant were so attentive and helpful. was such a special day thank you Nobu

Food + location = amazing. Always fan of the restaurants atmosphere and of course the food + service (your main server will always really know their stuff). Hotel though is average tbh and has a lot to be desired compared to other options across London + compared to what you expect from Nobu based on the restaurant and high regard they hold themselves in. Had a bunch of hassle booking in too (booked 3 rooms, went out for lunch before got our room then returned to find we now had 5 rooms and different staff + luggage now missing and the staff couldnt seem to wrap their head around it all, was a bit silly) BUT in their defence, we were the only ones having any problems, and everything seemed to be running smoothly for everyone but us :P That said, wouldn't stay their again. Won't stop eating their though!

Stayed there for 4 days, my overall experience was great. I enjoyed the general atmosphere and the design as well. I stayed on the 4th floor, my room is quite big and well decorated. The staff is really professional and make sure customers have a great experience. Negatives - The staff at the restaurant seems to have different approach to customer experience, I booked the brunch but my experience wasn’t great, I was rushed to order and then to pay, even if the restaurant had a lot of empty seats… - Some customers are really noisy early in the morning or late at night, maybe an opportunity to introduce some policy for customers so everyone can have a great experience

The hotel lobby and restaurant are beautiful but the room I stayed in was small, worn and disappointing. There is no coffee machine and the furniture was dusty. The hallway to my room was extremely dark and seemed sort of creepy painted all black. With the Nobu name and the price I paid, I was expecting more.

TLDR version: Don’t stay here. I’ll preface this by saying we are very chill travellers. Never made a complaint. ever. (Check my review history) – but my experience at Nobu Shoreditch was horrible and I’d like to warn others about this “5 star” hotel. I’d also like to mention that before posting this I sent an email to hotel management outlining my concerns 9 days ago and have heard nothing back…so again not impressed with their customer service. Now onto my review… My husband and I were booked at the property for a 4 x night stay over the August bank holiday weekend. It was our first night in London and after check in / dropping off our luggage, we went straight out to dinner. We returned to our room shortly after midnight to find bugs in our bed after we pulled back the duvet. We immediately called the night manager who saw the state of the bed and advised us to pack up and he would move us to an “upgraded” room as a customer service gesture. The “upgraded” room was the EXACT same room but on floor 4 vs 2. We were too exhausted from travelling to fight that battle in the middle of the night and would take it up with “Tariq” the day manager in the AM. Fast forward to the following morning - my husband goes to speak to Tariq, who tried to convince us that the photo of the bug was a piece of fluff. Does fluff have wings and antennae? I don’t think so. He then mentioned the company Nobu hires for linens works by appointment for the Queen? None of this was relevant to our situation and I was floored that this was not taken more seriously, especially since we had (and still have) photographic evidence. In the end, Tariq offered us £100 off our total bill, but made sure to mention that since we booked via a third party site, that the room rate was already discounted and we should be happy with that outcome. We were not - but we accepted at the time, so we did not have to spend our entire vacation dealing with this situation. Unfortunately this was just the beginning of our issues at the property. In addition to the incident above, we found half eaten food in the mini bar refrigerator (was not ours), our room lost all power and had to be fixed by facilities, AND came back one night to realize housekeeping removed every single towel from our room and did not replace them. Had to air dry until the front desk finally got around to providing us with 2 x towels 30 mins later. I’m so very disappointed with not only with the cleanliness of the hotel - but also how they speak to and treat guests who are trying to enjoy their vacation. My husband and I often stay at REAL 5-star properties globally for work and leisure and we truly should of done our due diligence before booking here. It seems like others that have stayed at the hotel have had similar experiences with hotel standards.

I stayed here as a solo female traveller and LOVED it. I arrived and it was gorgeous first of all, then I spoke with the staff and they were amazing and so kind and helpful. Then I went to my room, AND WOW. Absolutely beautiful and comfortable and stylish. The lighting was a bit complicated as it wasn’t made clear how to turn the lights on / off etc… so I had to figure that out, but once I did it was fine and sleek. FYI also the bed lamps you just tap to turn on and off… otherwise, I loved it. The breakfast was great, definitely recommend doing once, then go around other places for breakfast. I want to shout Sooji and Marion … both of those gals were awesome! We had great conversation, they were super welcoming and helpful with everything (including a date I went on) :) … they made sure I was safe too. The whole staff is great, but they were my favorite and went above and beyond to make me feel like this was home. For sure am coming back!!!

Stayed here with a friend for her b-day and it was absolutely amazing! They made a complimentary bday cake that was waiting in our room and had complimentary champagne. A special shoutout to Lino who made our stay amazing. The passion he has for his work is inspirational and this demonstrates itself in his exceptional customer service.

I attended an evening event here in January and haven't been able to stop thinking about the food since. Honestly the best sushi I ever had, delicious wine and a great atmosphere. Can't wait to visit again when they re-open

Book this for my 50th birthday. Absolutely poor service. Left ages to be served drinks - 30 minutes and had to get the reception staff to call someone to take drinks order. When ordering food the waiter could not give advice on what to order and when asked what something was he could just say yes that is nice. The food was served quickly and then plates cleared so quick that there was still food on them. To our surprise the waiting staff cleared the plates away and asked if we wanted the deserts menu. We thought they were clearing the plates for the mains and when we asked if we could have some more food the waiter said yes deserts as food would take too long. Finally waited for 30 minutes to get a waiters attention and we ended up going to the receptionist and asking for the bill. I requested the service charge to be removed and the reception staff seemed life less and did not even ask if we had any feedback. I paid the bill and not even a thank you from the reception team.

The classic rooms are not of a 5* standard, I have stayed in better 4* hotels. The rooms are small and pokey and the dark colour scheme doesn’t help ! The service from employees is not very customer centric and most definitely not what you would expect from a `5 star hotel‘. Its not a hotel I would return to, its more of a i’ve done it once but wouldn't do it again kind of experience. Its not a hotel I would recommend to others if planning to stay in the classic room, there are better options in London within the locale of this one.

I thoroughly enjoyed my week long stay at the Nobu Hotel Shoreditch. The staff is thoughtful, remembering you by name and leaning in and out of your experience as necessary. The staff was personable and handled a mix up with my booking professionally. The decor is well kept and maintained and everything is to working order. Room staff was extra thoughtful for both services, turndown being my favorite. The way the staff thoughtfully arranged my belongings was delightful. Room service was reasonable with a 24 hour menu and arrived under 30 minutes every time. The blackout panels work perfectly. Bathroom floors are heated. All lighting is capable of leveling. The location was in the heart of Shoreditch and accessible to all areas including public transportation. All in all, one of the better hospitality experiences I've had the pleasure of enjoying. Will be my go-to for all future London trips.

Mum booked their facial + massage for my birthday treat, have to say their service was excellent! Their massage therapists are super professional and helpful in explaining which massage oil would fit our needs. My mum sprained her ankle on her way and they did help to give her an ice pack and suggested to go to nearby hospital. The changing room was so luxurious that has everything a customer needed, and they also got a steam sauna room in there. It was around £500 for two of us but I guarantee this is so worth it! I’m definitely coming back for treatments again!

Had a great stay. The staff (Lucky and Marian(spelling?)) were so friendly and helpful. There's not actually any parking nearby despite what the description says - we were caught out with around £50 in parking fees The food at the restaurant is super fresh and delicious (try the rock shrimp!) and the breakfast is good with some delicious pastries

We booked our buffet brunch 2 months ago. We saw the ad on insta. This buffet brunch experience is definitely overrated. When we arrived yesterday, the front desk said our table is ready. But it wasn’t because it’s missing 2 chairs. We were placed near the isle, my chair was constantly being hit by other people. There was only one soy sauce left and it was near empty, I had to ask for the staff to refill it (I think she was the manager, she was nice and helpful). The waitress didn’t really explain how the buffet works, it was our first time but then the manager was helpful and explained that we can start right away. The presentation was great but sashimi was limited. There were basically 3 types of fish, tuna, salmon and seabass cooked in different styles, then the thinly sliced steak . Was it worth for £90 excl VAT? Absolutely not. Mains were ok, quality of the meat was great and the articucho flavour was great. We feel that the teriyaki sauce can be more authentic, looked like the chef had put on too much cornstarch to make the sauce thick. You can probably skip the cornstarch and marinate the protein instead. The batter for the tempura was soggy and thick. Suggest you put the sauce on the side, that maybe better and use proper tempura batter. The sashimi next to the counter were semi cooking under the heat lamps, you can tell by the time they were at the serving table, most of them were cooked already (if you use a temperature gun, you’ll probably need to throw most dishes away). The temperature of the sashimi were not cold, mostly in room temperature. I do think it’s because the plates were too thick (and not chilled) and by the time the ice reached the sashimi, they need to be refilled again. The fruits can be less stingy. We’ve probably had the thinnest slice of water melon in our lives. Pineapple and melons were way too ripped. You could see it started to brown. The earl grey tea panacota was delicious tho. When we go the bill, we were charged for 8 people. I don’t know how the waitress managed that, we booked for 7 and we only ordered 7 mains. Overall, ok visit but definitely not value for money (food + service). Other 5* hotel/restaurants did a much greater job than Nobu. Will not be visiting again. It’s a shame, there are definitely lots of low hanging fruits and improvements can be made.

The first room we got smelled like cigarettes, it was awful. We stayed there for about 30 seconds, called the front desk and they set us up with a new room immediately, they were very apologetic and handled it perfectly. They were already kind enough to let us check in early. I don’t know if hotels know how important that is to travelers, checking in early, but after traveling across the world all you want to do is relax in your space and I think the staff at this hotel knew that. Thank you for letting us get in our room early!

Where do I begin. A weekend of celebration turned into a pointless stay. Even though I live in London, I booked this stay for my partners 30th birthday, along with bringing our dogs. I emailed on countless occasions on the lead up to make sure it was a celebration, however when I arrived at the desk, the person beside me got better service and towels ?! Until I looked over and the lady felt bad, so then gave it me after 5 mins. I advised before arriving that I was bringing my dog, and expected the dog amenities to be provided on arrival. They were not. Instead when we got to our floor, the cleaner said “the rooms not ready for the dog you’ll have to wait for their stuff” Great start! We had massages booked in for that day, so left the dog with no bed and went down to have them. OH WOW. NEVER AGAIN. We get hotel massages all the time, and I can quite honestly say, save yourself the money on this one. My partner is wearing a muscle aid on his elbow since, as what was supposed to be the “aromatherapy” relax massage, turned out to be a sports massage from HELL! We are in agony days later still, and I did tell them to be gentle. Do not use their spa services !! Went to the changing rooms after the massage to use the steam room. And don’t bother! It was like a pure gym changing rooms with towels all over the floor. We booked in for the restaurant in the evening, and that was good.. but for a £570 bill you’d expect it to be. Considering I told them about the birthday, and the amount I spent…. It could have been nice for my partner to have been acknowledged? All in all, I’m a £1000 down, he didn’t like his 30th birthday, and he’s injured. So thanks Nobu. Oh and p.s the rooms are so pathetically small, it could cause an argument getting ready that’s for sure! With how much money was spent in just 24 hours in this vicinity you would think at least a room upgrade would have been adequate. Or maybe just a simple candle at dinner!!! We don’t ask for much?

We just had a two-night stay at this wonderful hotel. The service was utterly flawless from the moment we checked in until we reluctantly checked out. Nothing was too much trouble, and we felt genuinely valued. The hotel is dog-friendly - and it truly is, unlike some that merely pay lip-service to it. The fuss all the staff made of our elderly Pug was incredible. The location is just perfect, and I cannot recommend Nobu Hotel Shoreditch highly enough. It's a perfect 10 from us!

Had an amazing stay, the rooms are simple yet stylishly unique. Staff very welcoming and friendly never felt over done or false. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in London, and this by far is one of the best. Planning on my next stay for sure.

Today, my wife and I had the distinct pleasure of brunching here, and it was unequivocally one of the finest brunch experiences we’ve ever had – especially in the Asian domain. The fusion cuisine was executed to perfection, and everything was impeccably fresh and delectable. It was most certainly worth the journey, and we’d revisit in a heartbeat. The ambiance was quite the highlight, though I refrained from snapping shots of the buffet (personal preference). However, I’m more than happy to share pictures of the splendid surroundings. A minor critique would be the volume within the establishment; it was rather bustling and the music was a tad overbearing for our liking. Additionally, we found the tables somewhat closely packed and the wooden chopsticks seemed a tad out of place. That said, the staff were utterly charming, attentive, and considerate – it was a lovely touch to see our napkins neatly folded each time we departed our seats. A word to the wise: do book weeks in advance as they’re perpetually fully booked. All in all, highly commendable!

Had the most wonderful time at the Nobu brunch back in August. Insanely good food, wonderful drinks and 5* service, especially Darragh’s service who was impeccable throughout!!!!! Truly an asset to the team. Have already rebooked to go again as the whole experience was truly brilliant. Not been to a brunch that has lived up before or after!

Rooms are nice, beds incredibly comfy. Bathrooms lovely. Location perfect. However, no coffee machine in a hotel of this calibre unless you’re in a junior suite is madness, and breakfast was very disappointing.

Below average stay at Nobu. Would not recommend nor return. Great location being right in the center of Shoreditch with lots of bars and restaurants a few mins walk. I would recommend staying at The Hoxton hotel instead of Nobu. Rooms were much smaller than other 5* hotels in central London, dimly lit and the key fob system is slightly annoying. Service was very mixed. Staff during breakfast and dinner were often hurried and keen to clear plates even if I was still eating. Rather irritating. Be warned that they charge you service charge for breakfast and add this to the check out bill. Breakfast was poor - when compared to other 5 star hotel breakfasts in central London. It was a small buffet and if you wanted a cooked dish (eg omelette) this was an additional charge. Whilst the quality of all food provided was high, the range and lack of options was a sore letdown. Both coffees we ordered tasted burnt and we had to order tea instead. We used both the fitness facilities and the steam room and both are apparently 24/7 available. The fitness gym was excellent, all machines were very modern and in good working order. There was plenty of space to work out and there were towels and water if needed. Steam room was great and is located inside the changing room. Parking at the weekend is free after 1.30pm from Sat through to Sunday evening right opposite the hotel on the street. However it sits inside the congestion charge zone so be mindful about entering and exiting outside of the charge times. When we arrived we found on street parking 5 mins walk from the hotel and ended up moving the car to opposite the hotel after discovering the street parking policy.

Be aware when booking a room that includes breakfast they try charging you at the end for service charge even when the breakfast is part of payment. Rooms are tiny and small and carpets stained heavily felt kind of dirty

The hotel was a delight. Our room was reasonably small but very well designed and everything just worked. There's a great calm ambience but you step outside right into crazy Shoreditch. Perfect for An East London city break.

£60 menu was amazing! So worth the money honestly for the quality and the establishment. The sashimi was fresh and very generous for a buffet setting - tuna, salmon, octopus and assortment all done in open kitchen. Fantastic. Boyfriend and I are such fans we’re coming back for sure!! Had the all you can drink add on too.

Beautifully designed hotel with extremely attentive, helpful and friendly staff. The service is next to nothing and the staff really all go the extra mile. For this reason alone I give it 5 stars. The only thing that let it down was the air conditioning within the rooms, I feel it was a little weak and also noticed at times that smells from the kitchen would come through. Other than this, a perfect stay.

We had a good stay at the nobu. However, the staff was rude and unnecessarily snooty. We loved the bedroom. It was clean, peaceful and quiet. The bed was really comfortable too! Breakfast was pretty good too. This would be a perfect experience if the staff wasn't so debonair and casually abrupt.

An oasis in London. The staff went above and beyond with the accommodations for my two blind parents, especially the manager Lino, who was simply outstanding. From the transportation services, the comfortable suite, to the check in, to the amazing bar, everything in the Nobu exceeded all my expectations.

Service was wonderful and polite on arrival, and the amenities of the hotel was well explained. The room was worn with stained carpets, the sink had peeling paint, and there were red fingerprint marks on the blinds (all pictured) . The light system was really not great as well. A portion of the duvet smelt extremely strongly of sulfur/ammonia ish, making us retch. Tried to call guest services twice within 5 minutes but nobody answered, was too tired and gave up trying as it was midnight. The room is a good size and I appreciated the TV. However it was BOILING despite having the thermostat at the lowest setting (18 celcius), couldn't seem to turn it off, went back 4 or 5 times to manually turn on the fan setting which I'm not sure whether it made a difference anyway. Would've tried to sort it out had guest services picked up the phone. My partner and I were perspiring slightly throughout the night even without the duvet. In the morning, lots of loud talking and banging about, knocking, which felt like my door was being knocked when it was my neighbours, and was thus abruptly awoken. Needs better soundproofing. Would not recommend this hotel given its price point which does not include breakfast, and how worn this place is. I've lived at much better places for a lot less!

As soon as I went through the door I was asked can I take the bag from you this is before I even got to the reception. Been greeted by receptionist and what I would only imagine being the welcoming director, because he asked how they were going and my partner said what he said and the director responded yes we already know about that I was taking a back they had done their research. We went to have breakfast and the managing staff clearly knew who we were if everything was alright I have to say I felt like royalty. I had one of the most banging buffet breakfasts I have ever had I mean the scrambled eggs was on a hot plate and it will still creamy as I worked in catering, I like to know what witchcraft is this?!? Every meal that had in this place was on point!! When in the restaurant sitting down and eating hearing the music that they are playing made me feel like I was at peace no word of a lie. So we went out to get on with our business and then returned that's the hotel only to be told that our bags were in a room with the champagne and the two bowls of fruit and water complimentary. now the killer was when I walk out of the lift and walk towards a room through the corridor of black and gold which I am dazzled by we get our key out which is not a card but a key and touch it on the door to enter sure them Fengshui excellence. I mean the bathroom was that magnificent the Wardrobe a walking and the TV the Wardrobe a walk-in and the TV swivels on the end of the bed PowerPoints with correctly distributed around the room only criticism I would have is that the lights that you have in the room that are USB charge via c type wire they was none in room to charge these! luckily am Inspector Gadget

Meddie, Jolitha and Demetry really made our stay for us. They made us feel so at home and can’t in enough words express how happy we were with the service! It’s really the little things that matter in this life and each of these nobu staff members did that. A great stay! Thank you! Best, Naz

Lovely hotel staff and decor, the Exec room was a great size with a huge TV that connected to Netflix and YouTube plus other streaming services which was an added bonus as well as blackout curtains. The only disappointment was the breakfast. We had an inclusive breakfast package however that only includes continental and there is an extra charge for a full English and it didn’t include baked beans. For a hotel notorious for their restaurants, I was disappointed in the breakfast offering. On a better note, the massage was a lovely experience and the gym had high spec range of equipment. Thank you to the team for the warm reception.

I joined my friend here for lunch last week and have to say the hotel concierge staff's service was shocking. The rooms are also very small for the price paid. We ate lunch in the restaurant and for 3 people it was £600 with 2 guests being non drinkers. The sushi was very good quality as you would expect but the steak we ordered was worse than you can buy & cook in a supermarket. I have eaten at Nobu's around the world and this was by far the poorest. It was not the worst lunch I have had but for the price it was very average. We left disappointed & I would not return here.

Everything is perfect. Location, service, and the room interior design. This is now my favorite hotel in London and it’s not exaggeration. I had really good time here, the place I could invited my friends over and they all love it. It is now my first choice whenever I’m traveling in London. If you are looking for a place surrounded by nice restaurants and offers welcoming services I highly recommend.

We had a beautiful stay here, love the aesthetic of the hotel. What really made it great was the service, particularly the staff in the hotel reception were so welcoming and helpful and a shout out to Betty in the bar for going the extra mile - no request was too much and she really made our night! One tip for the rooms - make sure you understand how the rolling blinds work as we didn’t understand there was a blackout layer so we spent the first night with a lot of light coming in through the window from the neighbouring office block who keeps its lights on all night.
