We are happy to have this restaurant here on Naples Island. The menu is a myriad of Italian deliciousness. The orecchiette e salsiccia & Branzino are my favorites. Great Italian wine selection - Brunello's! Love the upstairs bar with its friendly atmosphere. A definite must dinner destination. Staff is awesome! Fine dining at its best. Hope to see you here!

Very interesting place. Its got a intimate lower floor and a exciting bar open air design up top. Filled with the well heeled and beautiful. It's a very nice "right choice" to make. Its going to hold your wallet so know what your coming for. However the dishes are pleasantly and surprisingly good and offer unique touches that set this apart from a more traditional Italian place. Wait staff was on point and ready at the drop to serve you well. I suggest reservations. An interesting observation is the two different "looks" so choose wisely because its a different party.

Was treated to a very special evening for my 30th. I’ve always wanted to experience a tasting of Louis XIII, and was lucky to get that opportunity at Michaels! The manager guided me through on how to best enjoy the experience. Thanks for help making my birthday special 🖤

Went there for dinner this evening and was disappointed by many things. The only aspect of the restaurant I have no complaints about is our server Bleue, who was amazing but just extremely busy taking care of so many tables. Noise on the second floor: The outdoor rooftop that I had specifically reserved because of COVID concerns was not actually a rooftop but rather the second floor of the restaurant where the bar was, so still indoors. There was in fact an outdoor area that was connected to this second floor, which makes me believe that somehow we did not get the seating that we reserved for. This second floor was absolutely terrible because it was impossible to hear anything over the loud music and rowdy people at the bar. It's NFL night, I get it. However, I feel like the dining place should have been a lot quieter than it was. They played such loud music and everyone was basically shouting to be heard. Coming down from the second floor after we were done, we saw that the first floor was basically empty and so much quieter. Maybe it would have been better if we had chosen to dine indoors in the first place. Food and price: We had the chef's tasting menu that cost 85 dollars per person without wine pairing. Even before we ordered anything our server let us know that they had a small kitchen today and that food may be delayed. We decided to go with it, not knowing that for six dishes, it would take us over 2.5 hours to finish, most of that time being us just waiting for our food. Honestly the food I think was overpriced, based on how much we had to wait for the food just to get lukewarm pasta and steak. For the caviar pasta I could not really taste the caviar. The antelope loin(?) was cold when we got it, and I personally don't see how the "salsify" added anything to the dish. The cocktails were great though! Overall: I was really disappointed at today's experience because many reviews on Google said that this was a great place. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to dine and actually be able to have an audible conversation with your party. And just fyi, they do not check for vaccine proof--do what you will with this information.

First time. I truly enjoyed all the courses...the salad, main dish & the dessert was simply delicious. Our server Blu was excellent & made you want to try what she suggested based on her knowledge of the menu & how she described it. You could taste the freshness which I loved. Loved the Moscato wine as well!

Mixed reviews this evening, but overall it was still wonderful. We ordered the pasta tasting and the chef’s tasting with wine. I can easily say the chef’s tasting won the evening hands down. Everything was amazing. The pasta however was not met with favor. The ladies hated every item on the pasta tasting, but the men loved everything on the chef’s tasting and of course we shared. The staff did what they could and we appreciate them. Still one of my favorite Italian spots in SoCal.

A pleasant surprise. Found it online. Took our daughter here to celebrate her birthday. It was a Sunday, early evening, so pretty low key. But the service and food were fantastic! We had the mixed meat appetizer and three different pasta dishes. Each were amazing. The food is on par with any fine dining place, but the vibe is a little more beach casual (which is right up our alley). We had an exquisite meal while the SNF game was on one TV and the wildcard baseball playoff was on another. Never a distraction, but rather another little bonus.

Fantastic food and wine paired beautifully with attentive and friendly service. The giant ravioli special was nothing short of amazing. It featured an interesting combination of cheese and egg inside, along with wild black trumpet mushrooms. The Spigola - pan seared white sea bass over venere rice was both visually and flavorfully stunning. What an incredible meal!

Service was fantastic. 5 stars in regards to that. As for the food, I just wasn't impressed. The portions are rather small for the price. I got the steak and potatoes, and the steak was dry, both potatoes and steak were cold when served to me. I added a half lobster tail and that was really good. I had the salad with the red wine vineggrette and I just wish there was more to it. Overall it was a nice night out but I was certainly not impressed by the food. Wouldn't do it again.

We had our holiday party on the rooftop at Michaels, and had a fabulous time. Didn't get pix of all the hits...but here's a few. Massimo the manager & somm, and our server Tyler took exceptional care to make sure the brunch was memorable...and it was. Great service, five star all the way!

This is my favorite brunch spot in Long Beach. Dishes change with the seasons, and they keep some favorites all year including the velvety biscuits with homemade jam. They offer half off bottles of rose champagne and wonderful cocktails. The service is top notch. It's the perfect balance of attentiveness and just letting you enjoy the experience. The lighting up on the rooftop is incredible.

Beautiful restaurant, with a lovely rooftop. Neat and clean. We decided to try the pasta tasting that comes with five courses and dessert, the portion of each course is small, only the last two are a little more generous. This is not a traditional Italian restaurant they serve more like exotic plates, but I do like it, very tasty.

We discovered this place by mistake. We were supposed to go another Italian place for my birthday but there was a mix up and we ended up having reservations at Michaels instead. This was the best mistake ever!! I love the food here. It is definitely pricey and therefore we save this restaurant for special occasions. I am vegetarian and they will always create a new appetizer for us to try. For dinner I always get the mushroom risotto. It is so good it's one of the few times I refuse to share with others. The risotto is something that isn't on the menu but was made for us the first time I went. The chef has always been kind enough to make it for me every time I have gone back. For dessert we've tried the almond cake and it defiantly melts in your mouth. Service and great and very friendly!

We had a snafoo with our reservation where 7 people showed up to a reservation of 5. The restaurant was able to make accommodations for us and took our drink order while we waited. We ordered a number of different pasta dishes and every one that I tried had a great combination of ingredients resulting in a lot of tasty bites! I only had one cocktail but it was delicious. One of our party has their birthday that night and they accommodated our custom candles to place in the desert before serving it. The prices of both the food and drinks we ordered were worth the price. The server at the end was able to close us out with a unique separation of the bill flawlessly and quickly. The service throughout was both timely and friendly.

We stumbled upon this gem online and decided to celebrate our daughter's birthday here on a Sunday evening. Despite it being low-key, the food and service were fantastic. We enjoyed the mixed meat appetizer and three different pasta dishes, each of which were amazing. The food was of a fine dining quality, but the atmosphere was more relaxed and beachy. We also appreciated being able to watch the SNF game and wildcard baseball playoff without any distractions. Overall, a delightful experience with great food and a cozy atmosphere.

The wine menu is one of the best I have come across. Very fair pricing on some highly rated producers. The food is excellent. The staff is highly customer centric, and on top of their game. I had a delightful experience all round, and I look forward to coming back next time I'm in Long Beach. Highly recommend, and I am confident you will leave feeling happy!

Phenomenal octopus and service. I highly recommend coming back here and plan to do so myself for the tasting menu. Salad selection was well done albeit a scooch lacking. Gnocchi was phenomenal

I have been a client for a longtime and even if we have lots of other options to dine in Long Beach and our surrounding cities I always chose Michael's because service is outstanding and the food never disappoints. Love the atmosphere all around . If we want white table dinning we have indoor option and when we want a little casual we can use the rooftop dining. It's my favorite places to eat . I recommend it .

Can't get enough of this spot. Whether you want a casual cocktail on the rooftop, a romantic anniversary dinner or the best damn lasagna because you deserve it, Michael's, hits the spot. Always nice to get greeted by the lovely GM, Massimo. 😎

The location and atmosphere was great and so were the drinks. But unfortunately we were really disappointed by the chef tasting menus. I tried food from all courses of both menus and didn't particularly like any of the courses with the exception of the free initial item. So much so that we ordered more food off the menu instead.

I was invited here for a family event and we had a delicious dinner! My favorite parts of the meal were the shirley temple, the steak, and the almond cake that finished off the meal. The staff were very accommodating and attentive, would love to come here again!
