Not a place for tourist. Didn’t realize the location before I booked. Very out of the way from city center, an underground station, and an airport. My room was very dirty with debris in the sink, hair on my linens, and stains on the carpet and walls. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, and I wish there were more outlets in the room.

The entrance to the building smells of pure p*ss. Stains on carpet and curtains. Used toiletries from previous guest. Makes you wonder how much attention they pay to cleaning if they miss things like that. Wonky/unstable furniture. No sound proofing. We heard rattling, banging and the lift pinging all throughout the night. Unwelcoming receptionist. Didn't say anything or even smile. Acted like we were an inconvenience to her. Towel rail was left on hot but with no indication of warning of this, so my partner burned himself. Building work going on outside but we were not warned of this.

Comfortable clean but basic accomodation. There is a 24 hour reception with a mini fridge for purchasing water and soft drinks. Crisps and chocolate bars also available. Area is a little run down but we didn't visit for a cultural visit. One thing I would point out is be very careful not to hit your head on the corner of the shelf above the clothing rack. It's extremely dangerous and not a good design at all. My husband split his head open and needed his wound glued. The hotel reception staff on duty were aware of the incident as I asked for some first aid equipment but they didn't seem bothered to make a report about it!

Well, as a hotel probably 1star , the extra 1 I give today is because the staff was very good polite and extremely helpful. The owner could do a better job with ... actually everything!!! It could easily be part of the hospital and actually of the old part of the hospital that they don't use any more until renovation is completed! It was an important day for us so we needed to sleep somewhere in that area and we could not find many available rooms in a non Wimbledon Price! However just because this hotel is located in that postcode does not mean it is nice. I feel actually bad for the relatives of the patients who could not avoid it . The stains in the room are so old and everywhere!!!! Hygiene of common areas...no comments. However I always like to not leave only a bitter taste in my reviews, so I need to say that the cleaners have done their absolutely best , the bathroom was clean ( height of toilet though for children) and bed linen clean and warm. There was central heating that was working and Tv was working, too.,;)

I've stayed here several times, and it's a gamble what the stay will be like. Half of the time, I've had sleepless nights due to the noise from other residents, and when you raise the issue to the front desk, little to nothing is done to make up for it. The showers could also do with maintenance 90% of the time the shower heads leak due to a deteriorating seal on the hose. The shower doors are usually missing the seals also, and my most recent stay, my colleague had the door fall off. The rooms are usually pretty clean, but they forget the tv remotes that's are usually disgusting, I now bring my own LG remote so I don't need to touch it. The only reason I still stay is due to how close it is to my client

I love the name. Reminds me of my friend Pelican. The room was cold and ward like. There’s a cemetery and a hospital in close proximity, perhaps this hotel is step 1 towards certain death.

Rooms were decent but the staff were awful. Desk staff were polite but the cleaners were very rude. They come into the common room during breakfast every morning and yell amongst themselves. No exaggeration, they yell from one room to another. They also do this as they move throughout the building during the day. Very unpleasant and gave me a headache one morning.

Despite having an option to change dates at hotel's discretion on booking they preferred not to do so despite I am positive for covid. The receptionist preferred me to come on the schedule days while positive and infect staff and guests, despite having the option to easily change the dates (for which I would easily pay the difference as clearly stated on Booking). Bad bad bad.

Really nice place to stay for a really low price (relatively as for London)! Rooms were clean and modern with very comfortable beds. I guess this hotel is mainly dedicated to families visiting the nearby hospital, but it's great for tourists seeking good value vs money

Spectacular value for money. Like others I was very wary about what to expect for the price I had paid but I will definitely be using this hotel again. Great that there's a human being on reception 24hrs purely for first impressions. Room was great, clean and tidy. Got a great night's sleep. Amazing really for the price - well done to them for making an affordable product.

Clean and functional place to stay. It really only has the basics. No bar etc. It is ideally suited though for a stay that allows reasonable price travel into central London in about 30 minutes via the Northern line tube service. Would book again as it is so convenient and reasonably priced. There are plenty of bars and restaurants near by.

Very good stay. One of few hotels I have been in London that is cheap but offers you good services and most of all it is clean. The carpet floor was spot clean so the toilet and the room. When they cleaned my room daily it was done properly and not just changing towels like many hotels in London do. It was a very good stay for a business travel. Only down side is the noise I would say: the hotel rooms are in the ground floor as you enter the building so it is very noisy with people stopping by chatting , laughing and screaming ( it seems populated with young people from the above accomodation).

Cheap accommodation, on street parking at weekend only after 500pm I think and Sunday, safe and modern but woke up to a noisy outsider (drink?) At 0200 and the bed was very uncomfortable causing me back pains on waking up. The room service staff did not speak English, think she was from Brazil, when I tried to ask for a spare towel. Surely this is a basic requirement of employment in a London hotel? Better to book Premier Inn or Travelodge with safe parking and pay s tenner more!

The location is great considering it's a 5 minutes walk from st george's hospital. And the price is just right at this area. Good for accommodation for students and or staff working at st george's hospital.

I just got here, from Ireland. So far nice and quiet.want to use a 20 pence washing machine or dryer, floor 4,8. Brilliant. No looking around or expensive laundry shops. Staff very helpful,we stayed for 8 night's visiting relatives. Can use fridge or basic canteen area which is very good. No restaurant. Very close to bus stops,5 mt walk to high street.

Helpful staff, good deals available and value for money, the beds were super comfortable and the service was quick. The heating and cooling system were a saviour. Overall good experience and will definitely come back

Stayed 2 nights, clean functional room on the ground floor, a little small but was OK. Shower was powerful enough and hot. Bed was comfortable enough and slept OK, with a little bit of noise outside from hospital traffic. Does not have a bar & does not do breakfast. Parking was the worst bit, no hotel parking only on street parking. Free from 5.30pm to 9.00am then if you feed the parking metre approx £24 sees you through to the next morning.

Nice hotel. Room was large and clean, front desk was friendly and it’s in a convenient spot. Nothing special but for the price and a place to rest my head it was wonderful.

I was due to stay at this hotel this week, as I was due to have surgery the following day at St George’s hospital, which is located next to the hotel. My father sadly passed away a few days ago, so I had to postpone my surgery to a later date. When I contacted the hotel in an attempt to either cancel the booking or change the date, they refused to help. The receptionist I spoke to had an awful attitude & sounded miserable as sin. No customer service skills at all. I suggest she finds another job. I was told that as it was a non-refundable booking, the system won’t allow it. Considering my circumstances, I feel an exception could have been made, or at the very least, a little empathy to my situation rather than a stinking, careless attitude. An awful experience!

Room is small but tidy which is good, has air con. However one of the receptionist’s attitude absolutely ruined my stay. Didn’t smile didn’t say hi and replied me only with three words sentence when I checked in and out, I’ve never been treated like this in any of the hotels. I didn’t feel welcoming at all but the other stuffs are nice and friendly

    * forgot to take a picture * After stating my concern about the room, the manager and staff made sure to rectify this issue by offering a much better room on the ground floor. I would most likely spend another weekend at this hotel for sure! May also be a better idea by yourself then with company..just a tip😉

Stayed here for one night whilst I was visiting the Theatre. It was clean and tidy - the room I booked was a large double room. The initial bed situation was two singles which got changed after speaking to reception ( take in mind they just pushed the two singles together and put a king size sheet over the top to give the illusion of a king sized bed). The walls are a little thin , you can hear the elevator from your room and various noises. The location was out the way but easily accessible via bus and tube. The restaurant is not currently in use - so no breakfast is available. I would stay here again though.

Very good location Rooms are good The floor spread to be changed as it got dirty. The cup board is not suitable as it has sharp edges and half made . The manager Mr. Jerome is gem of a person who is extending good communication to the customers.

Booked this hotel on Thursday evening for a trip to London in October. Realized 20 mins after booking the hotel was too far out from where we need to be. Contacted the hotel immediately to cancel the booking. They have no intentions whatsoever of helping. I understand they have terms & conditions in place, considering I contacted them within 20 mins of confirming I thought there may have been a small cancellation fee that I was happy to pay but they can only offer full cancellation charges. Exceptionally low level of customer service

Great find. This place was ideal for me as somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay in London. Short walk from the tube and plenty of food outlets and small supermarkets in the area. My check in was speedy and efficient. I was in a small double that was well presented. The rooms are modern but just a little worn around the edges. That said, my room was immaculate and the bedding and towels were in good condition. The hotel is in the grounds of an hospital and I can only assume that it's possibly the old nurse's home? As it was a Sunday night that I stayed it was very quiet in the grounds. I slept undisturbed. In summary, if you just want somewhere to put your head down for a night or two I would thoroughly recommend it.

The rooms itself were nice and clean, although a bit small. The location is really bad for parking and got hit with a surprise deposit fee in case of damage which I wasn't made aware of before booking.

Great location, clean rooms, piping hot water in the shower, accommodating helpful staff for the most part - could not be closer to St. George's hospital (which was essential for me) - they lose two stars because one night I ordered take out - apparently it was delivered and the receptionist told the driver to leave it on the table there in reception (which he did) - I wasn't notified, so when I went down 20 minutes later to see if it had arrived, I saw an empty table, no food. Called the restaurant - they said it HAD been delivered and apparently a hotel guest had stolen it. That's not the hotel's fault, but I've been asking since 23rd December (today is 9th January) for them to look at the security footage so I could see WHO took my food - AND THEY IGNORE EVERY REQUEST. THEY DON'T CARE. Why have security cameras everywhere if they don't want to or can't access it. Now I'll never know what happened. It was no accident - this was a deliberate theft and the hotel could not care less. It would take 10 minutes to look at the footage between 8.15 and 8.45 pm on that day in question - yet they can't be bothered.

Needed a place to stay whilst visiting nan in hospital. Very good location - basically on Sat George's premesis opposite Atkinson and Morley wing on blackshaw road. Very reasonable and the late check out can be purchased till 2pm! Good WiFi too was able to work from there in the morning.

Very warm welcome and truly hospitable. I live and a resident of Pelican and it’s really quite comfortable and close to the tube station and buses. It’s very safe and friendly area to be in. I highly recommend weather staying as a guest or living as a resident.

We had a large double, good size room, tea/coffee/biscuits in room, clean, no dining room yet, work being carried out, good location just beside St George Hospital, our friends had a small double and it was small but had everything in it.

In 1976 I slept in a room on the 12th floor with three other nurses we had a fantastic time. Our flat had four bedrooms a kitchen, bathroom and two toilets...…fantastic memories.

Staying in or around a hospital is always a stressful experience. It was nice to be able to work and relax in a homely environment whilst at the the hospital. Thank you.

Beautiful room, very clean and well laid out. My only complaint is that I now have 3 bruises on my leg from the square wooden bed base. It's dangerous. I really hurt my leg. That aside our stay was lovely and the bed was really comfortable

  • 5/5 Kilburn D. 1 year ago on Google
The staff were exceptional. The room is big compared to other hotels in the city, the carpet had stains but the room was otherwise very clean. There were more than enough tea bags and coffee for us and sometimes the staff even left cookies for us on the desk. There was a breakfast room (they used to serve breakfast) that has a microwave, now the hotel guests can utilise that room for meals or leisure. The hotel is a bit far to walk from tube station (15 mins), but there are plenty of buses in front. Feels a bit creepy at night because of the cemetery across the road but other than that its superb!

Absolutely Good value for money. Ignore other opinions I don’t understand what people expect for what they are paying. Actually it was the cheapest during Easter who looks decent and we had a nice stay. Room really big and clean. Some tea, coffee and cookies for free at room. Receptionist was so friendly
