Absolutely ridiculous, broken down facilities, closing down early, kicking people out of the pool due to "rota errors", rude deputy manager absolutely clueless about what is happening on site. First week of membership and not impressed by how it is run. Classes taking whole facilities scheduled for the most busy times of the day, dry sauna broken, steam sauna not working properly. Not value for money, not as advertised and wasting people time with errors!

Paying £60 per month you'd normally expect certain level of customer service as well as facilities being in repair. I can't complain about everyone in the gym but most of the staff is very dismissive and negative. There is a significant amount of mold on the ceiling in the males showering area and no one seems to be bothered about it. The toilet seat was broken for over a month now and every each and one of the staff was telling completely different story that "it has been ordered" or "just arrived" and the best one was that "it will be installed tomorrow" (for over two weeks now). Thankfully my contract ends soon so will take my money somewhere else and it's a shame because it's well located and has a decent space and potential. Honestly don't bother and go elsewhere.

For a gym that charges £700 plus, the facilities and hygiene are exceptionally poor. The safety procedures put in place for coronavirus are practically non-existent. Nobody is having their temperature checked on arrival, intense cleaning procedures seem minimal based on seeing used tissues in every other machine (at the beginning of the day might I add). Cleaning wipes in the pods aren't replaced, so the people that are even bothering to clean their equipment can’t even do so. The tapings on the floor don't even make for good decoration, not sure why those have been laid out. They haven't even offered to reduce fees given we aren’t even able to make use of all the facilities that we originally signed up for. If you're thinking of joining might as well use the gym up the road to be honest, at least you'll be better off financially! Some of the equipment seems to be damaged, which they’ve either not fixed or done a rubbish patch work on. When we were able to use the steam room, you'd be lucky if the room was even warm enough. Even when you write in to voice your concerns, you'd be lucky to get a reply. Id like to know where all the membership money is going?! Looking at the comments below, they seem to have an ignorance is bliss approach to customer feedback since nothing seems to have changed over the years, only their fees! The only time they've bothered to respond is when they've had good feedback. Laughable really.

I’m reading all this reviews and sadly I myself a few days ago have also fallen a victim of the complete lack of customer service and total disrespect from the manager at Willesden NuffieldHealth centre. Sadly this gym has a big reputation I mean it’s NuffieldHealth so what will I achieve by telling you about my extremely horrible treatment received by this gym management? All I can say is please go and join this gym and become a member and if the same thing happens to you. You are going to wish you had never had placed a foot in their premises.I will never ever go to that gym again. I feel disgusted how someone can reach a position of managerial. When all he uses his position is to tell people what he can or can’t do. No one deserves to be treated or intimidated the way this manager decided to treat me. Sadly this will more than likely fall on deaf ears. Customer service don’t live in this gym when it comes to the manager and how to treat members or potential new joiners as myself. One potential member lost for good more will follow...

This gym has ill-mannered and uncultured members who are abusive to other civilised members. For example there is a chap who shouts and curses at other members if he sees them coughing or sneezing. Many have witnessed him verbally abusing other members if he hears them coughing or sneezing in the men's showers. Sadly management refuse to say anything to him because apparently he has been a member for a long time and nobody else has complained about him. I complained to the manager (Jay Ali) and instead the manager accused me of having personal issues with the unscrupulous member. I am this close to simply cancelling my membership and sending a formal complaint to the Nuffield head office because I don't pay gym membership to come and get verbally abused by weirdos who need mental health therapy. The gym is unfortunately full of riff raff who clearly don't know how to behave in a civilised society. It's a real shame because due to the size and location of the gym it has real potential but a few nut jobs are ruining it for others.

Rude teenage staff that sit on the counter at the entrance as though sat on a wall outside. They remove services and equipment whenever they need more profit, they literally just shut the jacuzzi for 6 months to increase profit by saving energy. Showers rarely work, toilets are always filthy and at least one out of order (there are only 2), already wildly overcrowded but they keep signing up people up on really cheap deals meaning those who paid a higher price originally for a more exclusive experience find themselves unable to use equipment because a bunch of people given special prices are there. They told me they reserve the right to remove any equipment or service they want without warning, so you sign up today and half the stuff you wanted to use is no longer available, they acknowledge it’s morally wrong but said legally they can do what they want. High turnover of staff including management means there is no attempt to please the customer at all. Quite the opposite in fact, as they’re all exceptionally young or in some cases in there 30s but very immature they try to impress eachother with rudeness to customers. Avoid this place At all costs, no new equipment since 2009 and their new trend is take away services and equipment that are costly to them in order to increase their profit, not even a sorry, the manager actually said “I don’t understand what your problem is” when I pointed out that declaring you’re closing facilities to increase profit when some people only signed up to use those facilities is wrong, the “manager” truly didn’t see it like that.

Opening hours are incorrect. They claim they close at 22:00 (mon-fri) and 20:00 (sat/ sun), however they kick you out 30 minutes before this time I asked why the closing hours are wrong, and they say that they aren't wrong as they close 30 minutes early so staff can go home at the closing time Not sure why they advertise the time staff go home. I don't really care when staff go home. I want to know when i can go to the gym. Strange

Positives: gym equipment is good quality and it's never too busy... Negatives: showers and changing rooms are an absolute joke and in urgent need of maintenance. Same goes for the sauna and steam room. I've been coming here on and off for over a year (just because the alternatives are overcrowded or too far away) and these problems are long-term. I'm not surprised nothing gets done as the staff on reception are consistently rude and gormless. They don't know what day it is. Not sure if there's any actual management at this gym. If there is they should be sacked

I have been a member for many years. During the last months a staff member, who likes to call herself manager is extremely rude. Samantha do her best to make club members angry by rude comments as they enter and exit the building. Here is not a relaxing place any more. Many members complained about her to club's management but nothing changed. They admit that she didn't have any customer service training, however no action is done and this rude behaviour is continuing for many months. It seems there is no control over staff and the recruitment and training is weak!

The only reason why I am paying for that gym is because its local and in walking distance to my place. 60£ a month for a gym that more than 60% of equipment are treadmills. Lack of basic equipment, cable machines consistently broken with waiting time for them to be rapair few weeks. No rotation of machines, 3 years the same. Every second locker is broken. Not worth 60£ definitely.

I have been a Nuffield Health member for nearly 8 years now. I used to go to the Covent Garden one for the first 5 years and I absolutely loved it. Sadly after the pandemic, I don't work in central anymore and had to relocate to this Nuffield Health. It has slowly deteriorated from average to bad to worse. First they had a tumble dryer to dry your swimming trunks, towels etc. They got rid of it cuz they were trying to be "green", then they got rid of the small plastic bags they had for your wet swimming trunks, again cuz they're trying to be "green"! They have stopped providing towels since the pandemic, so I have to bring my own now for showering and I would use their blue roll to wipe any sweat during working out and a few weeks ago I found out that they have stopped providing blue roll as well, so you have to bring 2 towels with you now, one for sweating and one for showering. They have permanently shut the jaccuzzis in all Nuffields to save on energy bills and the machines are literally from 2010 if not earlier. So no tumble dryer, no plastic bags, no towels, no blue roll, no jaccuzzi with a higher price than what I used to pay before. They might as well get rid of the pool, sauna and steam, charge 20 quid and call it a Pure Gym or something. I understand these are very small things but it is these small things that help to build a better gym experience than say the one at The Gym, or Pure Gym, etc. Otherwise what's the point? I would much rather they had doubled the membership price and kept it at a high standard than this! Just look at David Lloyds down the road!

I have been using Nuffield gyms for a long time now. However I had never been to this one before so I thought I give it a try since I have recently moved into the area. God oh god this is bad. The minute I enter the premises the receptionist pulls her face at me and tells me to wait because she’s busy but I don’t get what’s more important the customer? Or whatever she’s doing on her phone. Anyways after 5 mins or so of waiting she asked me how she can help and I asked her if I could get a day pass so I can try the gym. She immediately refused saying that their facilities closing in 10 minutes even though it’s 8:40pm but on the website it says they close at 10pm. At this point I asked her if should could atleast give me a tour because I have moved new to the area and looking for a gym unfortunately with a rude manner she refused saying she won’t be able to do that since they are closing in 10mins. Overall from reading the other reviews it’s as if god was trying to save me from this filthy gym and rude staff.

I have been a member now for a while, and the showers by the pool are STILL NOT FIXED, even though I have reported it countless times, NOTHING! There are 2, one of them the knob doesn't turn, so it's constant hot water. The other one turns, but the water is constant cold, and nearly everyday there is something wrong, no jacuzzi, no pool, sauna or steam room is out, and nearly all of the showers in the men changing rooms are either leaking, or impossible to get the right temperature water! As for the lockers, DONT GET ME STARTED ON THEM, half of them are broken, and the ones that do work, the locks are dodgy! I was at the gym today and about 6 machines were not working. WHAT EXACTLY is our membership money going on??? Might I add, it's by no means cheap gym and yet you KEEP RAISING THE MEMBERSHIP FEE, FOR WHAT??? Why should i pay for something I am NOT GETTING??? Maybe I should stop paying till you have all these issues fixed FIRST, but ofcourse you will be so quick to cancel my membership! THIS IS A JOKE! I am sick and tired of reporting it and NOTHING IS BEING DONE! I would give it a ZERO if I could, fed up of it, really sick of it! SORT IT OUT OR I FIND ANOTHER GYM! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I will take this further if I must! Or better still, refund the months when I have paid for the services but did not recieve due to your incompetence of fixing the issues!

Staff are rude, this one receptionist has an appalling attitude. Lent my sister my card to take a class at the gym seeing as I couldn’t make it. Got told off for it by the receptionist then she blocked my card from letting me enter the building, meaning I would need a member of staff to let me in to check that the card belonged to me. Felt like this was very extreme, like I’m some kind of criminal. I didn’t even get an email or phone call to explain to me why my gym card had been blocked. Very unprofessional. save yourself the headache and find another gym

Worst service I have ever experienced. Members of staff completely clueless,I spoke to Urike, I was shocked to hear someone talking to a customer in that way. We have been trying to book a child swimming course and after waiting 3 weeks for the *manager* to reply to our email we are still calling every Saturday to get the child do the class. All they can say is we are waiting for our manager. We are all safe hands here!

I have been in a few NH in central London which are generally well maintained. I was really disappointed with this gym - the male changing is run down, the showers leak and there is mould everywhere. Toilets dirty at 7.00 am many lockers broken. Pool is ok but lacks basic things like signalling flags for backstrokes and training equipment (pullbuoys etc) also towels are not provided. NF membership is pricey and If you want to join this particular club is not worth imho.

Called in advancee around 5PM to ask if my 2 year old toddler can swim with me and to enquire about the water temperature. Turned up at 5:45PM only to be told that family swimming closes at 5:30PM with a smirk on the receptionist face. The French sounding telephonist could've taken initiative and told us that kids aren't allowed to swim after 5:30PM and the receptionist could've been more friendlier. Overall great facilities but staff need better training.

The only reason why I signed up was to use the Spa facilities. Lately management seems to be saving on energy costs as they just won’t turn up the heating at the jakuzzi and you are expected to be sitting in cold bubble water, when you raise it with management they say they’ll take a look but they never come back to you, really annoying frustrating and bad customer service experience.

I've been a member of this gym for a few months and I have enjoyed it, the gym is a good size it feels like they could add more machines to it but its great, the pool is really nice and so are all the facilities. I've never had a problem with the gym, the only issue is that it's a big expensive.

Very poor management of the place, things are always broken and take weeks or even months to get fixed.. its very rare that the sauna/steam room and jacuzzi are all functioning on the same day, the equipment is old and rarely get replaced. The staff are always full of excuses for the flaws but things dont get fixed despite all the complaints! The staff mostly are rude and unhelpful, aggressive and for every simple problem in the gym they claim to have to 'contact the head office' and the a/c was broken for 4 months as a result, and i dont even want to talk about the terrible hygiene in the gym and changing rooms, its utterly disgusting!

Lots of bad reviews on here, but I’ve never had a bad experience. The gym is nice and clean, with a lovely swimming pool and lots of equipment. The sauna and steam is a great bonus. I’ve been to a few other gyms in the area and this is by far the best, especially if you plan to swim and use the gym.

A month with broken aircon during the hottest month of 2019 making the gym virtually unusable. But they offered no compensation and had to call every time to find out if it had been fixed since there wasn’t any update in the website or emailed out to members.

No air con for past few weeks - get it fixed like. Ladies toilets so terrible, broken door locks and flush just doesn’t work in 3/4. Warm water from the water font in gym area. Really wonder what my 60 quid covers.

Changing rooms are always untidy, massive piles of towels not being taken away, floors always wet, toilets disgusting... Sure, most of these comments are due to members not being considerate but management does nothing to correct behaviours. I have been member in a few other gyms, even at lower price tags, and never seen anything like this. Then there is the problem with maintenance, everything keeps breaking, nothing gets fixed. Showers have been broken since I joined about a year and a half ago. Some of them have only hot water, others only cold water, a few with gel dispensers not working. The same with machines and other stuff in the gym area. And I am not even going to talk about the air-con situation during summer, almost 3 weeks without being able to use the club and no compensation given.

I have been a Nuffield Gym member for 6 months with Personal Trainer paying £277 per month. I wanted to cancel the membership and confirm with the Gym personal trainer. I asked for the Cancellation on the 31st to Gym PT and he said it was too early then I reminded him multiple times; I canceled direct debit on the 1st Dec and I informed him and he said it was okay. He already canceled PT sessions but for membership, he suggested I should cancel before the 15th of the Month which I did. I canceled my membership on 10th Dec. Now called Customer Service calling me and telling me that it's not before the 15th but one month advance notice is required so they want me to charge for January too!! The way the lady named MIA on call was talking to me was very rude; wasn't listening at all and kept saying I have to pay for January!! I sent them an email with the screenshot of WhatsApp that I confirmed with my PT. She said those screenshots could be anything instead of confirming with my PT; I gave his name too!! If they are not in sync with their Gym staff; we have to go through the pain!!! My PT agreed that he did not know there was a one-month notice required and hence, I was misinformed but the general manager of the Gym didn't agree and I had to pay an extra month despite following the instructions from the person I should been trusting as I was working with him every day.

Been to a few Nuffield gyms (Moorgate, Cannon St, Bloomsbury) and they are "decent to good". Sadly this is not up to standard...toilet area roped off so no toilets (or sinks!) in the gents. So other than the obvious also can't shave, wash hands, flip flops, trunks etc. Gym looks tired, lots of mould in the showers and some of them don't work. Needs some serious investment.

I was looking for a gym and found the reviews here too worrying but eventually decided to go and see it myself, the staff were helpful and kind, I'm mainly interested in the pool so my review on that is great, it's clean, not too busy, the lockers are clean too. I don't know about the gym or classes but I do recommend the pool. The price is a bit expensive but personally I found it worth it compared to other local pools.

Gyms good, rarely gets packed so youycan always use what you want, managers and certain reception staff are abit useless but if you just want a good place to train with good facilities then you shouldn't have a problem coming here. I think alot of people love to complain for nothing. Some staff are under trained but it's minor considering they don't disrupt your wornout. The PT staff are awesome (Jamie, Monica etc) the only flaws I can say about this gym is the price, Considering your paying £60 a month you'd expect all the facilities to be working at all times but instead either the steam or sauna or juccizi is broken. It's very rare when all 3 are in working order. Towels can be abit dirty sometimes aswell but other then that the gyms awesome.

I joined Nuffield Health Brondesbury Park when I moved around the corner from the gym. It is an ok gym: nothing special, not a gym I would ever have raved about, but it did the trick as it was on my doorstep. Due to a change in circumstances, I moved out of the area after 8 months and I tried to cancel my contract early as the nearest Nuffield Health is just over 2 miles away of my new address and an utter pain to get. As my new address is within 5 miles of the nearest Nuffield Health gym, my request was declined and after a few emails back and forth (that is whenever the general manager at Nuffield Health Brondesbury Park could be bothered to respond ) I decided, solely as I was the worst treatment of the general manager at Brondesbury Park, to transfer over my membership to the nearest Nuffield Health gym as I had been told to do. When I arrived at the new gym, I was told that I would have to pay more each month as the nearest gym was in a different tier as the Brondesbury Park gym. In my opinion that is not transferring over a membership – that would imply that no extra cost is incurred – but milking more money out of people who are under a contract. I complained about the fact that I would have to pay more and the general manager at Brondesbury Park did respond to me that I had 2 options: 1) “Transfer and pay the extra…” 2) “Finish your membership at Brondesbury Park…” This response was received 7 days after I emailed (not uncommon for her to take that long to respond) and after I had submitted a complaint to the Nuffield Health complaints department. The Nuffield Health complaints department is a complete joke. I moved from West London to East London and for some reason the complaints department informed me that I was close to one of their gyms in Barnet (North London). Barnet is 11 miles away from my new address. It is clear that the complaints department had no intention of reviewing my complaint properly given their response. Looks like Nuffield Health wants me to feel I am left with two options: pay extra or pay for a gym I do not use. Either way, Nuffield Health will continue to keep taking money every month.

Worst gym by far. Equipment are more than 10 years old. Steam room is always broken out of service. The equipment are always dirty and broken most of the time especially the cables. Spend your money somewhere else. Do not believe them if they try and tempt you with “waving the 1 month notice period once you cancel the membership”. Absolute liars

The cleanliness of all the studio classes and gym floor is awe full. With all the different viruses in action and being a health club the conditions should be on point. The equipment really needs update ding. The manager in all departments needs stepping up. They not performing there duties. They all need further training. I generally don't complain and do what I need to but it's becoming ridiculous. One of the cleanest gym by far is Furrzfeild in Potters Bar.

Terrible reviews have really put me off joining. My friend used to be manager there and kept things somewhat ok but now i dont know what to expect. Get better staff that are competent!

4 stars mainly due to living nearby and not having to use their changing rooms; if I had to use the changing rooms, my rating would be lower. Machines are a bit old but usable. Not sure why people make comments about the staff - in general they’re friendly. And if you’re there to work out you don’t need to talk to the staff much anyway. Good, standard gym for the area.
